Robin Elizabeth Jones Coyne
Robin Elizabeth Jones Coyne, 43, of Canton, North Carolina, died on Wednesday, February 24, 1999 at Mission St. Joseph's Health System.
She was the daughter of Heber Ken and Muriel Edge Jones of Bellingham, Mass., and lived for a time in the Mount Washington Valley. She had resided in Haywood County, North Carolina for the past 15 years. A graduate of Haywood Community College, she was a machinist.
Her family includes her parents; her two sons, James Coyne of Louisville, Kentucky and Thomas Coyne of Canton, N.C.; and a sister, Yvonne Staples of Bellingham, Mass.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Haywood County, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
Arrangements are by Crawford/Ray Funeral Home.
Mora H. Clemons
Mora H. Clemons, 68, of North Conway, died on March 11, 1999 at The Memorial Hospital in North Conway, following a sudden illness. She was born in Lewiston, Maine, and was the daughter of Willard and Dorothy Pulsifer Conant.
Mrs. Clemons grew up in Buckfield, Maine, and lived in Manchester for 15 years prior to moving to the Mount Washington Valley in 1968. She worked for Sylvania Electric in Manchester, for five years, and Dunkin' Donuts in North Conway in the 1980s. Mrs. Clemons was also a member of the Mount Washington Valley Stompers, in Conway, and an active bowler.
Her family includes four daughters, Candace Snow of Litchfield, Maine, Sandra Smith of Augusta, Maine, Dorothy M. King of Madison, and Nancy L. Tilton of North Conway; a son, Randall J. Cushman of Wells, Maine; nine grandchildren; a sister, Sylvia Scribner of Norway, Maine; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Bartlett Union Congregational Church, with the Rev. George Harvey officiating. Burial will be in the Bartlett Village Cemetery in the spring. Visiting hours will be Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.
Marjorie M. Wakefield
Marjorie M. Wakefield, 95, of Glen, died on March 8, 1999 at the Merriman House in North Conway, following a long illness. She was born in Bartlett, the daughter of William and Rebecca Allan Kittredge.
Mrs. Wakefield was a lifelong resident of Mount Washington Valley. She worked for the 5&10 in North Conway for several years, and received the Boston Post Cane in Bartlett in 1998.
Her family includes her son, Donald A. Wakefield of Glen; two granddaughters, Nancy A. Johnson of Albany and Michelle E. Wakefield of Conway; two great-grandchildren, Kristina and Matthew Johnson, both of Albany; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Donald H. Wakefield, predeceased her in 1960.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway, with the Rev. David Lloyd officiating. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bartlett Village Cemetery, in the late spring. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Urban W. 'Herb' Travers
Urban W. "Herb" Travers, 7 of Kearsarge, died on March 3, 1999 at the Manchester V.A. Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and was the son of John and Mary Travers.
Mr. Travers moved to Kearsarge in 1971. He was a U.S. Army Ranger in World War II, captured in Anzio, Italy, and held as a POW by the Germans for 18 months. He was a nurse at the Providence (R.I.) V.A. Hospital and a self-employed real estate agent. He had also been an insurance agent for Nationwide Insurance Company and Combined Insurance Company, until his retirement in 1986, and he owned and operated Mountain View Lodge in Kearsarge.
He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, and a lector and usher at Our Lady of the Mountains Church in North Conway.
His family includes his wife, Arlene C. Travers of Kearsarge; four daughters, Cheryl A. Horton of Bristol, R.I., Cynthia D. Deluca of Narragansett, R.I., Claudia J. "Corky" Leonard of Freedom, and Meribeth C. Bragg of Madison; a son, Gregory J. Travers of East Greenwich, R.I.; 15 grandchildren; and four sisters in Rhode Island.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Mountains Church in North Conway. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway. Burial will be in the New Hampshire State Veteran's Cemetery in the late spring.

Thomas Cummings Randall
Thomas Cummings Randall, 78 of North Conway, died March 1, 1999 at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway.
He was born February 28, 1921, the son of the late Thomas and Sarah Soule Randall, in Southern Pines, North Carolina.
His family includes his wife of 50 years, Ruth Ryans Randall, of North Conway; a son, Myles Laing Randall of Tampa, Florida; a daughter, Elizabeth Hruz of Fryeburg, Maine; and four grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Cremation Society of New Hamphire, 243 Hanover St., Manchester.
William F. Keohane
William F. Keohane, 83, of Raynahm, Mass. died Saturday, March 6, 1999 at Brockton Hospital, Brockton, Mass. He was the son of William and Catherine Barry Keohane.
Mr. Keohane was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and was employed as a Night Supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service in Waymouth, Mass., retiring in 1978.
His family includes his wife, Therese Crosby Keohane of Raynham; his children, Eileen M. and Stephen Hall of Raynham, Mass. and James F. and Eileen Keohane of Conway; and four grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton, Mass. Funeral services will be held in St. Ann's Church, Raynham, Mass. at 10 .m. Thursday.

Kenneth Fowler
Kenneth Fowler, 57, of Silver Lake, died March 8, 1999 at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway, following a long illness. He was born in Fryeburg, Maine, the son of Thelma Smith Eldridge.
He resided in the Conway and Madison area his whole life. He worked for 27 years as a salesman for the John Sherwood and Silver Lake Hardware Store.
He was an avid lover of bluegrass music and had held Wednesday night pickin' parties at his home for the past ten years.
His family includes his wife, Elva Rolfe Fowler; three daughters, Lisa Pater of Madison, Donna Fallen of Silver Lake, and Mary Cox of Madison; and seven grandchildren.
There will be no visiting hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at the Madison Baptist Church on Saturday, March 13 at 11 a.m with the Rev. Sean Dunker-Bendigo officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Fowler's memory may be made to the Madison Baptist Church or the Madison Rescue Squad. The Baker-Gagne Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wolfeboro and West Ossipee is in charge of arrangements.
Quentin S. Dearman
Quentin S. Dearman, 80, of Madison, died February 28, 1999 at a Bangor, Maine hospital.
He was born in Knoxville, Pa., and lived most of his working life in Amherst, New York, retiring to Madision in 1979. He was a 1937 graduate of Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Pa. and attended Syracuse University, where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon. For many years he was a volunteer for the Gibson Center in North Conway.
His family includes a son and daughter-in-law, James N. Dearman and Mary R. Cathcart of Orono, Maine; and a grandson, Everett J. Dearman, a student at the University of Maine in Orono, Maine.
He was predeceased by his wife, Eugenia Gee Dearman.
Services and burial were held in Knoxville, Pa. on Saturday, March 6. Donations in his memory may be made to the Gibson Center Nutrition Program, P.O. Box 655, North Conway, NH 03860.
Chester R. Gilpatrick
Chester R. Gilpatrick, 65, of North Conway, died on March 1, 1999 at the Merriman House in North Conway, following a long illness. He was born in Hiram, Maine, and was the son of Clifford and Eula Trueworthy Gilpatrick.
Mr. Gilpatrick grew up in Fryeburg, Maine, and had lived in the Conway area since 1960. He worked at the former Fryeburg Academy Farm, the N.H.D.O.T. as a wingman during the winter, and during the summer, for the U.S. Forest Service out of the Saco Ranger Station for many years. Mr. Gilpatrick showed cattle for the Davis family for over 20 years at, and was a lifelong member of, the Fryeburg Fair.
His family includes his companion, Judith A. Pike of Conway; his daughter, Nora G. Martindale of Center Conway; two granddaughters, Claire M. Martindale and Kristin A. Martindale, both of Center Conway; one aunt and several cousins. His son, Chester R. Gilpatrick, Jr. predeceased him in 1970.
A memorial service will be held at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway, on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Pojen Lee officiating. There will be no visiting hours. Burial will be in the Conway Village Cemetery later in the spring.

June Judkins Martin
June Judkins Martin, 56, of East Wakefield, died suddenly on Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro.
She was born June 14, 1942 in Effingham, the daughter of the late Warren and Mary Edwards Judkins. She had resided in Wakefield for many years, having come from Effingham.
A housewife and mother, she had also worked as a cook at the Coocoo's Nest Restaurant in East Wakefield. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially flower gardening.
Her family includes her husband, James D. Martin, Sr. of East Wakefield; four children: Robert Lee Morrill, Sr. of Effingham, Daniel P. Morrill, Sr. of Kearsarge, Diana L. Martin of East Wakefield, and April M. Sprague of Conway; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Judkins of Manchester and Lee R. Judkins of Caribou, Maine; five sisters, Eva Brown of Lebanon, Maine, Pauline Wilson of Sanford, Maine, Mabel Berry of Effingham, Mildred Dineen of Fort Meyers, Fla., and Sue Rogers of Effingham; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Lee Sprague.
A family graveside service will be held on Monday at the Center Effingham Cemetery. Arrangements are by the C.E. Peaslee and Son Funeral Home, Wakefield Road, Sanbornville.
John B. Hartnett, Sr.
John B. Hartnett, Sr., 77, of North Conway, died on April 26, 1999 at the Merriman House in North Conway, following a long illness. He was born in Alton, Ill. and was the son of Daniel and Dorothea O'Connell Hartnett.
Mr. Hartnett served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II, where he was a member of the 29th Bomb Squadron. He worked for several major oil companies prior to moving to Lynnfield, Mass. in 1960, where he was Division Manager of Merit Oil Company, and later Northeast Petroleum. In 1976 the family moved to North Conway, and owned and operated Harcot, Inc. for 12 years.
His family includes his wife of 52 years, Juanita Hartnett of North Conway; his son and daughter-in-law, John, Jr. and Jane Hartnett of Eaton; his brother, Daniel J. Hartnett of Nashville, Tenn.; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
At the request of his family, services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Red Cross or the Salvation Army.
