Visitation: 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street.

Service: Memorial Service:10:00 a.m., Wednesday (08-11-10) Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 6001 A Street, Lincoln. The Rev. Samuel Boman officiating.

Mary Jane Williams Elder

92, Lincoln, died Tuesday (8-10-10). Born (10-2-17) in Lincoln, Nebraska to George Fredrick and Anna Idella (Gaughan) Williams. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1935, and also a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. She spent her life on stage and in musicals with one Broadway show, several off-Broadway shows, two soap opera’s and over sixty commercials. She was also with a touring company and was involved in TV and radio. When she returned from New York City to Lincoln in 1986, she became involved in the Lincoln Ensemble Theatre for several years. She was very active with the National Federation of the Blind and was awarded the outstanding senior citizen award in 1994 for her work with promoting the hiring of visually impaired interviewers at The Gallup Organization. She was also an active member at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.

Visitation: No Visitation/Cremation.

Service: Memorials services will be held at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 2325 South 24th St.(02) at 2:00 p.m. Friday (8-13-10). Rev. Fr. Craig Gavin, officiating.

Cemetery: Inurnment at St. Matthew’s Columbarium.

Memorials: Memorials contributions may be given to the church or the National Federal of the Blind, 200 East Wells Street at Jernigan Place, Baltimore, MD 21230.

She is preceded in death by parents, and husband James Barker Elder who passed away in 2004.

Albert Dewey Hatfield, Jr.

81, Crete, formerly of Lincoln, left this world surrounded by his family and friends on Wednesday (8-11-10). Born (5-11-29) in Wamego, Kansas to Albert D., Sr. and Pearl (Randall) Hatfield. Retired after 35 + years, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Auto Pool.

Linda Mae Nelson

65, Lincoln, died Wednesday (8-11-10). Born (12-21-44) in Arapahoe, Nebraska to Gordon R. and Verna Mae (Beyl) Pittenger. Formerly employed at NBC, Wells Fargo and Westgate banks. Attended Southwood Lutheran Church. Loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and friends. Avid Nebraska Football fan. Enjoyed her dogs, gardening and jazzercise.

Member: American Legion Post #3. Loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchild. Enjoyed bowling, reading, cats and baseball. Participated in Senior Olympic games. Cemented many great friendships over the years. Took great pride in her Czech heritage, especially enjoyed polka music.

Graduate of West Liberty State College in WV and retired dental hygienist, also served her son at Eric’s Electric and at Dillard’s in Lincoln. Member Sheridan Lutheran Church, helped teach Sudanese Sunday school members. Loved Bridge, quilting, cooking, and spending time with children and grandchildren.
