Albert Molleur
KITTERY, Maine - A largely attended funeral Mass for Albert "Pete" Molleur, who died on Dec. 19, 2001, was held Dec. 27, 2001, from the St. Raphael Parish Church in Kittery, with the Rev. Father Real Nadeau officiating. In attendance were family, friends, neighbors and fellow chickadee chapter members, as well as members of his church family and Knights of Columbus.
The congregation was led in song by the church organist Alfred "Butch" Lapointe, accompanied by the St. Raphael Parish Choir. The cross-bearer was Mr. Manuel Sousa.
The gifts were presented to the altar by Mr. Molleur's son, Peter; granddaughter, Mary Ann Hastings; step-granddaughter, Sabra Bryant; and great-granddaughter, Tamara Hastings. Mr. Molleur's son James reflected on his father's life, along with a close family friend.
The service continued at Brooks Memorial Park in Eliot where the Rev. Nadeau offered prayers of committal and words of encouragement. Pallbearers were Mr. Molleur's grandson's, Christopher Molleur, Nathaniel Molleur, Samuel Molleur, John McLaren and his nephew and godson.
Mrs. Molleur was presented with an American flag in honor of Mr. Molleur's unselfish service to his country. Friends and family gathered at the church after the committal for a collation. Services were entrusted to the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home of Kittery.
Ruth E. Kirk
HOULTON, Maine - Ruth Elizabeth Kirk, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2001, at her daughter's residence in Kittery.
Born Oct. 12, 1918, in Houlton, she was the daughter of Winthrop and Gertrude (Manuel) Robinson.
She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd Episcopal in Houlton. She and her husband, Don, owned and operated the "Country Store" on Bangor Road for many years, serving several generations of families. She will be fondly remembered by her many friends and customers.
She was predeceased by her husband, Donald F. Kirk, in 1981.
She is survived by two sons, Robert W. Kirk and his wife, Mary Lee, of New Canaan, Conn., and Donald V. Kirk and his wife, Beverly, of Houlton; two daughters, Carole McCarthy and her husband, Philip, of Kittery, and Barbara Danis and her husband, Norm, of Waldoboro; eight grandchildren, Rick McCarthy and his wife, Michele, of Topsham, Greg McCarthy and his wife, Julie, of North Yarmouth, Jane Kirk Bascobert and her husband, Paul, of New York, N.Y., Sarah Kirk Barber and her husband, Bradley, of New Canaan, Conn., Andie Kirk of Belfast, Ben Kirk of Belfast, Laura Kirk of Searsport, and Jason Gilpatrick and his wife, Tara, of Topsham; 10 great-grandchildren, Sean and Noah McCarthy, Connor and Evan McCarthy, Paul and Katherine Bascobert, Thomas and Brittany Barber, Abagail Kirk and Claire Gilpatrick; and several nieces and nephews.
KIRK - Ruth Elizabeth Kirk, 83, of Houlton, Maine, died Dec. 25, 2001. Friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Home in Houlton today (Friday) from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Roderick Black officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Lawrence Allen Jr.
ELIOT, Maine - A largely attended graveside service for Lawrence Allen Jr., who died Dec. 24, 2001, was held Friday at the Brooks Memorial Cemetery in Eliot.
Delegations from the Kittery and Eliot police departments, AMR Ambulance Service, the Kittery Masonic Naval Lodge 184, York County Sheriff's Department and former employees of the former Highway Motors were present.
A contingent from the Navy presented the American flag to his widow.
The Rev. Ron Messer, pastor of Eliot United Methodist Church, officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Wilson-Cooper Funeral Home of Kittery.
Annette S. Donnell
YORK BEACH, Maine - Annette Shorey Donnell, 99, of Ridge Road, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at the Harbor Home.
Born March 29, 1902, in Cape Neddick, Maine, she was the daughter of Charles W. and Carrie M. (Avery) Farwell. She lived on Ridge Road for 80 years before moving to the Harbor Home two years ago. She graduated from York High School.
She worked as a private housekeeper for many York Beach area families, including Dr. Norman Emery, The Ellis Camp, Lawless Family, Roger Norton and the Garfields.
She was a member of the Union Congregational Church of York Beach, and enjoyed cooking and baking for her husband and seven sons.
She was the wife of the late Arthur H. Donnell, who died in 1954.
Survivors include four sons, David Donnell of Kittery; Gerald Donnell of Portsmouth, N.H., Earle Donnell of York Beach; Richard Donnell of Augusta, Ga.; and 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three sons, Arthur, who died in 1998; Gordon who died in 1994; and Russell Sr., who died in 1988. She was also predeceased by her half-brother, Holland Avery, and by two grandchildren.
DONNELL - Annette Shorey Donnell, 99, of Ridge Road, York Beach, died Dec. 27, 2001. Private services will be held. Family flowers only. Alice B. Knightly
HAMPTON - Alice B. Knightly, 93, a former resident of the Dearborn House, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood.
Born Jan. 4, 1908, in Tariffville, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ellen (Wall) Conley. She was raised in Connecticut, attended local schools there, and had resided in the Springfield, Mass., area from 1942 until 1990, when she moved to Hampton.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church and a former communicant of Holy Name Parish in Springfield.
She enjoyed music and crocheting.
She was the wife of the late Charles V. Knightly, who died in June of 2000.
Survivors include one son, Thomas W. Knightly of Madison, Conn.; one daughter, Mary A. Knightly of Hampton; two grandchildren, Patrick and Kara Knightly; and several nieces and nephews.
KNIGHTLY - Alice B. Knightly, formerly of the Dearborn House, Hampton, died Dec. 28, 2001. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday (today) at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton, Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the hour of the Mass. Burial will be in High Street Cemetery, Hampton.
Sandra E. Caldwell
BOSTON - Sandra E. Caldwell, 55, of 111 Atlantic Ave., died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, at the Stanley Tippett Home in Needham, Mass.
Born Oct. 10, 1946, in Portsmouth, N.H., she was the daughter of the late Bradley and Merlease (Downs) Caldwell. She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1965, and had attended the Katherine Gibbs College in Boston.
She was an administrative secretary for the Boston Athenaeum, and was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Portsmouth.
Survivors include a brother, Bruce Caldwell, and his wife, Viola, of Kittery, Maine; two aunts, June Harden of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Genevieve Caldwell of Portsmouth, N.H.; an uncle, Arthur Downs of Portsmouth, N.H.; a stepmother, Barbara Caldwell of Kittery, Maine; two nieces, Tina McLean of Eliot, Maine, and Tammy LeClair of Kittery, Maine.
CALDWELL - Sandra E. Caldwell, 55, of 111 Atlantic Ave., Boston, died Dec. 27, 2001. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., Portsmouth, N.H. Friends invited. No visiting hours. Family flowers only. Ann M. Quinlan
HAMPTON - Ann M. Quinlan, of 467 High St., died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, at Exeter Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born in Jersey City, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Peter and Julia (Wallace) O'Malley and was one of 11 children.
She was educated in Jersey City schools and moved to Haverhill, Mass., in 1944 with her husband. She worked as a teller for the former Merrimack Valley National Bank in Haverhill for many years, and later resided in Groveland, Mass., before moving to Hampton in 1980.
From 1979-1998, she wintered in Punta Gorda, Fla., where she was a member of the Punta Gorda Country Club.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church and a former communicant of St. Patrick Church in Groveland, and St. Joseph Church in Haverhill.
She enjoyed life to the fullest. Her energy astounded everyone, as she loved to shop, sing, play golf and enjoyed her exercise class at Positive Steps Fitness Center in North Hampton.
She also was a volunteer in the accounting department at Exeter Hospital, and was a member and volunteer with the Oasis Program at the hospital.
She was the wife of 51 years to the late Thomas F. Quinlan Jr., who died in 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas F. Quinlan III of Bradford, Mass., and Kevin W. Quinlan and his wife, Mary, of Marblehead, Mass.; one daughter, Karen A. Souney and her husband, Joseph, of Hampton; seven grandchildren, Kathleen Quinlan, Christine Quinlan, Thomas F. Quinlan IV, Jennifer Souney, Joseph Souney Jr., Kevin Quinlan, and Liam Quinlan; three brothers, Joseph O'Malley of Toms River, N.J., James O'Malley of Berkeley, N.J., and Francis O'Malley of St. Lambert, Canada; one sister, Rita McColgan of North Arlington, N.J., and several nieces and nephews.

Adeline M. Miceli
TEWKSBURY, Mass. - Adeline M. (Ferro) Miceli, 77, a well-known resident of Tewksbury for 48 years, died unexpectedly Thursday night, Dec. 27, 2001, at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell.
Born Aug. 15, 1924, in Waltham, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Angelina (DeLuca) Ferro, and resided there until moving to Tewksbury in 1953.
She managed her daughter's dance studio, the Donna Miceli Dance Center, for more than 35 years. In her earlier years, she owned Creations in Flowers company in Tewksbury.
Active in the building of St. William's Parish, she helped organize and produce many fund-raiser talent shows. She was also a former member of the Merrimack Valley Sweet Adelines choral group.
During World War II, she served as a Civil Defense air raid warden in Waltham. In her later years, she volunteered for Alateen, served as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, and especially enjoyed her neighborhood role at Halloween as "Adie the Witch."
She was the wife of Joseph F. Miceli, who died in 1990.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Miceli-Rhodes and her husband, John Rhodes, of Dunstable, and Jeannine and her husband, Jeffrey Martin, of Nashua, N.H.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James J. Miceli of Portsmouth, N.H., Joseph F. and his wife, Laurie (Pellerin) Miceli Jr., of Hudson, N.H.; six grandchildren, Thomas Rhodes, Ricky, Timothy, and Amy Pellerin, Justin and Jordan Martin; one brother, Salvatore Ferro of West Newton; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Lena Casella of West Virginia, Grayce Cochoran of Waltham, Rose and her husband, Sam Kabilian, of Weymouth; a sister-in-law, Adeline Pacheco of Arlington; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Vita Cavallo, and Charles, John, and Nancy Ferro.
MICELI - Adeline M. (Ferro) Miceli, 77, of Tewksbury, Mass., died Dec. 27, 2001. Her funeral is Monday at 9 a.m. from the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of Dewey and Main streets (Route 38) Tewksbury Center. Funeral Mass on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. William's Church, 1351 Main St. (Route 38) Tewksbury. Visiting hours 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment in Tewksbury Cemetery. Theodore B. Reed
LA QUINTA, Calif. - Theodore B. Reed, 83, formerly of River Bend Circle, Exeter, N.H., died Dec. 8, 2001, as the result of an automobile accident in Cathedral City.
He was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Granville, Mass., the son of William and Ernestine (Gauthier) Reed.
He was a 1936 graduate of Williston Academy, East Hampton, Mass., and a 1940 graduate of Amherst College. He received his master of arts degree in English from Harvard University.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Reed owned and operated a heating business in West Kingston, R.I., for 12 years. He had previously worked for Sterling Radiator Co. in Westfield, Mass., for 40 years. He had devoted his energies in recent years to a wild-blueberry business in New Brunswick, Canada.
Upon retirement, he formed Friends of the Eastern Panther, a nonprofit organization to prove the existence of the eastern panther in northern New England and New Brunswick.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Sampson) Reed of Indio; five children, Alan Leaf of Peoria, Ariz., Mary Reed Widom of Pittsburgh, Pa., William Reed of Piedmont, Kathleen Reed of Chicago, and Michael Reed of New York; nine grandchildren; and one brother, John Reed of Westfield, Mass.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Martha (Moriarty) Reed.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Jan. 5 at 10 a.m. in Holy Name Church, Dickinson Street, Springfield, Mass.

Howe M. Stoddard Jr.
NOTTINGHAM - Howe M. Stoddard Jr., 67, of 163 Stevens Hill Road, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
He was born in Boston, April 17, 1934, the son of the late Howe M. and Edna (Andrews) Stoddard, and moved to the Seacoast area when his parents bought a local cabin business.
Mr. Stoddard attended local schools and graduated from Amesbury (Mass.) High School. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1952, the Air Force a few years later and then the Army, where he retired after 21 years of service.
He spent two tours of duty in Vietnam, received two Bronze Medals, an Army Commendation Medal, an Air Force Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
After retiring from the Army he went on to serve 20 years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in precision measurement electronics. He also had been active in the commercial fishing business for more than 20 years.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ in North Hampton and American Legion Post 67 of Newmarket. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed traveling and camping with his family.
He was the husband of Carol A. (Chauncey) Stoddard for 44 years.
In addition to his wife, family members include one son, Steven B. Stoddard of Stratham; five daughters, Robin S. Comeau of Hampton, Diana L. Stoddard of Lee, Jill E. Stoddard of Nottingham, Mary Anne Stoddard of North Hampton, and Angela M. Cianci of Kittery, Maine; 10 grandchildren; and one brother, Douglas B. Stoddard of Seabrook.
He was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Stoddard.
STODDARD - Howe M. Stoddard Jr., 67, of 163 Stevens Hills Road, Nottingham, died Dec. 23, 2001. Services will be held at the United Church of Christ, 295 Atlantic Ave., North Hampton, Saturday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cam Neely Foundation, 30 Winter St., Second Floor, Boston, MA 02108.
