Donald A. Ainslie, BRADFORD

BRADFORD - Donald Arthur Ainslie, 64, of Route 114, died Sunday at Hospice House in Concord.
He was born in Boston, the son of James and Clare (French) Ainslie. He was a 1952 graduate of Hyde Park, Mass., High School, and a 1957 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y.
He worked for engineering firms in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
He was a member and past master of St. Peter's Lodge No. 31 F&AM, a member of the Valley of Concord and the New Hampshire Consistory. He was a Scottish Rite, a 32nd degree mason and a member of the Bektash Temple Shrine, Concord.
He was a partner with Robert Stewart at the Stewart Agency for approximately six years, and the Lake Sunapee Board of Realtors chose him as Realtor of the Year in 1977.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Margaret (Keenan) Ainslie of Bradford; and a son, Benjamin Ainslie, who is student at Keene State College.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in Sunny Plain Cemetery, Bradford. The Rev. Henry Fleming will officiate and Masonic services will be conducted by St. Peter's Lodge.

James F. Leonard, LOUDON

LOUDON - James F. Leonard, 72, of Staniels Road, died Monday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, White River Junction, Vt., after a long illness.
He was born in New Jersey, the son of George and Francis (Stadler) Leonard. He had lived in the Loudon-Concord area since 1955.
He worked for Grappone Ford Inc. for many years, and during the 1950s, he was the owner and operator of O.K. Services in Concord.
He was recently employed at Wal-Mart in Concord.
He served with the Merchant Marines during World War II.
He was a member of the Concord Elks Club.
He was a cat fancier, who enjoyed breeding and showing Siamese cats.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Laura "Babe" (Foss) Leonard of Loudon; two sons, James Leonard of Loudon and Richard Leonard Sr. of Ocala, Fla.; four daughters, Karen McMican of Orlando, Fla., Louise Tolworthy of Pawling, N.Y., Cindy Cobb of Valdosta, Ga., and Donna Leonard-Babin of Warren; a stepson, Bill Philpot of Venice, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, George Leonard of New Jersey, and William Leonard of Oregon; three sisters, Edna Leonard, Jeannette Salback of Orlando, Fla., and Virginia Foley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held by the Elks Club tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in the Boutwell & Hussey-Wiren Funeral Home, 190 N. Main St., Concord. Calling hours will be held prior to the services from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Doris R. Wigg, BOSCAWEN

BOSCAWEN - Doris R. Wigg, 91, died yesterday at the Merrimack County Nursing Home, after a long illness.
She was born in North Branford, Conn., the daughter of John and Viola (Lesure) Jackson.
She had been a Bristol resident since 1982, coming from Caanan and Plainfield.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Wigg.
She is survived by a daughter, Corine Day of Bristol; three granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Grafton.
The Emmons Funeral Home in Bristol is in charge of arrangements.
Josephine Cumings, LEBANON, Maine

LEBANON, Maine - Josephine A. Cumings, 81, the relative of area residents, died Sunday in Concord, while visiting her son.
She was born in Cambridge, Mass., the daughter of Herbert and Josephine (McCullough) Parkinson.
She went to nursing school and became a registered nurse in 1936.
She and her late husband, Waldo Cumings, were married in 1937, and in their late 20s and early 30s, they took in three foster children.
When she and her husband were in their 60s, they invented a wood burning furnace, and started their own business.
A breast cancer and mastectomy survivor, Cumings visited with and supported women with breast cancer, who were contemplating surgery.
She is survived by four sons, Waldo Cumings of Penacook, Francis Cumings of Windham, Ronald Cumings of Montery, Calif., and Richard Cumings of Richardson, Texas; a daughter, Kathleen Stone of Lebanon, Maine; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Loadwick of Somerville, Mass., and Marjorie Strampe of Omaha, Neb.; and two brothers, Leroy Bourne of Tewksbury, Mass., and Leslie Bourne of Somerville, Maine.
Services have already been held.
The Heald Funeral Home, Springvale, Maine, was in charge of arrangements.
Robert Yule , CANDIA

CANDIA - Robert Yule, 57, of North Road, died Saturday of a sudden illness.
He was born in Manhattan, N.Y., the son of James and Helen Yule.
He was the president of Energy North in Concord.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Marilyn Yule; a daughter, Bonnie Yule; and a brother, John Yule.
He was a deacon of the Congregational Church in Candia.
He and his wife maintained a shepherding home for children in transition for the past 14 years.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Congregational Church, Candia.

Louis W. Baker, WATERVILLE VALLEY

WATERVILLE VALLEY - Louis W. Baker, 74, of West Branch Turnpike, died Saturday at home.
He was born and raised in Indianola, Iowa. As a National Merit Scholar, he graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor of science degree in 1946.
He served in the Army Signal Corps during World War II.
He joined the international division of Eastman Kodak in 1950. Nineteen of his 30 years with Kodak were spent in Mexico, Panama, the Philippines and Brazil.
He was an avid skier, who retired to Waterville Valley in 1980.
He was a founding member of the Silver Streaks Ski Club, and was head streak for 10 years. He had also served on the Waterville Valley Planning Board and as town moderator.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy (English) Baker of Waterville Valley; a son, Edward Baker of Merida, Mexico; two daughters, Christine Baker-Ruz of Mexico City and Betsy Baker of Boston; and one granddaughter.
A spring graveside service will be held in Waterville Valley Cemetery.

Stuart Markham Sr.

Stuart B. Markham Sr., 28, of Concord Gardens, died yesterday at home of a sudden illness.
He was born in Springfield, Mass., the son of Chauncy Sr. and Sandra (Generous) Markham.
He worked as a cook for Friendly's Restaurant in Concord.
In addition to his parents of South Berwick, Maine, he is survived by his wife, Corissa (Roy) Markham of Concord; a son, Stuart Markham Jr. of Concord; two daughters, Kayla Markham and Jade Markham, both of Concord; five brothers, Chauncy Markham Jr. of Berwick, Maine, Stephen Markham of Bradford, Pa., Matthew Markham of Wallingford, Conn., Arthur Markham of Berwick, Maine, and Daniel Markham of Rockford, Ill.; three sisters, Sandra Pirini of Wells, Maine, Pamela Jones of Barrington and Sheila Markham of Los Angeles; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery.

M. Rae Borror, DURHAM

DURHAM - M. Rae Borror, 63, relative of area residents, died Nov. 19 at home after a long illness.
She was born in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Richard and Countess Irene (Noe) Roney.
She received a bachelor's degree in nursing from the Ohio State University, and a master's degree in reading and certification in special education from the University of New Hampshire.
She worked as a reading specialist in the Oyster River Middle School for many years.
She served one term as chairperson of the Durham Planning Board, and was once active with the League of Women Voters.
She was a member of the choir at the Community Church of Durham and was an active member of the Sounds of the Seacoast, a women's barbershop chorus.
She shared with her husband a lifelong interest in the field of natural history, and enjoyed trekking off to obscure places with him, searching for birds and other wildlife.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Borror; a daughter, Valerie Madsen of Lee; a son, Donald Borror of Dunbarton; and five grandchildren.
Services were held already.
