Jennie Z. Matcheski
SANBORNTON - Mrs. Jennie Z. Matcheski, 86, of New Hampton Road, Sanbornton, died at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia on Oct. 1, 2004.
She was born in New Britain, Conn. on July 19, 1918, the daughter of Theador and Mary (Panasewich) Zavaronok. Mrs. Matcheski was raised in New Britain and later lived in Meriden, Conn. for several years before moving to Sanbornton in 1985.
While in Meriden, Mrs. Matcheski was a parishioner of Sts. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church. Her husband, John M. Matcheski Jr., died Oct. 19, 2003.
Family members include three children; Donna Thompson, John M. Matcheski III and Christine Thompson, all of Sanbornton, seven grandchildren; Mark Ruggles, John Ruggles, Wendy Ruggles Eldridge, Kyle Thompson, Kamie Thompson, Michael Matcheski and Nichole Matcheski, three great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Olga Butcka of Franklin, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery Chapel.

Emma Ethel Lucas
LACONIA - Emma E. (Corriveau) Lucas, 91, formerly of Old Lake Shore Road in Gilford died, Friday, Dec. 3, 2004 at the Belknap County Nursing Home in Laconia following a period of failing health. She was born in Laconia, Feb. 9, 1913, daughter of Arthur and Nora (Trephanier) Corriveau. She had lived in Gilford for most of her life. For many years she and her husband owned and operated the Lucas Market in Laconia and later owned and operated Meadowside Cabin Colony in Winnisquam. Emma later worked for the Lynch Clothing Corp in Laconia as a sales clerk. Emma enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Laconia. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Lucas and grandson, James E. Lucas Jr. Her family includes her son, James E. Lucas Sr. and his wife Marian (Dow) of Belmont; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great,great-grandchildren; Brothers: Elmer Corriveau Woonsockett, R.I., Eli Corriveau of New Smyrna, Fla., Edgar Corriveau of Ft. Myers, Fla.;
Nieces and Nephews.
According to Emma's wishes, a graveside service will be held in the spring at Union Cemetery in Laconia with burial following. The William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton is assisting the family with arrangements. Expressions of Sympathy may be made to the James E. Bernadette Dow
LACONIA - Bernadette "Bunny" Dow, 91, of 67 Lyford St. died Dec. 2, 2004 in the St. Francis Home. She was born in St. Joseph, Quebec on Nov. 23, 1913, the daughter of Joseph and Clementine (Maheux) Nadeau and resided in Laconia since 1916.
She was a graduate of Laconia High School, class of 1934. Prior to her retirement after 44 years of work in the bookkeeper/secretarial field, she had been employed by Northern Heating & Plumbing Co for ten years and also at Win-Door.
Bernadette was a communicant of Sacred Heart parish and was a member of the Ladies of Sacred Heart since 1965. An avid reader, she also enjoyed knitting. Her husband, Irving N. Dow, died March 12, 1999.
Family members include a daughter, Sandra A. Fortin and her husband, Francis E. Fortin of North East, Md.; a grandson, Christopher Neal Fortin, currently attending Eastern Kentucky University; and was surrounded by loving nieces, nephews and friends. She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Alfreda Ouellette Morin and Ora Vezina and a brother, Paul Nadeau.
Calling hours will be in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave. Monday at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber are the funeral directors.
Marjorie Louise Jarvis
FRANKLIN - Marjorie L. Jarvis, 76, formerly of 68 Lancaster Street, died Saturday Dec. 4, 2004 at the Harris Hill Center in Concord from complications of lung cancer.
She was born in Medway, Mass. on Dec. 20, 1927, the daughter of Russell Cline, who died in 1932, and Marjorie (Daniels) Cline, who died in 1999. Marjorie moved from Masssachusetts to Laconia in 1968, where she resided until moving to Franklin in 1991.
For many years, she worked as a waitress in restaurants in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, including the Half Moon Restaurant at Weirs Beach. Not a high school graduate in her youth, Marjorie decided against a GED and attended classes at school through the Adult Education Program in Laconia, graduating with her diploma in 1986. In 1992, she became a volunteer at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton and continued for several years, considering it a home away from home. She enjoyed watching sports and bowling.
She was predeceased by a son, John Converse, of Worcester, Mass. in 1998 and a sister, Jean Adams, of Ayer, Mass., in 1968.
Her family includes two daughters, Doreen Scovil of Loudon and Brenda Beek of Old Orchard, Maine; two sons, Richard Converse of Manchester and Edward Jarvis of Cape Cod, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a niece, Nikki Adams of Foxboro, Mass.; and a nephew, Russell Adams of Ohio.
Charles A. Glidden
WOLFEBORO - Charles A. Glidden, 78, of Pleasant Valley Road, died Dec. 4, 2004 at Huggins Hospital.
Born Sept. 1, 1926, he was the son of Arthur M. and Gertrude (Chick) Glidden. He was a native and lifelong resident of Wolfeboro. He was a self-employed plumber and electrician for most of his life.
Mr. Glidden was a member of the Fidelity Lodge, I.O.O.F., in Wolfeboro and her served as past Noble Grand. He was a member of Center Tuftonboro United Methodist Church.
He loved music,including country, bluegrass and gospel. He also played the guitar and standup bass.
The family includes his wife, Marjorie (Letteney) Glidden of Wolfeboro, his children, Christiana Boisvert of Deltona, Fla., Lee Glidden of Charleston, S.C., Stephen Glidden of Manchester, Lois Glidden of Chocorua and Jennifer Rogers of Athens, Ala.; 10 grandchildren, 1o great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Glidden of Wolfeboro; and a sister, Doris Massey of Wolfeboro.
Nancy J. Dolan
WEST ALTON - Mrs. Nancy J. Dolan 58, of 85 Railroad Ave. West Alton, died at her home Sunday March 20, 2005 after a 12 year courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born Nov. 5, 1946 in Arlington, Mass., the daughter of John Francis and Ann Loretta (McDermott) Sefton. She had been a resident of West Alton for the past 18 years coming from Arlington.
She was the Administrative Assistant at the New Hampshire Community Technical College in Laconia until January, 2005. She had been employed at the college for the past 12 years.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish in Belmont. She was a member of the Lakes Region Management Club in Laconia. Survivors include her husband David J. Dolan, Sr. of West Alton; a son, David J. Dolan, Jr. of Sanbornton; two grandchildren, Dana and Sierra; two brothers, John Sefton of Carlisle, Mass. and Paul Sefton of N.J.; a niece and four nephews and all of her dear friends at the NHCTC, Laconia.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday March 22, 2005 from 4-7 p.m. at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia using the Carriage House entrance.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont on Wednesday March 23, 2005. Burial will follow in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia.

Scott Randall Smith
CONWAY - Scott Randall Smith, 59, of Conway, died March 15, 2005 at the Memorial Hospital. The son of Odber and Mary (Gina) (Randall) Smith, he was born in Portsmouth and was a lifelong resident of the Mt. Washington Valley. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War as a Combat Engineer, receiving a Bronze Star as well as Vietnam Service Medal. He had been an avid carpenter for many years in the Mt. Washington Valley. He was a member of the Ralph W. Shirley Post #46 in Conway and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
His family includes four children: Scott McCarthy of Fayetteville, N.C., Chad McCarthy of East Conway, Sara McCarthy of Redstone and David Davis of Meredith; four brothers: Jeffrey O. Smith of Conway, Kevin D. Smith of Quakertown, Penn., Steven J. Smith of Laconia and Kirby D. Smith of Laconia; plus one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Conway Village Congregational Church with the Rev. Alfred Gagnon III, Pastor, officiating. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway. Memorial donations may be made to Ralph Shirley American Legion Post #46, 47 Tasker Hill Road in Conway to purchase cemetery lots for veterans.
Dorothy M. Wozny
LACONIA - Dorothy M. Wozny, 85, formerly of 26 Carver St. died April 24, 2005 in Laconia Center Genesis Eldercare Network after a lengthy illness. She was born in Laconia on Feb. 3, 1920, the daughter of James and Mary Louise (Cherrier) Abair.
She had lived most of her life in Laconia and was the widow of James A. Wozny, who died August 31, 1973.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart parish and was a former member of the Laconia Senior Center and the Laconia Elders Friendship Club.
Family members include two sisters, Eleanor T. Laramee of Holyoke Mass. and Pauline Lind of Worcester Mass.; several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St. Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave. at 11 a.m. Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Roger P. Beaule
LACONIA - Roger P. Beaule, 60 of 63 Lafayette Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Saturday April 23, 2005.
Mr. Beaule was born October 3, 1944 in Laconia the son of Lionel G. and Yvonne (Bissonnette) Beaule. He was a life long resident of Laconia.
Mr. Beaule was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed going up to northern New Hampshire.
Mr. Beaule was employed at Laconia Magnetics, Inc.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years Cynthia (Perreault) Beaule of Laconia; a son and his wife Michael and Stephanie Beaule of Danbury; a grandchild Alexa Jane Beaule of Danbury; a sister Cecile Campbell of Laconia; 2 brothers Roland Beaule of AK and Robert Beaule of FL.; several nephews and nieces.
There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, Laconia Wednesday April 27, 2005 at 11:30 AM. The Rev. Gary Kosmowski, pastor of the church will be the celebrant.

Eleanor Vomacka
LACONIA - Eleanor Boerner Vomacka, 73, died April 22, 2005 at her home in Laconia, after an 11-year battle with cancer.
Born in Plainfield, N.J. on Sept. 25, 1931, to William and Gladys (Croes) Boerner of Plainfield, N.J., she graduated from North Plainfield High School and later attended The Berkley School in East Orange, N.J.
After a long career with the Social Security Administration where she was a Claims Representative, she retired from the Manchester office and performed much volunteer work. She was an active member of St. James Church, Laconia, where she was a member of the Guild and served as Secretary for the Vestry. She also volunteered for various literacy programs, assisting students working toward their GEDs. She spent her youth at Lake Shore Park in Gilford, and her adulthood in West Alton with her family, enjoying Lake Winnipesaukee. She was a member of many nature and wildlife organizations, loved bird watching, and participated in local annual wildlife counts.
She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-four years, John A. Vomacka, of Laconia; a son, John F. Vomacka and his fiancée, Phyllis Chase, of Vancouver, Wash.; a son, Kenneth R. Vomacka and his wife, Annie-Laurie, of Belmont; a daughter, Susan Fernandez, and her husband, Gerry, of Gilford; grandsons, Tim, Bradly, Evan and Alan Vomacka; granddaughters, Julie Anne, Carrie Jane and Madilyn Rose Fernandez; two brothers, William Boerner of Anacortes, Wash. and Richard Boerner of Huntington Beach, Va.; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2005 from 2-5 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 25, 2005 at 11 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 876 North Main Street, Laconia. Rev. William S. Gannon, Rector of the Church, will officiate. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia.
