Bertrand H. Couture
Longtime Londonderry resident was drywaller
Bertrand H. Couture, 70, of 68 West Road, Londonderry, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, after a lengthy illness.
He had been employed as a drywaller for many years, retiring with Excel Building Systems in Massachusetts.
He was a communicant of St. Mark Parish in Londonderry.
Mr. Couture was born in St. Samuel De Lacque Drolet, Canada, on June 4, 1928, son of the late Alphee and Ludivine (Boulet) Couture. He was a resident of Londonderry for the past 33 years, formerly living in Canada.
Survivors include his wife, Paulette (Turcotte) Couture of Londonderry; two daughters, Kathy Couture of Derry and Sandy Couture of Londonderry; one son, Bryan Couture of Londonderry; several brothers and sisters; two grandchildren, Duggan Couture and Dakota Lee Couture, both of Londonderry; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Peabody Funeral Home in Londonderry is in charge of arrangements.
Robert C. ‘Bob’ Irvine
Nashuan was 53-year member of city country club
Robert C. "Bob" Irvine, 89, of 445 South Main St., Nashua, died Sunday morning, Aug. 30, 1998, at Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare Center in Nashua.
He interrupted his career at the First National Bank of Boston and enlisted in the Navy, serving from March 1942 to October 1945 during World War II. He worked as a civilian employee of the Air Force for many years as an aviation mechanic at Grenier and Hanscom Air Force bases.
A devoted golfer and curler, he was a 53-year member of the Nashua Country Club. He also was a 51-year member of American Legion Post 3 in Nashua.
He was a communicant of St. Patrick Church.
He was a graduate of the Bishop Chevrus High School.
Mr. Irvine was born in Malden, Mass., on July 16, 1909, son of the late Thomas S. and Jennie (Powell) Irvine.
Mr. Irvine was the widower of Dorothy C. (Drum) Irvine. The couple had been married for 50 years. He was also predeceased by two brothers, John E. Irvine of Framingham, Mass., and Charles P. Irvine of Somerville, Mass.; and one sister, Vivian M. Armstrong of Malden, Mass.
Survivors include five nephews, John E. Irvine of Natick, Mass., Eugene C. Irvine of Waltham, Mass., Charles F. Irvine Jr. of Tewksbury, Mass., Robert Irvine of Brandon, Fla., John Irvine of Sandwich, Mass.; one niece, Joan Gregory of Alameda, Calif.; 18 grandnieces and grandnephews; and 18 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
The Zis-Sweeney Funeral Home in Nashua is in charge of arrangements.
Estelle Cunniff
101-year-old woman lived mostly in Tyngsborough
Estelle (Nelson) (Ray) (Strout) Cunniff, 101, of Tyngsborough, Mass., died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, at her residence.
She lived most of her life in Tyngsborough, and was a member of the Tyngsboro Evangelical Congregational Church and also of the Tyngsboro Senior Citizens Club.
She was educated in the New Gloucester (Maine) school system.
Mrs. Cunniff was born in New Gloucester on July 27, 1897, daughter of the late George B. and Luella (Greely) Nelson.
Mrs. Cunniff was the widow of Edward F. Cunniff and Oren Ray.
Survivors include one daughter, Gail Franzen of Gray, Maine; one grandson, George E. Ray Jr. of Tyngsborough; six great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
The Dolan Funeral Home in North Chelmsford, Mass., is in charge of arrangements.
Roland ‘Jimmy’ Hysette
Worked at Green Meadow; lifelong Nashuan
Roland "Jimmy" Hysette, 68, of 7 Swan St., Nashua, died Saturday morning, Aug. 29, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Hysette worked as a heavy equipment operator for Friel Golf Cos., spending most of his time at the Green Meadow Golf Course in Hudson.
He was a member of the Club National in Nashua.
Mr. Hysette attended the Nashua school system.
He was born Dec. 28, 1929, in Nashua, son of the late Arthur and Aurore (Angers) Hysette. He was a lifelong resident of Nashua.
Mr. Hysette was predeceased by his grandson Michael Schofield, who died in December 1971. Michael gave Mr. Hysette the nickname "Pappy."
Survivors include his wife Irene (Szuszkiewicz) Hysette, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Nov. 20; a son, James Hysette of Lyndeborough; three daughters, Susan Schofield and Duane Martin of Alpharetta, Ga., Kim Metcalf and Brian Blood of Groton, Mass., and Louise Hysette of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Armand Hysette of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Bernard Shanahan of Dracut, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
