Carol A. Montambeault
TILTON _ Carol A. Montambeault, 66, 31 Deer Street, died at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, Saturday, October 9.
Mrs. Montambeault was born July 19, 1938 in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Dorothy Bragg. She lived in Tilton for 42 years coming from Lakeport. She spent her winters in New Port Ritchey, Fla. She was a telephone operator for New England Telephone Co., for 33 years, retiring in 1993.
Mrs. Montambeault was known for her love of animals. She enjoyed bingo, fairs and auctions. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Life Member Club.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Leo A. Montambeault, Sr.; three sons, Larry A. Montambeault and Lloyd A. Montambeault, both of Laconia, and Leo A. Montambeault, Jr., and his wife Brenda of Meredith.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Friday, October 15, at 10 a.m. at Union Cemetery, Laconia. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Fisherville Animal Hospital, Spay/Neuter Fund, c/o Mary Aranosian, 92 Manor Rd, Penacook, N.H., 03304.

John S. Merrill
NASHUA - John S. Merrill, 83, died Thursday, October 7, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Nashua.
Mr. Merrill was born July 14, 1921, in Lakeport, the son the late John L. and Lona S. Merrill of Rye. He grew up in the Lakes Region. He later moved to Hudson, then to Florida and later back to Nashua to be with family.
He was the husband of Claire (Picard) Merrill of Nashua, to whom he was married for 38 years.
Mr. Merrill worked for Sanders Associates in Manchester and Nashua, and was later employed at RCA in Burlington, Mass.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, crafts, and his family and friends.
Mr. Merrill served in the Air Force for nine years.
Besides his wife, survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law: John G. Merrill of Colorado, and Robert C. and Myra Merrill of Hudson; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Susan Merrill of Colorado, Sandra Howe and her husband Richard, of Milford, Debra Larouche and Maurice of New Boston, Vickie Fraser and her husband Paul, of Mason; a sister, Priscilla Evans of Chatanooga, Tenn; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Lionel and Rachel Picard of Nashua, Donald and Kathrine Picard of Sandown, and Maurice Picard; a mother-in-law, Lucia Picard, whom he adored, of Nashua, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The Cremation Society of New Hampshire in Manchester is in charge of arrangements.
F. Jean Teeters
FRANKLIN - F. Jean Teeters, 79, of Damy Drive, Franklin, died at Franklin Regional Hospital of October 9.
She was born in Germany the daughter of Max and Theresa (Preisinger) Muller. Jean came to the U.S. in 1950 residing in Boston before moving to Sanbornton. She resided on Range Road in Franklin before moving to Damy Drive where she lived since 1994.
Jean graduated from Nursing School in Germany and studied midwifery in Switzerland. During World War II, she worked as a nurse in the 98th Army Hospital in Munich. While in Franklin, she worked at the former Sedgely Home and later Merrill Manor. She continued at Mountain Ridge Health Care Center in Franklin before retiring.
Family members include a sister, Luise Laumeyer of Fischstatt, Germany, and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her close friend, Ronald H. Adams, who died in 1993.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 14, at 11 a.m. in Park Cemetery, Tilton with Rev. Bob Phillips officiating.

Marion C. Roy
CONCORD - Marion C. Roy, 98, died Dec. 3, 2004 at Havenwood Nursing Home in Concord.
She was born in Beverly Farms, Mass., the daughter of Thomas and Bridget (Quigley) Callahan. She was a graduate of Concord High School, Class of 1923.
Mrs. Roy had worked as a legal secretary in the trust department of the Orr and Reno law firm of Concord for 25 years.
She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church and a member of the Carmel Guild and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Margaret K. Desmond 167. Her husband, John A. Roy, died in 1970.
Family members include two nephews, Joseph T. Callahan of Glendale, Ariz., and Brian G. Callahan of Lewiston, Maine; three nieces, Ann M. Lacroix of Gilford, Elizabeth Woodbury of Concord and Barbara J. King of Concord; and several cousins.
Gertrude L. Chase
LINCOLN - Gertrude L. Chase, 80, of Maple Street, died Dec. 5, 2004, at Littleton Regional Hospital in Littleton.
She was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Lincoln, the daughter of Rudolph and Elizabeth (Grono) Rannacher. She attended Lincoln schools.
Mrs. Chase worked for many years as a housekeeper for Woodwards Resort in Lincoln, and until her retirement in 1998, she worked as a machine operator for the Burndy Corp. of Lincoln.
She enjoyed auto racing and was a NASCAR fan. She enjoyed being with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Chase, in 1987 and by a daughter, Frances Ochs, in 1982.
Family members include a son, Robert "Rocky" Chase of Lincoln, three daughters, Barbara Reitsma of Campton and Judith Germain and Beverly Chase, both of Lincoln; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Beckley of Kent, Wash.; several nices, nephews and cousins.
Ralph Cozzens
BOILING SPRING LAKES, N.C. - Ralph Adrien Cozzens, 59, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2005 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, N.C.
He was born June 5, 1945 in Southbridge, Mass., son of the late Ralph and Alice Kiley Cozzens. A U.S. Army veteran, he was the retired owner/operator of Ralph’s TV & Repair in Oak Island, N.C., and an avid bowler.
Survivors include a son, Anthony Cozzens of Buffalo, N.Y.; two sisters, Kathy Pascale and Cindy Vance, both of Boiling Spring Lakes, N.C.; two grandchildren, Alexandria and Nicholas Cozzens of Fayetteville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
William Olliver Bailey
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - William Olliver Bailey, former president, chief operating officer, and vice chairman of Aetna Life & Casualty Company and former CEO and chairman of the board of MBIA Inc., died of pneumonia on Jan. 28, 2005 at age 78.
A leading figure in the insurance and financial guarantee industries for five decades, he played a key role in launching the financial guarantee industry in the early 1970s, a multi-billion dollar industry today. He was most recently chairman, CEO and president of Terra Nova (Bermuda) Holdings and Terra Nova Reinsurance Ltd., (London).
He served on the boards of the Loomis-Chaffee School and the Institute for Civil Justice at the Rand Corp. He was awarded an honorary degree from Bryant College and the University Medal from the University of Hartford.
Born on July 1, 1926 in Syracuse, N.Y., the son of William Emerson. and Kate Olliver Bailey, he grew up in Northampton, Mass., served in the United States Navy during World War II, and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1947. He received his MBA in Insurance from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania in 1949.
A former resident of West Hartford, Conn., Southampton, Bermuda, and Moultonborough, he was predeceased by his parents, his sister Ann Bailey Doane, and two sons, John Mason Bailey and Thomas Wood Bailey. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Carole Parsons Bailey, and three children, son George (wife Marsha) Bailey of Northampton, Mass.; daughter Janet (husband Wilson) Faude of West Hartford, Conn., and daughter Carolyn Bailey of Lexington, Mass., as well as six beloved grandchildren, Kai and Aquila Bailey, Sarah and Paul Faude, and Adriana and Dylan Akers. Also surviving are nephews George Woodward Doane of Richmond, Wash., Robert Bailey Doane of Vallejo, Calif., and his longtime caregiver and friend, Sylvia Grant-Reeves.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in West Hartford, Conn. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Bartholomew's Church Flower Fund, The William O. Bailey Scholarship Fund at Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH, or the Squam Lakes Association Sailing Program, Holderness, NH 03245.
Richard B. Colby
NAPLES, Fla. - Richard "Rick" B. Colby, 46, of Naples, Fla. and formerly of Laconia, died at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa Fla. on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 with his family by his side.
He was born on May 30, 1958 in Laconia, the son of Richard C. and the late Priscilla (Brown) Colby. He attended the Laconia schools and in 1977 graduated from Laconia High School. He then attended the University of New Hampshire.
He worked for Gunstock Ski Area, the N. H. Electric Cooperative, UPS., Linens "n Things and in recent years, while living in Florida, he worked at Bed, Bath & Beyond. He had lived in Florida for the past fourteen years. He enjoyed life. In his youth, he played Little League baseball, participated in Boy Scouts and sang with the Colby Trio. He played football in high school and played the trumpet in the band. He enjoyed water skiing and snow skiing and coached a Little League team. He liked to cook, spend time with family, watch the Patriots, ride roller coasters and traveling. One of his favorite places to visit was Disney World.
"We will miss his large presence in our lives, his thoughtfulness, friendliness and that happy, contagious laugh."
Survivors include his loving and devoted fiancee, Carol Nichols, and her two sons, David and Samuel Nichols, of Naples, Fla.; his father, Richard C. Colby, of Laconia; a sister, Catherine Lines, and her husband, Paul, of Gilmanton Iron Works; a brother, Jeffrey, and his wife, Kathleen, of West Roxbury, Mass.; a niece and nephews, whom he enjoyed spending time with: Carolyn, Tim, Chris and Derek. He was predeceased by his mother, Priscilla Colby, in 1996 and by a brother, Christopher R. Colby, in 1963.
There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Laconia Congregational Church, Veterans Square, Laconia, Rev. Dr. Warren H. Bouton, Pastor of the Church, will officiate. A Memorial Service is also being planned in the near future to take place in Naples, Florida. Spring burial will be in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia.

Kenneth E. Wade
MEREDITH - Kenneth "Ken" E. Wade, 75, of 23 Gould Avenue, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005.
He was born Sept. 12, 1929 in Conway, the son of Leland and Nina (Hiscock) Wade. He lived in Conway for several years before moving to Meredith forty-six years ago. He served in the U .S. Navy during WWII. He was a self-employed carpenter. He was employed at Kellerhaus for fifteen years and also at Hart's Turkey Farm Restaurant for ten years.
He was a life member of the Grange, the Elks and the Odd Fellows.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly P. (Kimball) Wade, of Meredith; three sons, Russell Brown of Meredith, Clifford Brown of Rochester and Christopher Parris of Meredith; one daughter, Patricia Farrington, of Methuen, Mass.; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; a brother, Carroll Wade, of Conway; a sister, Pauline Merrill, of South Tamworth; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Geneva Wade.
There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at the family lot in Oakland Cemetery, Meredith Center. William W. Norris
RUMNEY - William "Bill" Wallace Norris, 44, of Quincy Road, died June 28, 2002, at Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth. He died as a result of a heart attack while working in his garden.
He was born in Brockton, Mass., on Nov. 7, 1957, the son of Joseph and Beatrice (Stack) Norris.
Mr. Norris graduated from West Bridgewater High School in West Bridgewater, Mass., in 1976. He was a self-employed carpenter and had moved to Rumney in 1984.
He was a talented and artistic craftsman. His best time was spent with his children. He was a devoted father and will be sadly missed. He was an avid outdoorsman and gardener.
Survivors include one daughter, Faith A. Norris of Meredith; two sons, Gabriel D. Norris and William R. Norris, both of Rumney; one sister, Mary Drake of Meredith; one brother, Joseph Norris of Stoughton, Mass.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held in the Rumney Baptist Church on Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Donald Macomber will officiate.
