Sandra A. Orman

Sandra A. Orman, 62, of Jackson Street, died at Concord Hospital on Monday.
She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of James and Isabella (Annyas) Brown. Formerly of Iowa, she had been a resident of Concord for the past 20 years.
For the past 12 years, she worked for the State of New Hampshire Department of Labor as a hearings clerk.
While working at the Ramada Inn in Concord, she was very active with the Easter Seal Society, earning a trip to Hollywood, Calif., to present a check to Pat Boone during the National Telethon: Her Ramada Inn raised more money than any other in the New England area.
She was also a past member of Concord's Business and Professional Women Association and was named Woman of the Year in 1981.
While in Iowa, she organized and ran the local telethon for the United Cerebral Palsy, with appearances by personalities such as Burt Reynolds and Amanda Blake, as well as other celebrities.
She had a great love for dogs, especially her two dogs.
Survivors include four sons, Jon and James Orman, both of Concord, Patrick Orman of Northwood and Donald Orman of California; two daughters, Melanie and Melissa Orman, both of Concord; and four granddaughters.
There are no calling hours or services.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Boutwell and Hussey-Wiren Funeral Home, 190 North Main Street, Concord.

Hectorine Burns, CENTER BARNSTEAD

CENTER BARNSTEAD - Hectorine Burns, 93, of Emerson Drive, died yesterday at Concord Hospital.
She was born in Northampton, Mass., the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Dauphanais) Arel and was the step-daughter of Philomen (Gauthier) Arel.
She was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church in Alton.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, cooking and piano playing.
She was predeceased by her husband, Franklin Burns.
She is survived by a son, F. Jeffrey Burns of Silver Springs, Md.; a daughter, Dorothy Hart of Center Barnstead; four grandchildren; step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; step-great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main St., Concord.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Joan of Arc Church, Alton.
Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, Mass.

Anna M. Lockwood

Anna M. Lockwood, 87, of Pleasant Street, died on Monday at Pleasant View Center Genesis Eldercare in Concord. She was a summer resident of Lake Winnisquam and a winter resident of Delray Beach, Fla., for many years.
She was born in Lynn, Mass., the daughter of Thomas and Josephine (Nickerson) Millis.
She was vice president of Lockwood-Young for 25 years.
She was a lifelong member of the Concord Hospital Association, a volunteer for the American Red Cross, and a state adviser for the March of Dimes for five years.
She served as city chairman for the Republican Party and served on the state Republican committee for four years.
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Concord.
She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Lockwood.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Lockwood of Canterbury and William Lockwood of Hopewell, Va.; two daughters, Patti Blanchette of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Peta Chandler of Concord; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on June 11 at 11 a.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main St., Concord, with the Rev. David Jones, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord.

Evelyn M. Smith, LACONIA

LACONIA - Evelyn M. Smith, 89, of Hayes Road, Weirs Beach, died at her home yesterday after a brief illness.
Born in Canterbury, she was the daughter of Frank and Harriet (Brown) Brown. She had been a resident of Laconia for the past 52 years.
She was a graduate of Plymouth State Teachers College and was a nurse's aide at Laconia Hospital for many years.
She was predeceased by her husband, C. Frank Smith.
Survivors include her son, Leon Smith of Laconia; a sister, Clara Diver of Saugus, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
Graveside services will be held in the family lot in Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, tomorrow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Huntley Halvorson, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Gilford, officiating.
The Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant St., Laconia, is in charge of the arrangements.
Frederick C. Blair, ANTRIM

ANTRIM - Frederick C. Blair, 75, died yesterday at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough.
He was born in Boston, the son of the late James and Mary (Boyer) Blair. He lived in Salem for many years before moving to Antrim eight years ago.
He worked for Houghton Mifflin in Burlington, Mass., for many years, retiring in 1989.
He was a graduate of New Hampton Prep School, and Burdett Business College in Boston.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marjorie (Clarkson) Blair of Antrim; three sons, James Blair of Antrim, Donald Blair of Byfield, Mass., and Frederick Blair of Antrim; a daughter, Patricia Harvey of Antrim; 12 grandchildren; and two nephews.
There are no calling hours and a private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Antrim.

Alfred H. Hansen, HOLDERNESS

HOLDERNESS - Alfred H. Hansen, 61, of Route 175, died Saturday at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.
He was born in Huntington, N.Y., the son of Harold and Gudran (Jacobsen) Hansen.
He grew up in Long Island, N.Y., and graduated from Northport High School and Stonybrook College in New York.
He lived in Long Island, N.Y., for most of his life, but had lived in the Plymouth-Holderness area for more than 25 years.
He worked as a self-employed building contractor in Long Island, N.Y., for many years. While living in New Hampshire, he owned and operated a home maintenance company, and owned several apartments in the Plymouth area.
An avid Labrador Retriever lover, he developed and operated the Lab Hollow Kennels. He was well known throughout the eastern United States for his top-quality and champion breed of Black and Chocolate Labrador Retrievers.
He was an active member of the Plymouth Lions Club, and was involved with the Lions eyeglass program.
He is survived by five children, Gregory Hansen of Holderness, Harold Hansen of Kings Point, N.Y., Robert Hansen of Long Island, N.Y., Veronica Hansen of Florida and Lisa Hansen of Long Island, N.Y.; two grandchildren; a sister, Ella Ortolani of Rumney; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St., Plymouth.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Trinity Churchyard Cemetery, Holderness.
Elizabeth R. Alcott, CONTOOCOOK

CONTOOCOOK - Elizabeth R. Alcott, 63, died Saturday at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Mass.
She was born in Camden, N.J., the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Wiley) Vernamonti.
She lived in Upton, Mass., before moving to Contoocook in 1970.
She worked as an administrative assistant for the vice president of the Laconia Shoe Company, Laconia, for many years. For the past eight years, she had been a secretary for the Unitarian Universalist Church in Concord.
She was a charter member of the Eagles Women's Auxiliary in Concord.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Alcott Jr. of Contoocook; a son, Joseph Alcott III of Mt. Carmel, Conn.; three daughters, Karen Alcott of Wells, Maine, Kathleen Alcott of Hopkinton and Kristine Larson of Dedham, Mass; six grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Giacobbe of Mt. Ephraim, N.J.; a brother, Charles Vernamonti of Mt. Ephraim, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial services will be held April 24 at 2 p.m. in the Unitarian Universalist Church, Concord. the Rev. Joan Kahn-Schneider will officiate.

Florence A. McKew

Florence A. McKew, 94, a former longtime resident of Troy, died Saturday at the Genesis-Pleasant View Elder Care Center.
She was born in New Haven, Conn., the daughter of William and Johanna (Hayes) Mills. She lived in Troy for more than 50 years, and was a 1923 graduate of Keene High School. She also graduated from the Dresser Business School in Keene.
She had lived in Concord for the past eight years, and has also lived in Claremont, Charlestown and Swanzey. She was a member of the Charlestown Senior Citizens Center.
She was predeceased by her husband, A. Arthur McKew; and a step-son, Marshall McKew.
She is survived by a son, A. Arthur McKew of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Kathleen Johnson of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Sharon King of Pembroke; two sisters, Isabelle McCreary of Chandler, Ariz., and Grace Liatala of Ely, Minn.; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held April 24 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court St., Keene.
A funeral service will be held after the calling hours April 24 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Route 12, Troy.
