Hortense Levy Coalla, 88, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Nov. 18, 2001, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., after a long illness.
Co-founder of Yield House Gift and Furniture Manufacturing Shop, Ms. Coalla came to North Conway in 1946 with then-husband Bill Levy. They bought the oldest house in town and renovated it, and Hortense had an antique shop in the front section of the house.
She was predeceased by her parents and her sister.
She is survived by her brother, Dick Holmes; two nieces; and one nephew.

Margaret M. Abbott, 84, of Jackson died November 19, 2001, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, R.I. Born in Providence, the daughter of Elmer and Margaret (Tarpey) Smith, she lived in South Attleboro, Mass., prior to moving to Jackson in 1964.
She had been a hostess at Heritage New Hampshire in Glen for several years.
The family includes a son, Walter H. Worthington of Warwick, R.I.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a nephew; and a grand-nephew.
Her first husband, Walter H. Worthington, and her second husband, Herman M. Abbott, predeceased her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of the Mountains Church in North Conway. Burial will be in the Jackson Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Manning-Heffern Funeral Home in Pawtucket, R.I., and Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.
Donations may be sent to the R.I. Heart Association, 40 Broad Street, Pawtucket, R.I. 02860, in Mrs. Abbott's memory.

Conrad (Connie) Potter, 73, of Issaquah, Wash., passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, Wash.
He was born Oct. 18, 1928, at Memorial Hospital, North Conway, the son of the late Charles (Bill) Potter and Louise Leavitt Potter Surko. Conrad graduated from Kennett High School in 1946 and left immediately to serve in the U.S. Navy. Upon discharge from the navy, he attended Plymouth Teachers College, receiving his bachelor's degree in political science.
Conrad began his career in educational administration as superintendent of schools in Klawack, Alaska. While in Klawack, he married Mary Jean Stanley. They spent three summers in Missoula, Mont., where Conrad studied for his master's degree in education at Montana State University. After completing his post-graduate studies, he served as the superintendent of schools for the Kenai, Alaska, school district. In 1964, he was accepted into the doctoral program at Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif., where he received his doctorate of education.
After receiving his doctorate, Conrad served as a field representative for the U.S. Department of Education for two years. Dr. Potter then began a long affiliation with Central Washington State University, Ellensburg, Wash. He served as chairman of the Department of Education, professor, consultant, and supervisor of principal interns.
Conrad spent his high school years working and living at the Clarendon Inn in Intervale, and was interested in building a similar New England style in outside of Seattle, Wash. He followed that interest by pursuing and earning degrees in hotel and restaurant management and culinary arts. In 1987, Conrad Mary Jean and Con's sister, Marilyn Potter Olsen, established The Old Honey Farm Country Inn Partnership in Snoqualmie, Wash. The inn was featured in several bed and breakfast publications and enjoyed some glowing restaurant reviews during their 10-year ownership.
Conrad is survived by his wife, Mary Jean; his sister, Marilyn Potter Olsen, of Conway; his sons, Keedo (Harold) Potter of Bullhead City, Ariz., Steve (Carol) Potter of Ellensburg, Wash.; grandchildren, Jeremy (Ana) Potter and Jaime Potter; nephew Gilbert Olsen Jr. of San Jose, Calif.; several cousins; and one aunt, Esther (Howard) Potter of Redstone. Conrad was predeceased in death by his son, John Potter, and his parents.

Edward Allen McInnis, 75, of Stow, Maine, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at his home. He was born in North Conway, the son of Edward and Erma Abbott McInnis. Edward left school at an early age to join the army during World War II. He returned from the service and moved to Stow, where he worked logging, and later worked for Audley Construction and Mike Valladares as a truck driver. He worked many years for Alvin Coleman as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Fryeburg American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carving, whittling, playing guitar, and the family said he was always whistling.
Edward is survived by his wife of 55 years, Bernice Smith McInnis of Stow; four sons, Allen I McInnis of North Lovell, Francis G. McInnis of Howland, Maine, Wayne McInnis of Stow, and Gary S. McInnis of Fryeburg, Maine; one daughter, Elizabeth "Buttons" Greene of Brownfield, Maine; one brother, Russell McInnis of Madison; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
There will be no visiting hours. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Donations may be made in memory of Edward to the Fryeburg Rescue, P.O. Box 177, Fryeburg, ME 04037, or to the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Foundation, 127 Pottle Road, Oxford, ME 04270.
Arrangements are with Wood Funeral Home of Fryeburg.

TAMWORTH - Robert Eastwick, 89, of Great Hill Road in Tamworth, died Nov. 15, 2001, at the Mayflower Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Plymouth, Mass.
He was born Aug. 17, 1912, in Winchester, Mass., the son of the late Charles and Belle Madeline (Hedges) Eastwick. Bob lived in South Tamworth where he owned and operated Eastwick's General Store before moving to Tamworth Village, where he lived for many years. He was a graduate of the Wentworth Institute in Boston, Mass., and had worked as a builder in Tamworth for most of his life. He took great pride in the renovation of Union Hall in South Tamworth.
Bob also served his country during World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was predeceased by his wife Bertha (Robinson) Eastwick. He is survived by his daughter, Joy Khoshabjian of Plymouth, Mass.; a granddaughter, Charlene Khoshabjian of Plymouth, Mass.; a grandson, Robert Khoshabjian of West Roxbury, Mass.; and two great-grandsons, Dennis and Phillip Khoshabjian, both of West Roxbury, Mass.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in the Chocorua Cemetery, Chocorua. Lord Funeral Home in Center Ossipee is in charge of arrangements.

CONWAY - Paul A. Rodenhiser, 69, of Conway, died Nov. 12, 2001, at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway after a long illness.
Born in Melrose, Mass., the son of Carl and Marion (Johnson) Rodenhiser, he grew up in West Newbury, Mass. He lived in Logan, Utah, Meredith, NH, Beverly, Mass., and Wilton, Conn., before moving to Conway in 1966.
Mr. Rodenhiser graduated from Central High School in West Newbury, Mass., in 1950. He received his bachelor of science degree at Utah State University and his master of education from Northeastern University in 1964.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War.
A retired educator, he started his career as a social studies teacher at Inter-Lakes High School in Meredith in 1957 and later became an administrative assistant and then assistant professor at Northeastern University. In 1965 he was director of instruction at Wilton (Conn.) High School and then became principal of Kennett High School in Conway for 22 years before his retirement in 1988.
Mr. Rodenhiser was a member of Kappa Delta Phi at Northeastern University Graduate School; National Association of Secondary School Principals; NH Association of School Principals; and the Conway Education Association.
Locally, he was former program chairman and treasurer of the North Conway Rotary Club; a member of the Conway School Board for several years; a member of the board of trustees of the Pequawket Foundation; a former advisor to the Explorer Scouts; and a den master of the Cub Scouts.
The family includes wife of 48 years, Betty (Hamilton) Rodenhiser, of Conway; and three sons, Glen A. Rodenhiser, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Craig R. Rodenhiser, of Rangeley, Maine, and Paul A Rodenhiser Jr., of San Diego, Calif. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Kayla and Jacob Rodenhiser; a brother, Carl L. Rodenhiser, of Peabody, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the First Church of Christ Congregational in North Conway. Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Bridge Street Cemetery in West Newbury, Mass. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be sent to the Paul A. Rodenhiser Scholarship Fund, c/o Kennett High School, 176 Main Street, Conway, NH 03818.

Albert F. Massey, 69, of Ossipee, died Nov. 11, 2001, at the Mountain View Nursing Home in Ossipee, where he has been a resident since 1969.
Born in Wolfeboro on Feb. 18, 1932, son of the late William and Barbara (Young) Massey, he had lived in Wolfeboro all of his life until he became a resident at Mountain View Nursing Home.
Mr. Massey is survived by a brother, Roland Massey of Rochester; a sister, Jean Rankin of Fortville, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, at Pine Hill Cemetery in Wolfeboro. Rev. Wilbur Hartford will officiate.
The Baker-Gagne Funeral Homes and Cremation Service of Wolfeboro and West Ossipee is in charge of the arrangements.

Bruce A. Lord, 58, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Nov. 11, 2001, at his home after a long illness with cancer.
He was born in Bridgton, Maine, a son of Walter and Charlotte Lord, and grew up in Fryeburg, Maine. He was a member of the Fryeburg New Church of Jerusalem.
He served 22 years in the United States Air Force, and after retiring, settled in Florida and worked at several golf courses.
Surviving are his wife Jeannette, of Fort Walton Beach, and mother Charlotte Lord of Fryeburg; three sons, Nicholas of St. Louis, Mo., Jarrod of Tampa, Fla., and Jason of Grapevine, Texas; two sisters, Deborah Dolley and Jane Dutton, both of Fryeburg; and four brothers, Dale Lord of Accokeek, Md., Terry of Mechanic Falls, Maine, Murray of Polly's Island, S.C., and Gene Lord of Denmark, Maine.
There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2001, at 7:30 p.m. at the Fryeburg New Church on Oxford Street.

Roger H. Busch, 70 of Center Ossipee died Nov. 9, 2001, surrounded by his loving family at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro after a long battle with Progressive Supra Nuclear Palsy (PSP), a rare degenerative muscular disease.
Born in Spring Hill, Minn., the son of the late Bernard and Margaret (Fernholtz) Busch, he moved to Center Ossipee in 1958.
Mr. Busch was a Korean War veteran serving from 1951 to 1954, specializing in Morse code interception.
His many business interests involved owning and operating two laundry centers, building construction, land development, which included the Indian Mound Golf Course, the Bluffs and College Park housing developments, the creation of Lakewood Station Antiques, and in the mid-eighties, the founding of Busch Real Estate. He retired in 1996 due to illness.
His community involvement included selectman for the town of Ossipee for three consecutive terms from 1971 through 1979 and an 11-year member of the Whittier Lions Club, serving two presidential terms.
Roger's personal interests were boating on Ossipee Lake, an avid pilot, flying his plane and spending time with his grandsons.
Predeceased by a brother, Clarence Busch, an infant son, and brothers-in-law Daniel A. Hayford and Willard J. Staples.
The family includes his wife of 47 years, Priscilla "Buddy" Busch of Center Ossipee; two daughters, Deborah Fischbein and her husband Daniel, and Bernadette Trahan and her friend John Kelly of Center Ossipee; a brother, Jerry Busch and his wife Millie of Elk River, Minn.; three grandsons, Josh Fischbein of Sanbornville, Charles "Ash" Fischbein of Wolfeboro, and Mathew Trahan of Center Ossipee; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful companion Ziggy, the family dachshund.
Calling hours were Monday evening, Nov. 12, at the Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Route 16, West Ossipee. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at St. Joseph's Church in Center Ossipee.
