ALTON - Ethel Howe Dodge, age 75 of Old Wolfeboro Road, died Monday, Jan. 10, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.
Born on May 7, 1929, in Ware, Mass., she was the daughter of Gladys E. (Kershaw) and Francis H. Howe. A resident of Alton since 1946, she was a graduate of Alton High School and Fisher Junior College in Boston.
She worked for many years as a medical secretary in the Lakes Region. She was head of the Medical Records Department at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro.
She enjoyed the beach, playing cards and cooking. Above all, she enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She leaves her husband of 52 years, Tallant Dodge of Alton; a daughter, Louise and husband Bill Watkin of Three Springs, Pa.; a son, David D. and wife Bonnie Dodge of New Durham; a son, Mark T. and wife Elaine Dodge of Laconia; a daughter, Debra D. and husband Don Nugent of Laconia; a brother: David T. and wife Susan Howe of Gilford; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at New Riverside Cemetery in Alton, with the date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to VNA/Hospice of Southern Carroll County & Vicinity, Inc. P.O. Box 1620 Wolfeboro, NH 03894. Herbert G. Baldwin

WOLFEBORO - Herbert G. Baldwin, 88, of Governor Wentworth Highway, Wolfeboro, formerly of Lynn, Mass., died Sunday, Jan. 9, at the Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Ruth M. (Richards) Baldwin, with whom he spent 60 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, Mass., he was the son of the late Azariah and Fannie Jane (Williams) Baldwin. He attended Lynn schools and graduated from Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1935. He also attended Ben Franklin Institute and M.I.T., where he became a master electrician. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WW II.
Baldwin was employed at the General Electric, Riverworks Plant as a supervisor for 43 years until he retired in 1978.
He was a former president of the P.T.A. at Shoemaker School, a member of the Lancers Square Dance Club, the North Shore Old Car Club, Golden Fleece Lodge A.F. & A.M. Kearsarge Lodge I.O.O.F., Fidelity Lodge I.O.O.F. in Wolfeboro, the New England Unit of the W.B.C.C.I., and the Lakes Region Radio Association. He was also an avid fisherman.
In addition to his wife, he leaves three daughters, and two sons-in-law: Donna Baldwin of Saugus, Mass.; Joan C. and John W. Castro of Lynn, Mass., Karen J. and John V. Bignelli of Hartland, Conn.; one brother, Raymond Baldwin of Swampscott, Mass.; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also grandfather of the late Michael Hutchins, and brother of the late Harold Baldwin.
Funeral Services will be held at the Parker Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St., Lynn, Mass., today, Jan. 13, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Linda Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Gerald E. Verrette

ALTON - Gerald E. Verrette, 58, of Hamwoods Road in Alton, died Sunday morning, Jan. 9, at home, after a brief illness.
Born July 23, 1946 in Salem, Mass., he was the son of Gerard J. and Lucille (Migneault) Verrette. He lived in Salem, Mass. most all of his life, and spent the last three years living in Alton.
A United States Naval Veteran, Verrette retired from the Salem, Mass. Police Department, where he served as a police officer for 17 years.
He was a member of the Blue Knights, was a Ham Radio Operator and he enjoyed fishing.
Verrette leaves his wife, Lorna M. (Perkins) Desmarais Verrette of Alton; his mother, Lucille Verrette of Peabody, Mass.; a son, Ronald P. Verrette of Salem, Mass.; a stepson, Shaun L. Perkins of Ft. Polk, La.; two stepdaughters: Randi L. Desmarais of Concord, and Tiffany M. Desmarais of Goffstown; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. William (Patty) Russo of Danvers, Mass.; one niece and three nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Verrette.
A funeral service will be held today, Jan. 13, 1 p.m., at the Peaslee Funeral Home, 12 School Street, Alton, with Fr. George Ham, pastor of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, officiating. There will be a calling hour from noon to 1 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in the spring at the New Riverside Cemetery on Route 28S in Alton. Tina Marie Moulton

Huggins Hospital licensed nurse's aide
OSSIPEE - Tina Marie Moulton, 47, of Route 16, passed away suddenly at her home in Ossipee on Thursday, Jan. 6. She was born September 12, 1957 in Massachusetts, the daughter of Henry L. and Theresa (Gaudette) Moulton. She graduated from the Haverhill High School in Haverhill, Mass., and had worked as a licensed nurse's aide at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro for the past few years.
Moulton leaves her son Roy Gorton, Milton, Mass.; a daughter, Billi-Jo-Trahan, Conn.; a granddaughter, Gabriella Gorton; four brothers: Bill Gonyer, Ore.; Leon Moulton, Derby, Vt.; Dwayne Moulton, Acton, Maine; and Richard Moulton, Acton, Maine; four sisters: Rita Hunt, Haverhill, Mass.; Sheila Palermo, Epping; Diane Batchelder, Suffolk, Va.; and Dawn Noble, Kennebunk, Maine. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at Lord Funeral Home.
Ernest Joseph Daigneau

MOULTONBOROUGH - Ernest Joseph Daigneau, 91, of Daigneau Drive, died Jan. 6, at Lakes Region General Hospital, in Laconia.
Born in Franklin on April 24, 1913, he was the son of Thomas and Marion Valady Daigneau.
He resided most all his life in the Moultonborough and Sandwich area.
He worked as a self employed building contractor all his life. He also was the caretaker for many years for High Heath Camps, in Moultonborough.
He was the husband of the late Louise Anne Roucher Daigneau, who died in 1981.
Survivors include seven daughters Shirley Talbott, of Moultonborough, Dorothy Cavanaugh, of Sebring, Fla., Paula Laull, of Sebring, Fla., Frances Daigneau, of Moultonborough, Jo-ann Martel, of Moultonborough, Carol Woodward, of Nashua, Darlene Lang, of Bellingham, Mass.; 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren Alyssa Vallee and Bryson Eldridge; one brother Austin Daigneau, of Franklin; many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A Spring graveside service will be held in the Middle Neck Cemetery, Moultonborough.

Joseph G. Skehan Sr.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. - Joseph G. Skehan, Sr, 86, Wayne Avenue, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005 at Ocean View Nursing Home, New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He was born in Concord, Mass. Feb. 12, 1918.
Skehan, retired from Tewksbury State Hospital as a first class Stationary Engineer in the 1980s. He was a long time resident of Lowell, Mass., and he and his wife Agnes retired to Effingham in 1982. He was a member of Ossipee Lions Club and sang in the choir at St. Joseph's Church. He was very active with the Ossipee Concerned Citizens in the RSVP program and the Meals on Wheels. His first wife, of 49 years, Agnes R. (Daly) Skehan, predeceased him in February 1991.
He is survived by his wife Priscilla, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; three sons Joseph Jr., and James Skehan, of Ossipee, John Skehan, of Atkinson; and his daughter Kathleen Wholey, of Dracut, Mass.; 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Ossipee, on Friday, Jan. 14 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Spring at the discretion of his family. Family and friends are all invited to celebrate his life at this service.

Rena C. Landman

CONCORD - Rena C. Landman, 97, died Monday, Jan. 3 at Havenwood Nursing Home in Concord.
She was born in Wells River, Vt., the daughter of Charles S. and Margaret (Bullard) Cameron.
She was a graduate of Plymouth Normal School, and taught 4th grade in Wolfeboro.
She was a 55-year member of the Wolfeboro Congregational Church, where she was past president of the Women's Fellowship. She was past chairman of the Wolfeboro Heart Fund drive and a director of the Wolfeboro Blood donor drive for 25 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Landman; one brother, Norman Cameron; two sisters, Verna Webber and Dorothy Stanton; and a nephew, Richard Cameron.
She leaves four nephews: Donald Cameron, Maurice Cameron and Warren Cameron of Fla., and George Moriarty of East Longmeadow, Mass.; as well as a niece, Barbara Moriarty, also of East Longmeadow.
A Memorial Service will be held today at 2 p.m. (Jan.6) at Havenwood Nursing Home. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Wolfeboro in the spring.

Ethel Rosenbower
Died: Monday, August 15, 2005
Age: 89
OSSIPEE - Ethel (Pooley) Rosenbower, 89, formerly of South Burlington, Vt. died Aug. 15, at Mountain View Nursing Home in Ossipee.
Rosenbower was born in New York, N.Y. March 14, 1916, daughter of the late Raoul and Martha Schwiebert Pooley, and resided in Rutherford, N.J. for over 50 years.
Rosenbower was a legal secretary in Jersey City and Newark, N.J. She was a member and was very active with the First Presbyterian Church in Rutherford, N.J. for many years. She served as the Clerk of the Congregation for the church for 40 years and secretary of the Evening Guild for the church for 25 years. Upon moving to Essex Junction, Vt. in 1995, she joined the First Congregational Church.
Rosenbower enjoyed traveling, visiting friends and family and socializing at her home in the Gazebo Apartments in South Burlington until 2002 when she moved to Starr Farm and to the Mountain View Nursing Home in 2003.
Predeceased by her husband of 61 years Thomas R. Rosenbower in 1995, three brothers William O'Connell, George Brown and Harold O'Connell, she leaves her daughter Barbara Fortune of Colchester, Vt., two grandchildren Leigh Stockton of Moretown, Vt., Lesley and her husband Brian Chevalier of Lakewood, Colo., four great-grandchildren: Thomas and Erica Lyons, Elise and Anna Chevalier. She also leaves nieces and nephews in New Jersey, Ohio, Connecticut and Louisiana.
Burial will be in Burlington, Vt.
