Norma P. Stimson
Norma P. Stimson, 78, of Conway, died Dec. 9, 2000, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland following a brief illness.
Born in Center Harbor, the daughter of Clarence and Maude (Moulton) Nichols, she lived in Laconia for a couple of years before moving to Conway in 1946. Mrs. Stimson graduated from Meredith High School.
She worked at the former Stone the Druggist in Conway for several years as a clerk and bookkeeper. She also was a bookkeeper at the former Stimson's Garage in Conway for 15 years prior to retiring in 1992.
She had been a member of the Conway Women's Club.
The family includes her husband of 56 years, Gordon L. Stimson, of Conway; two sons, Daniel C. Stimson, of Conway, and Dennis C. Stimson and his wife, Linda, of Baldwinsville, NY; a daughter, Diana C. O'Toole and her husband, Kenneth, of Tewksbury, Mass.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Conway Village Congregational Church, with the Rev. Alfred J. Gagnon III, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Conway Village Cemetery. Visiting hours will be today, Tuesday, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.

Jane Borland Morrison
Jane Borland Morrison passed away on Dec. 8, 2000, in Waltham, Mass., at the age of 85.
She was born in Monongahela, Pa., on March 6, 1915, to Charles Diehl Borland and Elsie McCoy Borland. She went to school in Monongahela and went on to Carnegie Tech University where she studied art, and the Pennsylvania Museum School of Industrial Art in Philadelphia.
On Sept. 21, 1940, she married Dr. John L. Morrison, and they eventually settled in Waltham, Mass., where they lived the rest of their lives. They summered in their home in West Ossipee.
Jane was an accomplished artist, with landscapes and seascapes in oil being her favorite motifs. She was also an avid photographer, winning many competitions for her inspiring photographs. She volunteered countless hours at The Waltham Hospital Thrift Shop, where she was known for her kindness, generosity and wonderful sense of humor. She always had a good joke and would always say that as long as you had your sense of humor, things would be okay. Jane was also an avid bridge player who was hard to beat. She always had a book to read, and she passed on her love of reading to her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of the Copley Society, the Lexington Art Guild, the Waltham Camera Club and also the Twinbrook Camera Club. Active in neighborhood and her children's activities, she was a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader and also belonged to The Piety Corner Club and would often amaze members with her Halloween costumes at the yearly party. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother to her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. John L. Morrison, and their four children, John Morrison and his wife Mary-Anne of Arlington, Mass., Charles Morrison of Scarborough, Maine, Jane Morrison Davidson and her husband Rick of Freedom, and Tom Morrison and his wife Bettina of Abtsgmuend, Germany. Her grandchildren are Benjamin and Elizabeth Morrison, of Arlington, Mass., Jesse Morrison of Cambridge, Mass., Johanna, Gretchen and Heidi Davidson of Freedom, and Katharina and and Daniel Morrison of Germany. She is also survived by her brother, William Borland of Maryland, and nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her twin brother, Charles Borland, and her sister, Virginia Hill.

Frances C. McAllister
CHATHAM - Frances C. McAllister, 78, of North Chatham, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at the Maine Medical Center.
She was born in North Windham, the daughter of Henry and Gladys Mayberry Shaw, and was educated in Windham and Sweden schools. She has lived in Chatham most of her life and worked a short time for the House of Color. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and being a homemaker.
Her husband, Orman A. McAllister Sr., died in 1998.
She is survived by three sons, Robert O. McAllister of Skowhegan, and Wayne A. McAllister and Orman A. McAllister Jr., both of North Chatham; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Jean T. Leske
DENMARK - Jean T. Leske, 85, of Denmark, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at the Bridgton Health Care Center.
She was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., the daughter of Earl and Florence Dudley Tobey. She graduated from House in the Pines High School in Norton, Mass., and also from Vassar College in New York. She was a Navy pilot during World War II and was a navigational instructor and an aerial photographer. She moved to this area in 1967 from Nantucket, Mass., and owned and operated the White Horse Stables and the White Horse General Store, both in North Conway.
She is survived by one son, Tobey R. Leske, of Nantucket, Mass.; one daughter, Nancy Leske of Denmark; one brother, Guilford Tobey of Marblehead, Mass.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Nantucket, Mass.
Local arrangements are with Wood Funeral Home in Fryeburg.
Mary (Lord) Kirkwood
FREEDOM - Mary (Lord) Kirkwood, 75, of Ossipee Lake Road in Freedom, died Dec. 8, 2000, at her home.
She was born Jan. 23, 1925, the daughter of the late John A. and Laura Mae (Knight) Lord of West Ossipee, and she lived in Ossipee most of her life before moving to Freedom 12 years ago. She attended grammar school in West Ossipee and later attended Ossipee High School in Center Ossipee.
She was a member of the West Ossipee Women's Club and a member of the First Congregational Church Ladies Aid.
An avid golfer, she was a member of the Province Lake Golf Club and a member of the Indian Mound Golf Club in Center Ossipee. She was active in the Women's Twilight League as well as the State Ladies League. She also had a love of gardening.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence D. Kirkwood.
She is survived by her loving children, Bonnie Nystedt, of West Ossipee, Laurinda Barr, of Merrimack, Deborah K. Harkins, of Ossipee, Victoria Kirkwood, of Rochester, and Cynthia Mamigonian, of Dover; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; a brother, Rolland W. Lord, of West Ossipee; two sisters, Charlotte Boisse, of Hookset, and Edna Kennard, of Center Ossipee; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be today, Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lord Funeral Home, 50 Moultonville Road, Center Ossipee. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Ossipee Valley Bible Church, Route 16, West Ossipee. Rev. John Aron, pastor, will official. Burial will be in the Ossipee Valley Cemetery, West Ossipee.

Jared Dana Brown
WOLFEBORO - Jared Dana Brown, 19, of Pine Hill Road, died Dec. 9, 2000 from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Wolfeboro.
He was born May 17, 1981, in Rochester, N.H., the son of Helena Belle (Andersson) Brown and Douglas M. Brown, and had lived in Wolfeboro most of his life. After graduating from Kingswood High School, Wolfeboro, N.H., in June 2000, Jared enrolled in the Laconia Technical School for Graphic Arts, Laconia, N.H., and worked at Ciccarone's Pizza in Wolfeboro.
As a child, Jared loved to play baseball and as a teenager he loved basketball, playing as a member of the Kingswood High School Varsity Basketball team. He also loved snowboarding. He had the gift to love people, making them laugh, care, and feel happy.
Jared belonged to the First Congregational Church, Center Ossipee, N.H., since he was born.
Jared's family members include his mother and stepfather, Helena Belle and R. Gerry Hammer of Wolfeboro, N.H.; his father and stepmother, Douglas M. and Marie E. Brown, West Ossipee, N.H.; his sisters, Annalese R. Brown, Wolfeboro, N.H., and Cassandra E. Brown, West Ossipee, N.H.; his brothers, Hudson G. Hammer, Wolfeboro, N.H., and Matthew M. Brown, West Ossipee, N.H. He is also survived by his stepbrother, Ricky G. Hammer, Wolfeboro, N.H.; his maternal grandmother, Barbara W. Andersson, Limerick, Maine; his paternal grandfather, Gordon L. Brown, North Conway; his paternal great-grandmother, Alice C. Brown, Swampscott, Mass.; his aunts, Donna B. Schuler, Windham, N.H., and Ruth A. Andersson, Limerick, Maine; his uncles, Geof S. Brown, Salem, Mass., and Colin S. Squires, South Windsor, Conn.; his great-uncles, Wendell H. Berry, Newport, N.H., and Roger Brown, Zypsum, Colo.; his cousins, Deborah Bally, Visalia, Calif., Jed Berry, Missoula, Mont., Kirsten L. Schuler, Windham, N.H., and Kurt W. Schuler, Windham, N.H.
Visiting hours for Jared will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lord Funeral Home, Route 28, Wolfeboro, N.H. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m., at the First Congregational Church, Family Life Center of Ossipee, N.H. Pastor David Morgan will officiate.

Frances (Moore) Chapman
There will be a memorial service on Friday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church on Route 25 in Tamworth for Frances (Moore) Chapman of Chocorua who died on November 25, 2000.
