Christopher Thomas Roy
BERLIN - Christopher Thomas Roy died unexpectedly on June 1, 2004 in Berlin. He received a military funeral on June 11 in Warwick, R.I., his birthplace.
He leaves behind his parents Willard and Constance Roy of Warwick; a brother, Paul Roy; two sisters, Christine Morrisette and Jennifer Cline; and many friends.
Mass will be offered in his name at 9 a.m. Sunday at St. Anne's Church. His soft manner and easy smile will be missed.
Pauline (Theriault) Robichaud
BERLIN--Mrs. Pauline I. (Theriault) Robichaud, 70, of 125 Grafton Street, Berlin, NH, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, of injuries recieved after being hit by an automobile in Berlin, NH.
Mrs. Robichaud was born in Dalton, Vermont, on July 1, 1933. She was the daughter of Alphonse and Emma (Robichaud) Theriault and has resided in Berlin, NH, most of her life. She was a member of St. Kieran Church, now known as the Good Shepherd Parish.
Members of the family include her husband of 50 years, Albert Robichaud of Berlin, NH; two sons, Brian Robichaud and wife Barbara of Aurora, Colorado, and Ronnie Robichaud and friend Linda Mason of Gorham, NH; two sisters, Marjorie Levesque and Jeannette Blanchette, both of Berlin, NH; a step-sister, Joyce Lee Robichaud of North Wales, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Adam Lopez and Christina Robichaud; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Paul "Sonny" Theriault.
Prior to her retirement in 1990 she was employed by the Brown Company and the James River Corporation for 37 years. She was an active volunteer for the Parish working at the food pantry, cleaning the church or helping at the penny sales. She also worked the bingo at the Knights of Columbus. Her favorite pastime was her daily walks, regardless of the weather. She had a bubbly personality and talked and smiled to everyone she met along the way.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at the St. Anne Church of the Good Shepherd Parish. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
Anyone who wishes may contribute to the Food Pantry, the St. Kieren Center for the Arts or the Hostel at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.
The Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Florine Ayotte (Ouellette) Aube
WEST MILAN,NH--Funeral services for Mrs. Florine Ayotte (Ouellette) Aube, 82, of 5 Peabody Rd. West Milan, NH, were held on Thursday morning June 10, 2004 in the chapel of the Bryant Funeral Home in Berlin. Sister Monique Therriault officiated. Interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Many relatives and friends attended the services.
Dorianna L. Walker
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorianna L. Walker of Exeter, NH and formerly of Gorham, NH, were held Thursday, June 17, 2004 at The Holy Family Church in Gorham following prayers at the Bryant Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Reverend Richard Roberge. Interment was in the Holy Family Cemetery with Father Roberge reading the commital prayers. The pall bearers were Dave Goyette, John Walker, Ryan Walker, Carrie Donato, Andy Sherburne and Denis Mercier.
Among those attending the funeral from out of town were Mr. George M. Walker, M/M John M. Walker II, Kelsea Walker, Brittney Walker, Ryan Walker, Russell Walker, Jack Walker, Susanne Iverson and Mary Dee Hanson all of Exeter, NH; M/M Denis Mercier and Chantal Mercier of Limoges, Ontario, Canada; Cynthia Palladino of Stratham, NH; Mrs. Darlene Clark of Augusta, Maine; M/M Larry Micucci of West Buxton, Maine; Mrs. Bernard Faunce of Westbrook, Maine; Susan Howse, Sally Richter and Beverly White of Westbrook and Gorham Maine.
Orial C. Deblois
SHELBURNE--Funeral services for Orial C. Deblois of Shelburne, NH, were held Saturday afternoon, June 5, 2004 in the Bryant Funeral Home, 1 Promenade St., Gorham, NH. Interment was in the Evans Cemetery in Shelburne. The Rev. Bob Plaisted officiated.
The pallbearers were Paul Villnave, Jeremy Villnave, Mike Dugas, Dan Vaiilancourt, Mike Sylverson and Jimmy Williams. Full military honors were extended by members of the White Mountain Post 2520 VFW of Berlin, NH, and members of the U. S. Army stationed at Fort Drum, NY. The detail, under the command of S/Sgt. Dick Ross, consisted of Francis Pelchat, Phil Bedard and Gary Roy. The flag was folded and presented by S/Sgt. Alfred Minton and SPC Robert Ramireg. The bugler was Ron Goyette.

Leopold “Paul” G. Fortin
A Memorial Service with Military Honors was celebrated for Mr. Leopold “Paul” G. Fortin, 70 of Berlin on Friday, June 11th in the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home Chapel, 72 High St., Berlin, NH.
Officiating the service was Deacon Merle Albert. Interment was in St. Kieran Cemetery including the reading of committal prayers.
There were numerous local and out-of-town family members and friends who attended the services and among them were from Gorham, NH, Mr.and Mrs. James W. Fortin, Mr.and Mrs. Paul S. Hurley C. Baylor
DANVILLE, PA--Hurley C. Baylor, 79, of 515 Bloom Street, Danville, PA, 17821, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2004, at his residence. He was born May 4, 1925 in Berlin, New Hampshire, a son of the late Charles W. and Ona (Oldham) Baylor.
Hurley was raised in Berlin and graduated from Berlin High School in 1943. He participated in numerous sports and captained the 1943 basketball team. Hurley was a veteran of World War II, serving three years with the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Yuma and saw action in the South Pacific. Upon honorable discharge he arrived in Danville to join his parents who had recently moved to the area.
A graduate of Bloomsburg State College in 1950, he taught science in the Danville Junior High School until his retirement in 1982. He also worked as the circulation manager of The Danville News for eight years through the 1960s.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 40; Danville Elks; The Danjo Wheelers, a square dance club; and "The Good Old Boys" breakfast club.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Hilda Smith, whom he married on September 11, 1948; four daughters, Diane and her husband John Foster, Debra and her husband Jeffrey Koser, Bonnie Baylor, all of Danville, and Cynthia Gates of Bethel Park, PA; three sons Lawrence Baylor and his wife Vicki, and Steven Baylor, both of Danville, and Michael Baylor of Columbus, Indiana; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond ("Bud") Baylor of Danville and Bradley Baylor of Port Orange, Florida, and one sister, Barbara Hall of Northumberland, Pennsylvania.
Richard G. Laflamme
Mr. Richard G. Laflamme Sr. 80, of Route 16, Milan, NH, passed away on Wednesday December 1, 2004, at the Country Village Health Care Center in Lancaster. He was born in Berlin, on May 8, 1924, the son of George and Georgia (Howard) Laflamme and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. Prior to his retirement in 1981, he was employed by Brown Co. and James River Corporation. Mr. Laflamme was a member of St. Kieran Church, now know as Good Shepherd Parish, a member of White Mountain Post #2520 VFW, the Ryan-Scammon Post #36 American Legion in Berlin, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Elaine Louise (Lemelin) Laflamme of Milan; one daughter Elaine S. (Bunny) Laflamme of Errol; three sons Richard Laflamme Jr. of Readville, Massachusetts, Arthur (Butch) Laflamme of Berlin, and Michael Laflamme Sr. of Berlin; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; three brothers George Laflamme of Milan, Raymond Laflamme of Florida, and Maurice of Laflamme of Berlin; three sisters Jeannette Thibault of Berlin, Doris Laflamme of Berlin, and Irene Savard of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2004 at 9 a.m. in the Chapel of the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, in Berlin with interment in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Anyone who wishes may make a donation in his memory to the Berlin Health Department Nursing Program, City Hall 168 Main Street, Berlin, NH 03570.
Emerance 'Emmy' Lowe
BERLIN--Mrs. Emerance "Emmy" Lowe, 90, formerly of 37 Smyth Street in Berlin, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at the St. Vincent de Paul Health Care Center in Berlin. She was born in Gorham on January 9, 1914, the daughter of Levi and Amie (Coulombe) St. Clair and was a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated from Berlin High School in 1932. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Lowe worked as a secretary in the Purchasing Dept. of Brown Company for many years, she was the executive secretary of the Berlin Chamber of Commerce, she also worked as the secretary and bookkeeper for Head Start at the Community Action Program and was a typist at the Berlin Reporter. She was a member of the St. Kieran Church now know as Good Shepherd Parish, was a member of the St. Kieran Altar Guild, the Berlin-Gorham Women's Club, the Jolly Seniors singing group, and the Gorham Seniors Citizens Club. She was a very loving and caring mother, and a devoted Christian, who will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by one son, Darrell Lowe of Berlin; two daughters, Barbara Thibault of Dunedin, Florida, and Joyce Newman of Dublin, California; four grandchildren, Stacy Dion, Shannon Dion, Jason Thibault and Nicole Newman; one great -grandson, Alex; and one niece, Betty Lou Hanson. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Lowe, and a daughter, Janet Dion.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 6, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Avenue, in Berlin, with interment in the St. Kieran Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Jeanne L. Ouellette
BERLIN--Mrs. Jeanne L. (Caouette) Ouellette, 69, of 377 Burgess St., Berlin, passed away on Thursday morning Dec. 16, 2004 at her home. She was born in Berlin on May 6, 1935, the daughter of Osmond and Mary (Morin) Caouette and has been a lifelong resident. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by the Brown Company. She was a member of the Harvest Christian Fellowship Church in Berlin.
Members of of the family include her daughter, Lisa G. Tupick and her husband Harry of Oldsmar, Fla., three grandchildren, Jacob, Jessica and Jonah; one sister, Pauline Coulombe of Berlin, a niece and three nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lucien E. Ouellette, and by her parents.
A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday morning, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. at the harvest Christian Fellowship Church in Berlin. there will be no calling hours. Private interment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Bryant Funeral Home in Berlin.
Eda Lozeau
BERLIN--A Funeral Service was celebrated for Eda Lozeau, 82 of Berlin on Monday, December 13, 2004 at Fleury-Patry Funeral Home Chapel, 72 High St., Berlin, NH. Interment was in the Russian City Cemetery
The pallbearers included her husband, Roland Lozeau, and sons Raymond, Gene and Roger Aubry and grandsons Matt and Brian Aubry.
There were numerous local and out-of-town family members and friends who attended the services.
George Berube
SACO, ME--George H. Berube, 87, died on April 28, 2005 at his residence. He was born on Dec. 4, 1917, in Gorham, N. H., a son of Joseph H. and Anna Gouin Berube.
He was educated at St. Benedict School in Gorham, N. H. He was employed as a welder for the South Portland Shipyard for four years. He also worked for Saco Lowell Shops for 10 years. He was then employed by the Portsmouth Navel Shipyard for l0 years and later retired from General Electric in South Portland in l98l. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a parishioner of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Saco.
He was preceded in death by: His first wife, Dorothy Gilbert Berube in l980 and one son, Rober Berube in l994.
He is survived by: His wife of 10 years, Barbara Benton Berube of Saco; one son, Richard A. Berube (and his wife Tamara) of Biddeford; one daughter, Marguerite Gagon (and her husband Steve) of Old Orchard Beach; three brothrs, Rene Berube of Groveton, N. H., Oliver Berube of Gorham, N. H., and Norman Berube of Berlin, N. H.; three stepsons, Robert Tozier of Hollis, C. Wayne Tozier of Limerick and Philip Tozier of Tolland, Conn.; two stepdaughters, Penny Hill (and her husband John) of Hollis and Helen Labonte (and her husband Denis) of Saco; seven grandchhildren; l0 step-grandchildren; l0 step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, May 3rd at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Saco. Father Rene officiated.
