Gabrielle (Lachance) Doucet
Gabrielle (Lachance) Doucet, 90, of Hudson, died Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the Southern New Hamphsire Medical Center, in Nashua.

She was born September 22, 1916 in Nashua, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Bilodeau) Lachance.

Mrs. Doucet was predeceased by her husband Edward Doucet in 1969. She was also predeceased by two daughters Jeanne Doucet in 1989 and Lorraine Guay in 1997. Two brothers and a sister; Henry Lachance and Leopold Lachance and Irene Lachance also predeceased her.

Gabrielle was previously employed by Fashion Neckwear and Scottie Shoe, both of Hudson, as well as by the Hunt Community Home in Nashua.

She was a Parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson.

Mrs. Doucet enjoyed knitting, reading, and cooking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grand children and great grandchildren. She also greatly appreciated Home Health and Hospice and Meals on Wheels for all their kindness and assistance over the years.

Survivors include a loving daughter Therese Drouin of Nashua, a son-in-law Smith Guay of Nashua, a sister Jeanette D’Onofrio of Clinton, Massachusetts, a sister-in-law Betty Lachance of Hudson; eight grandchildren, Michael Servant of Nashua, Theresa Dutton of Washington, New Hampshire, Jeannine Gabriel of Nashua, Rick Guay of Merrimack, Bobby Guay of Nashua, Shawn Guay of Florida, Kevin Drouin of Nashua and Tammie Drouin of Nashua; as well as 13 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on February 26 in St. John the Evangelist Church Hudson; burial was in St. Patrick cemetery in Hudson. In lieu of flowers the family requested donations be made in Gabrielle’s loving memory to Meals On Wheels c/o St. Joseph Community Services, Inc., P. O. Box 910 Merrimack, NH 03054. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson was in charge of arrangements.

Louis P. Lockwood
Louis P. Lockwood, 74, of Hudson and formerly of Nashua, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital.

Mr. Lockwood was born in Nashua on February 1, 1933, a son of the late Amos and Jeannette (Jacques) Lockwood. He was the husband of Lucille (Levesque) Lockwood of Hudson.

Mr. Lockwood was the former owner and operator of L & L Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.

Services will be private. The Anctil - Rochette and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Helene Elizabeth (Scott) Andrews
Helene Elizabeth (Scott) Andrews, 76, of Nashua, died February 14, 2007 after a short illness.

She was born in Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts on March 31, 1930. Mrs. Andrews later moved with her husband to Norwood, Massachusetts, where together they raised five children. In 2003 she moved to New Hampshire to live with her daughters.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, taking care of her cats, attending and watching sporting events, and enjoying her grandchildren. She was an avid Red Sox fan. Mrs. Andrews enjoyed her trips, especially her trip to California and her 75th birthday cruise to Jamaica.

Mrs. Andrews was predeceased in 2000 by Ed, her spouse of 49 years.

Survivors include her son, Edward Jr. and his wife Deleta of Attleboro, Massachusetts, daughter Elizabeth of Nashua, son Richard and his wife Becki of Lake Tahoe, California, son Chris and his wife Shalia of Vancouver, Washinton, and daughter Jeanne and her husband David of Litchfield; 15 grandchildren, Jolene, Jonathan, and Jamie Andrews of Attleboro, Chris, Marissa, and Kyle Andrews of Nashua, Alexa and Bob Andrews of Lake Tahoe, Bethany, Kayla, Melody, and Daniel Andrews of Vancouver, and David, Matthew and Shawn Henriquez of Litchfield. In addition to her family and friends from Norwood, Martha’s Vineyard, and New Hampshire Helene leaves behind several new friends from the Greenbriar Nursing Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, February 17 at St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson; burial was at the Highland cemetery in Norwood, Massachusetts. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to: Jimmy Fund, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02115.

Arrangements were in the care of Davis Funeral Home in Nashua.

Margaret (Copan) Guerra
Margaret (Copan) Guerra, 96, of Dover, and lifelong resident of Stamford, Connecticut, died Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Dover Rehabilitation and Living Center in Dover.

She was born January 17, 1911 in Stamford, daughter of the late Steven and Anna (Kotches) Copan.

Mrs. Guerra was predeceased by her husband, Salvatore Guerra, who died in 1988. She was also predeceased by a son, Thomas E. Guerra as well as two brothers and a sister.

She was employed by the Superior Court System of Stamford for many years.

Mrs. Guerra is survived by her loving son and daughter –in-law, Richard J. and Clara Guerra of Hudson; five grandchildren, Steven Guerra of California, Katherine Gagliardi of Florida, James Guerra of Vermont, Joseph Guerra of Manchester, and Ann Guerra of Surry; also seven great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, February 14 in St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial was held Thursday, February 15 in St. Michael’s cemetery in Stratford, Connecticut. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home in Hudson was in charge of arrangements.

Helen M (Dmitruk) (Petrowsky) Ramsay
Helen (Dmitruk) (Petrowsky) Ramsay, 89, of Hudson, died unexpectedly Sunday evening, February 4, 2007, at Gate City Rehab in Nashua.

Mrs. Ramsay was born May 9, 1917 in Brighton, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Rose and Alex Dmitruk. Upon the death of her natural father, she was adopted by her loving father, Alexander Petrowsky. She lived much of her life in Waltham, Massachusetts, and later moved to Lexington, Massachusetts, where she lived for some time before moving to Hudson, where she resided with her daughter, Harriette “Samantha” Sevigny for the last eight years.

She was the widow of Harold Wesley Ramsay, with whom she was happily married for 36 years until his death in 1974.

Founded by her lifelong friends Jewel and Nate Hubley, Mrs. Ramsay worked as a supervisor and co-owner of Alden T. Cleveland Manufacturing Company. She was a supervisor for Raytheon in Waltham from 1956 to 1962; was a food development technician for Natick Labs from1967 to 1970 and was a technical assistant to the Executive Chef for Corn Products Food Technology Institute from 1964 to 1972. Mrs. Ramsay retired at age of 79 from Hewlett Packard Company, where she worked from 1973 to 1996.

Educated in Massachusetts, Mrs. Ramsay graduated from Waltham High School, class of 1936, and then studied cooking and nutrition with Mrs. Susan R. Hunter, Head of Home Economics at Waltham School Systems, and graduated from Burdett Business College. She was a longtime member of Grace Chapel in Lexington.

Mrs. Ramsay loved gourmet cooking, was an avid gardener, and did every manner of needlepoint, knitting and crocheting. But most of all she loved her family.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Chester and Joseph Petrowsky; a sister, Sophie Pratt, and a granddaughter, Gay Pruitt.

Members of her family include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert A. and Cynthia Ramsay, William R. and Dinah Ramsay and Harold W. Ramsay, Jr.; two beloved daughters, Helen F. Fonteneau and Harriette R. "Samantha" Sevigny; 15 grandchildren, Bryan, Timothy, Ross, Jon, David, William, Harry, Joseph and Kaitlyn Ramsay, Rachel Martin, Maria Antonelli, Joy Reed, Kimberly Estes, Penny Patterson and Karen O’Brian; 28 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Marie Petrowsky of Lexington; her niece, Joan Petrowsky and nephew, Stephen Petrowsky of Germany; and nephew John Pratt, Jr. of Marshfield, Massachusetts.

The Farwell Funeral Service of Nashua was in charge of arrangements.

Mark Gilcreast, Sr.
Mark Gilcreast, Sr., 55, of Litchfield, died Thursday evening February 1, 2007 in Litchfield from injuries sustained from an automobile accident.

Born in Nashua September 11, 1951, he was the son of the late Mervyn and May (Chaplin) Gilcreast.

Mr. Gilcreast was the owner/operator of NewMark Machine Co. in Litchfield, which he started in 2001. He spent time at his winter home in Lakeland, Florida. He enjoyed panning for gold and semiprecious stone and was a gold coin collector. He also enjoyed spending time in his vegetable garden.

Survivors include his wife Linda (Moulton) Gilcreast of Litchfield, three sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark Gilcreast, Jr., Michael Gilcreast, and Matthew and Amy Gilcreast, all of Litchfield.; a brother, Mervyn (Butch) and a sister Kathleen; two half brothers and a half sister; six grandchildren Jordan, Corey, Jacob, Alexis, Matthew, Jr., and Alexys Ann all of Litchfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Mark’s memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. The Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, Hudson, was in charge of arrangements.

Judith (Dean) Culbert
Judith (Dean) Culbert, 56 years old, a resident of Pelham for the past 22 years, died Monday morning at her home after a long battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Patrick ‘Paddy’ Culbert, with whom she celebrated their 37th anniversary in May of 2006.

She was born in Lowell, on February 9, 1950, a daughter of the late Henry ‘Chick’ Dean and Eleanor (Hadley) Dean.

Mrs. Culbert had been employed as a Nursing Assistant for many years. She was an avid reader as well as a gourmet cook. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary at the American Legion, Post, #100, Pelham.

Surviving her besides her husband are a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Mark Spychalski, of Lynnfield, Massachusetts; a son, Francis P. Culbert, II, of Pelham; a grandson, Patrick Spychalski, of Lynnfield, Massachusetts; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah (Dean) and Leo Chartier, of Pelham, Cathy (Dean) and Jason Grant, of Pepperell, Massachusetts; Cheryl (Dean) and Robert Martin, of Lowell, Massachusetts; a brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Diane (Laferriere) Dean, Jr., of Dracut, Massachusetts; her mother-in-law, Florette Culbert, of Lowell; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dawn and Chris Castner, of China, Maine; John and Linda Culbert, of Lowell, Tim Culbert, and Charlotte Urbanek, of Winthrop, Maine; Joseph Culbert, of Lowell; James Culbert, and Lisa Shmit, of Manchester; an aunt and uncle, Barbara (Dean) and Doug Willett, of Dracut; also many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was the grandmother of the late Ella and Mark II Spychalski, aunt of the late Stephen Joseph Culbert, and daughter-in-law of the late Francis P. Culbert.

Services were held in Lowell on Friday January 26 at St. Rita Church. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Lawrence, MA 01843. The Mahoney Funeral Home in Lowell was in charge of arrangements.

William H. ‘Red’ Gibson
William H. “Red” Gibson, 77, a resident of Pelham, died January 22 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. He was the husband of Geraldine M. (Brandy) Gibson of Pelham; they would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in April.

He was born in Stoughton, Massachusetts, April 11, 1929, the son of the late William and the late Annie (Gibson) Gibson. Before retiring he was the owner of Pelham Plumbing and a member of the Local 131 Plumbers Union.

He was very active in the Town of Pelham government, serving as the Superintendent of the cemetery Department.

He was a member of the “Friday Morning Club” at McDonalds in Pelham.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter Kathleen Blanchette and her husband Ronald of Pelham; a grandson, Kevin Fitzpatrick of Pelham, three brothers, Frederick Gibson of Canton, Massachusetts, Robert Gibson and his wife Ardelle of Oregon, and Richard Gibson and his wife Linda of West Bridgewater, Massachusetts; and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service was held on January 26 at the First Congregational Church in Pelham. Burial followed in Gibson cemetery. Those wishing may make a contribution to the Nursing Education Fund, Catholic Medical Center, 100 McGregor Street, Manchester, NH 03102. Arrangements were by Pelham Funeral Home.

Michael R. Lacharite
Michael R. Lacharite, 64, of Pelham, died January 20 at Lowell General Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of Ann Marie (Goterch) Lacharite, who survives him.

He was a Sales Representative for R & M Clark Associates of Hopkinton.

Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, August 8, 1942, the son of the late Roland J. and the late Barbara (Bruoton) Lacharite, he was a graduate of Woodbury High School in Salem, New Hampshire, and then attended Lowell Technological Institute (now the University of Massachusetts - Lowell).

During the Vietnam War, he served in the U. S. Navy. Following his completion of Submarine School in New London Connecticut, and Nuclear Power School in Bainbridge, Maryland, he was assigned to the U. S. Submarine Service.

Mr. Lacharite was a very active member of the St. Patrick Parish community. He was a past CCD and RCI teacher and most recently was a lector at the church. He had a long time association with St. Basil Salvatorian Center particularly in their fund raising activities. He was also one of the original parties responsible to introduce The Curcillo Movement to the Pelham community. He was also Past Grand Knight of the Pelham Knights of Columbus.

He was a baseball and football coach in the Pelham Little League and the Pelham Pop Warner.

An avid sports enthusiast, he was, until recently, a member and avid golfer at Manchester Country Club. Most recently, he was associated with the Pepperell Siding Model Railroad Club.

He was also a member and strong supporter of the Pelham Good Neighbor Fund.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law Erin M. and Richard Gibson of Merrimack, and Danielle Lacharite of Los Angeles, California; a son and daughter-in-law Michael K. and Karen Lacharite of Derry; two grandchildren Ethan and Zachary Gibson of Merrimack; a brother John N. "Nick" Lacharite and his wife Alice of Salem; and two nieces, Kerri Lynn Lacharite of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Amy Lacharite of Salem.

A Funeral Mass was held on January 24 at St. Patrick Church in Pelham. Committal services will be private. Those wishing may make contributions in his memory to The Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02115 or The Pelham Good Neighbor Fund, PO Box 953, Pelham, NH 03076. Arrangements were by the Pelham Funeral Home.
