Barbara M. Bogrett
HAMPTON - The funeral for Barbara M. Bogrett, 80, of 98 Exeter Road, who died Aug. 8, 2000, was held Friday at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory.
The Rev. Deborah Knowlton, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiated.
Burial followed in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, with the committal service conducted by the Rev. Knowlton.
Pallbearers were Michael Hodge, Charles Hodge, Christopher Hodge, Mark Bogrett, Alex Bogrett, and Daniel Lukegood.
Charles N. Perkins
PORTSMOUTH - Charles N. Perkins, 54, of 245 Middle St., died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, at his home.
Born July 12, 1946, in Portsmouth, he was the son of Neva May (Smith) Perkins of Portsmouth and the late William H. Perkins.
He had been employed as a construction worker and as a maintenance worker in apartment complexes in the Concord area. He also had been a lobsterman with William Marconi.
A member of Bethel Assembly of God in Portsmouth, he was an avid fisherman, hunter and motorcyclist. He was a member of the Fish & Game Association in Pembroke, N.H.
In addition to his mother, survivors include five daughters, Melissa Perkins of Tilton, N.H., Tammy Swett of Concord, N.H., Amy Gouin of Concord, N.H., Jennifer Astbury of Portsmouth, and Charlene Perkins of Sanford, Maine; five grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Emerton and Frances M. Gobbi, both of Portsmouth; a half-brother, Martin Burns of Berwick, Maine; several nieces and nephews; and his longtime companion, Bonnie Coleman of Dover.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Beatrice Henshaw, Ida Clairborne and Jeannette Tibbetts; a brother, Robert Burns; and twin grandsons.
PERKINS - Mr. Charles N. Perkins, 54, of 245 Middle St., Portsmouth, N.H., died Aug. 10, 2000. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., Portsmouth. Friends invited. Visiting hours 6-8 p.m. Monday at the chapel. James H. Page Sr.
KENNEBUNK - James H. Page Sr., 79, of Portside Assisted Living in Kennebunk, died recently after a brief illness.
Born April 23, 1921, in Dorchester, Mass., the son of Leslie H. and Katherine (McDonough) Page. He was a resident of Portsmouth for 50 years.
He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Portsmouth. He graduated from the Boston School of Trade. He was a sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the American Postal Workers Union and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1981. Mr. Page was a Scoutmaster of Troup 158 of the Boy Scouts of America and served as a Neighborhood Commissioner. He was active with Seacoast Birthright in support of his wife Mary.
He enjoyed a life of kindnesses toward family, friends and neighbors.
He was predeceased by his wife Mary Bauer Page.
He is survived by his daughters Catherine Page of Center Strafford, N.H; Patricia Whittier and husband Bruce of Lebanon, Conn.; Maureen Page-Kelly and husband Brian of Kennebunk; JoAnn Page Hodgdon and husband Dave of Greenland, N.H.; sons, James H. Page Jr., of Nottingham, N.H.; and Dennis Page and wife Nikki of Whitefield, N.H.; nine grandchildren, James and Amanda Page, Robert and Travis Page-Auger, Rachel, Dennis, Michael and Bonnie Page and David J. Lippmeier; sister, Katherine Martenson of Portsmouth.
PAGE - James H. Page, Sr., 79, of Portside Assisted Living in Kennebunk, Me., died recently after a brief illness. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Immaculate Conception Church, Portsmouth. Elsie E. Howe
SOMERSWORTH - Elsie E. Howe, 56, of 356 Main St., died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at the Maine Medical Center in Portland, after a one year illness.
Born in Portsmouth on Aug. 28, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William and Edna R. (Ainsworth) Adams. She had resided in Berwick and for four years in Rochester, before moving here two months ago.
She was an attendant at the Hilltop Laundermat in Somersworth for four years. She was a very good volunteer for the Strafford County Community Action Headstart program and the Rochester Outreach Office where she was fondly known as the "Mitten Lady," as she made mittens and other homemade crafts.
She was the wife of George H. Howe Jr., of Somersworth for 37 years.
In addition to her husband, survivors include four daughters, Terry L. D'Ambroise of Rochester, Alta M. Perrault of Somersworth, Jodie L. Howe of Manchester, Amy M. Poitras of South Berwick, Maine; seven grandchildren; a sister, Carol Milton of Lucasville, Ohio; three half-sisters, Paula Adams of Saco, Maine, Trudy Webber of Limerick, Maine, Ruth McKenna of Gray, Maine.; a half-brother William Adams of Yarmouth, Maine, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by a son George W. Howe who died in 1986, and a half-brother Ben Gagne.
HOWE - In Somersworth, Aug. 9, Elsie E. Howe of Somersworth. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home, 301 Main St., South Berwick. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Roy Reynolds, pastor of Free Will Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, South Berwick.
Eligah M. Kinard
ROCHESTER —Elijah Maurice Kinard, the infant son of Maurice and Sherema (Robinson) Kinard, of 35 Charles St., died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, shortly after birth.
In addition to Elijah's parents, family members include his half-brother Jamal Maurice Kinard of Somersworth; two half-sisters, Dominique Lucille Kinard, and Desiree Diamond Kinard of Somersworth; paternal grandmother, Lucille Kinard of Bronx, N.Y.; maternal grandmother, Cynthia Sims of Portsmouth; maternal grandfather, Ricardo Knight of Portsmouth; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Marshall E. Kulberg
HAMPTON - Marshall E. Kulberg, 80, of 173 Winnacunnet Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at Seacoast Health Center, Inc.
Born in Beverly, Mass., on Dec. 10, 1919, he was the son of the late August E. and Judith (Johansen) Kulberg.
He graduated from Beverly High School and received his bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University in Boston. He lived in Massachusetts for many years, moving to Hampton 31 years ago.
He was a veteran of the Navy, serving during World War II.
He worked for GTE Sylvania in Exeter as a design and sales engineer, later working for Merrimack Industrial Sales Company. After his retirement, he volunteered at the Lane Memorial Library in Hampton and enjoyed reading to patients in area nursing homes.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Hampton, a member of the Toastmasters International of Portsmouth and Exeter. He enjoyed bicycling, canoeing and classical music, his favorite being Bach.
He was the husband of Ruth H. (Killam) Kulberg for 56 years.
Family members, in addition to his wife, include three sons, A. Peter Kulberg of Lenox, Mass., John M. Kulberg of Hampton and Karl P. Kulberg of North Hampton; one daughter, Kristina Kulberg of Los Angeles, Calif.; five grandchildren; three brothers, Ralph Kulberg of Boca Raton, Fla., Kenneth Kulberg of St. Germain, Wis., and Gordon Kulberg of Bangor, Maine; one sister, Ann Carlson of Duluth, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
KULBERG - Marshall E. Kulberg, 80, of 173 Winnacunnet Road, Hampton, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 High St., Hampton. Barbara M. Bogrett
HAMPTON - Barbara M. Bogrett, 80, of 98 Exeter Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
Born Dec. 13, 1919, in Elizabeth, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Walter and Eugenia (Heimmel) Bornschein.
She resided in Hampton for more than 55 years coming form Langdon, N.H. She worked at the Hampton Area Chamber of Commerce and for the Withey Press in Seabrook.
Survivors include four children, Linda L. Boudreau of Sun Lakes, Ariz., Carol Hughes of Alexandria, Va., James A. Bogrett of Brentwood, Peter S. Bogrett of Spring Hill, Tenn.; one sister, Dorothy Griffin of Norwalk, Conn., seven grandchildren, one great-grandson, two nieces and a nephew.
BOGRETT - Barbara M. Bogrett of 98 Exeter Road, Hampton, died Aug. 8, 2000. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, at the Remick and Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Katherine McIntosh
RYE - Katherine (Elphinstone) McIntosh, 95, died Aug. 5, 2000, at the Webster's at Rye Nursing Home.
Born July 18, 1905, in Ludlow, Mass., she was the daughter of James E. and Elizabeth (MacCormack) Elphinstone. She lived most of her life in the Springfield, Mass. area before moving to Cape Cod in 1976. married Sept. 27, 1930 to the late David M. McIntosh Jr., they had two daughters, Jean McDowell (deceased) and Janet M. Brown of Rye.
She sang in the choir and was an active member of the Old First Church in Springfield and the First Congregational Church of Yarmouth. She did volunteer work for the Red Cross Blood Bank, Meals on Wheels, and the Shriners Hospital. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Daughters of the Nile. In 1998, after her husband died, she moved to Webster's at Rye.
Survivors include a daughter Janet and her husband, Robert; grandsons, Richard S. and Steven G. McDowell; a brother, James Elphinstone; and several nieces and nephews.
MCINTOSH - Katherine (Elphinstone) McIntosh, 95, died Aug. 5, 2000. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Yarmouth Port, Mass. Contributions in her memory may be made to the David McIntosh Scholarship Fund, Highland Light Scottish Society, Box 341, Yarmouth Port, Mass., or the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, Mass. Catherine P. McKeel
NEWBURGH, N.Y. - Catherine Pauline McKeel, 86, of Newburgh, N.Y. and Kittery, died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh, after a period of failing health.
Born May 9, 1914, in New Windsor, N.Y., she was the daughter of Dmytro Cheesman and Pauline Lysco. She was the widow of Charles S. McKeel Sr., who died in 1969.
She received recognition and appreciation from the U.S. military for sending care packages to U.S. servicemen during Vietnam.
Survivors include one son, Charles S. McKeel Jr. and his wife, Eileen, of Kittery; one daughter, Paula Lewis and her husband, Clarence, of Newburgh; one brother, Andrew Cheesman and his wife, Florence, of Newburgh; grandchildren, Terry Poulin and her husband, Rick, of South Berwick, Patricia McKeel of Portsmouth, Cindy McKeel-Davis of Kittery, Daniel McKeel and his wife, Catherine, of South Berwick, Kevin Seeley and his wife, Patricia, of Brookfield, Conn., Karen Palen and her husband, Frank, of Pine Bush, N.Y., Kent Seeley and his wife, Tina, of Duncan, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Roxanne Poulin, Nicolle and Sarah Davis, Kaitlin McKeel, Kevin and Patrick Seeley, Shannon and Dayton Palen and Kaitlin and Kyle Seeley.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Dolores Seeley of Wallkill, N.Y.; two brothers Peter and Michael Cheesman and one sister, Anna Sylvester, all of Newburgh, N.Y.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
Collette Sanborn
NEWMARKET - Collette (Lyon) Sanborn, 33, of Beech Street, died Aug. 6, 2000, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a sudden illness.
Born May 19, 1967, in Laconia, she was the daughter of Ronald E. and Josette (Larre) Lyon. She was raised in Munsonville, N.H. and has resided in Newmarket for the past 12 years.
She graduated from Stoneleigh-Burnham School in Greenville, Mass. and from the University of New Hampshire.
She was a member and current president of the Newmarket PTA and was chairman of the Board for Linked Together. She also volunteered in the Newmarket Elementary School library and was a substitute teacher at the school. She was a den leader for the Newmarket Cub Scouts. She was employed as a care giver at Sanborn Day Care in Epping.
In addition to her parents of Munsonville, she is survived by her husband, Charles Richard Sanborn; a son, Jared Michael Rowell; a daughter, Kaylee Alison Rowell, all of Newmarket; three brothers, Matthew Lyon and his wife, Stephanie, of Louisville, Colo., Michael Lyon and his wife, Lee, of Middleton, Idaho, Mark Lyon and his wife, Katie, of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; godparents, Duke and Lillian Gee of Kansas City, Kan.; six nieces and nephews; several aunts and uncles.
SANBORN - Collette (Lyon) Sanborn, 33, of Beech Street, Newmarket, died Aug. 6, 2000. Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., Thursday, at the Kent and Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter St., Newmarket. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, in Prospect Cemetery, Epping, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., from the United Methodist Church, Hampton, with the Rev. Carroll Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Newmarket PTA, Collette Sanborn Fund, 243 South Main St., Newmarket, NH 03857.
Marion Lee Flanders
DOVER - Marion "Midge" Lee Flanders, 79, formerly of Hill Street and more recently of 2 Victoria St., York Harbor, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at the Sentry Hill Nursing Home after a period of failing health.
Born Nov. 28, 1920, she was the daughter of Earl Seavy "Pop" and Margaret (Clifford) Flanders.
She was a graduate of Dover High School, Class of 1938, and a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Class of 1943.
She assisted in the war effort with the U.S. Government Post Engineers Office, Camp Langdon in New Castle and Sylvania Electric Products in Dover, as the executive plant manager's secretary. She then pursued her career in banking, taking a position of office manager at the Devonshire Financial Service, an out-of-state affiliate of the Shawmut Bank of Boston, a job which she thoroughly enjoyed for more than 20 years when they closed the loan offices and moved back to Boston.
She then was asked to open a loan department with the Portsmouth Trust Company and remained there as loan officer for 20 years when BankEast assumed ownership and she took an early retirement to resume other responsibilities at home.
She enjoyed ballroom dancing, boating, skiing and gardening. She also enjoyed photography and varied types of interior decoration. She collected whatever took her fancy. She had a great respect for nature and especially loved cats.
She and her parents spent their summers in York as did her maternal grandparents, dating back to the mid-1800s. Her happiness came from the roar of the ocean, the plaintive cry of the gulls and of the Isles of Shoals.
She was a member of the Northern Colonists of Dover, the Isles of Shoals Historical Research, Woodman Institute of Dover, Old York Historical Society and Friends of Odiorne Point.
She is survived by Arlene Richards of Somersworth; Mr. and Mrs. Keith Lewis of Cape Porpoise, Maine; and many other good friends.
FLANDERS - Marion 'Midge' Lee Flanders, 79, formerly of Hill Street, Dover, and more recently of 2 Victoria St., York Harbor, died Friday Aug. 4, 2000. There will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements under the direction of the Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover.
John O. Gunderson
KITTERY - John O. Gunderson, 86, of 21 Manson Ave., Foxwell of Kittery, died Sunday, July 9, 2000, at York Hospital.
Born July 24, 1913, in Boston, he was the son of the late Gustav and Marget (Oxhovd) Gunderson.
Before his retirement, he was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a machinist.
He was a member of Naval Lodge No. 184 AF & AM of Kittery, for more than 50 years and was a volunteer for many years for the Kittery Point Fire Department.
Survivors include a son, Lance F. Gunderson of Kittery Point; a daughter, Joan Vincent of St. Vincent, Italy; two brothers, Arthur Gunderson of Long Meadow, Mass., and George Gunderson of Northampton, Mass.; three grandsons, Lance, Matthew and Jonathan Gunderson of Kittery; and former wife, Martha B. Gunderson of Deer Isle, Maine.
There are no funeral services planned.
