Dorothy Dickey
LACONIA -- Graveside services for Dorothy "Dolly" Rolfe Dickey, 85, formerly of 30 County Drive and 25 Union Ave., who died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Feb. 27, 2005 will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the family lot in St. Lambert Cemetery, Province Street, Laconia.
Survivors include two sons, H. Wayne Dickey of Woodsville and Harris Lee Dickey of Rockyhill, Conn.; a daughter, Joyce L. Copp-Jewell of Laconia; three grandchildren, Roger Copp, Jennifer Dickey and Paul Dickey; one great granddaughter, Alexandria Copp; a brother, Ralph Noyes, of Laconia and several nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harvey H. Dickey, on July 2, 1990; by a granddaughter, Joanne Bourgoine; by a brother, Donald Noyes and by three sisters, Esther Marcoux, Audrey Richardson and Elsie Howe.

Ruth M. Tapply
BRISTOL - At Ruth’s request a memorial service celebrating her life will be Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at the Newfound Regional High School. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Slim Baker Fund, c/o Betty Seeler, 100 Summer St., Bristol, NH 03222 or to the Tapply-Thompson Community Center, 30 North Main St., Bristol, NH 03222.

Dorothy M. Bowles
LACONIA - Mrs. Dorothy M. Bowles, 66, of 50 Cottage St., died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003.
Mrs. Bowles was born March 17, 1936 in Laconia, the daughter of Wilfred J. and Delia M. (Fortier) Lamontange. She was a lifelong resident of Laconia.
She worked for M & E Manufacturing for eight years and for Franklin Brush for 14 years.
Mrs. Bowles is survived by two sons, Myron O. Bowles, Jr. of Laconia and Michael L. Bowles of Belmont; a daughter, Donna M. Ardine of Belmont; six grandchildren; a brother, Henry J. "Mike" Lamontange of Laconia; and many nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her husband, Myron O. Bowles Sr., who died in 1998.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held in the spring in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia.

Lloyd A. Barnard
BELMONT - Lloyd A: Barnard, 77, of 96 Gray Rocks Road, Belmont, died at his home on Friday, Jan. 31, 2003.
Mr. Barnard was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Boston, Mass., the son of Burton and Ruth M. (Wyatt) Barnard.
Mr. Barnard served in the U.S. Navy during World War II for more than two years on the USS Joseph E. Campbell as a Signalman third class.
Mr. Barnard was the postmaster of the Lochmere Post Office for 28 years; he owned and operated the Barnard General Store and Post Office in Lochmere, retiring in 1985.
He was a member and former 20-year treasurer of the Lochmere Baptist Church in Lochmere and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post of Franklin.
Of Mr. Barnard his family wrote: He was "a simple man who got all he wanted, with dedicated service to his beloved wife Natalie, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren."
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Natalie (Sanborn) Barnard of Belmont; two sons, Spencer Barnard of Denver, Colo. and Steven Barnard of Laconia; a daughter, Nancy Tivey of Lowell, Mass.; a sister, Elizabeth L. Whipple of New York; and a brother, Karl L. Barnard of Lochmere; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by two grandsons, Shawn Barnard and Michael Barnard.
A calling hour will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, on Friday, Feb. 7, from noon-1 p.m., using the Carriage House entrance of the funeral home. A funeral service will be held following the calling hour at the funeral home at 1 p.m.
Spring burial will be in the family lot in Park Cemetery, Tilton.

Isabelle W. Bayley
TILTON - Isabelle "Belle" Walker Bayley, 82, 0f 10 Highland Ave., Tilton, died at home, with her family at her side, on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003 following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Worcester, Mass., Dec. 10, 1920, daughter of John H. and Isabelle M. (Gillon) Flagg. She lived in Loudon for many years and attended the Loudon Village School. She graduated from Concord High School in 1938. She moved to Tilton from Concord following her marriage in 1946.
Mrs. Bayley worked as an executive secretary for the Freight Traffic Division of the Boston and Maine Railroad in Concord prior to her marriage. After spending time as a homemaker, she returned to work as secretary to the Dean of Studies at Tilton Preparatory School. She later became executive secretary to the Headmaster and retired as office manager in 1980.
She was past president of both the Tilton-Northfield Woman’s Club and Ladies Circle of Northfield-Tilton Congregational Church in Tilton.
With her husband, William C. "Bill" Bayley, she was a charter member of the New England MG Club and traveled extensively on many new adventures in both their MGB and later Miata.
She was an avid card and game player, and especially loved the challenge of bridge and crossword puzzles.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Jack and Norman Flagg and two sisters, Jean Hardy and Bobbie Henba.
Her family includes her husband of 56 years, William C. Bayley of Tilton; a daughter, Susan Walker Bayley of Tilton; a son, Brett T. Bayley of San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren, Brett W. Bayley of Long Beach, Calif., and Sarah Ross Bayley of San Diego, Calif.; nieces and nephews.
According to Belle’s wishes, there are no calling hours planned. Burial will be private for her family. A memorial service will be held at a later date with date and time to be announced.
The William F. Smart Sr. Memorial Home of Tilton is assisting the Bayley family with arrangements.

Frederick P. Morse
LARGO, Fla. - Frederick Pershing Morse, 84, formerly of Alton Bay, N.H., died Jan. 31, 2003 in Largo Medical Center.
He was born in Beverly, Mass., and had lived in Florida since 1988.
He was employed by United Shoe Machine Corp. in Beverly, Mass., for 35 years and was a retired Mechanical Engineer.
Mr. Morse was an expert skier and skater and a member of the Men’s Glee Club in Beverly, Mass.
He is survived by a son, Richard Morse of Mill Valley, Calif.
He was predeceased by his wife, Doris Gamble Morse.
John F. Goodwin
CONCORD - John F. Goodwin, 86, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Concord Hospital.
He was born in Plymouth, the son of John and Christie (Morrison) Goodwin. He was raised in Piermont and lived many years in Weirs Beach. He received his high school diploma in 1934 from Bradford Academy, Bradford, Vt., and his BS in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire in 1938.
Following college he started an earth moving contractor business which led to various companies including Goodwin’s Crane and Equipment Service Corp., Goodwin’s Dock and Marine Construction Corp., Goodwin’s Boats and Motors, and finally Goodwin’s Hydrodynamics Inc.
He was a Trustee and Director of Meredith Trust Company from 1956 to 1986 and president of the New Hampshire Society of Professional Engineers.
He was active in Masonry, becoming Worshipful Master of the Mount Lebanon Lodge, No. 32, F. & A.M. in Laconia, and a member of the Bektash Temple Shrine in Concord. He was also a member of Harmony Grange, No. 99 in Sanbornton, Merrimack County Pomona Grange #3 and the NH State Grange.
He was an experienced pilot and also became President of Winnipesaukee Aviation, getting his first license in 1941 on Lake Winnipesaukee as a seaplane pilot. He flew until 1981, eventually attaining multi-engine, instrument and commercial licenses. He owned and flew his own twin engine Piper Apache as a part of his business. He also enjoyed RV travel, golfing, boating and being a grandfather to his 10 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth (Jewell); his son, Carl and wife Bettye of Safety Harbor, Fla.; his son, Dale and wife Jeannie of Dover; five grandchildren, Chris, Scott, Kim, Bill and Mike; and five great-grandchildren, Samantha, Anders, Courtney, Joel and Nicholas.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 12, at 2 p.m. at Weirs United Methodist Church, 35 Tower St., Weirs Beach, N.H. The Chaplain of Havenwood-Heritage Heights, Karen Maleri, will officiate, assisted by Weirs United Methodist Church Pastor Marilyn Ayer.

Robert L. Sharkey, Jr.
LACONIA - Robert L. “Sharkey” Sharkey, Jr., 50, of 33 Roller Coaster Road, died at his home on Sunday, April 6, 2003.
Mr. Sharkey was born May 1, 1952, in Boston, Mass., the son of Robert L. and Anne P. (McGuerty) Sharkey Sr. He lived in Georges Mills before moving to Laconia 14 years ago.
Mr. Sharkey was the warehouse manager for Fisher Ski - USA in Concord for five years before retiring due to illness. He was also co-proprietor of three area businesses, Pheasant Ridge Country Club, Cackling Crow in Gilford and Crossroads at Weirs Beach.
Mr. Sharkey was an avid sports fan, particularly the Boston teams.
Survivors include his mother, Anne P. Sharkey of New London; two sons, Robert L. Sharkey III of New London and Michael J. Sharkey of Watertown, Mass.; a brother, David M. Sharkey of Georges Mills; and his beloved companion, Signe “Ziggy” Wallace of Laconia. He was predeceased by his father, Robert L. Sharkey Sr.
There will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 12, at 3 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia.
