Althea E. Fernald

KITTERY - Althea E. Fernald, 81, widow of Fredrick Fernald, of Martin Road, in Kittery, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at York Hospital following a period of failing health.

Mrs. Fernald was born on Feb. 3, 1921, in Kittery Point and was the daughter of Ernest T. and Grace A. (Wakefield) Hoyt. She attended local schools, graduating from R.W. Traip Academy. A life long resident of Kittery Point and Kittery, Mrs. Fernald was employed at J.J. Newbury’s Department Store in downtown Portsmouth for many years and at the gift shop in Yoken’s Restaurant in Portsmouth for a number of years before her retirement. She greatly enjoyed the time spent at her camp on square pond in Shapleigh; many summers were spent preparing the pots of flowers that greeted the guests as they arrived and placing others all around the camp for a touch of color and beauty. Mrs. Fernald also enjoyed ceramics, painting and writing.

Her greatest enjoyment however was watching and taking part in the lives of her nephew and nieces, and later in life, watching their children grow.

She is survived by her nephew, Ernest Hoyt, and his wife, Carol, of Branford, Fla.; her four nieces, Althea Patch of Kittery Point, Irene Tibbetts and her husband, Allen, of Kittery Point, Marilyn Secrest and her husband, Robert, of Bayonet Point, Fla., and Barbara Philbrook and her husband, Stephen, of Monson; as well as many great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Fredrick Fernald and a brother, Milton Hoyt.

FERNALD - Althea E. Fernald, 81, of Martin Road in Kittery, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at York Hospital following a period of failing health. A funeral will be held on Tuesday Jan. 21, at 3 p.m. from the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine 03904. Friends may visit with Mrs. Fernald’s family on Monday, Jan. 20, from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to the J.S Pelkey Funeral Home of Kittery.

Martin J. "Matt" Hegarty

PORTSMOUTH - Martin J. "Matt" Hegarty, 67, of 202 Highland Street, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.

He was born in Cambridge, Mass., on Oct. 8, 1935, the son of the late Martin and Katherine (Hession) Hegarty.

Mr. Hegarty was a graduate of Roslindale High School in Roslindale, Mass., and received his degree in accounting from Boston College and his MBA from Babson College.

From 1974 to 1989 he had his own accounting practice in Dover and more recently was an analyst for Fidelity Investments.

Mr. Hegarty was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church. He was a very active parent at Little Harbor School where his children attended, helping with many activities and field trips. Mr. Hegarty was an active climber, loved to hike and became a member of the AMC over 4000 footer Club. He was also a friend of "Bill W."

Besides his wife, Christine (Frawley) Hegarty, of 13 years, survivors include seven children, Quinn and Erin Hegarty of Portsmouth, Kathleen McNally of West Roxbury, Mass., Maureen Cotrupi of Arlington, Mass., Kevin Hegarty of Whitinsville , Mass., Matthew Hegarty of Arlington, Mass., and Christopher Hegarty of Fredericksburg, Va.; eight grandchildren, Carter, Christina and Noah Cotrupi of Arlington, Mass.; Sabrina, Sophia, Colby and Natalie Hegarty of Whitinsville, Mass.; and Grace McNally of West Roxbury, Mass.; brothers John Hegarty of Norwood, Mass., Robert Hegarty of Boston, Mass., and Thomas Hegarty of Wrentham, Mass.; a sister, Margaret Krug of Mansfield, Mass., and numerous nieces and nephews.

HEGARTY - Martin J. "Matt" Hegarty, 67, of 202 Highland St., Portsmouth, died Jan. 17, 2003. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, Summer St., Portsmouth, N.H. Tuesday at 10 a.m. Friends invited. Visiting hours will be held at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home - Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad Street, Portsmouth, Monday 4-8 p.m. Wake services will be held Monday at the funeral home by Fr. Timothy O’Donnell. Family flowers only. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 1309 Beacon St., Brookline, MA 02446-9918.

Mary Livingston Magrane

PROVIDENCE, RI - Mary Livingston Magrane, died on January 6, 2003, at the Tockwotten Home in Providence, R.I., after a short illness. She was 88. Mrs. Magrane lived in Rhode Island during the last 18 months to be near her daughter in Providence.

The former Mary Jane Livingston, Mrs. Magrane was born in Salem, Mass., and grew up in nearby Marblehead. In 1941 she married Alden Henry Anderson, also of Marblehead. The couple lived in Bath, Maine, where Mr. Anderson was employed by the Bath Iron Works. They had two children. Their marriage ended in divorce eight years later, and both returned to Marblehead.

Mrs. Anderson taught at the Tower School until her marriage to Winsor Magrane of Swampscott in 1957. They lived in Marblehead. Mr. Magrane was an enthusiastic sailor and a member of the Eastern Yacht Club. They were communicants at St. Michael’s Church in Marblehead; Mrs. Magrane was on the Alter Guild, and Mr. Magrane served as a member of the Vestry.

In 1969, they moved to St. Croix, where Mrs. Magrane continued teaching and was on the board of the St. Croix Animal Shelter. She loved animals, had dogs and the occasional cat throughout her life, and contributed to many animal welfare organizations.

After Mr. Magrane’s death in 1981, Mrs. Magrane returned to New England, and settled briefly in Providence before moving to York, Maine, where she lived until the summer of 2001. She was a docent at the John Paul Jones House for many years, and a board member at Yorkshire Commons, the residential complex in which she was a longtime resident.

Mrs. Magrane was graduated from Marblehead High School, Kendall Hall in Beverly Farms, Wheaton College in Norton, Mass., and Katherine Gibbs School in Boston.

She leaves two children, Ingrid Anderson Pawlowski, of Providence R.I., and Alden Henry Anderson Jr. of York, Maine.; two granddaughters, Reeve Chace of New York City and Tess A. W. Pawlowski of Providence; a nephew, Frederick McCarthy of Swampscott; and a niece, Irene McCarthy Johnson of Newburyport, Mass.

A memorial service will be held in Providence sometime this spring.

Ronald F. Sassone

HAMPTON - The funeral for Ronald F. Sassone, 56, of Hampton, who died Jan. 10, 2003, was held Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, from the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory. Services were conducted in the first Congregational Church. The Rev. Deborah Knowlton, pastor, officiated. Jean Goss was organist. Private interment was in the High Street Cemetery with the committal service conducted by Rev. Knowlton.

Joseph N. Shaw

PORTSMOUTH - Joseph N. Shaw, 65, of 888 Greenland Road, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

He was born in Newburyport, Mass., on July 29, 1937, the son of the late Edward C. and Hazel (Wentworth) Shaw.

He was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1955. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam, retiring after 20 years of service. He was formerly employed as a maintenance engineer for Winnacunnet High School in Hampton. He was a member of the Greenland Community Congregational Church and an officer and member of the B&M Historical Society.

Besides his wife Veronica (Popielarz) Shaw, survivors include his daughter, Terryann Kelley of Raymond; son Mark Edward Shaw of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; his sister, Jean Shaw of Dover; and several nieces and nephews.

SHAW - Joseph N. Shaw, 65, of 888 Greenland Road, Portsmouth, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Greenland Community Congregational Church, 2 Post Road, Greenland. Friends are invited. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home - Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., Portsmouth.

Donald Arthur Hubbard

LEWISTON, Maine - Donald Arthur Hubbard died peacefully on Jan. 14, 2003, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He was 71.

Born in Norwood, Mass., and raised in Natick, Mass., he graduated from Natick High School in 1949. He went on to attend the The Bishop Lee Theater Arts School of Boston and appeared in several stage productions in various locations throughout the country. He was a very successful interior designer, working for several Boston and New York firms before opening his own business, Interior Images of Boston and Wellesley. He was an extremely active member of the American Society for Interior Designers (ASID), where he held a national position as liaison to student chapters. He served as treasurer and president of the New England chapter. In 1983 he chaired and hosted the national ASID conference in Boston.

After retiring, he lived in both New Hampshire and Maine, where he spent many years amongst his cherished friends.

He was a son of the late Laurence and Lois Hubbard of Natick, Mass.

He is survived by his brother, Robert Hubbard of Natick, Mass.; and his nephew, Christopher Hubbard of Brookline, Mass.

A memorial gathering for friends and family will be held this spring in Ogunquit.

Marjorie Frances (White) Dixon

DOVER - Marjorie Frances (White) Dixon, 81, widow of Alden F. Dixon, of 276 County Road, and formerly of Wentworth Road, New Castle, died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at the Riverside Nursing Home in Dover.

She was born in Haverhill, Mass., on June 10, 1921, the daughter of Percy W. and Bertha (Farrow) White. She was a graduate of Haverhill High School, New England Deaconess Hospital in Boston, and Simmons College in Boston.

She served in the United States Navy as a nurse during World War II and was director of nursing at the Parrott Avenue Home in Portsmouth.

Survivors include two sons, Richard F. Dixon of Dover and Dennis J. Dixon of Dedham, Mass.; a daughter, Marjorie A. Good of Charlotte, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son Dean W. Dixon.

DIXON - Marjorie Frances (White) Dixon, 81, of 276 County Farm Road, Dover, formerly of Wentworth Road, New Castle, died Jan. 19, 2003. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours. Arrangements are by J. Verne Wood Funeral Home - Buckminster Chapel.

Robert E. Menter Sr.

ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - Robert E. Menter Sr., 68, loving husband, devoted father, and grandfather, died Jan. 6, 2003, at home in Zephyrhills from cancer, with his family and friends by his side.

Born in Faribault, Minn., and formerly of Salisbury, Mass., he served 20 years in the Navy and worked 18½ years at the Newburyport, Mass., post office.

He was a longtime member of the Salisbury Methodist Church and was involved in the Couples Club. He was also a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion and volunteered at the Shriner’s Hospital in Tampa, Fla.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Clinton) Menter; four children, Robin Gaston and her husband, Larry Gaston, of Riverview, Fla., Rick Menter and his wife, Darcy Menter, of New Port Richie, Fla., Robert Menter Jr. of Dover, N.H., and Russ Menter and his wife, Kim Menter, of Portsmouth, N.H.; 11 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; six sisters, Phyllis Beasley of St. Paul Park, Minn., Doris Stocklin of Chetek, Wis., Lolly Burns of St. Paul, Minn., Darlyn Gautsch of Merrifield, Minn., Brenda Menter of Eagan, Minn., and Wendy Menter of Downing, Wis.; three brothers, Phillip Menter of San Diego, Calif., Reynold Menter of Mount Vernon, S.D., and Richard Menter of St. Paul, Minn.

A memorial service was held, followed by cremation and burial at sea.

Joseph L. Montmarquet

KITTERY, Maine - Joseph L. Montmarquet, 71, of Cedar Drive, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at his home.

Born on Aug. 12, 1931, in Manchester, N.H., he was the son of Lucien and Emilienne Montmarquet. He attended local schools, graduating from Manchester High School.

He served his country for more than 21 years as a member of the United States Air Force, serving as an aircraft maintenance specialist. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars.

He was a well-known fixture in the automotive parts industry, working for more than 31 years for NAPA Auto Parts, for the most recent 10 years in the York store, and previously at the Portsmouth stores, both in the old post office building and on Mirona Road. His job and his customers were his passion; his loved ones, co-workers and friends will miss him dearly.

He was a former member of the Frank Booma Post #6 of the American Legion in Portsmouth, N.H., and enjoyed camping.

His first love was his family; they include his loving wife, Shirley A. Montmarquet of Kittery; daughters Mary Porter and her husband, Michael, of Fort Apache, Ariz., Laura D’amico and her husband, Barry, of Sommerville, S.C., and Christine M. Coe and her husband, Stephen, of Ashburnham, Mass.; sons Larry Montmarquet and his wife, Robin, of Sommerville, S.C., Frank Montmarquet and his wife, Linda, of Wells, Robert Moody and his wife, Michele, of York, and James P. Moody of Charleston, S.C.; a sister, Rita Lessard and her husband, Oscar, of Hooksett, N.H.; grandchildren Joseph Montmarquet, Tammi Montmarquet, Jennifer King, Michael Porter, Savannah D’amico, A.J. D’amico, Cheryl Coe, Kathleen Coe, Barbara Coe, Ashley Harvey, Brandon Libby, Ashley Downes, Brittney Downes and Emily Downes; three great-grandchildren, Kaylah Pope, Katlyn Harvey and Brandyn King; a brother-in-law, George L. Fox Jr.; and three sisters-in-law, Eleanor Hornsby, Suzanne Chagnon and Wanda Howe.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Stovall, in 1978; and a daughter, Elizabeth A. Libby.

MONTMARQUET - Joseph L. Montmarquet, 71, of Cedar Drive in Kittery, Maine, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at his home in Kittery. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine. Friends may visit with Joe’s family from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Family flowers only; donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Bangor St., Suite F, Augusta, ME 04330; or to the American Heart Association or the Lung Association. Arrangements are entrusted to the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home of Kittery.

Vera Whitley

HAMPTON - The funeral for Jessie Vera Whitley, 88, of Hampton, was held Monday at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.

The Rev. Carroll Moore, pastor of the United Methodist Church, Hampton, officiated. Burial followed in the High Street Cemetery, Hampton, with committal prayers by the Rev. Moore.

Marie A. Giglio

PORTSMOUTH - Marie A. Giglio, 81, of 263 Rockland St., died suddenly at her home on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003.

Born in New York, N.Y., on Dec. 29, 1921, she was a daughter of Peter and Filamena (Versaggi) Rizzo and had been a resident of Portsmouth since 1959.

She worked for many years at the Woodbury Avenue Demoulas Market Basket. She was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception and a former member of the Sons of Italy. She was an avid bingo player.

The widow of Lodovico A. Giglio, who died in 2000, she is survived by her four children, Vita A. Standley of Silverdale, Wash., and Phyllis C. Giglio, Peter S. Giglio, and Mary Lou Garland, all of Portsmouth; three grandchildren, MaryAnn Garland, Brittany Standley and Megan Standley; two sisters; a brother; and several nieces and nephews.

GIGLIO - Marie A. Giglio, 81, of 263 Rockland St., Portsmouth, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Farrell Funeral Home 684 State St. Portsmouth.

Orin E. Ball Jr.

ROCHESTER - Orin Emery Ball Jr., 79, of Eliot, Maine, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at the Rochester Manor Nursing Home in Rochester, after a long illness.

He was born on July 30, 1923, the son of Orin E. Ball and Harriet Cromack Ball in Orange, Mass. He was educated in the Orange School System.

Mr. Ball served in the Navy in both World War II and the Korean War as a member of the Navy Seals. He was awarded the American Area Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Area Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Korean Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal. He worked as a laborer for many construction companies on jobs with the Maine Turnpike, Seabrook Power Plant and many others.

He was a member of the Eliot Lions Club and the Eliot Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife Rita "Kelly" Ball; a daughter-in-law, Jody Kelly; two grandsons, Christopher and his wife, Hanna, and Stephen Kelly (all of Bowie, Md.); two great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet Snow of East Long Meadow, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Charles Kelly, who died in 1996.

BALL - Orin Emery Ball Jr., 79, of Eliot, Maine, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at the Rochester Manor Nursing Home in Rochester, N.H. A time of visitation and Funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at the Eliot Methodist Church, Route No. 236, Eliot, Maine. Visitation will be from noon to the start of the service at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the spring at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Eliot, Maine. The family has requested that flowers be omitted. Donations in his memory may be made to the Eliot Methodist Church. Services are under the direction of the Wilson-Cooper Funeral Home, 21 Rogers Road, Kittery, Maine.

MULVEY - Susie E. Mulvey, 75, of 20 Islington St., #213, Portsmouth, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at the Seacoast Health Center in Hampton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Visiting hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth. Flowers are acceptable, or memorials may be made to Portsmouth Home Health and Hospice, 95 Albany St., Unit 11, Portsmouth, NH 03801. A full obituary will appear in Thursday’s paper.

HAMPTON - The funeral for Michael A. Kutlowski, 82, of 1 Ashbrook Drive, who died Jan. 15, 2003, was held Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, from the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory followed by a mass of Christian burial, celebrated at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church.

The Rev. Phillip Enrico, associate pastor, was celebrant. Nelson K. Ward was organist and Patricia Mackensen was soloist. Members of the Holy Name Society served on the alter, and formed an honor guard at the church. Also in attendance was a delegation from the Catholic Women’s Club.

Burial followed in the High Street Cemetery with committal prayers offered by Father Enrico. Taps was sounded and the United States Flag, which covered the casket, was folded and presented to his widow, Anne C. (Zaniewski) Kutlowski, by a detachment of personnel from the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Pallbearers were Michael Kutlowski, William Kutlowski, John Kutlowski, Edward Kutlowski, John Haskin, and Thomas Blair. Prayers were offered at the funeral home on Thursday evening by the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal.

HAMPTON FALLS - James F. Fallon, 70, of 102 Lafayette Road died, Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at his home surrounded by his wife and family.

He was born March 5, 1932, in Pittsford, Vt., the son of the late Harry F. and Mabel T. (Pratt) Fallon and had resided in Hampton Falls since 1968 coming from Salem, Mass.

Mr. Fallon was raised in Vermont and was a graduate of Pittsford High School and Castleton State University of Vermont. He received his master’s in education from Springfield College in Massachusetts.

He sold pools and pellet, wood and gas stoves and was founder and president of Home and Hearth, a very successful business that was the country’s No. 1 retailer of pellet stoves for the past six years. Mr. Fallon was a teacher and guidance councilor for many years at the Beverly High School in Beverly, Mass., and also coached high school basketball from 1958 to 1963 in Windsor, Vt., winning the state championship six out of eight times.

Family members include his wife of 35 years, Mary-Jane (Paige) Fallon of Hampton Falls; two sons, James P. Fallon and his wife, Kate of Hampton Falls, and Jeffrey J. Fallon and his wife, Pamela of Farmington; one daughter, Debra Coles and her husband, Bill of Newmarket; one step-daughter, Leisa G. Blatchford and her husband, David of Hampton; five grandchildren, Kelly Coles, Kate Cinfo, Jenny Fallon, Adam Fallon and Harry Fallon; one brother, Edward P. Fallon and his wife, Carol of Cairo, NY; two sisters, Sue Savage of Alburg, Vt., and Maryly Hickey and her husband, Neil of Chittenden, Vt.; many nieces and nephews. His step-son, Donald Griffin, predeceased him in 1982 as did his sister, Nancy Fallon, who died in 2002.

FALLON - James F. Fallon, 70, of 102 Lafayette Road, Hampton Falls died, Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003. Services will be held at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, Saturday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. The family requests that there be no visiting hours and flowers please be omitted. If desired, donations may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.

PORTSMOUTH - Joby Hopkins 82, died at the Mark Wentworth Home on Monday Jan. 20, 2003.

She was a graduate of Marywood University in Scranton, Pa., and worked in the family publishing business.

Joby moved to Portsmouth in 2000, following the death of her husband, Jim, and enjoyed the hospitality of the Seacoast by way of her participation in the Compass Care program at Parrott Avenue Place. She resided in the Garden Unit at the Mark Wentworth where her quality of life remained outstanding, despite her dementia.

She was an only child, and is survived by her only child, John Hopkins, of Portsmouth, his wife, Susan, and their children, Emily and Sean.

HOPKINS - Joby Hopkins 82, of 346 Pleasant St died Jan. 20, 2003. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at 10 a.m. on Thursday. Friends invited. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Compass Care at Parrott Avenue Place, 127 Parrott Ave Portsmouth, NH 03801. PORTSMOUTH - Mike Kuchtey, 88, founder and co-owner of Mike’s Marina, of 187 Wentworth Road, died Jan. 21, 2003.

A man of highest integrity, Mike was born in North Conway in 1914 and spent his adolescence in Berlin, before courting and marrying Dunya in Claremont in 1936. The fledgling family moved to Portsmouth, where Mike worked as an electrical engineer on the nuclear subMarines at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard before realizing an opportunity in a piece of waterfront property. While he had only intended to provide his family with a pleasant residence and rent a few boat slips, his exceptional work ethic and kind demeanor brought more customers and friends back every season. His character was clear through his dedication to serving each customer rather than making a dollar and he was often late for dinner helping with one last request.

As demand necessitated expansion, Mike used his practical sensibilities and intelligent curiosity to build many of the structures that still exist at the site on Wentworth Road. While he developed a thriving business, he lived modestly and delighted in simple pleasures, encouraging the same in his family.

His spirit will be remembered and his presence missed by all who knew him, especially his children, Joan Gittlein of Rye Beach, and Michael Kuchtey of Portsmouth, and Richard Kuchtey of Maui, Hawaii; his grandchildren, Kimberly Bosma of Portsmouth and Kelly Gittlein of Cambridge, England, and Walter Kuchtey of Portsmouth, John Kuchtey of Cleveland, Ohio, and Michael Kuchtey of Portsmouth; seven great-grandchildren and siblings Katherine Dayton and Olga Walker of Claremont.

KUCHTEY - Michael Kuchtey, 88, co-owner of Mike’s Marina, of Portsmouth, died Jan. 21, 2003. Funeral services will be held at the Middle Street Baptist Church, 18 Court Street, Portsmouth, at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Friends invited. Visiting hours will be held at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home - Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad Street, Portsmouth, from 4-7 p.m. Friday. Gifts in lieu of flowers should be directed to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833 or to the Michael and Dunya Kuchtey Scholarship Fund, c/o Piscataqua Savings Bank, 15 Pleasant Street, Portsmouth, NH 03801. Following the funeral service on Saturday, there will be an open house at the home of Kimberly Bosma, 180 Odiorne Point Road (Tuckers Cove), Portsmouth, for all to share memories and photos.
