Linda A. Boivin
LACONIA - Linda A. Boivin, 55, of 90 Blueberry Lane, died Dec. 5, 2002 in Lakes Region General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Laconia on Nov. 8, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Freeman and Mamie (Fortin) Sirles.
She was raised in the Meredith Center and Laconia area and was a graduate of Inter-Lakes High School in Meredith.
Mrs. Boivin was employed for 29 years at the former Laconia State School and was a case worker for 10 years with NH Health & Human Services until she became ill in 2001.
Family members include her husband, Tom Boivin of Laconia; a daughter, Melody "Lee" Lavine of North Windham, Conn.; a grandson, Seth D. Lavine of North Windham, Conn.; two brothers, Chester F. Sirles and his wife Trudy of Belmont and Robert Sirles and his wife Patty of Meredith Center; two sisters, Mrs. Clyde (Geraldine) Blake of Waco, Tex. and Mrs. George (Warneta) Russell of Meredith; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial reception will be held Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Cafe Deja Vu Restaurant, 311 Court St., Laconia. Private services will be held in the spring in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Laconia Fire Department Ambulance Service, 848 North Main St., Laconia, NH 03246. David L. Furber of the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia is assisting the family with arrangements.
Roland A. Breton
GILFORD - Roland A. Breton, 79, of 27 Liberty Hill, died at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002.
Mr. Breton was born May 20, 1923 in Lakeport, the son of Aime and Anna (Morin) Breton. He was a lifelong resident of Gilford.
Mr. Breton served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and was employed at Laconia Malleable Iron Co. for 40 years. He was also a Special Police Officer for the Town of Gilford for 13 years in the 1960s.
Mr. Breton was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Laconia.
He was a member of the Belknap County Sportsmen’s Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Laconia Post 1670, the American Legion Wilkins Smith Post No. 1, the Laconia Lodge of Elks 876, and was a Hospice volunteer for many years.
He enjoyed roller-skating, gardening and tinkering in his garage.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Rita (Cote) Breton of Gilford; six sons and four daughters, Roger Breton of Laconia, Rachel Nadeau of Belmont, Diane Moreau of Concord, Philip Breton of Laconia, Normand Breton of Gilmanton, Denise Tougas of Milton, Vt., Ronald Breton of Richmond, Vt., Paul Breton of Belmont, Raymond Breton of Gilmanton, and Jeanne Breton of Gilford; 13 grandchildren, Michelle Fridlington, Mary Lou Baldwin, Wendy L’Heureux, Ted Baldwin, Jim Moreau, Andrea Moreau, Michael Moreau, Nicholas Nadeau, Ross Breton, Taryn Breton, Cody Tougas, Evan Tougas and Jake Tougas; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Annette Breton of Gilford; three brothers, Leo Breton of Louisburg, S.C., Robert Breton of Cape Coral, Fla., and Gerard Breton of Sanbornton and Cape Coral, Fla.; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother, Andrew "Pat" Breton.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave., Laconia.
Spring burial will be in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Health & Hospice Inc., 780 North Main St., Laconia, NH 03246.
William W. Moses
NORTHFIELD - Mr. William "Bill" W. Moses, 53, of Oak Hill Road, Northfield, died at his home on Dec. 5, 2002.
He was born in North Conway on Jan. 6, 1949, the son of Royal Moses and Hilda Judd. He resided in Hill for several years and was a Northfield resident for the last 20 years.
Mr. Moses served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. For several years, he had been a welder for E.D. Swett in Concord.
He was a race fan and was a driver on dirt tracks in the area. He drove #15 and was known as the "White Tornado." He won championships in Canaan and Rumney in 1995. He was currently assisting his daughter with her racing as her crew chief. He greatly enjoyed growing both vegetables and flowers in his garden. He also recently restored a 1960 Ford Falcon.
Family members include his wife of 30 years, Holly (Puffinburger) Moses of Northfield; a daughter: Sarah Comeau of Hebron; his father and stepmother, Royal and Alberta Moses of Bristol; his mother, Hilda Harris of Alexandria; three grandchildren, David, Nicholas, and Stacy Comeau; a half-brother, Tony Perkins of Vermont; sisters, Marilyn Hosmer and Sandy Adams, both of Vermont, Diane Eaton of Groton, Anita Moses of Hill, and Kathy Sargent of Alexandria; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by two brothers, James and David Moses.
Funeral services and burial will be private.

Catherine A. Routhier
BOSTON, Mass. - Catherine A. Routhier, 90, of Boston, formerly of Reading, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002 at Boston Medical Center. She was the widow of George T. Routhier.
Born in Boston, the daughter of William and Dora Brennan, Mrs. Routhier grew up in Chelsea. She attended Chelsea High School and the Massachusetts College of Art.
She was the founder and former owner of Routhier Legal Personnel Inc. in Boston.
Family members include three sons, Thomas G. Routhier and William A. Routhier, both of Boston, and Lawrence M. Routhier and his wife Mary of Gilford, N.H.; grandchildren, Emily and Thomas Routhier of Gilford, N.H.; a sister, Dorothy Bobigan of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Joy W. Sweeney of Boston.
There are no visiting hours. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Dec. 9, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen Church in Boston followed by interment in the family lot of Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline. In lieu of flowers, donations in Catherine’s memory may be made to the Marion Manor Nursing Home, 130 Dorchester St., South Boston, MA 02127 Arrangements are under the direction of the Harborside Funeral Home of Joseph A. Langone Jr. , Boston.
Charlotte C. Hamilton
VALRICO, Fla. - Charlotte C. Hamilton, 80, of Valrico, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003. She had lived in the Tampa Bay area since 1990 coming from her native Laconia, N.H.
She was a graduate of Laconia Hospital School of Nursing, Laconia, N.H.
She operated the Winnisquam House & Motor Inn until the death of her husband, Phil Contigiani, in 1964. She founded Contigiani’s Catering Service in 1965.
She was a past president of New Hampshire Hospitality Association and the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce.
She was an incorporator of Lakes Region General Hospital and a member of its Auxiliary. She was also on the Board of Directors of Peoples National Bank and Trust.
A past president of the Laconia Altrusa Club, she was a founder of the Astra Club. She was a member of Mary Butler Chapter DAR, Lakes Region Graduate Nurses Association, American Legion Auxiliary, Board of Easter Seals and Lakeport Women’s Club.
She was a member of Nativity Catholic Church and Senior Friends of Brandon Regional Hospital. She was a volunteer for the Brandon Regional Hospital for five years, St. Jose Mission for the Migrant Workers and Brandon Alzheimer’s Association.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, John Contigiani.
She is survived by her husband, Harry N. Hamilton of Valrico; one son, Tony Contigiani and his wife Mary of Atlanta, Ga.; one stepson, Harry Andrew Hamilton of Rising Sun, Ind.; her daughter, Nancy A. Allen and husband Ed of Laconia, N.H.; a stepdaughter, Lucinda Hamilton of San Diego, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Edward Allen Jr., Phillip, Johnathan, James, Kimberly, Shaina, Kristen and Mark Anthony Contigiani; and four great-grandchildren.
Irwin Richelson
PLYMOUTH - Irwin Richelson, 81, of Randolph Street, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003 at his home.
He was born in New York City on Feb. 2, 1921, a son of Freda (Alterman) and Louis Richelson. The following year the family moved to Ashland and started Richelson’s Dept. Store.
Known as "Pookie" to his many friends, Mr. Richelson graduated in a class of 23 from Ashland High School in 1938 and shortly thereafter the family moved to Plymouth. He also attended Laconia Business College and Plymouth State College.
During World War II, Mr. Richelson served in the U.S. Coast Guard for four years, rising to the rank of Yeoman 1st Class. His active duty included 14 months overseas in the South Pacific aboard the USS Joseph T. Dickman Transport Ship, one of the two largest personnel carriers in the war.
After the war he joined his father and brother Julius (now deceased), spending the next 46 years, operating Richelson’s Dept. Store in Plymouth.
Mr. Richelson served on the Board of Directors of the Pemigewasset National Bank. He was a charter member of the Lions Club where he held almost every office during his 50 years of service. He was honored as a Granite State Fellow by the N.H. Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation.
Mr. Richelson enjoyed an active outdoor life, including fishing, boating, golfing and skiing. In addition, he was an avid bowler, garnering many trophies over the years.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Evelyn (Haverback) Richelson of Plymouth; three sons, Gary Richelson of Derry, Paul Richelson of Plymouth, Bradley Richelson of Framingham, Mass.; a sister, Selma Mehrman of Beverly, Mass.; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mayhew Funeral Home in Plymouth. A funeral service will be held Sunday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m. at the Goodwin Funeral Home, 607 Chestnut St., Manchester. Rabbi Louis Rieser of Etz Hayim synagogue of Derry will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Manchester Hebrew Cemetery in Manchester. James C. Elliott
LAWTON, Okla. - James C. Elliott, LTC (Retired), 78, of Lawton, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003.
He was born July 5, 1924, in Jacksonville, Ill. He grew up in both Chillicothe and St. Joseph, Mo., graduating from high school in St. Joseph. He attended college in Deep Springs, Calif., and enlisted in the Army in 1943. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the Army at Fort Sill on May 31, 1973.
He was married to Cynthia R. Heller on March 15, 1973 in Dallas, Tex.
His awards include the Silver Star for Gallantry in Action in Korea, Distinguished Unit Citation, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal, WWII Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Germany) (Japan), Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, Joint Service Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device, Army Commendation Medal with six overseas service bars and the Meritorious Service Medal.
Following his retirement he worked for Baca Grande Resort Land sales in Colorado and Angel Fire, N.M., and 17 years in the real estate business in Lawton. At the time of his death, he was employed with Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford as a Business Development Specialist in the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center.
He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Fort Sill Officer’s Retired Council.
Survivors include his wife of Lawton; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Steven Jamele of Sanbornton, N.H.; a son and daughter-in-law, James C. Elliott III and his wife Nancy Meers of Oklahoma; a sister, Dorothy "Cissy" Mead of Scottsdale, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Robert, Cheryl and Brian DeKorte, James C. Elliott IV and Patricia Elliott; a great-grandson, Joshua DeKorte.
