Margaret V. Packett
passed away November 7, 2005
Margaret Viola Mangnall Packett passed away on Monday, November 7, 2005 in Tecumseh, Nebraska at the age of 98 years and 9 months.
Margaret was born on February 8, 1907, the sixth child of James and Eliza Hartley Mangnall in rural Pawnee County, Nebraska. On August 26, 1926, she married
Glenn Dean Packett and to this union thirteen children were born. In addition they raised one grandson.
Margaret joined the Christian Church in Tecumseh many, many years ago and received her elementary school education in rural Pawnee County schools, graduating from the eighth grade on May 22, 1924.
Margaret worked for several years in the Hested Dime Store in Tecumseh and at the Johnson County Hospital in the dietary and laundry departments. In 1990 she received the "Caring Kind Employee Award" for being a loyal employee at the Hospital for twenty eight years. The Award cited her dedication to her job, her willingness to go the extra mile for her co-workers and patients. At that time she had worked eighteen years in the laundry department.
After she retired in 1992 she continued to help "older' people in Tecumseh with their shopping and doctors appointments until her eye sight prevented her from driving. She always raised a big garden and loved African Violets. She had been a resident of Belle Terrace in Tecumseh since March of 2004. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and always went out of her way to do for others.

Margaret is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Elaine Packett of Tecumseh; Edward and Patricia Packett of Springfield, Nebraska, Patrick and Marguerite Packett of Falls City, Nebraska and Gary Packett of Iowa; daughters and sons-in-law Maxine and Kenneth Williams of Spokane Valley, Washington; Barbara and Gerald Roach of Roca, Nebraska; Mary Morris and loving companion Pat Anderson of Downey, California, Jane Hart of Downey, California; Doris Taylor of Topeka, Kansas; and the grandson they raised Danny Paul and Trudy Packett of Filley, Nebraska. Survivors also include daughters-in-law Joan Packett of Nipomo, California, Patricia Packett of Stella, Nebraska; sister-in-law Gwendolyn Mangnall of Pawnee City, forty nine grandchildren, ninety six great grandchildren and sixty one great great grandchildren and many, many, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, four brothers and three sisters, her husband Glenn; one daughter Margaret Kay, three sons, Glenn Dean Jr, James Clyde and David Allen; six grandchildren and one great grandson.

Carole was born on December 2, 1945 in Los Angeles to John and Eve (Anderson) Gerke. Carole worked as an elementary school teacher most of her life. She and her husband, Gary enjoyed living in Germany most of their years together. Recently, Carole ran a thriving business using eBay to sell. She is well loved and will be missed greatly.
