Cyrus Vernon Trygstad
Cyrus Vernon Trygstad, age 79,a long time resident of Pelican Rapids, currently residing in Fargo, ND, died in his home September 30, 2002.
Cyrus was born on February 5,1923 in Kidder, SD. The son of John Odean and Hannah Elizabeth Trygstad. He attended school in Kidder and upon graduation from high school entered the Navy on August 7, 1942. He was discharged in May of 1946. He and Edith M. Erickson of Brooklyn, NY were joined in marriage the 25th of May, 1946.
Cyrus attended Northern State College in Aberdeen, SD. graduating in May, 1950.After teaching in South Dakota for three years, he joined the faculty at Pelican Rapids in 1953, retiring from teaching in 1988. In later years Cyrus was the school's vocational guidance instructor.
Cy enjoyed traveling, photography, fishing, a wide variety of music, and geology. He also had a large collection of Indian artifacts, which he enjoyed looking for with friends and his sons.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Edith, four sons, Curtis (Carol) of St. Peter, MN, Glenn (Lynette) of Bloomington, MN, Joel (Mara) of Fargo ND, and Todd (Debra) of Erhard, MN. He also leaves seven grandchildren, two sisters Nila (Bud) Carpenter of Blaine, MN and Mavis (Roger) Ferk of Hampton Roads, VA, as well as beloved nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
His parents, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
The memorial service will be Friday, October 4th, at 2:00 PM, at the First Congregational Church in Pelican Rapids.
Albert Theodore Weber
Albert Theodore Weber, 78, Fargo, died Sunday, April 14, 2002 at ManorCare Health Services, Fargo.
Albert Theodore Weber, known as Pete, was born September 28, 1923 in Selby, SD. He was raised and educated in Aberdeen, SD. He moved to Fargo in 1975. He worked as Groundskeeper at the Sacred Heart Convent in Fargo for eleven years, retiring from there.
He is survived by five children, Harvey Weber, Constance Peters of Sioux Falls, SD, Cheryl Weber of Fargo, ND, Darrell Weber of Claremore, OK and Lance Weber of Seattle, WA. A Sister: Virginia Gese, Lake Havasu, AZ. Nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: His parents, four brothers and one sister.
Visitation: 5 to 7 PM, Wednesday, at Hanson-Runsvold, Fargo, ND.
Funeral: 2 PM, Thursday, at Hanson-Runsvold, Fargo, ND.
Burial: Springvale cemetery, Fargo, ND.
Connie Lynette Wenaas
Connie Lynette Wenaas, 63, Fargo, died Wednesday, December 18, 2002 in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Connie L. Ramstad, daughter of Lyle and Lorraine, was born October 17, 1939 near Galesburg, ND. She grew up on the family farm near Hunter, ND, and graduated from Hunter High School in 1957. She continued her schooling at Concordia College where she graduated from the medical technology program in 1961. On June 4, 1960, she married
Donald K. Wennas, Hunter, ND. The couple has resided in Fargo their entire married
life together.
Upon graduation, Connie found employment with the Fargo Clinic (MeritCare). She had been employed with MeritCare for the past 41 years as a medical technologist in the chemistry laboratory. She had been planning to retire in May of the coming year.
She enjoyed the time she spent at the family lake home in Becker County and had been looking forward to being able to spend summers there with Don, who had retired five years ago. She was active in activities through her husband’s El Zagal Shrine membership.
Connie found her passion in her family and friends. To those who knew her well, the adage "it’s better to give than to receive" would represent the rule by which she lived. She will be truly missed by all of those who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; two sons, Michael (Kirsten), and Steven, both of Fargo; her mother, Lorraine Ramstad, Hunter, ND; sister, Carol (Myron) Brend, Fargo; three brothers, Darrell Ramstad, Hunter, ND; Dennis Ramstad, Hunter, ND; Daylen (Polly) Ramstad, Fargo, ND; three granddaughters, Kendall, Sarah, and Lauren Wenaas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Ramstad.
Memorials are preferred to the Hope Lutheran Church Foundation, Fargo, ND.
Funeral: Saturday, December 21, 10:30 a.m., at Hope Lutheran Church, North Campus, Fargo.
Visitation: Friday, December 20, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Prayer Service: Friday, December 20, at 7 p.m. at Hanson-Runsvold Chapel.
Burial: Hunter cemetery, Hunter, ND.
Betty Whittlesey
Betty K. Whittlesey, 79, died at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday May 25, 2002, in the Perham Memorial Hospital, from pneumonia. She died peacefully and without great suffering, in the presence of those whom she loved most and who loved her most, her husband and children.
Betty Janet Klingberg was born in 1923 in Beloit, Wisconsin, the daughter of Martin and Florence Klingberg. She graduated from Beloit High School in 1941, attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and received her BA from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, in 1945. While working in Chicago she met John S. Whittlesey, whom she married
in 1949 and whose life she graced in matrimony for more than fifty-three years. John and Betty lived briefly in Kansas City, Missouri, and in 1951 moved to John’s hometown, Fargo, North Dakota. There she gave birth to and raised her three sons, Martin, Charles, and Clay. Upon retirement, she and John moved to their cottage on Big McDonald Lake near Vergas, Minnesota, where she lived until her death.
Betty was much loved by her family and many friends for her sense of humor, her fascination with people, her enjoyment of life, her accepting heart, her selflessness, her perceptive wit, and her always willing ear, which she lent to anyone at any hour of the day. She made our home a welcoming place always filled with laughter and conversation; any room she entered, she filled with light, sparkle, and easy charm.
Betty was an expert at sewing and embroidery, world politics, crossword puzzles, and electronics—equally comfortable with wrench or a pen in her hand. Doggedly persistent, she stuck with each and every task she began until she got it right.
Betty is survived by her husband John, Big McDonald Lake, Minnesota; her son Martin and daughter in-law Suzi, Salt Lake City, Utah; son Charles, daughter in-law Nancy, and granddaughters Elizabeth and Claire, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and son Clay, Fargo; and her sister Dorothy MacRae, Bradenton, Florida
Visitation: Tuesday, May 28, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home in Fargo, with a prayer service for family and close friends at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral: Wednesday, May 29, at 2:00 at the Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home.
Burial: Riverside cemetery in Fargo.
Baby Girl Wimer
Baby Girl Wimer, infant daughter of Nick and Shauna Wimer, passed away Friday, August 9th at Innovis Hospital, Fargo.
She is survived by her parents: Nick and Shauna Wimer; a brother, Charles and grandparents: Grandma Dee Nordling of Fargo and Grandpa Bob and Grandma Trudy Wimer of Fargo.
Graveside Service: 11 AM, Monday, August 12th at Riverside cemetery, Fargo.
Albert J. Winden
Albert J. Winden, 78, Fargo, died Thursday, October 17th at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Albert was born April 25, 1924 at Minneapolis, MN to Albert and Edith (Pakkala) Winden. He came to Fargo in the early 1990’s and had lived at the 400 on Broadway in downtown Fargo.
Visitation: One hour before services.
Funeral: 2 PM, Monday, October 21st at Hanson-Runsvold, Fargo.
Burial: Springvale cemetery, Fargo.
Ann Elizabeth Schossow
Ann Elizabeth Schossow, 46, died Friday, November 29th, 2002 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, from complications due to a car-pedestrian accident on November 4th in St. Louis Park, MN.
Ann was born in Fargo on April 21, 1956 to Neil and Olive Bergquist. She graduated from Fargo North High School and also attended NDSU. Ann worked for Qwest in Fargo and in Golden Valley, MN, from 1975 until the present time. She was united in marriage with Steve Schossow on April 8, 1993 in Fargo.
Ann loved her time walking, swimming, dancing, traveling and visiting with her family and many, many friends. Ann had a talent for lighting up a room with her smile and making everyone feel special.
She is survived by her husband; two step-children, Melissa & Matthew Schossow, Waukesha, WI; her father, Neil Bergquist, Fargo; five sisters, Sally (David) Suby and Claudia (Ron) Pederson, both of Fargo, Janet (Greg) Rutler, Bainbridge, NY, and Mary (Kim) Softing, Cormorant Lake, MN, Carol (Bob) Priewe, Wyndmere, ND; four brothers, Nicholas (Sandra) Bergquist, West Fargo, ND, Christopher Bergquist, Detroit Lakes, MN, Eric Bergquist, Higgins, TX, and John (Stacey) Bergquist, Detroit Lakes, MN; eleven nieces and eleven nephews; and her treasured dog "Rocket".
Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Olive Bergquist.
Visitation: One hour before services at the church.

Beverly Jean Reisinger
Beverly Jean Reisinger, 69, Fargo, ND died Sunday, September 29, 2002 at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo.
Beverly, daughter of Earl and Myrtle Amanda Anthony, was born April 23, 1933 in Fargo. She graduated from Argusville, ND in 1952. Beverly married
Leon Reisinger on July 7, 1978. They farmed in Upsula, MN from 1978 until 1981. She worked in retail for Target in Fargo until her retirement in 2000. She was an active member of Plymouth Congregational Church. She enjoyed baking, cooking and loved caring for plants.
She is survived by her husband Leon; a brother Allen (Val) Anthony; two half sisters, Marjorie Bergman and Evelyn Brauckmuller; two daughters, Wanda (David) Thorson, West Fargo, ND: Linda (Ron) Moran, West Fargo, ND; four grandchildren, Ryan and Jamey Moran; Amanda and Tyrel Thorson; one aunt, Hazel Malzahn, Argusville, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Myrtle Anthony; first husband Gordon Terry; a half-brother Junior Floyd Anthony.
Funeral will be at Plymouth Congregational Church on Wednesday, October 2, at 2 pm, with visitation Tuesday 6 – 8 pm at Hanson Runsvold Funeral Home. Burial will be at Argusville cemetery.
Bette Jean Reid
Bette Jean Reid, 78, of Fargo, ND, died Saturday, July 27, 2002 in her home.
Bette was born October 4, 1923, in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Otto and Ethel (Sprinkle) Bartos. Bette grew up and graduated in Des Moines. After graduation she was employed by Banker’s Life Insurance Company. On December 29, 1944 Bette married
Robert Huston Reid in Des Moines, IA. They moved to Omaha, NE, and then to Fargo, ND in 1965 where they raised their family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert and a sister Ruth Furman.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane R. (Robert) Carlson of Maple Grove, MN; 2 sons, Scott D. of Boise, ID, Rodney D. (Jane) of Champaign, IL; and 8 grandchildren.
Funeral: Sunday, August 4, at 2 PM in First Presbyterian Church, Fargo.
Visitation: Saturday, 4-6 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo.
Burial: Riverside cemetery, Fargo, ND.
Dolores Jean Quam
Dolores Jean Quam passed away Saturday, August 3, 2002 in Detroit Lakes, MN.
Dolores was born December 3, 1923 to Esther and Harold Prichard in Gardner, ND. She married
John M. Quam on August 5, 1947 in Moorhead, MN.
She is survived by her husband, daughters Claudia (Edward) Scribner, Oklahoma City, OK, Jonel Quam, Stillwater, OK, Betsy (Rabon) Martin, Tulsa, OK; sisters Carol Quam, Fargo, Janice Prichard Scott, Rancho Mirage, CA; grandchildren John Scribner, Arlington, VA, Tony Martin, Tulsa, OK. Dolores is preceded in death by a sister Mavis Sunde.
