Born Nov. 5, 1927 in Revere, Mass., she was the daughter of William and Katharine (Boyd) Quirk. She attended Revere High School before becoming a supervisor for New England Telephone and Telegraph. She later moved to Moultonboro, her home for 46 years, and married Russell A. Lamprey in November 1956.

Instrumental in helping Moultonboro secede from the then seven-town regional school district and build its own school, she went on to serve on the Moultonboro School Board and also was a longtime supervisor of the checklist.
The foundation for more than one political campaign was laid at Mrs. Lamprey’s kitchen table, and local and county candidates quickly learned the key to their election was garnering her endorsement. She served on the building committee that oversaw construction of the Moultonboro Town Hall and had begun to work on the committee planning for the soon to be built Life Safety Building at the time of her illness.
She was an avid gardener and an accomplished gourmet cook, who enjoyed sharing her holiday table with the elderly and others who had no family of their own. She also enjoyed raising exotic fowl, including a peacock and a peahen.
She is survived by her husband; a sister, Margaret Benson of Farmington, Conn.; a son, Russell Scott Lamprey of Moultonboro and his wife, Robin O. Lamprey; two daughters, Evelyn S. Lamprey of Portsmouth and Katharine I. Alberthal and her husband, Charles, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandsons, Russell James Lamprey of Moultonboro and Patrick S. Breden of Rochester; and one great-grandson, Ryan Vachon Breden, also of Rochester.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Lamprey home at 34 Clark’s Landing on Saturday, May 11, at 1 p.m.
Those wishing to make memorial donations should send them to the Moultonborough Visiting Nurse Service, who made it possible for Mrs. Lamprey to remain at home with her family throughout her illness.
