Roland E. Carlstrand, 76, of Concord and formerly of Belmont, Mass., died Thursday at Pleasant View Elder Care.
He was born in Boston, the Son of Folke and Signe (Lindgren) Carlstrand. He attended Belmont schools, graduating from Belmont High School in 1940.
He was a graduate of Northeastern University and Franklin Technical Institute.
He was formerly employed by Security Steel Co. of Tewksbury, Mass., where he was a vice-president and general manager. Since moving to Concord, he was employed at the B.A. Roy Steel Manufacturers of Manchester as a structural steel estimator and engineer.
He was a former member of Faith Lutheran Church of Cambridge, Mass.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 21 of Concord.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara (Rockwell) Carlstrand; two sisters, Lillian Cane of Waltham, Mass., and Eleanor Stanley of Bedford, Mass.; a step-son, Robert Tweddle of Bay Village, Ohio; two step-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Berglund-Williams, O'Brien Funeral Home, 292 Massachusetts Ave., Arlington, Mass. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with burial at the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody, Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association, P.O. Box 1797, Concord 03302.

Richard R. Dupuis, BELMONT

BELMONT - Richard R. Dupuis, 74, of Pleasant Valley Estates, died Tuesday at the Lakes Region General Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Pittsfield, the son of Joseph and Dorilla (LaPlante) Dupuis, and lived in Laconia for many years. He moved to Belmont more than 30 years ago.
He was employed for many years by the Laconia Needle Shop. He served in the Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Alice (Taylor) Dupuis of Belmont; a daughter, Alberta LaFleur of Dunbarton; a brother, Norman Dupuis of Laconia; a sister, Ora Dupuis of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held today at 11 a.m. in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Pittsfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Charles J. Bologna, WARNER

WARNER - Charles J. Bologna, 82, died Tuesday at the V.A. Hospital in Manchester.
He was born in Everett, Mass., the son of Anthonio and Domenica (Lodovico) Bologna. He moved to Warner in 1939.
He was a World War II Army veteran. He was also a member of the New Hampshire Fish and Game Club, a life member of the American Legion Post 39 in Warner and a member of the Kearsarge Lodge No. 23 Odd Fellows in Contoocook.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marion (Hazen) Bologna.
He is survived by three sons, Anthony Bologna of Warner, William Page of Londonderry, and Richard Page of Warner; one daughter, Charlene Bologna of Warner; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Polly Myaska of Everett, Mass., and Doris Deangelos of Malden, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery Annex, Warner. The Rev. Diane Durgin of the United Church of Warner will officiate.
Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

William O. Holt, LYNDEBOROUGH

LYNDEBOROUGH - William O. Holt, 73, of Center Road, died Tuesday at the Crestwood Health Care Center in Milford after a long illness.
He was born in Lyndeborough, the son of Oliver and Mary (Meshicovsky) Holt. He was a 1943 graduate of Wilton High School and had lived in Lyndeborough all his life.
He was co-owner and operator with his brother, Benjamin, of the Holt Brothers Orchards of Lyndeborough. He and his brother also acquired two other farms and operated both dairy and fruit farms for many years.
He had served on the Lyndeborough planning board and budget committee for many years. He had also been the treasurer of the Lyndeborough Mutual Fire Insurance Association for many years.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed weekends at the family camp.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Carma (Miller) Holt of Lyndeborough; three sons, Mark Holt of Wilton, Daniel Holt of Lyndeborough and David Holt of Portsmouth; two daughters, Virginia Holt of Scarborough, Maine and Susan Pierce of Concord; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Benjamin Holt of Wilton; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home, 32 Maple St., Wilton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Second Congregational Church, Gregg Street, Wilton.

Rev. Ralph L. Hirtle, PENACOOK

PENACOOK - The Rev. Ralph L. Hirtle, 83, of Washington Street, died Tuesday at Concord Hospital.
He was born in South Weymouth, Mass., the son of Clyde and Eva (Rand) Hirtle.
As a young minister, he preached in his home church as a senior in high school as well as during his college years. In 1942 he earned his doctorate of theology at Boston University School of Theology.
From 1945 to 1948 her served as a missionary teacher in the Republic of Panama at Institute Pan-Americano and as a pastor of the Pedro Mignel Unio Church in the Canal Zone.
He served the Congregational Church in Farmington; Natick, Mass.; Providence, R.I.; Berea and North Royalton, Ohio; Bound Brook and Woodbridge, N.J.; Chicago; Eastford and Westford Hill, Conn.; and Portland, Maine.
In 1980 he retired to Concord, serving vacant pulpits on Sundays and as interim pastor on a monthly to yearly basis. During this period, he served 60 churches in several denominations. He also was president of the Concord Interfaith Council.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janice (Bird) Hirtle of Penacook; four sons, David Hirtle of Middleborough, Mass., R. Bryan Hirtle of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mark Hirtle of Portland, Maine, and William Hirtle of Birmingham, Ala.; a daughter, Beth-Ann Ellsworth of Loudon; nine grandchildren; and a half-sister, Florence Lewis of Foxboro, Mass.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., Concord.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Community Church, 7 Grover St., Concord. The Rev. Norman Christophersen, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Concord, at the convenience of the family.
Harold Allen Wheeler, SPRINGFIELD

SPRINGFIELD - Harold Allen Wheeler, 63, of Bowman Road, died Tuesday at home.
He was born in New London, the son of Harold and Pearl (Stone) Wheeler. He had lived in Springfield for the past 30 years, moving there from New London.
He had been employed as a toolmaker for Sturm Ruger in Newport for 29 years before his retirement in 1998. He also served in the Navy from 1958 to 1959.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Betty (Smith) Wheeler of Springfield; two sons, Edward Wheeler of Woodstock, Ga., and Mason Wheeler of Springfield; three daughters, Holly Wheeler of Springfield, Donna Newton of Saratoga, Wyo., and Wendy Keyser of Springfield; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Guy Wheeler of Springfield, and Kneiland Wheeler of Croydon; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no calling hours.
Private graveside services will be held in Pleasant View Cemetery in Springfield.

Doris F. Mann, HILLSBORO

HILLSBORO - Doris F. Mann, 87, died Tuesday at her son's home.
She was born in Fitchburg, Mass., the daughter of Albert and Grace (Tichnor) Fish. She lived in Hopkinton after her retirement and later moved to Hillsboro.
She was a registered nurse and worked for 30 years at the Fay School in Southboro, Mass. She retired in 1973.
She attended Deering Community Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Mann.
She is survived by two sons, W.M. Bruce Mann of Hillsboro and Douglas Mann of Deer Island, Maine; one daughter, Judith Donnelon of Damariscotta, Maine; and five grandchildren.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Joseph J. Veno, EPSOM

EPSOM - Joseph J. Veno, 68, of North Road and formerly of Brockton, Mass., died yesterday at Concord Hospital.
He was born in Boston, the son of Michael and Thelma (Atkins) Antonelli.
He was a tool maker for Instron Corp.
He was a member of the Northeastern University hockey team. He was a former member of St. Colmens Church in Brockton, Mass., and the Knights of Columbus in Massachusetts. He was an avid bowler.
He was predeceased by a brother, John Veno.
He is survived by a son, Joseph Veno Jr. of Germany; three daughters, Michelle Rollins of Marshfield, Mass., Mary Ellen Belley and Georgiann Perry, both of Epsom; and nine grandchildren.
Calling hours will be tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place after the services in McClary Cemetery, Epsom.
