Bennie Low
Bennie Low, 78, of Bayard, died Thursday, January 25, 2001, at Regional West Medical Center at Scottsbluff. He was the father of Ivah Martin of Harrisburg.
Funeral services were Tuesday, January 30, at the Community Bible Church in Bayard. Internment was at the Veterans Circle at the Bayard cemetery, with military rates conducted by the Bayard Honor Guard.
He was born October 12, 1922, at Wellfleet, to Walter W. and Iva (Walker) Low. He married
Betty L. Lockman December 6, 1953, at the Minatare Church of Christ. At one time, he worked for Pearly Wyatt in Banner County.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters; three sons; seven grandchildren; and two brothers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; one grandson; two sisters; one brother and two nieces.
Gladys Berkeypile
Gladys Berkeypile, 91, of Minden, Neb., died January 24, 2001, at the Bethany Home in Minden. She was the mother of Ann Warner of Kimball.
Funeral services were Monday, January 29 at the Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Minden. Burial was in the Minden cemetery.
She was born to Charles and Mary (Dillingham) McCollough November 25, 1909, in Marshall County, Ind. She married
Clayton Berkeypile on September 29, 1940. The couple lived in Bourbon, Ind., and later moved to Minden, Neb.
She is survived by two daughters; one son; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband; two granddaughters; one great grandson; three brothers and five sisters.
Byron Rowley
Byron Rowley, 83, of Lodgepole, died Thursday, January 25, 2001, in Torrington, Wyo. He was the father of Earl “Butch” Rowley of Dix.
Funeral Services were Monday, January 29, at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney, with the Rev. Lyle Schoen of the Lodgepole Untied Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant View cemetery in Lodgepole.
He was born December 3, 1917, to Joseph and Agnes (Waidley) Rowley in Wauneta, Neb. He married
Mary Edith Shepard of Belle Fourche, S.D., on August 28, 1940. In 1942 to 1945, he served in the U.S. Army in Africa, Sicily and Italy and received several medals of honor. At various times in his life, he lived in Longmont, Colo. and Belle Fourche, S.D. In 1946, he moved to Lodgepole, working for the union Pacific Railroad until retiring in 1977.
He is survived by one son; two daughters; one sister; two stepbrothers; twenty grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
Duane E. Tangeman
Duane E. Tangeman, 75, of Cheyenne, Wyo., died Friday, January 19, 2001, at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyo. He formerly lived in Kimball and ran a chiropractic practice here.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral on Thursday, February 1, at 1 p.m. A graveside ceremony will follow at Olivet cemetery.
He was born October 19, 1925, in Iowa City, Iowa to Harvey and Mabel Tangeman. He was raised in Chadron, Neb. He married
Dodie Aspinall on September 3, 1949. He worked as a chiropractor in Kimball and Chadron, Neb. He also worked at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyo.
He is survived by his wife; one son; one daughter; one brother; one sister; seven grandchildren and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a sister; and a granddaughter.
Theora "Teddy" Tuzicka
Theora M. "Teddy" Tuzicka, 73, of Kimball, died Sunday, January 21, 2001, at her home.
Funeral services were Wednesday, January 24, at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball, with the Rev. Ed Hunzeker, Prairie Haven Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial was in Kimball cemetery with graveside services conducted by the Kimball VFW Post 2243 Auxiliary.
She was born March 9, 1927, in Owosso, Mich. to Oliver and Lilly M. (Simpson) Pierce. She graduated high school in Michigan.
She married
Orvile N. Tuzicka, Sr. were married
on August 8, 1948 in Las Vegas, Nev. They moved to Kimball in 1951. They also had lived in Sterling, Colo., Sidney and Wyoming. They returned to Kimball in 1967.
She had worked as a clerk in several of the retail businesses in Kimball, including Ben Franklin, Duckwall’s and Safeway.
She was a member of the Kimball VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Orvile of Kimball; sons and daughters-in-law Dennis and Phyllis Tuzicka of Sidney, Orville Jr. and Lora Tuzicka of Kimball, Timothy and Rosie Tuzicka of Orlando, Fla., and Kevin and Kim Tuzicka of Paducah, Ky.; daughter and son-in-law Janice and Roger McCarty of Rifle, Colo.; her twin sister Evora Easlick of Elsie, Michigan; 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Aletha Pierce, one son, Charlie and two brothers.
Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Mark Charles Price
Former Kimball resident Mark Charles Price, 36, of Sterling, Colo., died Monday, January 15, 2001, in Sterling, Colo.
Funeral services were Friday, January 19, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sidney, with President James Shields officiating. Burial was at Greenwood cemetery.
He was born March 18, 1964, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Charles Allen and Dorothy J. (Kelley) Price. He served in the Army from February 1986-1990.
After his discharge, he attended Southwestern Community College in Creston, Iowa, and received his R.N. degree. He worked at Kimball County Hospital.
He married
Susan DeGuzman on July 20, 1994, in Las Vegas, Nev., and was solemnized in the Denver Temper on March 18, 1999. He was working at the Sterling Correctional Facility at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife Susan of Sterling; children Dylan, Jordan and Nolan; two brothers; and five sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Doris Eastman Fritzler
Former Kimball resident Doris Eastman Fritzler, 85, of Fort Collins, Colo., died January 19, 2001, at Poudre Valley Hospital in fort Collins.
A memorial service will be held in Fort Collins at a later date and interment of cremains will take place in Kimball.
She was born November 22, 1915, at Chappell, Neb., to Leon Roy and Emma Dudek Eastman. They moved to Kimball when she was two years old. She graduated from Kimball County High School and received her bachelor’s of arts degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
She married
Kenneth Carl Fritzler on October 22, 1939, in Lincoln, Neb. They lived in Oxford, Omaha and Kimball. In 1972, she moved to Fort Collins with her youngest daughter.
She was a legal assistant in real estate law at Harden, Schmidt and Hass until retiring in 1980.
Survivors include her son Kenneth C. Fritzler, II of Kearney, Neb.; her daughters Janet Huntley of Diamond Bar, Calif., and Beth Elliott of Fort Collins; sister Betty McClenny of Ballaire, Texas; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Morris of Fort Collins and her brother Nathan Eastman of Kimball.
Memorials can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Research Fund in care of Goes Funeral Care in Fort Collins.

Emily Michelle Onstott
Emily Michelle Onstott, 7 months old, of Gering, Neb., died Wednesday, January 17, 2000, at the Childrens’ Hospital in Denver, Colo. She was the granddaughter of Linda and Duayne Onstott of Harrisburg.
Funeral services were Monday, January 22 at the WestWay Christian Church in Scottsbluff, with Pastor Randy Kreiling officiating.
She was born June 8, 2000, in Scottsbluff, to Michael Gene and Jennifer Rose (McCarty) Onstott of Gering.
She is survived by her parents; her sister Courtney; grandparents Linda and Duayne Onstott of Harrisburg and Rosetta and Jerald Green of Henry, Neb.; her paternal great grandparents and maternal great grandmother; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two uncles; great-great grandparents on both maternal and paternal sides; and paternal and maternal great grandparents.

Hyla Baltensperger
Hyla Louise Baltensperger Kern, formerly of Bushnell, died January 16, 2001, in Colorado.
Cremation has taken place. No memorial services have been scheduled.
She was born June 19, 1913, to Frederick and Louise (Manz) Baltensperger around Nebraska City, Neb. She attended school there and then moved to Bushnell with her family. She taught school in the Bushnell area. She married
Clarence H. Kern in Colorado September 27, 1937.
She is survived by her husband of Loveland, Colo.; children Eldon Kern and Louise Kaufman; sisters Anna Andrews of Nebraska City, Neb., and Arden Baltensperger of Las Cruces, N.M.; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers.
E.M. “Margie” Nunn
E.M. “Margie” Nunn, 75, of rural Harrisburg, died Tuesday, January 11, 2001.
At her request, no services will be held. Cremation has been held and private inurnment will be at Sunset Memorial Park at Scottsbluff.
She was born in Portland, Ore., and had lived in Banner County after her marriage to Jean L. Nunn in 1976.
Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff was in charge of arrangements.
Millard Neal Frostrom
Millard Neal Frostrom (“Frosty”), 83, died January 1, 2001, in Pasadena, Calif.
A private memorial service will be held in California. A burial is to take place in the spring with a service at Kirk cemetery in Banner County.
He was born in Kimball to Alrick and Ida Frostrom on July 23, 1917. He moved to California in 1939, but spent summers on the family farm, owned by Uncles Alfred and Henry Henrickson, near Kimball.
He is survived by children Barbara Grooms, Sandra Scott and John Frostrom; former spouse Dixie Frostrom; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and Kimball cousins Evy Johnson, Norma Jefferson and Colin Moul; and many other relatives.
Donald Christensen
Former Potter resident Donald Christensen, 63, of Scottsbluff, died Friday, December 29, 2000.
Funeral services were Wednesday, January 3, at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney. Burial was at the Potter cemetery.
He was born October 10, 1937, to J.W. and Sarah Louise (Mcmillen) Christensen in Long Beach, Calif. He grew up and attended school in Potter.
On September 18, 1955, he married
Edith Dove in Potter.
He worked for the Village of Potter and then the Union Pacific Railroad until retiring due to ill health. He and his wife moved to Scottsbluff in 1995.
He is survived by his wife Edith; son and daughter-in-law Gevan and Candy Christensen of Potter; daughters Celinda Luebke of Potter and Gina Boyce and her husband Ron of aurora, Colo.; sister Heather Lipska and her husband Jerry of Potter; brother Jerry Christensen and his wife LaVonne of Potter; nine grandchildren; and one niece and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
