Herbert W. Nims
STONEHAM, Mass. - Herbert W. Nims, 84, died Saturday, April 3, 2004, at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia, N.H.
Born in Watertown, Mr. Nims was the son of the late Frederick and Mae (Masterton) Nims.
He was a traffic director for the town of Stoneham for many years.
He served in the Marine Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel (Downs) Nims; two sons, David Nims and his wife Dale and Steven Nims and his wife Eileen; five grandchildren, Laura and Stephen Nickerson and Briana, Sarah and Kelsey Nims; two sisters, Arlene Young and Joan Stander and a brother, Fred Nims; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Nims.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours today from 5-9 p.m. at the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St., (Route 28), Stoneham. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham.

Marjorie Haselton
SANBORNTON - Marjorie E. Haselton, 88, of Hermit Woods Road, Sanbornton, died at Franklin Regional Hospital on April 4, 2004.
She was born in Winchester, Mass., on Feb. 28, 1916, the daughter of Albert and Helena (Harmon) Kenney. She was raised in Reading, Mass. Later she moved to Athol, Mass., and then to North Reading, Mass., where she lived for many years. She became a summer resident of Sanbornton in 1949 and moved here permanently in 1974.
Mrs. Haselton was employed as a librarian in Athol and North Reading, Mass., and later with the Bookmobile of The Eastern Regional Library in Massachusetts for 19 years.
While in Sanbornton, she was a trustee of the Sanbornton Library and was an active member of the Sanbornton Congregational Church. She was a member of the church choir and was the former editor of the Belfry News, the church’s bulletin.
Mrs. Haselton was the Sanbornton town reporter for the Franklin-Tilton Telegram for many years. She was honored by the town of Sanbornton for her many years of writing the column.
Mrs. Haselton was the widow of Richard S. Haselton, who died in 1975.
Survivors include two children, Mrs. Meredith J. McKeague of Byfield, Mass., and Stephen S. Haselton of Sanbornton; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 10, at 2 p.m. at the Sanbornton Congregational Church, Sanbornton Square, Sanbornton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mrs. Haselton may be made to the Sanbornton Public Library, PO Box 88, Sanbornton, NH 03269.

Lawrence H. Larsen
LACONIA - Lawrence H. Larsen, 53, of 67 High St., died on Friday, May 28, 2004 at Genesis Eldercare Network, Laconia Center.
Mr. Larsen was born Nov. 25, 1950 in Brockton, Mass., the son of the late Harold P. and Anita G. (LaDeau) Larsen. He was a long-time resident of Brockton, Mass., before moving to Laconia three years ago.
Mr. Larsen served in the Navy. He worked for the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority as a diesel mechanic for 25 years until his retirement.
Mr. Larsen attended the local AA.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara E. (Colman) Larsen of Laconia; a daughter, Sarah Larsen, of Laconia; two sisters, Andrea O'Brien of Brockton, Mass., and Marilyn Camelio of Randolph, Mass.; four nephews, Michael O'Brien, Greg O'Brien, David Camelio and Jack Camelio.
He was predeceased by a niece, Christine Camelio.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 11, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.

Donald A. MacIver
TILTON - Donald A. MacIver, 66, of 86 High Street Ext. in Tilton died suddenly at his home, June 6, 2004.
He was born in Laconia, Dec. 19, 1937, the son of Angus and Mary (Foley) MacIver. He spent his youth in the Lakeport-Laconia areas and was a graduate of Laconia High School.
He lived in Alton for a short time before moving to Tilton 37 years ago.
He served in the Navy.
He was a foundry worker and worked for more than 25 years with Laconia Malleable Iron in Laconia and later owned and operated Laconia Earth Anchors. He was a longtime member of the Laconia Lodge of Elks.
He was predeceased by his wife, Norma "Nicki" (McFadden) who died March 29, 1991.
Survivors include a daughter, Julia S. MacIver of Dover; two sons, Christopher J. MacIver of Gilford and Timothy D. MacIver of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Kenneth A. MacIver of Marblehead, Mass.; a niece and a nephew.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 11, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Woodlawn Cemetery in South Berwick, Maine. The Rev. Travis Glatter, pastor of the First Baptist Church in South Berwick, will officiate. Burial will follow.
The William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dora MacEslin
BELMONT - A memorial service will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home on Saturday, June 12, 2004, at 11 a.m. for Dora "Dolly" L. MacEslin, RN, 87, of 9 Oak Drive, who died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.
Mrs. MacEslin was born April 16, 1916, in Laconia, the daughter of Valere F. and Kilda M. (Fillion) Drouin and was the widow of Charles H. MacEslin, who died in 1994.
She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie MacEslin and Kathie Gregory; one grandchild; three sisters, Joan Shaw of Belmont, Edith Wilbraham of Mentor, Ohio, and Patricia Hollinghead of Madison, Ohio; three brothers, Leo Drouin, John Drouin and Laurent Drouin, all of Belmont; and many nephews and nieces.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Jack Drouin and by two sisters, Alice Laurent and Rita Flack.

Peter B. Clemons
NASHUA - Peter B. Clemons, 64, of 30 Cypress Lane, died June 5, 2004, unexpectedly at his home.
He was born in Rockland, Maine, on May 13, 1940, the son of the late Harold and Helen (Seavey) Clemons.
He attended schools in Maine and graduated from high school there.
He spent the first half of his life in Maine and moved to Nashua 30 years ago.
Mr. Clemons was employed as a software engineer for Bull Information Systems (formerly Honeywell Corp.) for 29 years.
He was an Army veteran.
He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing.
Mr. Clemons was predeceased by his wife, Beverly Ann (Clegg) Clemons, who died on Dec. 23, 1997, a brother, Harold Clemons Jr. and a sister-in-law, Leora Cross.
Survivors include a son, William P. Clemons of Springfield, Mass.; a daughter, and son-in-law, Kathleen M. and Brian Powers of Laconia; two granddaughters, Alyssa and Kylee Powers of Laconia; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private.
