Phyllis H. Mahan
CONWAY - Phyllis H. Mahan, 80, of Kearsarge, died Sept. 17, 2000, at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway.
She was born in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Ernest and Maddelon (Woods) Heckman. She lived in Wayland, Mass., for 12 years and in North Hampton for 18 years, before moving to Kearsarge in 1995.
She graduated from Acton High School in Acton, Mass., in the class of 1937, and also graduated from LaSalle Junior College in Newton, Mass., in 1939.
She owned and operated the House of Travel in Hampton for 12 years, prior to retiring in 1995.
She was a member of the North Conway Country Club and was a charter and honorary member of the Prospector Ski Club in Bartlett.
Her surviving family includes her husband of 57 years, Gilbert G. Mahan of Kearsarge; two daughters, Darvy J. Lanpher of Hoffman Estates, Ill., and Bonnie L. Schuh of Derry; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m., at the Jackson Community Church, with the Rev. Pogen Lee, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.

Trinity Kathleen Thompson
BROWNFIELD, Maine - Trinity Kathleen Thompson, infant daughter of Amy K. Rollins and Rexford D. Thompson, died September 15, 2000, at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway.
The family includes: her parents of Brownfield, Me.; her maternal grandparents, Herbert and Mickey Rollins of Brownfield; her paternal grandparents, David R. Thompson of Berlin and Mary B. Thurston of Ossipee.
Private services will be held at the family home with Pastor Eric Ness of Center Conway Baptist Church, officiating.

Yvette Walsh
GORHAM - Mrs. Yvette Walsh, 68, of 38 Gorham Heights Road, Gorham, N.H. passed away Friday, September 15, 2000, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Walsh, a longtime resident of the Berlin-Gorham area, was born March 25, 1932 in New Bedford, Mass., the daughter of Freeman and Rhea Desruisseau Belliveau.
She began her career in healthcare as a licensed practical nurse in pediatrics at the St. Louis Hospital in Berlin, N.H., She then worked at the Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, N.H., where she devoted most of her career to caring for those in the psychiatric unit. She also enjoyed the many activities and friendships she had at the Royalty Athletic Club.
Mrs. Walsh is survived by the following: her husband, John F. Walsh, Gorham, N.H., a columnist for The Berlin Daily Sun; her son Michael Rancourt of Berlin, N.H.; her daughter Charlotte Rancourt of North Grafton, Mass.; three brothers, Norman Belliveau (and Muriel) of Nashua, N.H.; Robert Belliveau (and Elaine) of Manchester, N.H.; and Girard Belliveau (and Joanne) of Manchester, N.H.; her aunt Rita Audette (and William) of North Dartmouth Mass.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 18, at 4:30 p.m. at the Fleury-Patry Funeral Home, 72 High Street, Berlin, N.H. Calling hours will be held Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of service.

Joan (Scruton) Schultze
TAMWORTH - Joan (Scruton) Schultze, 64, of Mountain View Estates Road, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, September 13, 2000, at the Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro.
She was born on July 17, 1936, in Ayer, Mass., the daughter of William and Lorraine (Stone) Scruton. She had lived in Tamworth since 1986, having moved from Hampton Bays, N.Y.
Schultze was the minister of music for Wolfeboro First Congregational Church in Wolfeboro for over 13 years, and a piano teacher for many years. She was a member of the Wolfeboro First Congregational Church, a member of the Community Bridge Club in Tamworth and enjoyed craft fabrication with her husband.
She is survived by her husband, William C. Schultze, Sr. of Tamworth; three sons, William C. Schultze, Jr. of Portsmouth, Timothy a. Schultze of Syracuse, N.Y. and Andrew K. Schultze of Hampton Bays, N.Y.; a daughter, Allison Wasson of Rochester; her mother, Lorraine (Stone) Scruton of Wolfeboro; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17, at the Wolfeboro First Congregational Church on South Main Street in Wolfeboro. Rev. Dr. Walter Thyng will officiate. The burial will be private.

Cindy Evans Stanis
TAMWORTH - Cindy Evans Stanis, 44, died at her parents home on Wednesday, September 13, 2000 after a long battle with cancer.
Cindy was born in North Conway, attended local schools, graduated from Kennett High and attended Keene State College. She served three years in the U.S. Navy. Prior to her illness she worked for Provident Bank of Maryland.
The family includes her parents, Gordon "Scott" and Marilyn "Mayno" Larrabee Evans of Tamworth; a sister, Wendy Wells of Moultonborough; a brother, Jeffrey Evans of Columbus, Ohio; her husband, Kenneth Stanis of Maryland; two stepchildren; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be Sunday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m. at South Tamworth United Methodist Church in South Tamworth. Pastor Murray Nickerson will officiate.
Burial will be private.

Arthur H. Blake
BROWNFIELD - Arthur H. Blake, 73, of route 160, died Friday, September 15, 2000, at the Fryeburg Healthcare Center. He was born in Brownfield, the son of Arthur and Wilma Pratt Blake.
He graduated from the Old Bean Memorial High School. He enlisted in the navy in 1945, and after two years was transferred to the navy reserves, at which time he attended the University of Maine for one year. He then worked at a woolen mill, and graduated from New England Institute of Applied Science. He worked as a funeral director.
He retired in 1970, after having worked at Oxford Paper Company in Mexico. He was a former selectman for Brownfield, a member of the grange and historical society, and was a 50 year member of the Mount Moriah Lodge of Masons.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Helen Rogers Lewis Blake of Brownfield; one daughter, Pamela Hartig of Raymond; one son, Ronald Blake of Brownfield; eight stepchildren, John Lewis and Ralph Lewis, both of Fryeburg, Rose Barton of Bradenton, Fla., Edith Merrill, Barbara Landry, Laura Sanborn and Louise Huntress, all of Brownfield, Brenda Brown of Hiram; one brother, Roger Blake of Belfast; three sisters, Josephine DeRocher of Brownfield, Evelyn Stacy of Parsonfield, Shirley Files of Weirsdale, Fla.; 22 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24, at Pine Grove Cemetery in Brownfield.

Evelyn G. Amann
CONWAY - Evelyn G. Amann, 94, of 36 Chase Avenue in Conway, died Sept. 13, 2000, at the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in North Conway after a period of failing health.
She was born in Kearny, N.J., the daughter of Evaleen and Edward Amann. She grew up in Kearny and graduated from Kearny High School. She also graduated in 1925 from the former Montclair Normal School, which is now Montclair State University.
Amann taught in the Wyckoff (N.J.) School System and the Kearny School System for 38 years before retiring in 1964.
She moved to Conway in 1974 and had been a member of the Mount Washington Valley Chorus and the Memorial Hospital volunteers. During her retirement years, she traveled extensively to Europe and New Zealand.
She is survived by a niece, Phyllis Peltack of Denver, N.C., and a cousin, Barbara V. Ferris of North Conway.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Margaret's of Scotland Anglican Church in Conway, with Rev. Angelo D'Onofrio, rector, officiating. Donations in her memory may be sent to St. Margaret's Anglican Church, Pleasant Street, Conway, NH 03818.

Mark C. Bierweiler
OSSIPEE - Mark C. Bierweiler, 18, of Brookwood Drive in Ossipee, died Sept. 13, 2000, in Wolfeboro from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mark was born Dec. 28, 1981, in Falmouth, Mass., the son of Robert "Chip" and Barbara (Conery) Bierweiler, and had lived in Ossipee for most of his life. He attended local elementary schools and Kingswood Middle School. He graduated from Kingwood Regional High School in June of 2000.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Wolfeboro. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, snowboarding and mountain biking. For 10 years he spent summers at the YMCA Camp Belknap in Tuftonboro.
He is survived by his loving parents, Robert "Chip" and Barbara (Conery) Bierweiler, of Ossipee; a sister, Robin A. Bierweiler, of Ossipee; maternal grandfather, Lloyd Conery, of Wolfeboro; paternal grandparents, Bob and Gwen Bierweiler, of Vero Beach, Fla.; paternal great-grandparents, Fred and Ferne Bierweiler, of Wolfeboro; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be no calling hours. Memorial services will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church on South Main Street in Wolfeboro. Rev. Dr. Walter Thyng will officiate.

Vernon H. Meisner
EAST WAKEFIELD - Vernon H. Meisner, 80, of Wyman Point Road, now known as Cove Road in East Wakefield, died Sept. 8, 2000, after a long illness at the Extended Care Facility of the Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro. He resided there since December 1999.
He was born Jan. 31, 1920, in Black Point, Nova Scotia Canada, the son of the late Charles and Maude (Colp) Meisner. He was raised in Medford, Mass., and graduated from Medford High School. He lived in Medford and Seekonk, Mass., until 1985 when he moved to East Wakefield after summering there since 1960.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and had served on the carrier U.S.S. Randolph.
He retired in 1985 as truck driver for 45 years for the Exxon Company. He worked in Boston, Mass., East Providence, R.I., and Everett, Mass., for Standard Oil Company, which later became Exxon Oil Company.
He was also a mason with the Masonic Lodge in East Providence, R.I. He loved the outdoors and snowmobiling. He devoted his life to his grandchildren.
He was married for 46 years to Despy B. (Guy) Meisner, who died March 30, 1989.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda Wisnioski-Ricker and her husband Fred of East Wakefield, Joan George and her husband Michael of Effingham, and Barbara Sieczkowski and her husband William of Center Ossipee; four grandchildren, Sheila Wisnioski of East Wakefield, Jason Sieczkowski and David Sieczkowski of Center Ossipee and Jennifer George of Effingham; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours were on Saturday, Sept. 9 at the C.E. Peaslee & Son Sanbornville Funeral Home on Wakefield Road. The funeral was held on Sunday, Sept. 10. Burial was at the Lovell Lake Cemetery.
