Carl G. Armstrong, WOLFEBORO

WOLFEBORO - Carl Gale Armstrong, 89, of Armstrong Road, died yesterday at the Sunrise Nursing Home in Wolfeboro.
He was born in Manchester, the son of William and Jessie (Harvey) Armstrong. He grew up in Grafton and moved to Wolfeboro as a young man.
During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army.
He worked as a parts manager for the former Hornes Garage in Wolfeboro for many years and was a member of the Kingswood Golf Club.
He was predeceased by a brother, James Armstrong and a sister, Hazel Cole.
He is survived by his wife, Violet (Bell) Armstrong of Wolfeboro; a brother, David Armstrong of Vero Beach, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Lakeview Cemetery, Wolfeboro. The Rev. Randolph Dales will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kingswood Golf Club.
The Baker-Gagne Funeral Homes and Cremation Service of Wolfeboro and West Ossipee are in charge of the arrangements.
Jason R. Blais, MEREDITH

MEREDITH - Jason R. Blais, 59, of Quarry Road, died Sunday in Lahey Clinic Medical Center, Burlington, Mass., after a short illness.
He was born in Laconia, the son of J. Lionel and Irene (Leavitt) Blais. He lived in New Ipswich, Greenville and Merrimack for some time. He had lived in Meredith since 1972.
He graduated from Tilton Academy and attended Northeastern University. In 1985, he earned a master's degree in business administration from Plymouth State College.
He served in the U.S. Air Force as an airman second class. His tour of duty included Taipei, Taiwan.
He worked as a civil engineer and established Associated Engineering Services, located in Meredith, more than 30 years ago. He also established Auto-Brit Engineering, a British car refinishing company in Meredith.
He was past chairman of the Meredith Planning Board, past president of the Meredith Youth Basketball League and a member of the National Rifle Association.
He attended St. Charles Roman Catholic Church in Meredith and Sacred Heart Church in Laconia with his mother.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Jason Blais of Gilford; two daughters, Maria Blais-Svagzdys of Belmont and Lisa Blais of Quincy, Mass.; three grandchildren; a brother, Ronald Blais of Greer, S.C.; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours are today from 7 to 9 p.m. in A.W. Simoneau & Son Memorial Home, 139 Church St., Laconia.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 291 Union Ave., Laconia. The Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia.

Joan E. Earnshaw, SARASOTA, Fla.

SARASOTA, Fla. - Joan E. Earnshaw, 66, former area resident and relative of area residents, died Saturday after a long illness.
She was born in Concord, the daughter of Robert and Agnes (King) Curdie.
She was a former assistant vice president of Chubb LifeAmerica, where she worked for 32 years.
From 1986 to 1987, she was the first woman president of the Northeast Chapter of the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association Inc.
She was also very active in the United Way.
She is survived by a son, William Earnshaw of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three daughters, Sue Earnshaw of Penacook, Nancy Sherrer of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Sharon Vantine of Colchester, Vt.; several grandchildren; a brother, Robert Curdie of Bristol; her companion of more than 20 years, Roland Chretien; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be held today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church. Burial will take place after the Mass in Blossom Hill Cemetery.

George H. Houle, ALLENSTOWN

ALLENSTOWN - George H. Houle, 91, a longtime resident of Allenstown, died Monday at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton after a short illness.
He was born in Allenstown, the son of Frank and Cassie (Benoit) Houle, and he lived there until the early 1990s.
He was a World War II Army veteran, having served in Normandy and the Rhineland.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by Rumford Press in Concord.
He was a member of the John J. Maguire American Legion Post No. 28, the Suncook Valley VFW Post No. 2860 and DAV Queen City Chapter 18.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rita Maistine; two daughters, Roseanne Cloutier and Vernance Charpentier Bordeleau; three brothers, Joseph Houle, John Houle and James Houle; and five sisters, Lydia Grenier, Lillian Hamel, Alice Benoit, Josephine Daneault and Sylvia Houle.
He is survived by two daughters, Denise Houle and Jeannette Murray, both of Manchester; a son, Henry Houle of Manchester; and a grandson, Jeremy Houle.
Calling hours are today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Petit Funeral Home, 167 Main St., Pembroke.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, with the Rev. Aime Boisselle officiating. Burial will take place after the service in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Allenstown.
Billings Burlingame

Billings G. Burlingame, 88, of Pleasant Street died Monday at Concord Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Worcester, N.Y., the son of Menzo and Elizabeth (Gage) Burlingame. He was a graduate of Hartwick University in Oneonta, N.Y.
He was a professor at the State University of New York at Cobleskill, N.Y., and he retired from the State Department of Education, Albany, N.Y., where he resided for several years.
He was a member of the Albany, N.Y., Oneonta, N.Y., and Concord Rotary Clubs for 60 years, and he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a longtime member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Oneonta, N.Y., where he sang in the choir.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marion Louise (Brush) Burlingame.
He is survived by a son, Roger Burlingame of Gilmanton Iron Works; two daughters, Celia Klare of Dewitt, N.Y., and Shirley McAllister of Delmar, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Konstanty of Worcester, N.Y., and Eleanor Griffin of Tuscon, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held tomorrow from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., Concord.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Bookhout Funeral Home in Oneonta, N.Y. Burial will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery.

Jean A. (Stone) Worden, 85, of Pleasant Street, died Monday at Pleasant View Center, Genesis Eldercare in Concord.
She was born in Syracuse, N.Y., the daughter of Frederick and Jennie (Weller) Archambo.
She was a proofreader for Yankee Typesetters for several years.
She enjoyed gardening and weaving fabrics for drapes and clothes.
She was predeceased by her first husband, John Stone.
She is survived by her second husband, W. Allen Worden of Barnstead; one daughter, Helen Stone Alcala of Framingham, Mass.; one stepson, Albert Worden of North Grafton, Mass.; one stepdaughter, Marilyn Dansereau of Barnstead; one granddaughter; two step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and three step-great-grandchildren.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 No. Main St., Concord. Burial will take place after the service in Blossom Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, flowers may be given to a person of one's choice who is in need of cheering.
Donald R. Kehr, MANCHESTER

MANCHESTER - Donald R. Kehr, 66, died Monday at Elliot Hospital in Manchester following a brief illness.
He was the son of Julius and Mathilda (Trefzer) Kehr.
He graduated from Flushing High School in Flushing, N.Y., and moved to Manchester in 1965.
Until his retirement, he was a manager at Disogrin Industries, where he worked for more than 40 yeas.
He was a lifelong Missouri Synod Lutheran and active in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester, having served as a deacon and an elder of the congregation. He was also active in the meat ministry of the Assembly of God Church in Manchester and a contributor to numerous charities and organizations.
He was a staff sergeant in the Army Intelligence Service during the Korean War, based primarily in Japan. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, served on the board of managers of the New Hampshire Society, and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.
He was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Marion Kehr.
He is survived by two children, Thomas Kehr and Kristen Kehr Biron; four grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held on Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church at the corner of Huse and Weston roads in Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Marion Kehr Founders' Fund of Immanuel Christian School, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Huse and Weston Road, Manchester, 03103.

Nicholas Neary

Nicholas Neary, 80, of Royal Gardens, died Saturday at his home after a sudden illness.
He was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, the son of George and Mary Neary.
He had worked at New Hampshire Hospital for 32 years.
He was a longtime member of the Eagles Club of Concord.
There are no known survivors.
There are no calling hours or services. Burial will be at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord at a later date.
The Waters Funeral Home of Concord is in charge of arrangements.
