William T. Patterson
William T. Patterson, 56, of Route 16 in Ossipee, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, after a sudden illness.
He was born Aug. 1, 1943, in Westerly, R.I., the son of the late Roland and Margaret (Martin) Patterson and had lived in Ossipee most of his life. He was a graduate of Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro. He had been employed with the New Hampshire Electric Department, Center Ossipee branch, for 25 years. He was a member of the Ossipee Valley Lodge No. 74 F&AM, and had served as a past master. He also had a love for bluegrass festivals and bluegrass music.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gail (Adjutant) Patterson, of Ossipee; a son, James Patterson, of Atlantic City, N.J.; two grandsons, Joshua and Benjamin Patterson, also of Atlantic City, N.J.; his brother, James Patterson, of Center Ossipee; many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be today, Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lord Funeral Home, Route 28, in Wolfeboro, and a funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Gordon Avery will officiate. Burial will be in the Ossipee Cemetery, Route 171, Ossipee.
Douglas James MacKerron
Douglas James MacKerron, 38, died on September 24, 1999 in the Veteran's Hospital in White River Junction, Vt.
Douglas lived in the Conway area for most of the last 30 years. He attended school in Conway, and graduated from Kennett High School in 1979.
His family includes his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Jack McKerron of Houlton, Maine, where Rev. McKerron is pastor of the Houlton Alliance Church; a brother and family, John and Denise McKerron and daughter Jane Abigail, of New York, N.Y.; a sister and family, Miriam and Perry Bryant, and children, Nathan, Amanda and Matthew, of Lee.
A military memorial service will be held on Monday, October 4 at 11 a.m. in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, N.H.
Arrangements are by the Knight Funeral Home, White River Junction, Vt.
Charles W. "Chuck" Lynch
Charles W. "Chuck" Lynch, 74, died Saturday, June 12, 1999 in Pawtucket, R.I. after an illness of four months.
He was born in Pawtucket, the son of the late Charles and Ethel Lynch. He graduated from West (now Shea) High School in Pawtucket, R.I. While at school he won many awards in oratorical contests and was named valedictorian of his graduating class.
After graduation he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving as a tail gunner for the 8th Army, stationed in England. He was credited with downing enemy aircraft over Germany, and for this received the Distinguished Flying Cross with four oak leaf clusters.
Mr. Lynch was employed by many New England TV stations: Boston, Mass.; Hartford, Conn.; and was the chief engineer for WPRO-TV in Providence, R.I., for many years.
He and his wife came to the Mount Washington Valley in 1974. They owned and operated the Pinecraft Gift Shop and also manufactured furniture under the name "Pinecrafters of N.H." Both businesses were located on the Kancamagus Highway in Conway. They were in both of these businesses for many years.
His family includes his wife of 52 years, Frances Mentil Lynch, of Pawtucket, R.I.; a daughter, Kathleen Demeule of Attleboro, Mass.; a son, C. William Lynch Jr. of North Attleboro, Mass.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lynch's ashes were interred at Mount St. Mary's Cemetery in Rhode Island on September 24, and at a later date some will be interred at Cobb Farm at his beloved chalet near Hart's Ledge.
Margaret K. Colbath
Margaret K. Colbath, 75, of Bradenton, Fla., and formerly of Conway, died on September 25, 1999 at her home in Bradenton.
She was born in Montreal, Canada, and had been employed as a registered nurse. She came to Bradenton from Conway in 1977, and had been a member of the American Legion.
Her family includes her children, Gary Colbath of Rapid City, South Dakota, George Colbath of North Carolina, and John Colbath of Conway; five sisters, Lillian Beall of Arnprior, Ontario, RoseMarie LaRose of Bradenton, Fla., Helen Kenny of Montreal, Canada and Bradenton, Fla., Vera Harvey of Verdun, Quebec, Canada, and Joan Roe of St. Lambert, Quebec, Canada; a brother, Sidney Kenny of Bradenton, Fla.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes, Bradenton, Fla. Donations in Mrs. Colbath's memory may be made to the Our Lady of the Mountains Building Fund, P.O. Box 189, North Conway, NH 03860.
Gareth D. Campbell
Gareth D. Campbell, 66, of Middletown, R.I. and formerly of Conway, died September 29, 1999 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, R.I.
He was born September 21, 1933, the son of the late Merton and Muriel Hardy Campbell. He was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Class of 1955, where he received his degree of science in physics.
Mr. Campbell worked as an electrical engineer for Naval Underwater Warfare Center, in Middletown, R.I. for 25 years, retiring in 1993.
His family includes a brother, Graham Campbell of Conway; and two nephews, Mark and Greg Campbell.
He was predeceased by his wife, Martha Carroll Campbell.
Funeral services and burial will be private. Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, R.I. 02840.
Helen Cole Brett
Helen Cole Brett, 99, of Chocorua, died Tuesday, September 28, 1999 at SunBridge Care of North Conway. She was born July 21, 1900 in Wolfeboro, and had lived in Tamworth for most of her life.
Mrs. Brett was a past member of the Onaway Club, Tamworth, and was Tamworth's recipient of the Boston Post Cane.
Her family includes a son, S. Lawrence Brett of Chocorua; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; a step-sister, Nat Bundy of Hamilton, Mass.; and a step-son, Herbert Cole of Newton, Mass.
She was predeceased by her husband, Manley E. Brett; and by a son, Kenneth Brett.
At Mrs. Brett's request, there will be no calling hours, and graveside services in the Chocorua Cemetery will be private.
Arrangements are by Lord Funeral Home, Center Ossipee.
Jack H. Fuge
Jack H. Fuge, 79, of Center Conway, died September 26, 1999 at The Memorial Hospital in North Conway, following a brief illness. He was born in Nanticoke, Pa., the son of Victor and Louisa Kittle Fuge, and lived in Amityville, N.Y. for 22 years prior to moving to Center Conway in 1968.
Mr. Fuge worked for the Amityville Post Office for 21 years. He worked at the former French's Trailer Sales in Conway, the White Mountain Oil Company in North Conway, and the former Reporter Press in North Conway. For the past ten years, he worked out of the Conway Post Office as a Rural Route Carrier.
Mr. Fuge was an avid pilot.
His family includes his wife of 52 years, Ada Graveson Fuge, of Center Conway; two daughters, Janis Woods of Conway and Susan Olsen Fuller of Fryeburg; three granchildren, Christopher Fleming of Conway, Brian Olsen of Rome, N.Y. and Colby Fuller of Fryeburg; a sister, Elizabeth Keeler of Bethlehem, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Center Conway United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Wesley E. Palmer, pastor, officiating. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.

E. Robert McCloy
E. Robert McCloy, 59, of Brownfield, Maine, died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 22, 1999 at his home. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Edward and Madeline McCloy.
He grew up in Newtown, Pa., and graduated from Maple-Newtown High School and also from West Chester State College in 1963. He attended Syracuse University. He taught social studies at Ridley Township High School, and worked at Bishop Brady High School in Concord, as a custodian. It was there that he received his greatest gesture of respect: the students he loved and respected dedicated their yearbook to him.
Upon moving to Brownfield in 1986 to build his dream house, he worked for a number of companies in the North Conway area: Sonota Housing, Brookstone, Shop'n Save, Shaw's, Briarcliff Motel, Jem-Coin Laundry, and HQ in Portland.
He loved his little acre of paradise in Brownfield, where he fed his birds, walked his much-loved dalmation, Pepper, and watched the deer, moose and bear.
He is survived by his buddy of 22 years, Paul Burns of Brownfield.

Fred D. Lebroke
Fred D. Lebroke, 89, of West Fryeburg, died on Wednesday, September 22, 1999 at Bridgton Health Care Center in Bridgton, Maine, following a brief illness.
He was born in Redstone on June 14, 1901, the son of Charles and Winifred Hammond Lebroke. He attended schools in Chatham and Fryeburg. He was known as a jack-of-all-trades, and had worked in lumbermills, logging, farming, and carpentry.
Fred was a member of the Redmen in North Fryeburg, and the Saco Valley Fire Association volunteer firemen.
His family includes his wife, Florence Warren Lebroke, whom he married July 6, 1940; a son, Willard Lebroke Sr. of North Chatham; a daughter, Linda McAllister of Skowhegan, Maine; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 28 at the Riverside Cemetery on Fish Street, North Fryeburg. Arrangements are by the Raymond-Wentworth Funeral Home in Bridgton, Maine.
