Lorraine Borgatti
CENTER OSSIPEE - Lorraine Borgatti, 81, of Old Rt. 16, died October 15, 2000 at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro. She was born August 25, 1919 in Haverhill, Mass., the daughter of the late Angelo and Albina (Bouley) Borgatti. She moved to California where she raised her family, then she moved to Center Ossipee 10 years ago.
She was an active member of the Ossipee Concerned Citizens and a member of the Ossipee Historical Society. She loved to write children's stories and enjoyed photography, often helping the historical society.
She is survived by her two sons, Frederick Klingler of Markleville, Nevada and Lawrence Klingler of New Port Coast, Calif.; two daughters, Dori Klingler of Center Ossipee and Patricia Klingler of Denver, Colo.; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Loretta Klingler. She is also survived by a brother, Richard Borgatti of Center Ossipee and two sisters, Gloria Borgatti of Amesbury, Mass. and Ramona Mailloux of Long Beach, Calif.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Friday, Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. at the Chickville Cemetery in Center Ossipee.

Barbara (Brown) Savary
MADISON - Barbara (Brown) Savary, 47, of Savary Road in Silver Lake, died Oct. 15, 2000, in Shelburne from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
She was born March 20, 1953 in Laconia, the daughter of the late William H. and Jenita (Richardson) Brown. In 1971 she married Benjamin J. Brown and moved to their home in Silver Lake. She had been employed as an administrative assistant at the International Paper Company in Madison.
Barbara was a 1971 graduate of Kingswood Regional High School, Wolfeboro. She served as supervisor of the checklist in Madison. She was active in the Carroll County 4H.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Jenifer Garside, of Epping, and Michelle Savary, of Northfield, Vt.; a sister, Marjorie Brown, of Fryeburg, Maine; a brother Ronald Brown, of Dover; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Brown.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Madison Church, Madison. Burial will be in the Lyman Cemetery, Silver Lake.

Benjamin J. Savary
MADISON - Benjamin J. Savary, 52, of Savary Road in Silver Lake, died Oct. 15, 2000, in Shelburne from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born on July 28, 1948, in North Conway, the son of the late Austin and Violet (Hulet) Savary. In 1971 he married Barbara Brown and moved to their home in Silver Lake.
He was a 1967 graduate of Kennett High School and worked as a self-employed building contractor. He was a member of the Manchester HOG (Harley Owners Group) and a member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his loving daughters Jenifer Garside, of Epping, and Michelle Savary, of Northfield, Vt.; three brothers Richard Savary, of Madison, Zantford Savary, of Deering, and Thomas Savary, of Silver Lake; four sisters, Nona Davis, of Loudon, Nancy Clifton, of Deering, Sarah Brown, of Belmont, and Barbara Ordway, of North Ryegate, Vt.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Ira Savary, and a sister, Bessie Drew.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial services will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Madison Church, Madison. Burial will be in the Lyman Cemetery, Silver Lake.

Carol Eisele Schulte
MADISON - Carol Eisele Schulte, of Silver Lake, formerly of Upper Montclair, N.J., died on Oct. 5, 2000. She was 71.
She is survived by her husband Frederick; her brother Robert; her children Robin, Laurie and Scott; and her grandchildren Lee, Drew, Taylor, Devan and Logan.
Donations may be made to either the National Parkinson Foundation or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. at The Madison Church in Madison.
John Wyllys Keeney
JACKSON - John Wyllys Keeney, 74, of Jackson, died Oct. 17, 2000, at Memorial Hospital in North Conway from complications of lung disease.
He was the son of the late Wyllys and Regina (Smith) Keeney and was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.
He graduated from Malvern High School, Long Island, N.Y., and the University of Maine, class of 1950.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines and in Korea.
He was associated with the Robert Gair Company and Continental Can Company before moving to Jackson in 1960.
He succeeded the late Kellogg Boynton in managing the Wildcat Inn and Tavern for several years.
In 1966, Mr. Keeney became involved in the real estate business as a broker and business investor with Badger Realty Corp., in North Conway, remaining active until his death.
His greatest joy was sailing his boat, Swept Away, on the Maine coast. He also enjoyed skiing, hiking, fishing, gardening, classical music and his home on Carter Notch Road in Jackson..
Mr. Keeney was a member of the White Mountain Board of Realtors and a former North Conway Rotarian. He served as a selectman and planning board member for the town of Jackson and was a member of the New Hampshire Association of Water Systems. He was a founding member of both the Jackson Tennis Club and the Jackson Ski Touring Foundation, where he served on the board of directors for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marcia E. (Croker) Keeney; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Caroline Keeney, of Park City, Utah; two sisters, Colette Vanderveer, of South Egremont, Mass., and Noel McGillen, of Baltimore, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass in celebration of his life will be held on Friday, Oct. 20, at noon at Our Lady of the Mountains Church in North Conway.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Memorial Hospital, P.O. Box 5001, North Conway, NH, or the Jackson Public Library, Jackson, NH.

Anna L. Garland
CONWAY - Anna L. Garland, 88, died Oct. 16, 2000, at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway, following a brief illness.
Born in Manchester, the daughter of Max and Therese (Blank) Lein, she moved to North Conway in 1935.
Garland graduated from Plymouth Normal School in Plymouth in 1931. She taught in the elementary schools in Chocorua, East Conway and North Conway for a total of 30 years, retiring from the John Fuller School in 1964. She was a member of the Conway Retired Teachers Association.
Garland was an avid painter and had done landscape painting for over 25 years
Her family includes two brothers, Max Lein of Manchester and Carl Lein of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Florence E. Maker of Manchester; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Lawrence A. Garland, predeceased her in 1999.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Intervale Cemetery, with the Rev. William R. Stockhaus, pastor of the Glen Community Baptist Church, officiating. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.

George R. Nickerson Jr
ROCHESTER - George R. Nickerson Jr., 83, of Rochester, died Oct. 15, 2000, in Dover.
He was born Jan. 22, 1917, in Fryeburg, Maine, the son of the late George R. and Irma (Alley) Nickerson. He lived in Madison for several years before moving to Ossipee in 1955, where he lived until moving to Rochester in 1962.
He had worked for the Dube & Murphy Oil Company in Center Ossipee for several years and later worked for Rudy Perreault in Rochester and most recently for the Dupont Oil Service of Rochester.
He was a U.S. World War II Army veteran and a member of the VFW in Salem and the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his wife, Alice (Whitehouse) Nickerson, of Rochester; a son, Brian R. Nickerson, of Rochester; three stepsons, Robert Higgins of South Berwick, Richard Higgins of San Diego, Calif., and Warren Wheeler, of Madison; two stepdaughters, Marsh Strout, of Claremont, and Marguerite Phinney, of Wildwood, Fla.; several great and great grandchildren; two brothers, Wilford Nickerson, of Preston, Conn., and Lawrence Nickerson, of Chocorua; four sisters, Caroline Wilkinson, of Keene, Martha Powich, of Groton, Conn., Emily Anthony, of Tamworth, and Edna Stall, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Wendell Nickerson, of Center Ossipee.
Call hours will be Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Freedom.
