Imogene McDuffee
Died: Sunday, June 12, 2005
Age: 76

MONUMENT, Colo. - Imogene McDuffee was born the eighth of 10 children to William and Mae Campbell of Mast, N.C., on Feb. 4, 1929. She later moved to Cove and grassy Creek, N.C., where she met her husband to be (Gerry McDuffee) in 1952. She died suddenly June 12, at Air Force Academy Hospital, as a result of Acute Coronary Syndrome.

Jean and Gerry were married on Oct. 1, 1953 and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Frisco, Colo. During those 50 years, Jean raised four loving children while relocating frequently with her Air Force husband across the United States and locations across the Pacific. A model wife, mother, friend and homemaker, Jean was active in her children's school, church and community affairs.

She will also be remembered by her many friends for her kindness, gentleness, genuineness and her knitted afghans.

Jean is survived by her husband Gerry, of Monument, Colo. Two daughters, Sherry Jaspers of Ft. Collins, Colo., and Carol Walters of Littleton, Colo., and a son, David, of Monument, Colo. She is preceded in death by another son, Allan. Jean is also survived by her brother, Luther, of N.C., and two sisters, Lilly of Va., and Mattie of Md. Jean was grandmother to seven : Matthew, Carrie, Ursula, Aaron, Timothy, Colby and Allie; and great-grandmother to five: Anna, Victoria, Cale, Julie and Maya.

Services were held at the Monument Presbyterian Community Church, June 16. Memorial gifts may be made to a favorite Charity or the building fund of the Monument Presbyterian Community Church, 238 3rd St., Monument, CO 80132.

Catherine (Callan) Heinrich
Died: Tuesday, June 07, 2005
Age: 85

LEXINGTON, Mass. —Catherine (Callan) Heinrich, age 85, died on June 7 at Fairlawn Nursing Home in Lexington, Mass., following a lengthy illness.

Heinrich was born in Somerville, Mass., on July 21, 1919, to parents John J. and Pearl (Harding) Callan. Heinrich was a resident of Lexington, Mass., from 1956 until her death, and was a summer resident of Wolfeboro from 1960 to 1991.

Heinrich leaves her sons, Stephen of Lexington, Mass., and Leonard and his wife, Judith, also of Lexington, Mass. She is also survived my many nieces and nephews.

Heinrich was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Frederick. She was also predeceased by her seven sisters: Pearl E. Kane and Evelyn T. Callan of Belmont, Mass.; Lillian Cotter, Rita E. Byrne, and Helen Vadaro of Somerville, Mass.; Marle Rose Forte of Arlington, Mass.; and Ruth M. Timmins of Billerica, Mass.

Services and burial were held on June 13. Heinrich is buried at the Westview Cemetery in Lexington, Mass.

Mildred I. Gault
Died: Saturday, June 04, 2005
Age: 82

WOLFEBORO - Mildred I. Gault, 82, formerly of New Durham, passed away on June 4 surrounded by her family at SunBridge of Wolfeboro

She was born July 14, 1922, the daughter of Charles and Gladys Corson of New Durham. She met and married John Q. Gault and made their home and raised their family in New Durham.

After her marriage, she became a homemaker, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She leaves her daughters: Beverly Wheeler and husband Bill of Rochester; Brenda Capone and husband Alfred of Wolfeboro; Bonnie Brown and husband Billy of Wolfeboro; and her son Glenn Gault and his wife Mellie of Farmington. She also leaves her grandchildren: Doug Paradis of Farmington, Amelia Capone of Wolfeboro, Jay Capone of Portsmouth, Jamie Capone of Wolfeboro, Eric Collins of Alton, and Sarah Collins of Manchester; her great-grandchildren: Daniel Adjutant of Farmington, Douglas Paradis of Farmington, and Landon Collins of Alton. She also is survived by her brother James Miller and wife Beulah of Freemont; her sister, Marjorie Rowe of Rochester; and her brother Harris Corson and wife Norma of New Durham.

Her loving husband John Q. Gault died in 1993.

She will be greatly missed, as she was a big part of the lives of her family and friends.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 8 at the John Shirley Cemetery in New Durham.

Joshua S. Amaral
Died: Friday, June 03, 2005
Age: 15

WOLFEBORO - Joshua S. Amaral, 15, formerly of Gloucester, Mass., died unexpectedly Friday, June 3.

Born in Beverly, Mass. September 6, 1989, he was the son of Amanda S. (Laurie) Harling of Danvers and Stephen W. Amaral of Gloucester, Mass. He had lived in Wolfeboro for the past year with his grandparents, and had just completed his freshman year at Kingswood Regional High School.

He was a talented guitarist and enjoyed jamming with his friends. Josh was also an avid marksman and enjoyed archery, riding dirt bikes and playing chess. He was devoted to his family and loved being the big brother

In addition to his parents, he leaves his siblings: Brittany Amaral, Danielle Harling, Annabelle Harling, Olivia Amaral, Andrew Amaral, Brandon Amaral; his stepmother, Amanda "Mandy" Amaral; his stepfather, Dan Harlng, his maternal grandparents, Rose "Mimi" and Philip Lusk of Gloucester, Mass.; his paternal grandparents, Rev. Stephen and Josephine Amaral of Wolfeboro, Mary and Philip Frasca; and great-grandparents, Lucille Row and Thomas and Dorothy Lusk. He also leaves four aunts and an uncle, Jacqui Marotta, Jackie Pallazola, Jennifer Laurie, Jessica Lusk, Philip Lusk, Jr., and many cousins, including his special cousin Jamie Dann, and dear friend, Tom Pool.

A memorial service was held Tuesday morning in the Orthodox Congregational Church, Gloucester at 11 a.m. Prayers of committal were held privately in the Seaside Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester.

Melony Ann (Kimball) Osgood
Died: Thursday, June 02, 2005
Age: 40

WOLFEBORO - Melony Ann (Kimball) Osgood, age 40, of Wolfeboro, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 2.

Born on December 21, 1964, in Laconia, she was the daughter of Joan Edith (Bikford) Kimball and Gordon Stanley Kimball. She was a life-long resident of Wolfeboro and a graduate of Kingswood Regional High School. She worked at Black Bear Micro Roastery in Tuftonboro, making coffee for the past five or six years. She loved being outdoors. Some of her favorite things to do were riding snowmobiles with her friends and family, ice fishing, camping, and being on a motorcycle. She was also an avid gardener and dedicated wife and mother.

She was predeceased by her father Gordon Stanley Kimball. She leaves behind her husband of 16 years, Michael James Osgood, her two children Sara Eliza, 15, and Asa Michael Osgood, 13. She also leaves her mother Joan Edith Kimball and four siblings: Corlis Chamberlain, Texas; Barry Kimball, Wolfeboro; Gregg Kimball, Virginia; and Amy Kimball, of Wolfeboro. She will also be greatly missed by a large family and many friends with whom she enjoyed spending some of her greatest moments.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lord's Funeral Home in Wolfeboro. A service will be held on Friday, June 10 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church on Center Street in Wolfeboro.

In her memory, donations can be given to the United Bikers of Maine (UBM), United Bikers of Maine, P.O. Box 2629, Augusta, Maine 04338-2629

Charles R. Brown, Sr.
Died: Friday, May 27, 2005
Age: 63

FARMINGTON - Charles R. "Chuck" Brown, Sr., age 63 of Farmington, died Friday evening May 27, at home.

Born June 1, 1941 and raised in Somerville, Mass., he was the son of the late John O. and Florida (Couture) Brown. He had lived in Farmington and New Durham for more than 40 years.

Brown had worked for himself most of his life having owned and operated Freedom State Builders and Top of The World Auction on Route 11, both in Farmington. He worked for five years at the former Davidson Rubber Plant as maintenance foreman.

He was a member of the New Hampshire Auctioneers Association, a member of the Elks BPOE 2522 in Hernando, Fla., and was a Mason with the Masonic lodge in Farmington.

He and his wife Frances enjoyed spending the winter in Hernando, Fla.

He leaves his beloved wife Frances E. (Doyle) Brown and their faithful companion Abby of Farmington; four sons: Charles R. "Chuck" Brown Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Conway; John O. Brown of Manchester; Danny Maxfield of Farmington; C. Barry Fox Jr. and his wife Becky of Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters: Denise Hennessey and her husband Gary of Hooksett; Cheryl Dufresne of Wildwood, Fla. He also leaves three sisters: Helen Mariano of Arlington, Mass.; Barbara Harring of Wakefield, Mass.; and Beverly Roach and her husband Jack of Billerica, Mass.; seven grandchildren: Charles Brown III, Stewart Jones, Brian Chapman, Dereck Winter, Brandon Winter, Alyssa Fox and Ethan Fox; several great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves two brothers-in-law, William Doyle and his wife Carol of Farmingdale, N.Y, and Robert Doyle and his wife Peggy of West Islip, N.Y.; and special friends Barbara and her husband Robert Kelly of Water Oaks, Fla.

Calling hours will be this evening, June 2, from 5 to 7 p.m., with a funeral service at the C.E. Peaslee & Son Funeral Home 24 Central Street Farmington. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the Cocheco Valley Humane Society 262 County Farm Road Dover, NH 03820.

Florence H. Metcalf
Died: Thursday, May 26, 2005
Age: 97

PALM CITY, Fla. - Florence H. Metcalf, 97, of Palm City, Fla., died May 26 at Parkway Health and Rehabilitation in Stuart, Fla. She was born June 30, 1907 in Newark, N.J. She had been a resident of Florida for 16 years, moving from Wolfeboro.

Florence had been a research statistician, but had spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a Red Cross Hospital Volunteer in Wolfeboro for more than 20 years, and also a volunteer at the Red Cross Bloodmobile when it came to Wolfeboro. She was a devout member of All Saints Episcopal Church, and served on the altar guild, first as an assistant directress, and then as directress. She organized and led a junior choir at All Saints Episcopal Church under Rector Don Wilson.

She leaves her daughter, Lucinda P. LaVoie of Palm City, Fla.; her son, John G. Metcalf Jr. of Nashua; her sister, Virginia M. Dennick of Clearwater, Fla.; two grandsons, and one great-granddaughter. Her beloved husband, John G. Metcalf Sr., who formerly was a town selectman, and her sister Beatrice Barbarin of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., predeceased her.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at All Saints Episcopal Church in Wolfeboro.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Hills Funeral Home, Palm City, Fla.

George E. Gage, Jr.
Died: Wednesday, May 25, 2005
Age: 82

KITTERY, Maine - George E. Gage Jr., of Meetinghouse Village in Kittery, Maine, died May 25, in Portsmouth, after a full and abundant life of 82 years, he bravely battled cancer and other health issues. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Gage was born Feb. 9, 1923 in Somerville Mass. He met his beautiful wife, Phyllis (Farrenkopf) on V-J day, while he was on leave from the Navy. After serving in the Navy in the Pacific Theatre, he started an upholstery and drapery business in Belmonte, Mass. The couple had four children, moved from Belmonte to Concord Mass., and eventually to Melvin Village, where Gage continued working in the marine upholstery field. They retired to Meetinghouse Village in 1997 and have been blessed by many friendships there and with being closer to family.

"Papa" as his family called him, was a man with many hobbies and interests, including woodworking, carving, wooden boat building, fishing, traveling in their motor home, making his grandchildren special presents, and being with family and friends. He even learned to use the computer and Internet despite being visually impaired. Although Papa had many challenges throughout his life, he always kept his wonderful sense of humor and wit, always tackled each challenge and found a new way to enjoy life despite his disabilities. He taught those around him to appreciate life, to know there is always a bright side no matter the challenges, and that people and relationships, next to God are the most important.

He leaves his loving wife of almost 58 years, Phyllis; two sisters, Marion Wright and her husband George, of Dover Point; and Rose Robideau of Malboro, Mass.; four children and their families: George Gage and his son Matthew of Brant Rock, Mass.; Kevin Gage of Kittery, Maine; Donna (Gage) and Bob Pancini and daughters Emily and Nicole of Holliston, Mass.; and Karen (Gage) and Dean Bensley, and sons, Ethan and Gage, of Kittery Point, Maine.

A memorial service was held Sunday, May 29, in Meetinghouse Village, Kittery, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Iris Network (services for the visually impaired in Maine) C/O Terri, 189 Park Ave Portland, Maine 04102 or to the Home Health Visiting Nurses of Southern Maine 15 Industrial Park Road, Saco, Maine 04072. Arrangements are entrusted to the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home of Kittery.

Alice-Ann Bailey Pinkham
Died: Wednesday, May 25, 2005

BROOKFIELD - Alice-Ann Bailey Pinkham, died at her home in Brookfield on May 25, after a long illness.

Born in Providence, R.I., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Virginia Bailey, and the sister of the late Marilyn Kantrowitz. She leaves her beloved husband of 30 years, Christopher; her children, David, Gregory, Sarah Jane, Matthew, Christopher, Scott, Melinda and Lawrence; twelve grandchildren; a nephew, great-nephew and a great-niece.

Pinkham was a graduate of the Northfield School, attended the University of Rhode Island and received her degree in counseling from Springfield College in 1989.

She and her husband had been summer residents of Brookfield for many years and made Brookfield their permanent home in 1990. She served three terms on the Brookfield Planning Board, as secretary, ballot clerk, member of the Building Committee for the new town office building and was a contributing author of the town history. She co-founded the Brookfield Craft Fair, Newsletter and the Saturday Morning Coffees. She and her husband helped establish the Brookfield Scholastic Recognition Award in 1996. Pinkham served on the Board of Directors and was a juried member of the Wolfeboro League of NH Craftsmen. She also served on the Board of Directors of VNA/Hospice of Southern Carroll County, where she volunteered as a hospice caregiver and co-facilitated grief bereavement groups. She also volunteered at the Adult Care Program at Huggins Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday June 11, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church of Wakefield, family and friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be given to VNA/Hospice of Southern Carroll County PO Box 1620 Wolfeboro, NH 03894 or to the Brookfield Scholastic Recognition Award Fund, Brookfield, NH 03872. Arrangements are in the care of Peaslee Funeral Home, 2079 Wakefield Road in Sanbornville (Wakefield), NH.
