Steven Schlueter
The memorial service for Steven E. Schlueter, 48, of West Point will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point.
He died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point.
He was born Oct. 8, 1956, in York to Clarence and Shirley Hodges Schlueter. At age 6, he entered the Martin Luther Home and School in Beatrice, where he remained until age 22. He then moved to Norfolk where he was a client of Northstar Services. While living there, he did contract work for Northstar.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point. He had been active with Special Olympics, receiving many medals as well as a first-place dancing trophy and a second-place bowling trophy.
Survivors include: his parents, Clarence and Shirley Schlueter of West Point; and a brother, Keith (and wife, Sandra) of Tulsa, Okla.
He was preceded in death by a sister and his grandparents.
The Rev. Robert Hedtke will officiate Wednesdays service. Those wishing to sign the register book may do so until 8:30 p.m. today at Stokely Funeral Home or online at www.stokelyfuneralhome.com. Burial of the cremains will occur at a later date.
Memorials have been established to St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point and Northstar Services in Norfolk.

Virgil Sila
Virgil Sila, 81, of West Point died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at West Point Living Center.
Arrangements are pending at Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in West Point.

Wilfred Doernemann
The funeral for Wilfred Doernemann, 81, of Clarkson will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Marys Catholic Church in Leigh.
He died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at Bryan LGH East Medical Center in Lincoln.
He was born Sept. 20, 1923, on the family farm north of Dodge. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Olean. He married Mary Ann Burenheide on June 20, 1950, at St. Henrys Catholic Church north of Howells. The couple lived on a farm northwest of Clarkson for most of their married live. He was engaged in farming and enjoyed driving truck. He liked to garden and work in the shop.
He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Leigh and Catholic Foresters.
Survivors include: his wife; four sons, David (and wife, Bobbi) Doernemann of Howells, Daniel (and wife, Nancy) Doernemann, James (and wife, Shelly) Doernemann, and Jarrett (and wife, Kathy) Doernemann, all of Clarkson; a daughter, Annette (Mrs. Jerry) Baumert of Clarkson; two sisters, Oringa (Mrs. Abe) Wisnieski and Ornitha (Mrs. Alex) Meiergerd, both of Dodge; a brother, Don (and wife, Vyiolette) Doernemann of Dodge; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant grandson, a sister and two brothers.
The Rev. Mel Wiese will officiate Mondays service. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, all at the church. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial will be in St. Marys Catholic cemetery in Leigh.
Miller Funeral Home in Clarkson is in charge of arrangements.

Annetta Daharsh
The funeral for Annetta J. Daharsh, 68, of Wahoo, formerly of Fremont, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo.
She died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
She was born in Prague on Sept. 15, 1936, to Frank and Agnes (Ficenec) Havelka. She attended St. Wenceslaus Elementary School in Wahoo. She married LeRoy "John" Daharsh on March 12, 1959, in Wahoo. She worked as a production laborer at the former Blue Star Foods Inc. in Wahoo. She later worked as a nurses aide at the former Haven House in Wahoo for many years. She was also a housewife. Her spouse preceded her in death on July 22, 1990. She moved to Fremont after her husbands death and moved back to Wahoo in 2002.
Survivors include: two sons, Steve (and wife, Roseanne) Daharsh of Wahoo and Scott Daharsh of Lincoln; three daughters, Susan Nicholls, Cathy (Mrs. Doug) Watts, all of Wahoo, and Liz Kasischke and fiance', Gorden Morhain, of Omaha; a brother, Frank Havelka of Wahoo; three sisters, Gertrude Nekuda, Mildred (Mrs. Albert) Vlasak, all of Wahoo, and Margaret McGarragh of LaCrescenta, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 4-6 p.m. Visitation continues Monday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunrise North cemetery in Wahoo.
Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo is in charge of arrangements.

Antoinette Cernohlavek
Antoinette "Toni" Cernohlavek, 90, of rural Prague died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at David Place in David City.
Arrangements are pending at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo.

Virginia Baratta
Virginia L. Baratta, 83, of Fremont died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
She was born Oct. 22, 1921, in Fremont. She was raised in Fremont. She resided in Omaha in the late 1950s. She married Frank Baratta in Jan. 1972, in Las Vegas. She was a waitress and a homemaker. She returned to Fremont in 1977.
She was a member of Community of Christ Church.
Survivors include: a son, Delbert (and wife, Mary) Hively of Fremont; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a daughter.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Rozanek Funeral Home in Fremont with the Revs. James Cunningham and Connie Montgomery, both of Community of Christ Church. Family will receive condolences from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. There will be no viewing. Graveside services will be in Ridge cemetery following the memorial service.
A memorial has been established to Community of Christ Church.

Sister Marie Widhelm
Sister Marie Widhelm, Order of Saint Francis, 84, of Davenport, Iowa, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Davenport.
She was born April 24, 1920, in Howells to John J. and Catherine (Wegener) Widhelm. She attended St. Peter & Paul School at Howells and then entered the School of the Sisters of St. Francis in Milwaukee in August 1934, and made her perpetual vows on Aug. 12, 1945. She began her teaching career in 1942 and taught at St. Bernardine in Forest Park, Ill., until 1961, taught at St. Ludger at Creighton for one year at St. Peter & Paul at Howells from 1962-67, St. Rose at Crofton from 1967-71 and returned to St. Peter & Paul at Howells until 1975. She then taught at St. Alphonsus Catholic School in Davenport until retiring in 1996. She taught school for a total of 54 years. After her retirement, she tutored at the convent.
Survivors include: two brothers, Joe (and wife, Helen) Widhelm of Fremont and Ralph Widhelm of North Bend; and a sister, Wilma Dunker of North Bend.
She was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers.
A local funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday, all at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland cemetery in North Bend. The Revs. Alban Sueper, Tom Greisen, Paul Albenisius, Roland Peschel and Tom Gall will officiate.
A funeral also was held today at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Davenport.

Clara Leimer
The funeral for Clara M. Leimer, 90, of Beemer will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in rural Bancroft.
She died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Beemer.
She was born Aug. 15, 1914, in Stuttgart, Kan., to Fred and Mary (Merklein) Hoffman. She attended the Highland School near her family farm. She married Reinhardt Leimer on Sept. 9, 1953. The couple farmed west of Bancroft until moving to a farm east of Beemer in 1964. After retiring, the couple moved into Beemer in 1989.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its Ladies Guild.
Survivors include: a son, Arden Leimer of Beemer; two granddaughters and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter-in-law and a grandson.
The Rev. Jeff Warner will officiate Wednesdays service. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in West Point and will continue from 9 a.m. to service time at the church. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran cemetery.

Marnie Schneider
Marnie Fay Schneider, 77, of Yutan died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
She was born Oct. 17, 1927, in Norfolk to Elven and Margaret (Clocker) Howell. She grew up in White Clay, Stanton and Pierce before the family moved to Millard, Chalco and Omaha. She attended school through the eighth grade. Much of her time was spend helping with chores around the family farm, but she enjoyed ponies. She married Roy Schneider on Nov. 22, 1945, in Omaha, and they raised their family in Fremont, Bennington, Ashland, Arlington and Clarkson before settling in Yutan. She was involved in baby-sitting and foster car and she worked at the Onion Factory in Wahoo. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, traveling and family activities, especially visits from the grandchildren.
Survivors include: a son, Lonnie (and wife, Kathy) of Leshara; a daughter, Connie of Meadow Grove; seven grandchildren; a brother, Wallace (and wife, Shirley) Howell of Mead; sisters, Gladys Anderson of Leshara, Emily Lanham of Yutan and Virgie (and husband, Dick) Winkelman of Fremont, a sister-in-law, Elsie Grimm of Treynor, Iowa; and a brother-in-law, Clarence (and wife, Ethel) Schneider of Omaha.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Lyle and Chester; a sister, Garnett; and a granddaughter.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reichmuth Funeral Home in Yutan with the Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Visitation is noon to 8 p.m. Monday with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Reichmuth Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant View cemetery.
Memorial may be made to the Yutan Rescue Squad.
