Leona I. Stewart, WILMOT

WILMOT - Leona I. Stewart, 74, of North Wilmot Road, died yesterday at New London Hospital.
The daughter of Howard and Lula (Jenness) Atwood, she was a native, and lifelong, resident of Wilmot.
She graduated from Franklin High School, and had been a telephone operator at Kearsarge Telephone Company, New London, for 32 years.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Wilmot.
She was a former member of the Grange, and a member of the Nimble Thimble Club and the Wilmot Historical Society.
She enjoyed knitting and sewing.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert Stewart Jr. of Wilmot; a son, Victor Stewart of Sutton; two daughters, Linda Morehouse of Deering and Lonna Green of North Wilmot; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Chellis of Plymouth; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Spring graveside services will be held in Bunker Hill Cemetery, Wilmot.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wilmot F.A.S.T. Squad, P.O. Box 59, Wilmot 03287.

Abbie Sullivan

Abbie Sullivan, 99, of Pleasant Street, died yesterday at the Genesis Eldercare Nursing Home.
She was born in County Kerry, Ireland, daughter of Daniel and Nora (Healey) Sullivan.
She lived in New York for most of her life, moving to Concord four years ago.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Michael Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan and Daniel Sullivan; and three sisters, Margaret Hunt Duffy, Mary Sullivan and Nora Markey.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Maureen Tully of Bow.
Calling hours will be held tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., Concord.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 135 N. State St., Concord. The Rev. Mitchell Wanat, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Spring burial will be in Evans Cemetery, Bow.
Belva Clapp

Belva Carll Clapp, 91, died Tuesday at the Havenwood Heritage Heights Nursing Home in Concord after a long illness.
She had moved to Havenwood from Pittsburgh, Pa., about eight years ago to be near her older sister, Crete Tracy, who survives her as a resident of Pleasant View Nursing Home.
She was born in Waterboro, Maine, the youngest daughter of Jason Carll and Annie Libby.
She graduated from Bates College in 1928, and began a career in teaching. In 1933, she left teaching and entered an accounting and bookkeeping school in Boston. After graduation, she spent 22 years working as a cashier for a Boston insurance agency.
In 1936, she married Kenneth Clapp, and they lived in Boston until 1955, when Kenneth Clapp joined Gulf Oil in Pittsburgh, Pa., as manager of the Gulf Tour Guide Bureau. She then became a full-time housewife, with avid interests in gardening, bridge, and arts and crafts.
The Clapps traveled extensively in North America and Mexico.
They had no children.
She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth.
She is survived by Crete Tracy's children, Gloria Cassaboon and Carll Tracy, both of Laconia.
It was her request that there be no flowers, no memorial service and an immediate cremation.

Joan E. Nelson

Joan E. Nelson, 67, of Concord Gardens, died Friday at Concord Hospital.
She was born in Charlestown, Mass., the daughter of William and Daisy Mae (Ferguson) Irving.
She grew up in Dover, where she attended local schools, and was a graduate of Dover High School.
She had worked as a bookkeeper for many years.
She was predeceased by her brother, Jack "Buzz" Irving.
She is survived by three sons, Joe Nelson of Merrimack, Mass., Rick Nelson of Georgia and Rod Nelson of Methuen, Mass.; two daughters, Bonnie Wilkins of Nottingham and Judy Harriman of Georgia; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, James and William Irving, both of New Hampshire; a sister, "Kitty" Pollard of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
Spring graveside services will be held in the Old North Cemetery, Nottingham.

Laurence D. Kalloch, WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Laurence D. Kalloch, former Concord resident and relative of area residents, died recently after a long illness.
He was born in Nashua, the son of Maurice and Eleanor (McAlister) Kalloch. He attended Concord schools and graduated from Concord High School in 1958.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a construction truck driver before retiring because of failing health.
He was predeceased by his father.
In addition to his mother, Eleanor Kalloch of Concord, he is survived by a son, Adam Kalloch of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a brother, Ronald of South Portland, Maine; two sisters, Sandra Thompson of Estero, Fla., and Wellfleet, Mass., and Maureen James of Westminster, Colo.; and several cousins.

Vaike S. Ulmanis

Vaike S. Ulmanis, 75, died Monday at Genesis Pleasant View Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born in Tallinn, Estonia, the daughter of Theodore and Pauline Soans. After becoming a U.S. citizen, she lived in Laconia for 40 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Elmars Ulmanis.
She is survived by a son, Peter Ulmanis of Concord; two grandchildren, Stacey Ulmanis and Karl Ulmanis, both of Concord; a brother, George Soans of Fletcherton, Ontario; and a sister, Tamara Soans of Tallinn, Estonia.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held tomorrow at 6 p.m. in the Loudon Congregational Church, 1 Church St., Loudon. The Rev. David Randlett, pastor, will officiate.

Donald P. Saucier

Donald P. Saucier, 47, of Centre Street, Concord, died Monday at the Concord Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Manchester, the son of Roland and Violette (Demers) Saucier. He spent most of his life in Pembroke, moving to Concord in 1987.
He was a 1970 graduate of Bishop Brady High School, and also attended the Ed Williams School of Broadcasting.
He was most recently employed as a salesman for Sears in Concord, and had previously worked for the Suncook Area Bank, Velcro USA and Radio Shack.
He had been a volunteer with the Pembroke Fire Department for more than 11 years.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Richardson) Saucier of Bow; a son, Eric Saucier of Bow; a daughter, Jennifer Saucier of Bow; a stepdaughter, Tammy Lavoie of Pembroke; a stepson, Dave Lavoie of Allenstown; three grandchildren; a brother, Rene Saucier of Concord; a sister, Marian Lavoie of Concord; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Petit Funeral Home, 167 Main St., Pembroke.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church. The Rev. C. Peter Dumont, pastor, will be the celebrant. Spring burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Allenstown.

Walter Brown, BOW

BOW - Walter Brown, 86, died Monday at Pleasant View Center Eldercare, Concord.
He was born in Manchester, the son of Winfield and Grace (Ritchie) Brown.
He was an industrial engineer for Malden Mills in Lowell, Mass., for several years.
He was a former member of and president of the Bow Bog Meetinghouse Association.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Marion (Young) Brown.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa (Melanson) Brown of Bow; four sons, Walter Brown of Merrimack, Douglas Brown of Culver City, Calif., Dennis Hastings of Minnesota, and Kimball Brown of Merced, Calif.; a daughter, Judith Johnson of Concord; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Winfield Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours.
The funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord. Pastor Bud Woodward will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
