William Courounis
William Courounis, 70 of B Street, Hudson died Sunday, October 19, 2003 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.

Born November 24, 1932 in Nashua, he was the son of the late James and Lina (Bilodeau) Courounis. He was the husband of Mabel (Landry) Courounis, of Hudson.

Mr. Courounis enjoyed walking, especially on the beach. At one time, he was a director for the Hudson Babe Ruth for a number of years as well as a director for Southern New Hampshire Youth Hockey League. He was an avid fisherman and was a former member of the Lions Club. He also enjoyed outside yard work.

At one time, he lived in Englewood, Florida.

He was employed at Sanders as a toolmaker and he also served in the U.S. Army.

Besides his wife, survivors include: 5 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Bradford Courounis, of Nashua, James and Cheryl Courounis, of Pelham, Paul Courounis, of Nashua, Scott Courounis, of New Jersey, and Chris Courounis, of Hudson, with whom he lived. He also had 2 daughters, Debra McGowan, of Keene, and Kimberly Taylor, of Goffstown. Also 1 stepson, Howard Ives, of Hudson. He had one brother, Anthony Courounis, of Nashua and 3 sisters, Julie Pitarys, Dianne Jambard, and Libby Vales, all of Nashua. Several in-laws, 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins, also survive him.

Richard Louis Denis
“Devoted Family Man and Football Enthusiast”

Richard Louis Denis, 63, of Highland Street, Hudson died Tuesday October 21, 2003 at the Merrimack Hospice House after his battle with cancer. Born November 13, 1939 in Nashua, he was the son of the late Emile and Anna (Turcotte) Denis. He was the husband of Claudette C. (Lemieux) Denis, of Hudson with whom he had been married for 43 years. One brother, Rene Denis, 2 half brothers, Conrad and Lucien LaFrance and one sister, Rachel Landry, predeceased him.

He was a communicant of St. John Evangelist Church.

Mr. Denis was a Nashua native and a resident of Hudson for 35 years. His hobbies included watching football on TV, hunting as well as all outdoor sports. He was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He attended Nashua High School. He worked as a sheet metal mechanic for Tri-Jay Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 2002. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the American Legion in Manchester.

Besides his wife, survivors include two sons, one daughter-in-law Peter Denis of Hudson and Kyle R. and Tracy Denis, of Amherst. Three sisters, Rose Dussault, of Nashua Florence Denis of Nashua and Claire Stuart of Brookline, New Hampshire. A granddaughter Nicole J. Denis of Amherst, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson is in charge of arrangements.

Nadine K. (Dotts) Doucet
Nadine K. (Dotts) Doucet, 79, of Lowell Road, Hudson and formerly of Ohio and Washington, D.C. died Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at the Fairview Nursing Home.

She was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio on July 8, 1924 a daughter of the late Charles Orrie and Mildred Mary (McKnight) Dotts. She was the wife of Phillipe P. Doucet.

Mrs. Doucet has been a resident of Hudson for the past six months moving from Chambersburg, PA where she resided for over 20 years. She attended schools in New Philadelphia, OH graduating in 1942. She attended the University of New Mexico after serving in the U.S. Navy Waves during WWII being stationed mostly in Washington, D.C. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Doucet had been employed as a bookkeeper with Spun Steel Inc. in Ohio and with McArdle Printing Co. in Washington, D.C.

Besides her husband of 58 years, Mrs. Doucet is survived by: One sister, Nalta Jayne Blind of Louisville, O.H.; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Althea and Maurice Levesque of Nashua; also, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Anctil-Rochette & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday in the Actil-Rochette Funeral Home in Nashua at 10:00 a.m. There will be no visiting hours.

Normand A. Dube
Normand A. Dube, 82 of Kenyon St., Hudson died Monday, June 23 at his home.

Born November 28, 1920 in Hudson, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Bertha L, (Manier) Dube. Two brothers and a sister also predeceased him: Edward J. Dube in 1979; and Roland G. Dube in 1998; and Anita Darling in 1988. Mr. Dube was the husband of Doris J. (Trembley) Dube, of Hudson.

Mr. Dube was previously employed as a foreman for Gregg &. Son. He had also been employed at Triangle Pacific and Lockwood Manufacturing as a cabinet-maker and woodworker.

Mr. Dube was a lifelong resident of Hudson and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was a founding parishioner of St. John the Evangelist and served as an usher for many years.

Mr. Dube enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, survivors include: one son, Dennis R. Dube of Hudson; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathleen J. Dube and AnnMarie and "Gil" Kenneth Gilman, all of Hudson; one sister and brother-in-law, Julia and Romeo Gendron, of Hudson; three grandchildren, Dennis R. Dube, Keith Gilman, and Jennifer Gilman, all of Hudson; two great-grandchildren, Alysa Dube and Devin Dube, both of Hudson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. John Evangelist Church on Thursday, June 26 and burial took place in St. Francis Xavier cemetery, Nashua.

Lorraine S. (Janvrin) Dumas
Lorraine S. (Janvrin) Dumas, 65, of Highland Street, Hudson died Friday, October 24, 2003 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.

She was born in Seabrook on September 29, 1938 a daughter of Elizabeth (Phelps) Janvrin and the late George Janvrin. She was the widow of Aime Dumas who died January 12, 1991.

Mrs. Dumas enjoyed doing word searches and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Dumas is survived by: Her mother; Elizabeth Janvrin of Pelham, one daughter Amy Urbanowicz of Hudson, three grandchildren Tasha, Stanley, and Gregg Urbanowicz, four brothers and a sister-in-law; George Janvrin of Jay, Florida, Robert and Sandra Janvrin of North Conway, Wilson Janvrin of Dracut, Massachusetts and Gary Janvrin of Manchester, two sisters and a brother-in-law; Ginger and Bruce Sutcliffe of Hudson and Evelyn Janvrin of Pelham, also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jeanette Marie (Pelletier) (Lemire) Duval
Jeanette Marie (Pelletier) (Lemire) Duval, 83 of Charles Bancroft Highway, Litchfield, died Saturday, August 2, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua.

Mrs. Duval was born July 23, 1920 in Phillipsburg, Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Salluate and Regina (Rivard) Pelletier.

Her first husband, Rudolph Lemire, who died in 1951, as well as her second husband, Noel Duval who died in 1994, predeceased Mrs. Duval. 5 brothers also predeceased her.

She was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson. Mrs. Duval worked for many years at a local Green House and was a resident of Litchfield for over 40 years.

Mrs. Duval enjoyed gardening and cooking, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include: one son and one daughter in law, R. Paul and Catherine Lemire of Litchfield; two daughters and two sons in law, Rose and Jean Riendeau of Hudson; Claire and Edgar Donah of Litchfield; three brothers, Aldore Pelletier and John Pelletier, both of Castleton, Vermont; Clement Pelletier of Springfield, Vermont; two sisters, Rose Harvey of Castleton, Vermont; Cecile Dion of St. Augustine, Florida.; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grand children, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jeanette (Beane) Edwards
Jeanette (Beane) Edwards, 73, of Tate Street, Hudson, died Saturday, May 17, 2003 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua.

Born March 3, 1930 in Arlington Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Christine (Babine) Beane.

Mrs. Edwards was the wife of David Edwards of Hudson. She was predeceased by three brothers, Donald Beane, Edgar Beane, and Clifford Beane, Jr., also one sister, Marie Ouellette.

Mrs. Edwards enjoyed boating on Lake Winnipeasaukee, camping, and traveling to Disney World with her family. She was deeply devoted to her three grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Besides her loving husband, survivors include: one daughter and one son-n-law; Renee and Steven Jarvis of Hudson, one brother; Wayne Beane of Lee New Hampshire, four sisters; Eleanor Russell of Yupica California, Lorraine LePage of Rumford Rhode Island, Muriel Cynewski of South Hampton New Hampshire, Nance Arseneau of Amesbury Massachusetts, three grandchildren; Kyle, Noah, and Tessa Jarvis all of Hudson, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Robert William Frenette, Sr,
Robert William Frenette, Sr, 84, of Bible Hill Rd., St. Jahnsbury, VT and formerly of River Rd., Hudson, died Friday, April 25, 2003 at the Southern NH Medical Center in Nashua.

Mr. Frenette was born November 25, 1918 in Hudson, son of the late George and Laura (Roy) Frenette. He was the widow of Gertrude (Castonguay) Frenette.

Mr. Frenette resided in Hudson for many years before moving to St. Johnsbury, VT five years ago. He was previously employed at Improved Machinery in Nashua.

Mr. Frenette enjoyed gardening and golfing, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, He was predeceased by two brothers, Eugene and Harvey Frenette, and five sisters, Eva Ducharme, Violet Dumas, Rita Burns, Regina and Irene Frenette.

Survivors include two sons and a daughter in law, Robert William Frenette, Jr. of Hudson, William Robert and Susan Frenette of Amherst, three daughters, Peggy Kennicott of Waldorf, Maryland, , Jean Frenette of Merrimack, and Patricia Frenette of St. Johnsbury, VT. Three brothers and a sister in law, Leo and Helen Frenette, Henry Frenette, and Roger Frenette, all of Hudson, as well as four grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, Those wishing to make a donation in Robert's loving memory may do so to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054.

Barbara A. Fuller
Taught in Hudson for 40 years

Barbara A. Fuller, 89, of Concord, died Friday, October 3, 2003 at Havenwood-Heritage Heights in Concord.

Ms. Fuller was born April 10, 1914, in Amherst, daughter of Philip R. and Bertha A. (Hubbard) Fuller. She lived in Hudson most of her life.

She taught in the Hudson school system for 40 years in the fifth and sixth grades and in junior high until becoming a teacher at Alvirne High School in 1951 when the school opened. She retired in 1974.

In 1958, Ms. Fuller received the New Hampshire Teacher of the Year award given by the New Hampshire Federation of Women's Clubs. In 1974, she received the Hudson Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year and in 1981 the Community Citizen Award presented by the Hudson Grange.

She was involved in the American Youth Foundation (Camp Merrowvista) as camp counselor for many years and a life member of the advisory committee, the Hudson 4-H Club, the Hillsborough County Extension Service and an active member of the Hudson Fort-nightly Club and General Federated Woman's Club. After retirement, she remained active in the clubs and was an Alvirne Trustee.

Ms. Fuller was educated in Hudson and Nashua schools. She received her bachelor's degree in education from Keene Teachers College and her master's in education from Fitchburg (Mass) State College.

Survivors include a sister, Ruth G. Somes of Concord and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Havenwood-Heritage Heights.

The Bennett Funeral Home of Concord is in charge of arrangements.

A scholarship fund has been set up in her name at Citizens Bank on Lowell Road in Hudson.
