Jason D. Morse
LACONIA - Jason D. Morse, 79, of 7 Nutmeg Circle and formerly of 183 Morningside Drive, died at the Delray Medical Center, Delray Beach, Florida on Friday, March 11, 2005 after a sudden illness.
He was born Oct. 12, 1925 in Boston, Mass. He served in the U. S. Coast Guard during WWII. He came to Laconia in 1946 from Boston. He was founder and owner of Saymore Trophy Co., the J. D. Morse & Co. and Engraving & Awards. In recent years, he was employed at Sawyers Jewelry.
He was a member of Temple B'Nai Israel, Laconia. He was a charter member and former King Lion of the Laconia Lions Club and was recently made a life member of the Club.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Harriett (Cohen) Morse, of Laconia; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary S. & Sandra Morse, of Richmond, Va.; two grandsons, Dustin Morse of Newport News, Va. and Adam Morse of Baltimore, Md.; a sister, Lenore Laskin, of Phoenix, Ariz.; five nephews and a niece, including Robert Sawyer and Judi Rogato, both of Laconia.
There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Temple B'Nai Israel, 210 Court St., Laconia.

Dana B. Huston
ALTON -- Dana B. Huston, 69, of Powder Mill Road in Alton, died unexpectedly March 14, 2005 at the Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro after a sudden illness.
He was born Sept. 24, 1935 in Attleboro, Mass. the son of the late Harold C. and Dorothy (Kerr) Huston and raised in Mansfield, Mass. and Malden Mass. He graduated from Malden High School and the Wentworth Institute in Boston. He was a resident of Alton for 11 years coming from Gilmanton Iron Works, Dennis, Mass., North Reading, Mass.
A retired builder and contractor, he had operated Dana B. Huston & Son Builders, he had also worked for the Middleton Building Supply for a couple of years. He was a former member of the Gilmanton Fire Department, a mason with Masonic Lodge 60 and attended the Alton Lodge 75. He enjoyed hunting and fly fishing and just being outdoors.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Barbara B. (Johnson) Huston of Alton; one son, Charles W. and his wife Marjorie Huston of Wilmot; one daughter, Lynn H. and her husband Terry Wiegel of Norton, Mass.; one brother, Donald L. Huston of Lynn, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Jillian K. Wiegel and Alexander D. Wiegel both of Norton, Mass., Debbie Love of Chichester, Brenda White of Hopkinton, Stephanie Carter of Greensboro, N.C., James Manus of Alexandria, Va., and Bethany Leclerc of Townsend, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial calling hours will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening March 17, 2005 at the C.E. Peaslee and Son Alton Funeral Home School Street, Alton. A Masonic funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. that evening. Internment will be in the spring at the New Riverside Cemetery in Alton. Arthur Pille
WEST ALTON -- Arthur Pille, 89, of 1747 Mt. Major Highway, West Alton, died Monday morning, March 14, 2005, at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia.
He was born Nov. 8, 1915, in Patterson, N.J. He was a long time resident of Fairlawn, N.J., and had been a resident of West Alton since 1971. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a cook, serving in Company B of the 303rd under General Dwight D. Eisenhower. He saw action in the Ardennes and Rhineland Campaigns. He had received the American Service Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and two Bronze Service Stars.
He was employed as an erector engineer for New Era of Hawthorne, N.J., and later worked as a machinist at New Hampshire Ball Bearing until his retirement in 1977. He enjoyed woodworking with his grandkids and great grandkids and gardening.
He was the husband of 63 years of the late Cornelia (Van Wyngarrden) Pille, who died in 2004, and is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Arlene) Conklin of W. Bloomfield, Mich., and Connie Pille of West Alton; grandchildren Michael Sean and his wife Tracey Conklin of W. Bloomfield, Mich., and Mrs. Kevin (Lois) Cole of Lakeport; great grandchildren, Amber Marie Lynn Conklin and Sean Michael Conklin both of W. Bloomfield, Mich.,, Samantha Dawn Cole and Robin Lynn Cole both of Lakeport; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and held at a later date in the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.

August Hoaglund Sr.
ALTON -- August Wilhelm "Gus" Hoaglund Sr., 91, 0f Eagle's Way in Alton , formerly of Hamilton, Mass. died Sunday morning March 13 2005 at the Concord Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Oct. 12, 1913 in DeKalb, Ill., he was the son of the late Jacob and Kristina (Mindas) Hoaglund. He has resided in Alton since 1986, having previously resided in South Hamilton, Mass. for 28 years.
He had been a self-employed carpenter having worked in construction most of his life, and having been a lifetime member of the Carpenters Union 26 of Massachusetts, worked for many other companies in Mass., also had worked as a foreman and superintendent for the Commonwealth of Massachussets, a former building inspector of Hamilton, Mass.
A member of the Good Sheperd Lutheran Church of Laconia, a member of the choir of the church, a former member and past president of the Alton Lions Club, he sang with the Barbershop Choruses in Mass. (SPEBSQUA), had been very active in the Vasa Lodge in Hamilton, Mass., a mason with the Masonic lodge of Marblehead, Mass. and Alton. He will be remembered for his jokes and love of life.
Survivors include, a son, August W. (Gus) Hoaglund Jr. and his wife Sharon of Newburyport, Mass.; a daughter, Linda and her husband Donald Matson of Alton; four grandchildren, August W. and wife Maria Hoaglund III of Poultney, Vt., Don and his wife Karen Matson of Charlotte, N.C., Wendy Matson of Concord, and Eric Hoaglund of Whitefish, Mont.; great-grandchildren August W. Hoaglund IV and Siena Hoaglund of Vermont, Jeff Matson and Ashley Matson of N.C., and Tyler Hurd of Concord. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 and half years Eleanor May (LeFort) Hoaglund on April 15, 2003.
Calling hours will be on Friday March 18, 2005 from 4–7 p.m. at C.E. Peaslee and Son Alton Funeral Home School Street in Alton. A funeral will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the lay clergy person Mark Tonnesen of Good Sheperd Lutheran Church officiating. Laurie Jean Sutherland
MOULTONBORO -- Laurie Jean (Sunderland) Sutherland, 65, of Moultonboro died peacefully on March 14 after a long illness.
She was born in Hartford, Conn., July 10, 1939, the second child of F. Wesley and Clarice (Dalkin) Sunderland. Laurie graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine in 1961, and took courses toward a degree in special education from Plymouth State College. Prior to moving to New Hampshire, she taught history, geography, physical education and driver education in Rocky Hill, Conn. and later in Dumont, N.J.
She was an active volunteer in the community of Moultonboro and was involved in the initiation of the Moultonboro Parks and Recreation Department in the mid-1970s. She enjoyed working for the Moultonboro Police Department from 1982-1987.
Most recently, Laurie worked with the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation in establishing the Meredith Village Savings Bank/James D. Sutherland Scholarship fund and serving on the Moultonboro Community Association Scholarship Trust. She was also an incorporator for N.H. Charitable Foundation, as well as incorporator for Lakes Region General Hospital and the Taylor Home of Laconia.
Laurie was passionately enthusiastic about her alma mater, Bates College, and not only volunteered with the Alumni in Admissions but also helped with the Cheney Club of N.H. Alumni during the late 1960’s and early 1970’s.
She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, James D. Sutherland. Laurie was loved and will be missed by daughters Lisa A. Sutherland, Julie Sutherland-Platt, son-in-law Halsey Platt, son Michael J. W. Sutherland, sister Elizabeth S. Watson and brother J. Wesley Sunderland. She was adored by her two grandsons, along with many nieces and nephews.

Gerard Thomas Bolduc
BELMONT -- Gerard Thomas Bolduc, 78, of 57 Seavey Road, Belmont, died at his home on Monday, March 14, 2005 from natural causes.
He was born Nov. 9, 1926 in Laconia, the son of Arthur and Leontine(Paquet) Bolduc. He attended Laconia schools and was a Veteran of World War II. He was a Seabee stationed in the Aleutian Islands during the war and received three medals of distinction for his service.
Gerry was a lifelong resident of Laconia and was a Laconia councilman from Ward 2 from March of 1971 to January 1974. He was a former member and a past president of the Laconia Kiwanis Club, an advisor to the Laconia Key Club, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a Little League coach and volunteered for the Laconia Youth Hockey program. He was an avid golfer.
He was employed by the Public Service Company of New Hampshire for 35 years prior to his retirement.
He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Jeanette (Jordan) Bolduc, in June of 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Brownlee and her husband, Kenneth, of Clifton Park, N.Y.; his son, Gary, and his wife, Darlene, and son, James, and his wife, Mary, all of Belmont; his grandchildren, Nickole Bolduc, Heather Chisholm, Gerred Bolduc, Bryan Chisholm, and a great-granddaughter, Emily Boissoneault; his brother, Francis, of Laconia and a sister, Lorraine Pelkie, of Florida and many nephews and nieces. Gerry was loved by all who knew him and will be missed by many.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2005 from 9-11 a.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia. Kathleen J. Murphy
HOPKINTON - Kathleen J. Murphy, 58, died Monday, April 25, 2005 at Concord Hospital.
She was born in Preston, Okla., the daughter of Floyd W. and Sylvia A. (Pannell) Turner. She was an insurance underwriter for Melcher & Prescott Agency in Laconia for two years. She loved competitive country and western dancing, traveling, camping and fishing.
She is survived by her husband, Eric Murphy of Hopkinton; a son, Bardy Pope of Okmulgee, Okla.; a daughter, Shana Kohnen of Montreal, Canada; two sisters, Marilyn of Okmulgee, Okla. and Janet of Preston, Okla.; three grandchildren, Trinity Kohnen of Montreal, Bailey Pope and Dawson Pope, both of Okmulgee, Okla.; and nieces and cousins.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord.
Funeral services will be held in Preston, Okla.
Ruth Antonides
WATERVILLE VALLEY -- Ruth Caldwell Antonides passed away peacefully on April 26, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born March 13, 1934 in Warsaw, N.Y. to Dorothy Riggs Emmons and the late John Homer Caldwell. She spent her early years in Putney, Vt. where she graduated from Putney School and attended Simmons College and the University of Vermont. While teaching riding at Colorado Rocky Mountain School she met and married William Oakes Antonides in 1955. Her children Kris and Craig were born in Colorado in 1957 and 1959. From 1961-1966 she owned and operated Aspen Copy Service.
In the fall of 1966 she joined the team that opened the Waterville Valley Ski Area and continued to work in many capacities over the years, most recently as Human Resources Manager/Mt. Operations Administrator. She completed her 39th year of service in April 2005. During her tenure at the ski area her career highlights include organizing and overseeing 21 Wednesday’s Child Race events, seven Christa McAuliffe Ski events and 11 World Cup ski races including the World Cup Finals in 1992. The United States Ski Association awarded her the Burkett Dodge Award in 1992 for excellence in race organization. In March of 2005, Jack Williams announced the creation of the Ruthie Antonides Annual Service Award as part of the Jack William’s Foundation for Wednesday’s Child. The annual award will be given to the individual or company that exemplifies dedication to helping find homes for special needs children who are without families.
She was very active in the community and had served as a selectmen in Waterville Valley since the fall of 2002. Additionally, she served on many boards and was president of the Waterville Valley School Board, the Village Condominium Association and the Waterville Valley Athletic & Improvement Association. She was and avid golfer, hiker an accomplished skier.
Family members include her son, Craig Caldwell Antonides of Waterville Valley; and her daughter and son-in-law, Kris and Bruce McKinnon of Glenwood Springs, Colo. Other surviving family members include mother, Dorothy Riggs Emmons of Brattleboro, Vt., brothers John Caldwell, William Samuel Caldwell of Putney, Vt., Peter Caldwell of Pine Plains N.Y. and many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the Waterville Valley Ski area at Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 11 a.m. Private internment will take place at the Waterville Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be sent to Pemi Baker Hospice, 258 Highland St., Plymouth N.H. 03264. Mayhew Funeral Home in Plymouth is in charge of arrangements.
Sandra O'Leary
BELMONT -- Sandra 'Sandi" B. O'Leary, 56, of 26 Hill St., died at the Hospice House in Concord on Monday, April 25, 2005.
She was born Oct. 14, 1948 in Arlington, Mass., the daughter of Donald and Jean (Webster) Banks, Sr. She lived in Peabody, Mass. for several years before moving to Belmont four years ago. She was an accountant at Gould's Motors, Bedford, Mass. for 15 years.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish, Belmont. She loved horses, was very involved with the Rainbow Girls and enjoyed volunteering with the Masonic Association.
Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" O'Leary, of Belmont; two sons, Seth Banks of Belmont and Brendon O'Leary of California; two daughters, Erin Vaccaro and Chrissy Rock, both of California; her father, Donald Banks, Sr., of Florida; her stepmother,Doris Banks, of Florida; two brothers, Ronnie Banks of Arizona and Donald Banks, Jr. of Massachusetts; a sister, Brenda Land, of Massachusetts and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her mother, Jean Banks.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2005 from 5-8 p.m. in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, N.H. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 29, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main St., Belmont. Burial will follow in the family lot at South Road Cemetery in Belmont.
