Angelina W. Kennedy

HAMPTON - The funeral for Angelina W. Kennedy, 84, of 1 Central Road, Rye, was held Saturday from the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Theresa Church. The Rev. Maurice Lavigne, pastor, was celebrant. Salvatore DiVincenzo was acolyte. Judith Kish was organist and pianist, and Mary Louise Arcidi was soloist and cantor.

The pall was placed on the casket by her daughter, Karolyn K. Pescosolido, and son Frank P. Kennedy. The readings were offered and the gifts were presented to the altar by her grandchildren, Kate, John and Meg Kennedy, and Nick, Angie and Betsy Pescosolido.

Words of remembrance were offered by daughter-in-law Kathleen Kennedy. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dover, with the rite of committal conducted by the Rev. Lavigne. Pallbearers were Frank P. Kennedy, Tony Pescosolido, Nick Pescosolido and John Kennedy. Photo remembrances were captured by D. Murphy.

Allison M. Leverone

HAMPTON BEACH - Allison M. Leverone, 13, of 461 Ocean Blvd., died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

Born Feb. 3, 1986, in Malden, Mass., she was the daughter of Stephen A. and Joan M. (Fitzgerald) Leverone of Hampton Beach. She was a student at Hampton Academy Junior High School, where she played soccer, basketball and softball. She was the editor of the Academy Times, the school newspaper.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church and a member of the children's choir. She enjoyed acting and performed in plays at the Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth.

In addition to her parents, survivors include two brothers, Stephen A. Leverone Jr. and Jonathan M. Leverone, both of Hampton Beach; a sister, Emily M. Leverone of Hampton Beach; her maternal grandmother, Margaret E. Fitzgerald of Winchester, Mass.; her paternal grandparents, Anthony L. and Margaret M. Leverone of Wilmington, Mass.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

M. Louise Goss

NORTH HAMPTON - M. Louise Goss, 88, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Born Dec. 19, 1910, in North Hampton, she was the daughter of the late Asa A. and Emma (Brown) Booker. She was a graduate of Centennial High School and a 1928 graduate of the Robinson Female Seminary in Exeter. She was a lifelong resident of North Hampton.

She worked as a correspondent for the Portsmouth Herald, covering the town of North Hampton for a number of years, and was the person who had the vision of restoring the Centennial Hall School.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ, the Ladies Union of the church, and of the Bush and Bud Garden Club, all of North Hampton.

She was the wife of the late Richard I. Goss, who died in 1990.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn G. Brooks of North Hampton, two grandchildren, Lee G. Brooks of North Hampton, and Susan Brooks of Hampton; a sister, Virginia Booker of Concord; a nephew and three nieces.

David L. Fernald

COATESVILLE, Pa. - David L. Fernald died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at his home.

Born in Portsmouth, he was the son of the late Leroy P. and Barbara (Clapp) Fernald.

A computer programmer, he was employed by Comcast. He also worked for Honeywell for 10 years and Colonial Penn Insurance Co. for 15 years. He was very active in his community and was involved in West Bradford Youth Athletics, where he coached various soccer, basketball and hockey teams, for over 10 years.

David was a member of the East Brandywine Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and was on the board of Christian Education, for the past 22 years. He sang in the senior choir and was a Praise Team leader for several years. David was a former Sunday School teacher and youth advisor. He also loved to hunt and golf.

He was the husband of Joyce (Schwenzfeier) Fernald for 34 years.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Jennifer D. Dunn of Phoenixville, Pa. and Brian D. Fernald of Coatesville; a granddaughter, Cassidy Rose Dunn; three sisters, Donna Ahern of Rochester, Debra Pirini of Wells and Diane Couture of Barrington.

Mildred E. LaForge

WOODLAND, Calif. - Mildred E. LaForge, 73, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at her residence.

Born Feb. 22, 1926, in Exeter, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Mildred (Reynolds) Quinn.

A graduate of Hampton Academy, she worked at the former Hytron Company in Newburyport, Mass. She moved to Woodland over 30 years ago from Hampton and was employed by Mobil Chemical for 25 years.

Survivors include two sisters, Barbara Martell of Kittery Point, and Kathleen Job of Ridgeville, S.C.; a brother, Robert Quinn of Key West, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Cornelius S. Crowley

MANCHESTER - Cornelius Stephen Crowley, 95, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, at Catholic Medical Center after a brief period of illness.

Born Aug. 15, 1903, in Portsmouth, he was the son of Cornelius and Ellen (Cronin) Crowley. He was a longtime resident of Portsmouth and was recently living in Fort Lauderdale. After retiring, he spent his time in Florida and North Conway, N.H.

After beginning work at age 16 at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, he retired after 39 years as a personnel supervisor.

In Portsmouth, he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. In Melbourne, Fla., he was chosen Man of the Year at Ascension Church, where he was an active volunteer. He was awarded the Order of St. Patrick at Maynooth College in Ireland for his extraordinary service to the church.

He was the husband of the late Ruth (Hargreaves) Crowley. They were married 67 years.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Crowley of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Frank Crowley of Bedford, N.H.; two daughters, Sharon Bryan of Palm Bay, Fla., and Sally Conlon of Pinehurst, N.J.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Billings and Agnes Crowley, both of Portsmouth; and several nieces and nephews.

James L. Fisk
ELIOT - James L. Fisk, of 11 Bolt Hill Road, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, in his home after a period of illness.

Born in Portland, he was the son of Harold N. and Mildred (Sawyer) Fisk. He attended Portland public schools and was a graduate of Deering High School. He also attended Diesel Engineering School in Portland and Boston.

A major in the Air Force, he began his military career when he enlisted in the Army Air Corps as an airplane and engine mechanic. He became an instructor in aircraft power plants at Chanute Field in Illinois. During World War II, he was a bombardier, flying 65 missions in B-25 Mitchell bombers over Italy and southern France. He was decorated with the Air Medal and the Soldiers Medal. After the war, he served in the Air Force in Alaska, California and Kansas, and retired from Pease Air Force Base.

For 23 years, he also worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a calibration engineer, retiring in 1983.

In Portsmouth, he attended Central Baptist Church for 30 years, where he served as chairman of the trustees for many years and drove the Sunday school bus. He and his wife served as missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators for five years in England and Scotland.

He was the husband of Linda (Hilton) Fisk, for 25 years, and was predeceased by his first wife, Ella N. Fisk.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Norman J. Fisk of Amherst, N.H., and William N. Fisk of Litchfield, N.H.; two daughters, Jeanne L. Glick of Columbus, Pa., and Linda S. Tate of Litchfield; and nine grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Jo Fisk.

Andino J. Fabrizio

PORTSMOUTH - Andino J. Fabrizio, 86, of 4 Melbourne St., died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, at Sunrise Health Center.

Born Aug. 18, 1912, in Penne, Italy, he was the son of Louis and Juliette (Evangalista) Fabrizio. He immigrated to this country in 1915.

He established the A. Fabrizio Plumbing Co. in 1954, which he operated until his retirement in 1982.

He was a member of St. James Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Portsmouth Lodge of Elks.

He was the husband of Mary (DiPlacido) Fabrizio for 60 years.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Ralph Fabrizio and his wife Marie, of Portsmouth, and John Fabrizio and his wife Brenda, of Newmarket; six grandchildren, James Fabrizio, Leanne LaRose, Michael Fabrizio, Elizabeth Kramer, Richard Fabrizio and Joseph Fabrizio; and four great-grandchildren.

Margaret E. Patterson

PORTSMOUTH - Margaret E. Patterson, 78, of 34 Manor Drive, died Sunday, July 4, 1999.

Born July 31, 1920, in Mexico, Maine, she was the daughter of Walter and Florence (Farmer) Dower.

She worked in several shoe shops in Portsmouth. She retired from Diaphragm Industries in Portsmouth in 1985.

She was well-loved by her family and friends.

She was the wife of the late Carl P. Patterson.

Survivors include four daughters, Teddy and her husband Don Paradis, of Exeter, Judy and her husband John Heffernan, of Greenland, Pat and her husband Bob Parrent, of Salem, Ore., and Buzzy Patterson of Portsmouth; one son, Carl P. Patterson Jr., of California; a grandson, John Patterson and his wife Karen, of Quincy, Mass.; seven other grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Reggie Patterson, of Waterville, Maine.

Margaret Josephine McNabb

EPPING - Margaret Josephine McNabb, 83, of 45 Hedding Road, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, after a long battle with cancer.

Born March 5, 1916, in Putney, Vt., she was the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Maloney) Murphy. She grew up in Watertown, Mass., and had lived in Epping for the past 56 years.

She had worked for the Raymond Head Start Program and also Essex Manufacturing Inc. in Newmarket.

A devoted Catholic, she was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Epping.

She was the wife of the late Chester P. McNabb, who died in 1979.

Survivors include seven children, Theresa Hughes of Billerica, Mass., Mary Mann of Kokomo, Ind., Claire Fickett, Phillip McNabb, Catherine LaFrenier, Michael McNabb and Anne Marie McNabb, all of Epping; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Landry of Medford, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.

Constance E. Stimac

PORTSMOUTH - Constance Elder Stimac, 77, of 1190 South St., died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, at her home.

Born Oct. 10, 1921, in Lynnfield, Mass., she was the daughter of Maude Barrett and Edward Mahlon Elder. She was a 1942 graduate of Tufts University with a bachelor's degree in economics, and a 1972 graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a master's of education degree in library science.

She was most recently office manager at the Exeter League of NH Craftsmen, where she worked for more than a decade. Her volunteer work included the Girl Scouts, the Portsmouth Library, A Safe Place, and The United Way. She was also a Red Cross blood donor.

Her interests were extensive; she loved to travel, fly, read, learn, knit, sew, and to share and enrich the lives of others.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Stimac, Larry Howe and Kodiak, with whom she resided; her daughter Thane and Peter Butt; a sister, Priscilla Swartzwelder; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Victoria Butt of Shelburne, Vt.; and Jennifer's and Thane's father, Frank Stimac of Laconia, N.H.

She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Ruth Kairevich, and a brother, Edward Emerson Elder II.

John R. Chapman Sr.

MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Rev. John Rea Chapman Sr., died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at his home in Melbourne after a period of failing health.

He was born May 27, 1908, in Boston. He was a 1930 graduate of Williams College, and a 1933 graduate of the Union Theological Seminary in New York City. He began his ministry as pastor of the First Congregational Church in Asheville, N.C. After serving there for six years, he accepted a position at the Prospect Congregational Church in Cambridge, Mass. In 1946, he was called to the Pilgrim Congregational Church of Leominster, Mass., and served there for nearly 17 years. He then served as pastor of the Payson Park Church, UCC, in Belmont, Mass., for 14 years.

In 1951, he was chosen by the National Council of Churches to be an exchange preacher under the British Council of Churches, under which he preached in 20 churches. As a former chairman of the New England Heifer Project, "Cowboy" Chapman accompanied shipments on dairy cattle to countries in Europe, South America and the Near East.

In 1977, he and his wife retired to their farm in Sandown, N.H., and he served as interim minister with churches in Manchester, Raymond and Atkinson through the State Conference.

In September 1981, he came to Lee Church Congregational as interim minister. He worked to strengthen the church by increasing church membership, presiding over the construction and installation of the church tower and steeple, and encouraging the growth of the choir. He and his wife reluctantly decided to fully retire in 1990.

He was the husband of Deanna Jo (McCurry) Chapman.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, John R. Chapman Jr. of Reno, Nev.
