Lorene Wiebold
The funeral for Lorene E. Wiebold, 83, of Fremont, formerly of Schuyler, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel in Schuyler.
She died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Fremont Area Medical Center.
Lorene Saalfeld was born Jan. 31, 1920, in Richland. She attended Richland Public School. She married
Leo E. Wiebold on May 15, 1937, in Logan, Iowa. She was a homemaker. She and her spouse lived in Ames from 1943-59 when they moved to Rogers until 1961. They then lived in North Bend from 1961 until moving to Schuyler in 1978. Her husband preceded her in death Feb. 6, 1998. She moved to Fremont in December 1998.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fremont.
Survivors include: two sons, Carroll (and wife, Carol) Wiebold of North Bend and John (and wife, Martha) Wiebold of Dothan, Ala.; two daughters, Donna (Mrs. Allen) Kucera of Phoenix and Linda (Mrs. Ronnie) Kenington of Coffee Springs, Ala.; a sister, Thedora "Sis" Larchick of Lincoln; a brother, Glen (and wife, Twila) Saalfeld of Sacramento, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by a brother and a son-in-law.
The Rev. Mark Grorud will officiate Fridays service. Visitation is in progress until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 8:30 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Schuyler cemetery.
Leota Bennett
Leota Bennett age 101 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Thursday, July 19, 2012 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Jessie A. Auman
July 18, 2012
Jessie A. Auman, age 73, Lincoln. Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and caregiver to many, passed away July 17, 2012. Born November 30, 1939 in Tecumseh, Nebraska to Howard and Bertha (Gardner) Furrow.
She is survived by her children, V-Etta Auman, Richard Auman, Jr. Mary Squires, Bonnie Price, Danny Auman, Sr. and Chad Auman, all of Lincoln. 17 Grandchildren, 12 Great grandchildren. Jessie is preceded in death by her parents, Sister: Joyce Furrow and Brother: George Furrow.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in Wyuka Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wyuka cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 20, 2012 from Noon until 8:00 P.M. The family will be present from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
Memorials may be left for the Parkinsons Foundation in Jessie name.
Joseph Houska Sr.
The funeral for Joseph J. "Joe" Houska Sr., 90, of Wahoo will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo.
He died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004, at Haven House in Wahoo.
Houska was born Dec. 21, 1913, in Plasi. He attended District 62 School through eighth grade. He married
Evelyn Dvorak on Jan. 12, 1938, in North Bend. He was a farmer. He tended to his cows until the spring of 2003 and continued to be active on the farm.
He was an honorary life member of Wahoo Council 1833, Knights of Columbus, a charter member of Saunders County Livestock Feeders Association and a former member of the Saunders County Czech Singers.
Survivors include: his wife; a son, Joseph Houska Jr. of Wahoo; two daughters-in-law, Bernice Houska of Wahoo and Janet Houska of St. Louis; two sisters, Christine Brazil and Josephine McGee, both of Los Angeles; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
The Rev. Rudy Oborny will officiate Saturdays service. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo and continues one hour prior to service time at the church. A scripture service will be 7 p.m. today, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary, all at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Francis cemetery in Wahoo.
Memorials have been established to St. Wenceslaus Elementary School and Bishop Neumann Central Catholic High School.
Harry Daharsh
Harry R. Daharsh, 93, of Wahoo, formerly of Mead, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2004, at Haven House in Wahoo.
Daharsh was born Aug. 21, 1910, in Fairfield. He attended early grade school in the rural Broken Bow area and grades 6-11 in Mead. He returned to Broken Bow his senior year where he graduated in 1929. He attended Grand Island Business School for two years. He married
Odette Larsen on Sept. 5, 1931, in Broken Bow and was a farmer in that area for six years. During World War II, they moved to Mead where he was employed at Nebraska Ordnance Plant. Following the war, he was employed by Farmers Union Elevator and later in the construction industry as a carpenter, plumber and electrician.
He served many years on the Mead Town Board and the Mead Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of Wahoo Eagles Club 2971. He was a longtime active member of Alma Lutheran Church, serving on the church board and in many church capacities.
Survivors include: a daughter, Dee (Mrs. David) Pardekooper of Irvine, Calif.; a sister, Joey Daharsh of Los Angeles; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter and son-in-law, a brother and sister-in-law, a sister and brother-in-law, and a grandson.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Alma Lutheran Church in Mead. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday at Pruss-Nabity Funeral Home in Wahoo. Burial will be in Sunrise cemetery in Wahoo.
A memorial has been established to Alma Lutheran Church.
Delores (Dee) Ann Meeske

Dee, age 65 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Sunday, July 15, 2012, after a lengthy a courageous battle with cancer. Dee was born on October 17, 1946 in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of Lester and Ruth (Hanau) Juilfs. She was baptized on November 28, 1946 and confirmed on March 26, 1961. The second of four children, she grew up on a farm east of Burr, Nebraska. She graduated from Syracuse High School in 1964 and began working at State Farm Insurance Co.
She married
Gary Meeske on May 27, 1972 and two children Jennifer and Brian were born to this union. Dee worked part time at the Lincoln Public Schools for a few years and at Carol Wright Gifts until their closing. She then returned to State Farm Insurance and worked there until her retirement. Family was very important to Dee. She treasured her time with all of them. She enjoyed making crafts, and she and Gary enjoyed the vacations they took together.
She is survived by her husband Gary of 40 years, children and grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott, and William Creed, Lincoln, Nebraska and Brain, Natalie, Meg, Ashtyn, Mitchell and Graham Meeske of Omaha Nebraska, Mother, Ruth Juilfs, Lincoln and Sister Carol Tyler, Lincoln. Brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lester, and her brothers Kenneth and Delton, father and mother-in-law Henry and Ada Meeske.
No services visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2012 from 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home with family visitation from 6:oo P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Private family burial at a later date at Fairview cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may directed to the family for later designation.
Norman Reece Tucker

Norman R. Tucker, 64, of Lincoln was an Army Retired SPC4 Vietnam veteran born to (and preceded in death by) Mamie Jensen in Murfreesboro, TN, on June 22, 1948. Known to family and friends as selfless, generous and jocular, this brave man succumbed to cancer on Thursday July 12, 2012. His enjoyment of fishing, puttering in the garage, and completing (and sometimes repeating) home and mechanical projects at all hours for friends and family was exceeded only by his love for those friends and family.
He is survived by family and many close and beloved friends including his wife of 42 years, Marilee Tucker; son Shane Tucker and his spouse Nichole; daughter Cheyanna Bucknell, her spouse Barry and their children Haley, Chase and Joseph; sister Marie Winfrey and her spouse Bob; brother Terry Jensen and his spouse Christine; brother James Jensen and his spouse Sherry; brother-in-law Allyn Parrott (husband of Norm’s predeceased sister Mary); and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his dad, Jim Jensen.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 16 at 10:00 a.m. at Fellowship Community Church, 8601 Holdrege St. Military honors to follow at Wyuka cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or the Special Olympics.
David J. Douglass

David J. Douglass, age 65, of Lincoln died July 6, 2012. He was born November 3, 1946 in Lincoln to Everett J. and Mary V. (Raichart) Douglass. He was employed with Speedway Motors as a fiberglass fabricator. David was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; Sons and Daughter-in-law: Adam Douglass, Jason and Karen Stinson, Joseph Stevens. Grandchildren: Jasmine Stinson, Fayth Stevens and Joseph Stevens, III. Brother and Sister-in-law: Rick and Barbara Douglass all of Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his son: Jason, Brother: Jim and his parents.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. in Wyuka Funeral Home Chapel. Interment of ashes will be at Wyuka cemetery.
Memorials may be left for the family for a later designation.
Roberta Hazel Cody

Roberta Hazel Cody age 92 of Lincoln, Nebraska died on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Southlake Village in Lincoln. She was born on March 25, 1920 in Burchard, Nebraska to Miles and Hazel (Hart) Klein. She graduated from Burchard High School in 1937, attended Peru State College and Lincoln School of Commerce. Roberta served in the U.S. Navy Waves as a Yeoman First Class from 1944 to 1946. She married
Donald R. Cody on April 16, 1950 at the Second Presbyterian Church in Lincoln. She worked as a secretary for State Farm from 1947 to 1954 and as an elementary secretary for Omaha Public Schools for 1969 to 1990.
Roberta is survived by her husband, Donald of Lincoln; daughter, Dr. Carolyn Cody of Lincoln; sons, Douglas R. (Doreen) Cody of Minneapolis, MN; Gregory S. (Kelly) Cody of Lincoln; grandsons, Sean and Ryan Cody of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ellis E. Klein; sister, Wilma E. Klein.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Wyuka Funeral Home.
