Olivia Clair Roth
Olivia Clair Roth, brave and precious infant daughter of Matthew Adam Baker Roth and Jessica Clair (Dernovich) Roth, was born February 13, 2007 in Kearney. She left this world on Sunday, April 1, 2007 held in the loving arms of her family at her home in McCook.
Preceding her in death were great-grandparents: Al Roth, James Fornengo, Frances Dernovich, and W.R. “Bill” Coady.
Left to miss her are her parents, Matthew and Jessica Roth of McCook; one sister, Emmerie; one brother, Landyn; maternal grandparents; Don and Kathy Dernovich of Culbertson; paternal grandparents, Mike and Roxie Roth, Sid and Susan Doak all of McCook; great-grandparents, Frank Dernovich, Barbara Fornengo, Dorothy Roth and Rhoby Coady; aunts and uncles, Mike and Tracey Roth, Michelle Armstrong, Heath Dernovich, Kaitlyn and Ray Starks, six cousins and a host of family and friends.
A private service for the family and close friends was held on Thursday, April 5, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dana Keener officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery.

Margaret E. (Decker) (Skinner) Roedel
Margaret E. (Decker) Roedel, 96 died, Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Sterling, Colorado.
She was born June 29, 1910 in Giltner, Nebraska to Isaac Newton and Nellie (Whitacre) Skinner. She grew up in Hamilton County, and graduated from Phillips High School in 1928. She was a graduate of Kearney State Teachers College.
In 1934 she married
James Ennis Decker and moved to Wauneta. In 1945 they moved to McCook. James died in 1952. In 1963 she married
Enoch Roedel. He died in 1991. In 2005 she moved to Sterling, CO to be closer to family.
Margaret taught second grade at West Ward for 21 years. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, and a past member of American Association of University Women and Retired Teachers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, ten brothers, two sisters and a step-son.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Turley and husband, John of Littleton, Colo., Peg Bell and husband, Lowell of Sterling, Colo; one son, James Decker and wife, JoAnn of Benkelman; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; She is also survived by step children Dean Roedel and wife, Joanne of Greeley, Colo, Lois Lepper of McCook, Mary VanderMolen of Aurora, Colo, Carol Ruland and husband, Bob of Greeley, Colo; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Services were Saturday, March 24, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Randy Wahl officiating. Burial was at Memorial Park cemetery.
Memorials may be given in her name to Peace Lutheran Church and KNGN Radio.

Mary Juanita (Higgins) Roberts
Mary Juanita Roberts, age 94, of McCook, formally of Phoenix, passed into her heavenly home on November 18, 2007.
She was born in Great Falls, MT on September 12, 1913 to Samuel M. and Donna (Patrick) Higgins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband D. G. “Bob” Roberts.
She is survived by her three sons, Samuel M. Roberts, Jerry W. Roberts and wife, Deah, Gregg E. Roberts and wife, Donna all of McCook, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Memorials were to be given in her name.
Memorial services took place at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home on Monday, November 26th with Pastor Gregg Roberts officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Mary Sharlaine (Stevens) Robarchek
Mary Sharlaine Robarchek, died March 18, 2007 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was 85.
She was born May 6, 1921 to Martin W. and Eleanor (Ackerman) Stevens in Ralston, Nebraska.
Graveside services were Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at Memorial Park cemetery with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating.

Ryan Christopher Ridlen
Ryan Christopher Ridlen, age 17, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 from injuries sustained from an auto accident in Hayes County.
Ryan was born in Aurora, Colo. on March 28, 1990 to Steven Dale and Alicia Ann (Burdick) Ridlen. He was attending Hayes Center High School where he was a member of the Senior Class.
Ryan loved fishing with his family and sisters; he was a Duke Basketball fan and was artistically gifted. He helped his father with the plumbing business and remodeling of their home.
Preceding him in death was an infant brother, Garrett.
Survivors include his parents, Steven and Alicia Ridlen of Palisade; three sisters, Lindsay, Shannon and Kelsey Ridlen of Palisade; maternal grandparents, Bernice “Luther” and Cecilia Burdick of Aurora, CO; paternal grandparents, Robert and Deanna Ridlen also of Aurora; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; girlfriend, Samantha Dueland; special friend, Maranda Harouff, and many other friends.
Memorials were to be given in his name.
Funeral services were Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the new Hayes Center High School Gymnasium with Pastor Fay Ann Blaylock officiating.

Lloyd Ivan Redmer
Lloyd Ivan Redmer, of McCook, died Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Community Hospital. He was 82 years old.
Lloyd was born on December 6, 1924, in Trenton to Herman Otto and Rosa Henrietta Augusta (Steinke) Redmer. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1942.
On June 2, 1943, he entered the US Army and served in New Guinea and Southern Philippines during World War II. He received the World War II Victory Ribbon, Honorable Service Lapel Button, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with one Bronze Arrow Head, two Bronze Stars, Philippine Defense Ribbon and Army of Occupation Medal. He was honorably discharged on February 2, 1946. Lloyd returned to the Trenton community after his service time and worked in the local bank.
Lloyd was united in marriage to Lena Marvin Matz on April 25, 1957 in Wolf Point, Montana. They made their home in Colorado where Lloyd was employed by Frontier Airlines as a desk clerk. They eventually moved to Billings, MT and became owners and operators of a motel. Lloyd retired in 1988, after the death of his wife Lena, and moved to Williamsburg, NM. He recently moved to McCook to be closer to family and was living at Willow Ridge at the time of his death.
Lloyd was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars and volunteered countless hours at the Moose Lodge while living at Truth or Consequences, NM.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Rosa Redmer; his wife, Lena; one sister, Florence Barth; and five brothers, Otto, Emil, Henry, Louie and Lester Redmer.
Survivors include one niece, Rosalie Madsen-Redden and husband, Robert, of McCook; and three nephews, Lynn Redmer and wife, Judy, of Garden Plain, KS, Bob Redmer and wife, Barb, of Kansas City, MO and Gary Barth and wife, Donna, of Culbertson.
Memorials may be given in his name.
A graveside memorial service was held at Fort McPherson National cemetery in Maxwell on Friday, April 6, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplain Norval Holtmeier officiating. A full honorary committal was held.

Jesse Neil Fitz Randolph
Jesse Neil Fitz Randolph, died Friday, August 03, 2007 as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was 21.
He was born July 21, 1986 to Larry L. and Nancy R. (Blume) Randolph in McCook. He graduated from Southwest High School in 2005, where he lettered in football, basketball, track and field, golf, choir and FBLA. Jesse went on to Mid-Plains Community College and graduated with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice in 2007. He was enrolled and planned on continuing his education at Fort Hays State University in Kansas and hoped to become a State Patrol Officer.
Jesse loved people and made many good friends from the elderly to small children. He was an avid hunter and sports fan and couldn’t start his day without ESPN. He was working for Schaffert Manufacturing in Indianola. Jesse was also learning the carpentry and roofing trade from Mark Uerling and his sons Brian and Andrew.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Harold Blume and Ivan Randolph both of Indianola.
He is survived by his parents, Larry and Nancy Randolph of Indianola; brother, Zachary Randolph and girlfriend, Kori Collins of Omaha; sister, Erin Randolph of Indianola; paternal grandmother, Goldie Randolph of McCook; maternal grandmother, Violet Blume of Indianola; and girlfriend, Lindsay Vontz of Indianola and many other family and friends

Donald James Poore
Donald James Poore died Monday, June 25, 2007 at Community Hospital in McCook. He was born Nov. 4, 1928 in McCook to William Forrest and Mildred (Modrell) Poore. He was a lifelong resident of McCook.
On Sept. 30, 1950 he married
Mary Verlene Swanson in McCook and to this union 3 children were born. He served in the U.S Army from 1950-1952. Don worked at Gierhart Shoes and Clothing, the East Sale Barn and the Burlington Northern Railroad, from 1954 until his retirement in 1991. He was a 60-year member of the Memorial United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters; Bonnie Jean Poore and Margorie Bradshaw and a brother, William F. Poore, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of McCook; two sons, Michael and wife, Kathleen of Omaha and Thomas and wife, LaDonna of McCook; one daughter, Kathy and husband Charles Myers of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren, Ethan, Joshua and Mariah Poore, Christina and Michelle Myers, and Wesley and Ellie Poore: three brothers, Wayne and wife, Edna Poore, Dale and wife Peggy Poore and Rex and wife Jeannette Poore, all of McCook; and one sister, Mary Anne and husband Ronald Tardiff of Alamogordo, NM.
Don and Mary also have 6 more special children who have added much joy to their family: Xuan and Lynn Dang, and Trieu, Nhi, Sa and Vi Hoang and their spouses and 9 children.
Memorials may be given in his name to the Bit and Spur 4-H Club.
Funeral services were Thursday at the Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Burial took place in Memorial Park cemetery.

Clayton L. Pierson
Clayton L. Pierson of McCook, died Sunday May 20, 2007 in Hitchcock County due to a car accident. He was 18 years old.
He was born in Hahn Germany to Robert A. and Kimberly R. (Wurm) Pierson on April 16, 1989. He was a 2007 graduate of McCook High School. He was also in the U.S. Army Reserve.
He loved wrestling and was a soccer coach for the Youth league.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in McCook.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents.
Survivors include: his mother, Kim Pinkerton and husband, Jeff of McCook; his father Robert Pierson and wife, Suzanne of Culbertson; his brother, Chase and two sisters, Whitney Pierson of McCook and Kinsley Hurst of Colorado Spring, Colorado; grandparents, George and Rhonda Wurm of McCook, Judy Aeby of Benkelman and Bob and Jan Logan of McCook; great-grandmother, Bessie Hendrix of Benkelman; aunts and uncles, Kelli and Scott Carlson, Jody and Clint Rupe, Jared and Danni Logan, Barry and Jennifer Hendrix, and Stephanie and D.J. Barnhardt.
