Edna Maney Barnard
SOUTHPORT, Maine - Edna Maney Barnard, age 79, the widow of Charles Barnard, Sr., of Southport, Maine died in St. Joseph's Manor on Friday January 21.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a 45 year resident of Southport. She was a loving mother and an accomplished painter who loved nature.
She is survived by her son, Charles Barnard Jr. of Southport; her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Arthur Clark of Fairfax, Va.; two grandchildren, Amy and Jeffrey Clark and one brother, Arnold Maney of Southport. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Maney.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday at 9:20 a.m. from Shaughnessey Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, Fairfield and at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in Lawncroft Cemetery. Ernest A. Rasnick
FRYEBURG, Maine - Ernest A. Rasnick, 71, passed away Jan. 24 at home of complications from Alzheimer's Disease. He was born June 18, 1928 in Jamestown, R.I., moving to Iaeger, W. Va. at the age of 12 where he attended local schools. Immediately upon his high school graduation, he joined the U. S. Army and served two years.
Determined to further his education, with the help of the G.I. Bill, Ernest studied at Coyne Electrical in Chicago, Ill, continuing his education with Thomas Nelson University, Hampton, Va. and through the Correspondence School in Scranton, Penn., obtaining an electrical engineering degree.
Rasnick joined Iaeger Water Works, United Light and Power Company, Iaeger, W. Va., as serviceman, and went on to become the manager for 14 years until moving to Virginia. Under the Department of Defense, he was employed at the Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, Va. and Langley Air Force Base. He transferred to USDA where he was an inspector for municipal and single and multi-family housing projects. He was proud to have helped build the USS Enterprise when at the shipyard. He retired from USDA while stationed in Richmond.
It was Ernest's wish to move back to New England and to pursue his hobbies in photography, flying, literature and traveling. He loved nature, the ocean, children, music and took great interest in gardening, astronomy, politics and anything that challenged him, especially in the field of electricity.
He is predeceased by parents, William and Margaret Manders Rasnick, brothers John, Earl, Richard, Harry, two sisters, Margaret and Ann, and first wife, Jean Hagar Rasnick. He is survived by his wife Annice L. (Neal-Hill) Rasnick and his extended family including Helen G. Hill, Fryeburg and Laurie and art Bugbee, Fairfax, Vt.; a favorite nephew, Rodney Lehtinin of Deer Park and Rosco, N.Y., several nieces and nephews. He leaves many special friends in Virginia and North Carolina.
Private services will be held at a later date.

Madeline W. Tripp
BIDDEFORD, Maine - Madeline W. Tripp, 84, of Pool Street, died Tuesday morning at the Renaissance. She was born in Old Town, Maine on Oct. 6, 1915, a daughter of Adrian and Nellie Lovejoy Ward. She moved to North Conway as a child and was educated locally, graduating from high school in Gorham.
On February 19, 1934, she married Robert C. Tripp in Gloucester, Mass. He died in 1967.
Tripp worked for Cressey's Pharmacy and Red Jacket Motor Inn in North Conway, retiring in 1980.
She was predeceased by a daughter Sandra Lee Tripp in 1951 and one sister, Barbara Ward MacLeod in 1991. She is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Tripp Sargent of Cornish, Maine; three grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in the Spring. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, Maine.
Maxine M. Stimans
FRYEBURG - Maxine M. Stimans, 62, of Fryeburg, Maine, died Jan. 13, 2000 at the Fryeburg Health Care Center. Born in North Conway, the daughter of Arthur and Elsie (Bean) Day, she lived in Fryeburg for most of her life.
The family includes: a son, James Q. Stimans of Greenville; two daughters, Merry L. Perreault of Brownfield, Maine, and Rosemary L. Stimans of Madison; five grandchildren and a sister, Marilyn Fernald of Albany.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway. Visiting hours will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Nancy W. Spencer
CONWAY - Nancy W. Spencer, 76, of North Conway, died Jan. 12, 2000 at her home, following a sudden illness. Born in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Ralph and Alice (Hebblethwaite) Washburn, she grew up in Melrose, Mass. and moved to North Conway in 1975.
She graduated from Melrose High School, class of 1941 and received her BS in nursing from Simmons College in Boston in 1946. Mrs. Spencer was a nursing arts instructor at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass. in the late 1940s and early 1950s. She was a member of the Mountain View Knitters in the Mount Washington Valley.
The family includes two sons, Earle D. Spencer of North Conway and Ralph E. Spencer of Randolph, N.Y.; a daughter, Ruth A. Spencer of Wolfeboro Falls; two grandchildren; a great grandchild; a sister, Ruth Sargent of Stoneham, Mass.; a brother, Edwin Washburn of Andover, Mass. and several nieces, nephews and a cousin. Her husband, LTC Earle H. Spencer predeceased her in 1991.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Solimine, Landergan & Rhodes Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, in Lynn, Mass.
Burial will be in Swampscott Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway and Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Solimine, Landergan & Rhodes Funeral Home in Lynn.
Helene A. "Enie" Jordan
CONWAY - Helene A. "Enie" Jordan, 75, of East Conway, died Jan. 10, 2000, at the Dover Rehabilitation and Living Center in Dover, following a long illness. Born in North Conway, the daughter of Samuel and Martha (Willey) Allan, she had been a lifelong resident of the Mount Washington Valley.
The family includes: two sisters, Eldesta A. "Desi" Sanborn of North Conway and Gwen A. Keith of Raymond; and several nieces and nephews. He husband, Ernest M. Jordan, predeceased her in 1989.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Glen Community Baptist Church with the Rev. William R. Stockhaus, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the North Conway Cemetery later in the spring. Visiting hours will be Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.
John Raymond Lundborn
HYANNIS, Mass. - John Raymond Lundborn, 57, died suddenly at Cape Cod Hospital, on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000.
Born in Boston he was a graduate of Boston Latin High School. He served in the United States Army from 1964-1966, overseas in the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. After returning from the war he worked for The Boston Ice Company.
In 1970, he went to work for Brush Hill Transportation Company in Randolph. He worked there until his death. He was a member and past president, past vice president, and executive board member of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local No. 1548 in Plymouth. He was a member of the Hyannis VFW.
He was the son of the late Raymond H. Lundborn and Barbara B. (Flinn) Lundborn; and brother of the late Donald R. Lundborn, all formerly of Hyannis and Boston. He is survived by his companion and fiancee, Cynthia Gushee of Hyannis and Fryeburg, Maine; two sons, John R. Lundborn of Truro, Mass., and Matthew S. Lundborn of Marshfield. He was the former husband of Sandra J. (Kusser) Lundborn of Marshfield.
A service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 1 p.m. at The Mass National Cemetery in Bourne. Friends and relatives are asked to gather at Doane Beal and Ames at 11 a.m. that morning. Calling hours will be held Monday, Jan. 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Doane Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis.

Donald A. Chase Sr.
JACKSON - Donald A. Chase Sr., of Jackson, died Jan. 10, 2000, at the Sun Bridge of North Conway after a long illness.
Born in Newport, R.I., the son of Joseph and Edna (Almy) Chase, he grew up in Middletown, R.I., and lived in Tiverton, R.I., for 11 years before moving to Jackson in 1955. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Chase had been a finish carpenter and a self-employed contractor for over 40 years.
He had been a member of a Masonic lodge in Rhode Island. He had been a member of the Nonquit Grange in Tiverton, a member of the Young Republicans Club in Tiverton and he was a former Jackson selectman.
The family includes: his wife, Thelma V. Chase of Jackson; his children and their spouses, Donald and Ilene Chase Jr., and Ann and Bob McGraw, all of Jackson, Elaine and George Jackson of Bourne, Mass., and Joan and Tom Calder of Park City, Utah; a stepson and his spouse, David and Alene Toms of Toronto, Ontario; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. His first wife, Norma H. Chase, predeceased him in 1986.
A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Jackson Cemetery wit the Rev. Jack Haney officiating. There will be a gathering for friends and relatives at the Christmas Farm Inn in Jackson following the graveside service. There will be no visiting hours.
The Furber and White Funeral Home, in North Conway, is in charge of arrangements.
Pauline E. Wiesemann
FRYEBURG, Maine - Pauline E. Wiesemann, 83, formerly of Lake Road in Denmark, Maine, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000 at the Fryeburg Health Care Center. She was born in Staten Island, N.Y., the daughter of Joseph and Margaret Rago Curci, and was educated in N.Y. schools. She moved to Maine in the mid-1950s and with her husband, the late John K. Wiesemann. They ran Wiesemann's Bakery in Bridgton, Maine. After her husband's death she worked as a housekeeper for local residents. She also worked for the Bridgton Dress Shop and Pleasant Mountain Ski Lodge. She was a Communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Bridgton, Maine. She enjoyed dancing, singing and time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by four brothers and four sisters. She is survived by two sons, James J. Wiesemann of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., Charles J Wiesemann of Denmark, Maine; one daughter, Marlene Hurley of Denmark; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Wood Funeral Home in Fryeburg. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
LaVerne A. Henn
TAMWORTH - LaVerne A. Henn, 67, of Tamworth, died Jan. 8, 2000, at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway following a long illness.
Born in Elgin, Minn., the son of William and Esther (Warner) Henn, he grew up in La Crosse, Wisc., lived in Beloit, Wisc., for five years and in Groton, Conn., for 25 years before moving to Tamworth in 1994.
Mr. Henn graduated from Central High School, Class of 1950, in La Crosse, Wisc., and graduated from Wisconsin State College in Whitewater, Wisc., in 1960.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was finance director for the town of Groton, Conn., for 25 years.
He was past president of the Municipal Finance Officers of Connecticut; past president of the Groton (Conn.) Lion's Club; and a member of the Morning Star Lodge No. 10 F&AM in Beloit, Wisc.
The family includes his wife of 38 years, Mary L. Henn, of Tamworth; two sons, Steven R. Henn, of Ashaway, R.I., and Joseph L. Henn, of Pawcatuck, Conn.; a daughter, Carol E. Startz, of Yorktown, Va.; a granddaughter, Brooke E. Startz, of Yorktown, Va.; three sisters, Alice Dubbels, of Zumbro Falls, Minn., Marie Brieske and Barbara Peterson, both of La Cross, Wisc.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Conway Village Congregational Church in Conway, with the Rev. Alfred J. Gagnon III, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Conway Village Cemetery. Visiting hours will be today, Monday, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway. There will be a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home during visiting hours.

Richard C. Anderson
Richard C. Anderson, 67, formerly of Ashland and Newton Upper Falls, died, Friday, January 7, 2000 at his home in Tamworth. He was the husband of Margaret A. (Lindsey) Anderson. A resident of Tamworth since 1990, he was born in Newton. He was the son of the late John V. and Sigrid (Edmund) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was formerly employed in the maintenance department of the Leggat McCall Real Estate Company of Framingham. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Albany VFW, former member of the Waltham, Mass. Moose Lodge and an avid fisherman and hunter.
In addition to his wife his is survived by two sons: Robert C. Anderson of Randolph, James V. Anderson of Ashland, two daughters, Deborah A. Lampasona and Donna E. Dewar, both of Ashland. Also one brother Clarence Anderson of Orlando, Fla. and one sister Dorothy Anderson of Newton Upper Falls, six grandchildren and his dog Max.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at Natick Common today from 5 to 9 p.m. A funeral service at 8 p.m. will be conducted by the Rev. Francis Reeves of the First Methodist Church of Newton.
