Christina P. Folsom
NEW HAMPTON - Christina P. Folsom died at her home in New Hampton on Sept. 20, 2003, after a long illness.
She was born in Plainfield, N.J., on April 23, 1937.
Mrs. Folsom had dedicated her life to teaching. After retiring from the Wellington School in Belmont, Mass., she moved to Nokomis, Fla. Once again she felt called and joined the teaching staff of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School in Port Charlotte, Fla.
In June of 2000 Chris returned to New Hampshire to undergo treatment for her breast cancer at Massachusetts General Hospital. Again she continued in the teaching field as a tutor in the Gilmanton School System.
She also performed volunteer work at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Meredith.
She will be remembered for her dedication to teach children, her radiant smile and a strong will to follow her beliefs. Chris will be missed for all that she meant to each of those who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Dick Folsom; sister, Tillie Mack of Lakeland, Fla.; and bother, Jim Perna of Port Murray, N.J.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Meredith on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Pemi-Baker Home Health & Hospice, 258 Highland Street, Suite 14, Plymouth, NH 03264.
The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of arrangements.
Barbara Ballard
PEABODY, Mass. - Barbara Jean (Yergeau) Ballard, 41, of West Peabody, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Union Hospital in Lynn after a brief illness.
She was the wife of David L. Ballard. She was born in Manchester, N.H., on Feb. 11, 1962, the daughter of Elaine (Dearborn) Yergeau of Portsmouth, N.H., and Joseph R. Yergeau, also of Portsmouth. She was raised in Portsmouth and graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1980. She was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire in 1984 and following her marriage in 1987 had resided in Peabody for the past 16 years.
She had been employed as a department manager for Shaw’s Supermarkets in Beverly and Peabody for 15 years and for the past eight months was the office manager for Cicoria Tree Services of Lynnfield. She and her husband became involved in many community, school, and church activities, but her first priority was that of a loving wife and devoted mother. She was a school aide at St. John’s School in Peabody and also helped in the Girl Scouts program.
Surviving her, besides her husband and parents, are three children, David L. Ballard III, Brittney and Megan Ballard, all students at St. John’s School of Peabody; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen and Kim Yergeau of Windham, N.H., and Kenneth and Jannette Yergeau of Stevensville, Mich.; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Michael Royer of Portsmouth; a stepmother, Barbara Niland Yergeau of Portsmouth; her mother-in-law, Theresa Ballard of Peabody; two brothers-in-law, Steven and his wife Erica Ballard of Middleton, Mass., and Timothy and his wife Darnyl Ballard of West Peabody; a sister-in-law, Susan Ballard of Danvers, Mass.; her dog, "Rocky," and nine nieces and nephews.
Barbara Jean (Yergeau) Ballard, 41, loving wife of David L. Ballard and daughter of Elaine Yergeau and Joseph R. Yergeau, devoted mother of David, Brittney and Megan Ballard. Sister of Glen and Kenneth Yergeau and Patricia Royer. Stepdaughter of Barbara Yergeau and daughter-in-law of Theresa Ballard. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody, facility followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church, Peabody, at 11 a.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Mem. Park, Peabody. Visiting hours on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Paul Masse
DOVER - Paul A. Masse, 79, of 204 Waldron Towers, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, following a period of failing health.
Born in Somersworth on July 31, 1924, he was the son of the late Joseph P.N. and Marie D. (Beaudette) Masse.
He and his wife Jeanne moved to Dover in April 2002 from Zephyrhills, Fla. where they had lived for 16 years. They were former longtime Newmarket residents.
He retired in 1986 from McCallen Co. and had previously been employed at Gallant Manufacturing and H. R. Haines Co. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and had been a former member of the Newmarket American Legion.
He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
Family members include his wife Jeanne M. (LaBranche) Masse whom he married June 15, 1946; a daughter, Simone D. Masse and her husband Philip Kendrick of South Berwick, Maine; two sons, Don G. Masse and his wife Donna Masse of Barrington and Kevin E. Masse and his wife Laurie of Lee; two sisters, Anna Mayo of Somersworth and Anita LaBranche of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Jessica J. Masse, Devin C. Masse, Kelly R. Patterson and Stacie L. Parker.
He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Richard Masse, George Masse and Alice Sprague.
Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church in Dover on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fritz Cerullo, OSA as celebrant.
Burial will be at a later date.

Lucinda St. Laurent
SOMERSWORTH - Lucinda St. Laurent, age 92, died Nov. 14, 2003, at St. Ann’s Healthcare Center in Dover after a short period of failing health.
She was the last survivor of 12 children born to Arthur and Marina (Brisson) Lamay.
She was born in South Berwick, Maine, on March 22, 1911.
She was first and foremost a loving wife to Roland St. Laurent, who died in 1958. She was also the beloved mother of Pauline Wallace of Rochester, Robert St. Laurent and his wife Sheila of Northwood, Jacqueline Casey and her husband Gerard of Somersworth, Elaine Chamberlain of Bradenton, Fla., William St. Laurent and his wife Deanna of Gloversville, N.Y., and Jeanne Donnelly and her husband Michael of Amherst.
She was a doting grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Lucinda was a volunteer with the Foster Grandparents Program for 10 years, mostly spent at Maplewood School in Somersworth. She was a very active and social person and had many friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a grandson, Douglas Chamberlain.
Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Roberge Funeral Home 298 High St. Somersworth. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday at St. Martin Church with Fr. Dan St. Laurent, her nephew, as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Friends of Foster Grandparents Program, 249 Pleasant St. Concord, NH 03301 or to Seacoast Hospice 642 Central Ave., Dover.
Samuel Rouleau
BROOKFIELD - Samuel J. Rouleau, 75, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, while at Maine Medical Center.
Born in Milton on Aug. 10, 1928, he served in the U.S. Navy for two years and spent the rest of his life doing what he loved, logging. Sam loved fiddle music and made many friends listening to and playing with them.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara and his children: Cindy and her husband Mike Howard; Linda Rouleau; Syd Rouleau and his wife Becky; Cy Rouleau and his wife Jen; and Amy and her husband David Glidden. Sam also had seven grandchildren and three sisters, Olivine, Yvoune and Rosemarie.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Richard Pecunies
PORTSMOUTH - Richard C. Pecunies, 69, husband of Janet (Brewster) Pecunies, of 11 Sewall Road, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
He was born in Portsmouth on July 1, 1934, the son of Mildred (Tetherly) Pecunies and the late James P. Pecunies.
Mr. Pecunies was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1952, and University of New Hampshire Class, of 1962.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1957 during the Korean War.
For several years, Mr. Pecunies was employed as a school teacher for the Portsmouth School District, retiring from the position of administrator and negotiator.
Mr. Pecunies was a communicant of St. James Church where he formerly served as a Eucharistic minister; was a former library trustee for the Portsmouth Public Library and was a member of the National Education Association.
He was an avid reader, enjoyed shopping for antiques, gardening and especially cooking. He loved his family and even during his lengthy illness maintained his wonderful sense of humor which will be missed by all who knew him.
Besides his wife Janet of 42 years and his mother, Mildred (Tetherly) Pecunies of Eliot, Maine, survivors include a son, David T. Pecunies and his wife, Callie of Bethel, Maine; a brother, Robert Pecunies of Portsmouth; two aunts, Elizabeth Larsen of Ely, Nev., and Eleanor Smith of Livonia, Mich.; an uncle, Norman Tetherly of Eliot, Maine, and four nieces and cousins.
Robert Bolduc
ROCHESTER - Robert A. Bolduc, 61, of 142 Brock St., died at his home on Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, surrounded by friends and family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Robert was born in Rochester on June 24, 1942, the son of Alpha and Lucia (Laurion) Bolduc and was a lifelong resident of Rochester. He was employed as a machinist at Thompson Center Arms in Rochester.
He was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church where he always sat in the back row with an aunt Cecile and his friend Patty. He was a member of the Farmington Country Club for a number of years and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He loved to fish, hunt, camp and tell outrageous jokes. He liked to play cribbage, pool, horseshoes and dominoes. His greatest love was playing his drums, especially "Wipe Out."
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 20 years, Carol (Scott) Bolduc of Rochester; three daughters, Marlene Bolduc, Debbie Rainaud of Milton and Carolyn Shickley of Webster, Mass.; three sisters, Theresa Grondin of Rochester, Priscilla Drouin of Farmington, and Jeannette Menard of Lebanon, Maine, and one brother, Roger Thivierge.
He also leaves several grandchildren; his father-in-law, Leo V. Scott of Dover; six brothers-in-law, Vaughn Scott, Ralph Scott, Russell Scott, Jim Scott, Ken Scott and Jeff Scott; a sister-in-law, Joyce Caron, as well as nieces, nephews and numerous friends along with his beloved Chinooke.
Visitation will be at the H.J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 North Main St., Rochester, on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon on Monday at Holy Rosary Church, 189 North Main St., Rochester with Fr. Jason Jalbert officiating.
Ervin V. Bascom
DOVER - Ervin V. Bascom, 81, of 18 Applevale Drive, the widower of Dora Eva (Cole) Bascom, died suddenly Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at his home.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (time to be announced) at the Tasker Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
Flowers are acceptable or those who wish may make memorials in his name to the charity of one’s own choice.

NEWMARKET - Virginia "Ginny" (Daley) Fearns, 81, formerly of Sleepy Hollow Park, died Nov. 15, 2003, at The Pines of Newmarket.
Louis Sarvary
ROCHESTER - Louis Sarvary, 78, of 95 Ten Rod Road, died Saturday afternoon at his home.
