Mary Jane Williams Elder
92, Lincoln, died Tuesday (8-10-10). Born (10-2-17) in Lincoln, Nebraska to George Fredrick and Anna Idella (Gaughan) Williams. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1935, and also a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. She spent her life on stage and in musicals with one Broadway show, several off-Broadway shows, two soap opera’s and over sixty commercials. She was also with a touring company and was involved in TV and radio. When she returned from New York City to Lincoln in 1986, she became involved in the Lincoln Ensemble Theatre for several years. She was very active with the National Federation of the Blind and was awarded the outstanding senior citizen award in 1994 for her work with promoting the hiring of visually impaired interviewers at The Gallup Organization. She was also an active member at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.

Service: Memorials services will be held at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 2325 South 24th St.(02) at 2:00 p.m. Friday (8-13-10). Rev. Fr. Craig Gavin, officiating.
