Leonce A. Sirois
Leonce A. Sirois 91, of Third Street, Hudson died Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua.
He was born August 2, 1912 in Canada, the son of the late Joseph and Alphonsine Sirois.
Mr. Sirois was the husband of Beatrice (Charran) Sirois, of Hudson, to whom he had been married
for 53 years.
He was a communicant of St. John Evangelist Church.
Mr. Sirois served 3 years in the Canadian Merchant Marines during WWII. He moved to the USA, from Canada in the late 1940's.
During his lifetime he held numerous occupations including wilderness guide, lumberjack, stonemason, and most recent being a machinist and crane operator for many years at Ingersoll Rand.
In his retirement he enjoyed woodworking, traveling, playing cards, and oil painting.
He was a man devoted to the needs of his family and will be remembered by those who knew and loved him for his kindness, optimism, and joie de vivre.
Besides his wife, survivors include: one son, Raymond Sirois, of Hudson; 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Carol and Donald Lavoie, of Nashua; Linda and Gary Douville, of Chester, New Hampshire; and Jane Matson, of Derry, New Hampshire; one brother, Thomas Sirois, of Milford, New Hampshire and a half sister, Sr. Muriel Martin, of Canada. Survivors also include 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Nancy A. Smart
Nancy A. (Morey) Smart, 67, of Page Road, Litchfield died Wednesday, July 2 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. Born May 18, 1936 in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Rose Anna (Levesque) Morey and wife of Clifton Smart, of Litchfield.
At one time, Mrs. Smart worked at the former JF Mcellwain Company. She was a lifetime member of the Club Social. Her hobbies included dancing, bingo, bowling and western music. Besides her husband, survivors include one sister, Arlene Morey, of Laconia New Hampshire.

Michael R. Thibodeau (Fanning)
Michael Thibodeau (Fanning), 17 of Eayers Pond Rd., Hudson, died Wednesday, October 22, 2003 at his home.
He was born July 25, 1986 in Lowell, Massachusetts. His paternal grandfather, Alfred Thibodeau, predeceased him.
He was a senior at Alvirne High School. His hobby was racing go-karts and he recently raced in the Cocoa Cola 100, placing 3rd. He enjoyed racing go-karts with his sister Kaylee. He was active in sports especially baseball. He recently worked for Spring Hill Catering.
Survivors include: his parents Diane P. (Robson) and Kevin M. Fanning, of Hudson with whom he lived, as well as Raymond and Wendy Thibodeau, of Wilson, North Carolina. Also, four sisters, Nicole Diane Thibodeau, Heather Marie Thibodeau, Ashley Diana Fanning, and Kaylee Maxine Fanning, all of Hudson. His maternal grandparents, Raymond and Ethel Robson, of Wilmington, Massachusetts, and his paternal grandmother, Ruth Thibodeau of Pepperell, MA. One great grandmother Goldie Creamer of Chelmsford, MA. A step-grandfather C. Gerald Fanning of Billerica, MA. His future brother-in-law, Richard Leduc, of Hudson, as well as his girlfriend, Shannon Mikenas. A special family friend Brian Ethier as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Stephen L. Trzos
Stephen L. Trzos, 73, of Hudson, died Monday, July 21, at the Concord Hospital in Concord, New Hampshire.
Born November 3, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Steven and Frances (Ryczek) Trzos.
He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline (Pelkey) Trzos, in December of 1990. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Ted and Stanley Trzos.
Mr. Trzos was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson. He was a longtime member of the Hudson American Legion Post 48 and served in the Korean Conflict.
Prior to its closing, Mr. Trzos was employed as an Assistant to the Lion Tamer at Benson’s Wild Animal Farm.
Survivors include: one son, Stephen M. Bennett of New York; one daughter, Sharon Bangs of Hudson; one sister, Jeanette Primeaux of Texas; 5 step sons, Michael Abbott, Thomas Abbott, and William Abbott all of Hudson; James Abbott of North Carolina; Gerald Abbott of Nashua; 3 step daughters, Donna Abbott of Hudson; Paula Drouin of Tilton; and Gail Owens of Connecticut. Survivors also include two grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
All funeral services for Mr. Trzos are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Homes of Hudson and Nashua are in charge of arrangements.
Ruth (Pearson) Vallone
Ruth (Pearson) Vallone, 81, of Riverview Circle, Litchfield NH, died Saturday, April 5 at her residence surrounded by loving family members.
Mrs. Vallone was born November 6, 1921 in Beverly MA, daughter of the late Herbert and Pearl (Harlow) Pearson.
She was the wife of Luigi Vallone of Litchfield NH.
Mrs. Vallone lived the majority of her life in Hamilton MA before moving Litchfield.
She was an artist who loved to paint and enjoyed creating gourmet meals in her kitchen. She was also a seamstress who made bridal gowns and baptismal outfits for family and friends.
Mrs. Vallone always had an open door and a kind word for everyone and loved to be in the company of her family.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Hazel DiDonato and Merle Blodgett.
Besides her husband, survivors include: one son and a daughter-in-law, Francis Angelo and Wilma Vallone of Knoxville TN, six daughters and sons-in-law, Antoinette and Joesph Paulin of Bartlett NH, Louise Iola and Robert Henderson of Glen NH, Anna Marie and John Cram of Litchfield NH, Christine and Steven Hadley of Salem MA, Lucia and Anthony Picanso of Rowley MA, Alexandra and Guy T. Bellino of Auburn NH, a sister-in-law, Joan Vallone of Beverly MA, as well as 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Alida H. (Dielemans) Weergang
Alida H. (Dielemans) Weergang, 91, formerly of Will Street, Nashua and former resident of Hudson, died Friday, November 21, 2003 at the Hillsborough Nursing Home.
Born September 20, 1912 in Schiedam, Netherlands, she was the daughter of the late Martinus and Joahanna (van Beesten) Dielemans and widow of the late Wouter Weergang.
Mrs. Weergang was a world traveler and also traveled throughout America. She was also an avid gardener. She attended two U.S. presidents’ inaugurals in Washington, D.C., which included President Ronald Reagan and President George H. Bush.
Her name is in the immigrant wall of Honor at Ellis Island. She was a former member of the New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women’s Club and a former member of the Christen Women’s Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Alida Weergang, of Hudson and one niece and several nephews of the Netherlands. Also, very dear friends, the Charbonneau family of Hudson, the Wollenhaupt family of Hudson, the West family of Litchfield and the Dodds, of Maine.

Bertha (Hardy) (Gowing) Anderson
Bertha (Hardy) (Gowing) Anderson, 84, of Gatewood Manor, Nashua died Thursday, March 25, 2004 at community Hospice in Merrimack.
Born March 24, 1920 in Durham, NH she was the daughter of the late Robert and Bertha Etta (Moore) Hardy. She was the widow of Alfred Anderson who died in 1991.
She attended Community Church in Hudson and was a former Superintendent of Sunday School.
At one time she was employed at Sanders Associates, was a former cook at Alvirne High School and Dr. H.O. Smith and also worked with her brother Edward growing carnations.
Her hobbies included playing dominoes with her grandchildren. She enjoyed hiking, was an animal lover, and was known to have a green thumb. She also attended Bible Study weekly at Gatewood Manor.
Survivors include one son, Frederick Gowing, of Hudson, three daughters, Mary L. Chapman, of Sunnyvale, CA., Eleanor Freeman, of Hudson, and Susan A. Stone, of Nashua. Also five brothers, Albert Hardy, of Louisville, KY., John Hardy, of Hudson, Richard Hardy, of NY, Edward Hardy, of Nashua, Charles Hardy, of Hudson and two sisters, Helen Schafer, of Port Charlotte, FL and Margaret Stevens, of PA. Also seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Funeral Service was celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am in the First Church of Nashua, 1 Concord St., Nashua, NH 03060. Visiting hours were Sunday from 2 – 6 pm. Burial was in Hills Farm cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Anderson’s memory to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook, Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054. Clyde Phillip Balevre
Clyde P. Balevre, 55, of Hickory Street, Hudson died Saturday May 8 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston, after a very courageous and lengthy battle with leukemia.
Mr. Balevre was born in Plainfield, New Jersey on February 25, 1949 a son of Barbara (Mouncy) Balevre of Milford and the late Frank Balevre.
He was the husband of Anne (Parent) Balevre whom he married
in August of 1986 at Alvirne Chapel. Mr. Balevre was a longtime resident of Hudson and was an active communicant of St. Kathryn Church where he had a special involvement in the First Communion program.
For many years, Mr. Balevre worked in service management in various manufacturing companies. Most recently he was self-employed as a consultant. He had served in the Army National Guard.
Mr. Balevre had an incredible sense of humor and his ability to make everyone laugh will always be remembered by the many people who knew and loved him. His positive attitude and love of life shone through in anything that he set out to do, including the battle he faced with cancer. His hope was to beat the disease and ultimately help others facing the same illness.
Clyde will be deeply missed by the many people who loved him. He enjoyed boating with his family and fishing with his eleven-year-old son, Steven. Clyde, Steven, and Anne spent their weekends and vacations during the past 5 summers on their 28-foot Bayliner at Mountain View Yacht Club in Gilford, New Hampshire. They made many special friends and treasured each moment there. During the winter months, they enjoyed skiing together.
Besides his mother and his wife, Mr. Balevre is survived by; three sons; Michael Balevre of Wichita, Kansas, Daniel Balevre of Hollis, and Steven Balevre of Hudson; one daughter; Jennifer Pagach of Hudson, Massachusetts; three granddaughters; Brittany, Victoria and Molly; three brothers and sisters-in-law; Frank and Gerry Balevre of Methuen, Massachusetts, Gary and Evelyn Balevre of Georgetown, Texas and Dana and Jeannie Balevre of Green Bay, Wisconsin; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to a fund established for the benefit of Steven Balevre. Donald Arthur Berard
WW II Veteran - Newspaper Man
Donald Arthur Berard, 79, of Abbott Street, Hudson died Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
Born May 27, 1924 in Nashua, he was the husband of Margaret Mary (Mahoney) Berard, of Hudson with whom he had been married
for 53 years. They were married
on May 7, 1949 in Nashua. He was the son of the late Leon Arthur and Clarice Mary (Marquis) Berard.
Mr. Berard was educated in the Hudson grammar school system and was a graduate of Nashua High School, class of 1943. Four days after graduating High School, he joined the U.S. Navy, Armed Guard and performed active service in the North Atlantic and Mediterranean Theatre. His unit provided air and sea protection to Merchant Marine convoys on routes such as New Orleans to Murmansk, Russia in deep winter. These units sustained the highest casualties in naval service.
He was honorably discharged in San Francisco in March 1946, his last post after being en route to the Pacific Theatre.
Upon being discharged, he returned to Hudson and joined the Naval Reserves in June 1946 and started work at the former Osgoods Hardware in Nashua and then onto Hill Bros. Nurseries of Litchfield. He then started work at the Nashua Telegraph Publishing Co. in 1949 as a typographer apprentice under the G.I. Bill. While working at Hills Bros. he met his future wife, Margaret Mary Mahoney, of Manchester at the time. He retired from the Telegraph in 1991 having served as chapter steward to the International Typographical Union and helped implement the industry switch from “hot” type to “cold” type at the Telegraph.
He was also a carpenter, woodworker and framer by upbringing. He general contracted the Hudson home in 1955 with family trades.
Mr. Berard enjoyed bowling leagues with co-workers and friends. He also kept large produce gardens, built furniture and clocks, enjoyed socializing, vacation travel, reading, and crossword puzzles. He also enjoyed his family, nurturing his sons' outdoor life being actively involved in Cub and Boy Scouts, and taking carloads of kids on sledding, skiing, and swimming trips. His quiet demeanor, helpful nature, integrity, and always-positive disposition will be greatly missed.
Besides his wife, survivors include: Two sons and one daughter-in-law, Kevin Donald Berard and his wife Amy, of Goffstown, and Leon Michael Berard, of Manchester; also one brother and one sister, George Berard, of Nashua, and Gladys Dumont, of Litchfield; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
