Andrew G. Downes
ASHLAND - Andrew G. Downes, 67, died Jan. 29, 2003 at Cape Coral Hospital, Cape Coral, Fla., after a brief illness.
He was born in Concord, N.H., March 31, 1935, the son of Harlen Downes and Dorothy Graham Downes. He formerly resided in Ashland, N.H., and before that in Loudon, N.H.
He was a graduate of Concord High School and the NH Tech in Manchester, N.H.
Mr. Downes was fire chief for the Town of Loudon from 1977-1986. He had belonged to the Fire Department since his high school days. Mr. Downes also served as a Deputy Forest Fire Warden for the town from 1963-1977 and as the Town Forest Fire Warden from 1977-1986.
He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle.
Mr. Downes was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He worked for Freudenberg NOK for many years as a supervisor in the Tool and Die Department.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Brenda Boynton of Ashland, N.H., and North Fort Myers.
Graveside services will be held in Franklin Cemetery in the spring.

David T. Fournier
FRANKLIN - David Thomas Fournier, 47, of 568 Prospect St. in Franklin died suddenly at his home Friday, Jan. 31, 2002.
He was born in Manchester, N.H., Oct. 23, 1955, son of Philip R. and Irene D. (Stylianos) Fournier. He spent his youth in Andover, Mass. He attended Andover High School and St. John’s Prep. He later attended technical school. He moved to Franklin in 1986 when his parents purchased the Atwood Inn. He was a self-employed electrical engineer and worked with various Massachusetts and New Hampshire companies.
Of Mr. Fournier, his family wrote: "David was a giving person."
He was predeceased by a brother, Philip L. Fournier, who died in 1992.
His family includes his parents, Philip R. and Irene D. (Stylianos) Fournier of Gilford; his sister, Denise I. Monroe of North Andover, Mass.; a niece, nephew and great-nephew.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home, Franklin-Tilton Road in Tilton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Franklin. Burial with committal prayers will be Wednesday at 11 at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Babylon, Long Island, N.Y.

Mildred C. Gennaro
LACONIA - Mrs. Mildred C. Gennaro, 87, formerly of 25 Union Ave., and 1176 Old North Main St., died at the Genesis Eldercare Network, Laconia Center on Thursday, April 3, 2003. She was the widow of John Gennaro who died in 1983.
Mrs. Gennaro was born Dec. 9, 1915, in Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of Pasquale and Marie Casabona. She was a homemaker and seamstress and lived in New Jersey for many years before moving to Laconia in 1981.
Mrs. Gennaro was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Laconia, and attended the Laconia Senior Center.
Survivors include two sons, Carl Gennaro of Laconia and James (Jim) Gennaro of Westminster, Mass.; six grandchildren, John Gennaro of York, Maine, Christine Mello of Laconia, Michael Gennaro of East Derry and Matthew Gennaro of Newmarket, Jennifer Gennaro and Jason Gennaro, both of Washington, D.C.; two great-grandchildren, Devon Kate Mello of Laconia and Hannah Mae Gennaro of York, Maine; a brother, James Casabona of Franklin Square, N.Y.; and many nephews and nieces.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 6, from 3-6 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church St., Laconia. The Rev. Gary Kosmowski, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Burial will be held later in the spring in the family lot at Union Cemetery, Laconia.

Roger E. Thibodeau
GILFORD - Roger "Tibby" E. Thibodeau, 65, of 9 Sargent Place, died at his home on Friday, April 4, 2003.
Mr. Thibodeau was born Jan. 29, 1938, in Ashland, the son of John and Simone (Cognac) Thibodeau and lived in the Lakes Region most of his life. He was a graduate of Laconia High School.
Mr. Thibodeau served in the Army National Guard. He was employed by the McCormick Advisory Group for a number of years.
Mr. Thibodeau enjoyed fly fishing, tying flies and trips to Foxwoods.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynne Davis of Belmont and Lori Dupont of Laconia; a stepdaughter, Kim Dow of Texas; three grandchildren, Ashley Dupont and Whitney Dupont, both of Laconia, and Mackenzie Davis of Belmont; three step-grandchildren, Jamie Dow, Daley Dow and Jacob Dow, all of Texas; a brother, Norman Thibodeau of Laconia; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Maurice Thibodeau.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 7, at 6 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkiinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia.

Elizabeth A. Morrissette
LACONIA - Mrs. Elizabeth A. Morrissette, 88 formerly of 49 Warren St., died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at the Mountain Ridge Center Genesis Eldercare Network in Franklin. She was the widow of Wilfred R. Morrissette who died in 1945.
Mrs. Morrissette was born Oct. 17, 1914, in Laconia, the daughter of Nelson and Emma (Collette) Mitchell. She was a lifelong resident of Laconia.
Mrs. Morrissette was employed at Cormier Hosiery Mill for 45 years, retiring in 1980. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law Savillia Morrissette of Laconia; two grandsons Kevin N. and his wife, Lisa Morrissette and Peter E. and his wife, Anne Morrissette, all of Laconia; and five great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents and her son, Nelson W. Morrissette, who died in 1996.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003 from 6-8 p.m. at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia using the Carriage House entrance.

Edna L. Granger
TILTON - Edna L. Granger, 79, of 45 White Rock Circle, Lochmere, died at her daughter's home in Tilton Thursday, July 31, 2003. She was the widow of Bert L. Granger who died in 1986.
Mrs. Granger was born Jan. 11, 1924 in Petersburg, N.Y., the daughter of Leon and Flora (Church) Moon.
Mrs. Granger was the office manager of the Gunstock Ski Area, Gilford, for 23 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Laconia and a member of the Mayflower Society in Vermont.
Mrs. Granger loved to read and enjoyed wildlife and her flowers, as well as bird watching. She loved her cat, Dolly.
Survivors include a daughter, Candace Cassavaugh of Tilton; a son-in-law Wayne Cassavaugh Sr. of Sanbornton; four grandchildren, Lisa Bertrand of New Hampton, Wayne Cassavaugh Jr. Toni-Jo Cassavaugh and Alison Cassavaugh, all of Tilton; several nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by a brother, Keith Moon.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, from 2-4 p.m. using the Whipple Ave. entrance of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home 164 Pleasant St., Laconia.
Services will be held Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Belmont. The Rev. Charles Crook, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Laconia.

Robert F. Fecteau
GILFORD - Robert F. Fecteau, 54, of 15 Burr Lane died Aug. 1, 2003, at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Laconia on Jan. 7, 1949, the son of Francis D. and Doris M. (Gay) Fecteau.
He was a graduate of Laconia High School, class of 1967, and attended the New Hampshire Vocational Institute in Concord. He had lived in the Manchester area for 20 years and moved back to the Lakes Region about 10 years ago.
Mr. Fecteau was a sales supervisor for Capitol Distributors Inc. of Concord since 1989. He was the first employee nominated for the Ironman Award for outstanding service.
During his youth, he was active with Troop 68 of the Boy Scouts of America and attained the rank of Star Scout. Skiing, camping, hiking and fishing were among his many interests. He served on the Ski Patrol at the Gunstock Ski Area for several years and was an honored member of the Appalachian Mountain Club.
Mr. Fecteau was an avid golfer and enjoyed following the Boston area professional sports teams as well as the NASCAR Winston Cup circuit.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia and was a member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks #876 for more than 25 years. He had served that organization in the office of Esquire.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Sue-Ann (Stansfield) Fecteau of Gilford; a daughter, Tracy Fecteau Mangione of Port Richey Fla.; a sister, Nancy M. Fecteau of Laconia; four brothers, Kenneth Fecteau of Pittsfield Mass., James Fecteau of Hooksett, Jerry Fecteau of Northfield and William Fecteau of Laconia; two aunts, Jackie Brasley and Shirley Cass, both of Laconia; a niece and several nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia. The Laconia Lodge of Elks will hold a Session of Sorrow at 6:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. The Rev. Gary Kosmowski will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
