Clyde Kelley
LITCHFIELD -- Clyde Kelley, 91, of Litchfield died Friday, July 30, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Litchfield Christian Church. The Rev. Steve Hicks will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery north of Pleasanton.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the church. Rasmussen Mortuary in Ravenna is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Kelley was born
on June 29, 1908, near Kelso, Kan., to Mahlon and Loretta (Ward) Kelley. He graduated from Omaha Central High School in 1927 and worked on a farm near Litchfield.
He married Ella Cherry on Nov. 5, 1932, in Kearney. The couple lived on a farm near Sartoria and later moved to another farm nearby. They farmed until the early 1990s, when they moved to Litchfield.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Allen Kelley of Litchfield; two daughters, Lyla Johnson of Custer, S.D., and Anita Ottun of Sargent; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John.
'Eva' Vogt
ORD -- Mary Evelyn "Eva" Vogt, 93, of Ord died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Ord United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Miller officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Highland Park Cemetery in Ravenna.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Ord Memorial Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Vogt was born
on Nov. 13, 1905, at Mason City to Samuel and Anna (Holm) Johnson. She lived in Mason City until she was 12 years old. She then moved to Ravenna, where she lived with her grandmother, because her mother had died. She graduated from Ravenna High School in 1924.
She married William Vogt in 1928. She had worked at the West Hotel and the Henningson Egg Plant, both in Ravenna. Mr. Vogt died in 1959. Mrs. Vogt then owned and operated a floral shop in Ravenna from 1961 to 1969. She moved to Ord in 1971 and worked at Sevenkers Flower Shop.
She was a member of the Ord United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Ravenna Cheerful County Club and had been a member of the Jolly Neighbors Extension Club, the Golden Horizons Club and the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include one daughter, Gwen (Mrs. Ernest) May of Ord; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Mervin Vogt.
Ruth Merz
OMAHA -- Ruth Merz, 82, of Omaha, formerly of Aurora, died Friday, July 30, 1999, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Services are pending with Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
Katarino Salinas
Katarino Salinas, 65, of Grand Island died Monday, July 26, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. Tom Ryan will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. parish rosary, Friday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mr. Salinas was born
on Feb. 13, 1934, at Grand Island to Jesus and Maria (Garcia) Salinas. He grew up in Grand Island and attended Grand Island public schools. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1953. He excelled in football and track in high school.
Following high school, he entered the U.S. Army. He returned to Grand Island following his military service and worked as a plasterer/carpenter for Olson Lathe and Plaster. He also had worked part time for Aguilar Printing since 1992.
He served as a player/coach of the Third City Latins fast-pitch softball, basketball and bowling teams.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Mary's Parish and the Grand Island Latin Club.
His hobbies included horseshoes, golf and horse racing. He was also an avid Big Red fan.
Survivors include two brothers, Phillip and Jesse Salinas, both of Grand Island; five sisters, Louise Moreno and Carlotta Aguilar, both of Grand Island, Josephine Acosta of Phoenix, Jenny Flores of Denver and Sophia Galvan of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Pedro Salinas; and two sisters, Julia Salinas and Doris Quiñones.
Ruby Shupp
Ruby L. Shupp, 93, of Grand Island died Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at St. Francis Skilled Care Unit.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. The Very Rev. Richard Martindale will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kleine Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the church.
Mrs. Shupp was born
on Jan. 18, 1906, at Callaway to Frank and Rachel (Dickson) Lyons. She grew up and was educated in Callaway.
She married William Theodore "Ted" Shupp on April 21, 1925, at Broken Bow. The couple moved to Grand Island in January 1927. She worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant and the sugar factory. She wrapped meat at Skagway for seven years and later at Willman's Grocery. She worked at Rockwell Bowling Alley.
Mr. Shupp died on Feb. 5, 1978.
Mrs. Shupp was an avid bowler.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and the Platt-Duetsche Society.
Survivors include one daughter, Doris M. (Mrs. Rudy) Pokorney of Grand Island; two granddaughters; and two great-grandsons.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson; three brothers, Percey, Clay and Bill; and two sisters, Pearl Withrow and her twin sister, Ruth Smith.
Floyd Zikmund
Floyd Duane Zikmund, 72, of Grand Island died Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church. The Revs. Richard Bacon and Volney Lofgreen will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in the Nelson Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to service time Saturday at the church. Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Zikmund was born
on Sept. 4, 1926, at Edgar to Joseph and Georgia Alma (Cook) Zikmund. He attended Nelson schools and graduated from Nelson High School.
He served in the Merchant Marine from 1945 to 1947 and received his officer's training at Gallups Island.
He married Mercedes Henriksen on Nov. 20, 1944. Mr. Zikmund loved farming. He had worked for the Nebraska Department of Agriculture, managed Twin Rivers in Grand Island and was a USDA meat inspector for 29 years, based at the research center near Clay Center. He retired in March 1999 because of his health.
He was a member of the First Christian Church and Eagles, both in Grand Island. He was a member of the Nelson Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Timothy of Lincoln; and two grandchildren.
Hazel Krzycki
ST. PAUL - Hazel M. Krzycki, 92, of St. Paul died Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at the Heritage Living Center in St. Paul.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Rev. James Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. parish rosary, Friday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Mrs. Krzycki was born
on April 9, 1907, near Cushing to Hans and Jeanie (Hansen) Sonderup. She grew up in the Cushing area and attended rural schools there.
She married Roman Krzycki on April 15, 1940, at St. Anthony¹s Church in Farwell. The couple lived in the St. Paul and Ashton areas, where they farmed for many years. Upon their retirement in December 1964, they moved into St. Paul.
She enjoyed embroidery and crocheting.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and its altar society.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Robert Krzycki of St. Paul and Edward Krzycki of Ashton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren;
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Eva Vogt
ORD - Eva Vogt, 93, of Ord died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at the Valley County Nursing Home in Ord.

Doris Whitney
LINCOLN - Doris Rosalie Whitney, 80, of Lincoln died June 29, 1999, at Lincoln.
Memorial graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fullerton Cemetery.
Palmer Funeral Home of Fullerton is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Whitney was born
on March 22, 1919, at Fullerton to Wilbur and Alice (Helms) Kellogg. She graduated from Fullerton High School in 1936. She taught in Nance County schools for several years.
Survivors include three sons, Nick of Des Moines, Iowa, John of Reno, N.Y., and Ron of Bloomfield, Mich.; four daughters, Rosalie Whitney of Beaverton, Ore., Alice Brown and Lauren Whitney, both of Lincoln, and Linda Blow of Moscow, Russia; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three sisters, Bethel (Mrs. Don) Cunningham of Fullerton, Joyce (Mrs. Lee) Glynn of Palmer and Janice (Mrs. Charles) Gleason of Pickstown, S.D.
She was preceded in death by one son, Harold; and two brothers, Raymond and Ronald Kellogg.
