Quinten Clausen
AURORA -- Quinten C. Clausen, 50, of Aurora and formerly of Kearney died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Island.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at O'Brien-Straatmann-Apfel Funeral Home in Kearney. The Rev. Ron Roemmich will officiate. Burial will be in the Kearney Cemetery with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 759 and the National Guard Unit of Kearney.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Disabled Veterans Association.
Mr. Clausen was born
on June 18, 1949, at Hazard to Thurman and Doris (Gray) Clausen. He attended schools in Mullen, Broken Bow and Kearney and graduated from Ravenna High School. He attended Kearney State College.
He married Diana Whitney on Sept. 29, 1968, in Kearney. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972. Mr. Clausen served in Vietnam in 1970 with the 25th Infantry and received a Bronze Star. After his discharge, he worked for the West Co. in Kearney for 10 years. For the past 17 years, he worked in sales in the Grand Island area.
Mr. Clausen was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kearney and the American Legion. Pastimes included golf, billiards, Husker football and traveling.
Survivors include two sons, Quinten Jr. of Kearney and Whitney Wayde of Omaha; a daughter, Delaney of Kearney; his parents, of Kearney; three sisters, Marcella Luhn of Grand Island, Elvena Forke of Beatrice and Patsy Clausen of Ravenna; and his former wife, Diana Clausen of Kearney.
Oleta Hansen
GRAPEVINE, Texas -- Oleta L. Hansen, 82, of Grapevine, Texas, formerly of Ord, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, at Grapevine.
Mrs. Hansen was cremated.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ord Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Marek Middendorf will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Mrs. Hansen was born
on June 3, 1917, in Ord to Reinhold N. and Laura (Miller) Rose. She attended Ord Public School and was self-employed much of her life. She started the first telephone answering service and private employment service in Grand Island.
Survivors include a daughter, Karlynn Castellano of Grand Island; two sons, Alvin Hansen of Grapevine, Texas, and Dwight Hansen of Richardson, Texas; several grandchildren; two brothers, Russell Rose of Ord and Boyd Rose of Riverside, Calif.; and a sister, Loreen Barnes of Greeley.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ron and Milo Rose.
Donald Marsh
COMSTOCK -- Donald E. Marsh, 61, of Comstock died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Jennie M. Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Rhoad Funeral Chapel in Sargent. The Rev. Marty Robbins will officiate. Burial will be in Douglas Grove Cemetery at Comstock.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Comstock Fire Department.
Mr. Marsh was born
on Jan. 15, 1939, at Ord to Orvil H. and Virginia May (Shepperd) Marsh. He attended the Longwood and Douglas Grove country schools. He graduated from Comstock High School in 1957 and then farmed northwest of Comstock.
He married Janice Dittmar on March 11, 1962, at Taylor. They continued to live on the farm until 1986, when they moved to Sargent. Mrs. Marsh died in June 1997, and Mr. Marsh moved to Comstock to live with his mother. He had lived at Heritage Hall in Broken Bow for the past week.
Survivors include his mother, of Comstock; and one brother, John Marsh of Sun Lakes, Ariz.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father.
Ivan Schroeder
ALBION -- Ivan G. Schroeder, 82, of Albion died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion. The Rev. William Jacobson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion.
Memorials will be designated by the family.
Mr. Schroeder was born
on Sept. 6, 1917, at Albion to George and Josephine (Krohn) Schroeder. He received his elementary education at Boone County District 25 School and graduated from Albion High School in 1935.
He married Louise Norskov on Feb. 22, 1937, in Omaha. The couple lived and farmed southwest of Albion until 1996.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, where he served on the church council and the building committee that remodeled the church in the early 1950s. He also served on the District 25 school board and the Boone County Agriculture Society board.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Catherine (Mrs. Roger) Hare of Columbus; one son, Leroy of Albion; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Dr. Charles Danielson
LINCOLN -- Dr. Charles D. Danielson, 78, of Lincoln died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000.
Private burial services will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island. Memorial services will be at a later date.
Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dr. Danielson was born
at Hopkins, Minn., to Victor and Octavia Danielson. He was a general surgeon for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Grand Island.
Survivors include four daughters, Patricia Phillips of Frisco, Calif., and Charlynn Danielson, Karen Wempe and Pam Fulcher of Lincoln; four grandchildren; one brother, Robert Danielson of LaMesa, Calif.; and one sister, Dorothy Smith of Burnesville, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy.
Donna Elliott
TILDEN -- Donna J. Elliott, 64, of Tilden died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk.
Services are pending.

Lois Vollstedt
SEWARD -- Lois M. Vollstedt, 77, of Seward died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Garland. The Rev. Rich Harre will officiate. Burial will be at the church. Wood-Zabka Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the funeral home, and one hour before service time Saturday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Vollstedt was born
Jan. 24, 1923.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Garland, and was previously a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Goehner and Ladies Aid. She was past president of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 178 and 8/40, and a volunteer at the Veteran's Hospital in Lincoln.
Survivors include two daughters, Lodeen (Mrs. Dennis) Koranda of Seward and Cheryl (Mrs. Daniel) Gray of Grand Island; a son, Arlen of Garland; a sister, Lola (Mrs. Raymond) Schildt of Seward; a brother, Dale Niewedde of Cerritos, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Vollstedt; a daughter, Bonnie Jean Vollstedt; a grandson, Jeffery Vollstedt; an infant granddaughter; and a brother, Dean Niewedde.
Clarann Biggs
STOCKTON, Calif. -- Clarann J. (Harb) Biggs, 58, of Stockton, Calif., formerly of Cairo, died of cancer Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at her home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Central Methodist Church in Stockton.
William Bosworth
William H. Bosworth, 97, of Grand Island died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Park Place Health Care and Rehab Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. George Wheat will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation or the Diabetes Association.
Mr. Bosworth was born
on Oct. 2, 1902, in Central City to William Thomas and Pearl Jane (Hammock) Bosworth. He moved with his parents to Oregon and was educated in Lakeview, Ore., schools. The family moved to Burwell in 1918 and farmed in that area.
He married Fannie De Mary on April 28, 1923, at O'Neill. They moved to Grand Island in 1926. He worked for many years for the Grand Island Livestock Co. and later for the Grand Island Wholesale Co. He later worked for the Grand Island Engineering Department and retired in 1965.
Mr. Bosworth enjoyed gardening, farming and fishing.
Survivors include three nieces, including caretakers, Roberta Daniels of Arvada, Colo., Glenrose Lemburg of Grand Island and Mary Pearl Howard of Eugene, Ore.; two nephews, Dr. Harold Hunker of Cañon City, Colo., and Carl Hunker of Independence, Mo.; and one brother, Harold Bosworth of Kansas City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his wife; three sisters, including Mary Snavley; and one brother.
Dorothy Davis
Dorothy H. Davis, 78, of Grand Island died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Third City Christian Church with Pastor Scott Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kleine Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Ava Fulmer
Ava O. Fulmer, 93, of Grand Island died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Apfel-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard M. Bacon will officiate. Burial will be in the Wood River Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church.
Miss Fulmer was born
on July 23, 1906, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Wilson H. and Emma J. (Allen) Fulmer. She grew up in Valley County, Ohio, and was educated at Jackson School.
She moved to Grand Island in 1937. She worked at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant until 1945, when she went to work for Safeway Stores. She went to work for Montgomery Ward Stores in 1953 as a sales clerk in Grand Island. She also worked for Dreisbach's and retired from Crick's Grocery in 1978.
She was a member of the First Christian Church and Church Circle 1. She served as treasurer of the Residents Council at Lakeview Rehab/Nursing Center.
Survivors include a nephew, Jim Krull of Grand Island; and other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jim, Ray and Harvey Fulmer; and two sisters, Zeola Krull and Gertrude Christsen.
