Augustina M. Ochsner
Augustina M. Ochsner, 81, of Fargo, ND, died on Sunday, August 4, 2002 at MeritCare Hospital.
Augustina Mable Ritter was born on June 8, 1921 in Dunn Center, ND where she grew up and started her education. She moved to Fargo as a teenager. On January 24, 1944, she married
John Ochsner in Moorhead, MN. Together, they continued to live in Fargo where she worked and retired from the Elks Lodge.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge.
Augustina was a homemaker and a very kind and loving mom, grandma, and great-grandma.
Augustina was preceded in death by her husband, John, five brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by three children, Diane (Gary) Klinsmann of Redding, CA; Curt (Patti) of Hawley, MN; and Cheryline Ochsner of Fargo; one brother, Emil Ritter of Anetta, ND; two sisters, Helen Benson of Fargo, ND and Appolona Torgerson of Tacoma, WA; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Clarence Miller Krogsgaard
Clarence Miller Krogsgaard, 87, died Monday, February 4, 2002 at ManorCare Health Services, Fargo, ND.
Clarence Miller Krogsgaard, son of Jens K. & Mildred E. (Johnson) Krogsgaard, was born on December 8, 1914 at Hope, ND. He grew up and lived in the Page (ND) area, he graduated from high school at Colgate, ND. He served in the US Army during World War II. Following discharge from the Army, he farmed and owned and operated the Page Blacksmith Shop. In 1963, he attended and graduated from the Hobart Welding School in Troy, Ohio and moved to West Fargo. He worked for the Northern Improvement Company in Fargo as a welder from 1965 to 1981, when he retired. In 1972, he moved to the Countryside Trailer Park, where he still resided.
Clarence was a 56 year member of the American Legion Post # 154 at Page and a lifetime member of the Fargo VFW Post # 762, and also the Masonic Lodge
He is survived by: Two Sisters, Evelyn (Ronald) Cochrane of Eagle, ID & Agnes (Pete) Guth of Redding, CA; Two Sisters-in-law, Dorothy Krogsgaard of Page, ND & Viola Krogsgaard of Freeborn, MN; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Harold, Kenneth & Vernon.
Memorial Service: 2 PM, Saturday, February 9th, 2002 at the Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo.
Burial: Page cemetery, Page, ND.
Arlene Kraft
Arlene J. Kraft, 66, died quietly in her sleep at Bethany Homes in Fargo, ND, Tuesday April 2, 2002 after a ten year battle with Alzheimer’s.
Arlene was born February 17, 1936 in Marion, ND to Henry and Irene (Nickols) Opdahl. She grew up in Litchville, ND and graduated from Litchville High School. She later moved to Fargo and attended Interstate Business College. On January 16, 1955 she was married
to Curtis Kraft in Litchville. They made their home in Fargo. She entered Bethany Homes in 1995.
Arlene loved the time spent at their lake cottage, working in the gardens, and bowling weekly for years on a league in Fargo.
Arlene is survived by her husband, Curt; two daughters, Kathy Pendergrast, San Jose, CA and Julie (Wilt) Warren, Gresham, OR; two sons, Rob (Cindy) and Randy (Kim) both of Mapleton, ND; one sister, Delores Olafson, Cooperstown, ND; one brother, Harlan (Sharon) Opdahl, Litchville, ND; six grandchildren, Lori Pendergrast, Astoria, NY, Sherri Pendergrast, San Diego, CA, Josh Kraft, Fargo, ND, Alicia Kraft, Mapleton, ND, and Donovan Maddocks and Kendra Radke, both of Mapleton, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, Hank and Irene Opdahl, and one grandchild, Jason Pendergrast, preceded Arlene in death.
FUNERAL: Thursday, April 11, 2002 at 2:00 PM in Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home Fargo, ND.
VISITATION: Wednesday, April 10, 2002 from 5-8 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
PRAYER SERVICE: Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at 7:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
BURIAL: Memory Gardens, Valley City, ND at a later date.
Bill Kern
Bill Kern, 21, died Sunday, July 21st in Fargo.
Bill Kern was born August 21, 1980 in Orange County, CA. He grew up in southern California until he was eleven and moved with his family to Fargo, ND, where he has lived since. He attended Horace Mann, Ben Franklin and Fargo North High School, graduating in 1999. He cooked at Mayday's, the Great Northern and Granite City. He was currently working for TNT Concrete as an assistant foreman. He also worked for his father in Bob Kern and Sons Plumbing and Home Improvement.
He is survived by:
His Father & Step-Mother: Bob and Deb Kern of Fargo. His Mother & Step-Father: Laura and Larry Reid of San Francisco, CA. A Sister and Five Brothers: Brandi, Jeremiah, Rob, Arlin, Wes and Travis, all of Fargo. Grandparents: Russell and Josephine Bercier of Rolla, ND and Jean and Jack Daley of Orange County, CA.
Visitation: One hour before services.
Memorial Service: 11 AM, Friday, July 26th at Hanson-Runsvold, Fargo.
Anna Keim
Anna M. Keim passed away Sunday, February 10th at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.
She was born December 31, 1923, to her parents, Thomas and Frances (Slocum) Green at their rural home near Fairmount, ND. She attended a rural elementary school, Fairmount High School, and Ellendale Normal and Industrial School. From 1942 to 1956 she was employed in Washington, DC with the RFC, FNMA, and Agricultural Department agencies. After her marriage to Glen Keim in 1956, and their return to this area, she worked as a secretary at the VA Hospital until retiring in 1978.
Anna and Glen also owned and operated the West Fargo Tastee Freez for a considerable number of years. One of Anna’s greatest joys was handing out special little gifts to the children in addition to serving them their ice cream.
Anna was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fargo where she taught Sunday school, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Fargo VFW Auxiliary, the Fargo Fine Arts Club, and a leader for the 4-H Club.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, her parents, and an older sister, Blanche.
She is survived by her husband, Glen; a sister, Evelyn (Arnold) Boehmlehner of Wheaton, MN; a brother, Chuck (Phyllis) Green of Detroit Lakes, MN; six nephews and nieces and seventeen grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at 10:00 AM in First United Methodist Church, Fargo.
Visitation: Tuesday, February 12, from 5-8 PM with a prayer service at 8 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo.
Burial: Fairmount cemetery, Fairmount, ND, following a graveside committal service at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 13th.
Donald Sabin Jones
Donald Sabin Jones, SR, 84, Fargo, died Friday, July 5th at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Donald Sabin Jones, SR, son of Cyrille Edwin and Glenna (Sabean) Jones, was born on October 7, 1917 at St. Paul, MN. He graduated from Tower-Soudan High School in Tower, MN and attended Ely Junior College in Ely, MN. He was married
to Alice Jensen on August 25, 1940 at Rochester, MN. He was a carpenter for McGough Contractors from 1937 to 1951. From 1951 to 1980, he worked for Ellerbe Architects out of St. Paul, MN, as an architectural inspector. H retired in 1980. Alice died in 1989. He was married
to Mary Jane McNeal on October 30, 1990 in Fargo and has lived here since that time.
He is survived by: His wife, a Son: Donald S. Jones, JR of Cottage Grove, MN, three Daughters: Glenna M. Weninger (John) of Cottage Grove, MN, Haroldine Jones of Brooten, MN and Karla C. Liebelt (Robert) of Golden, CO. A Sister: Dorothy Linder of Centralia, WA, Nine Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife (Alice), and a brother (Howard).
He was a member of the Eagles, Moose Lodge and the Sons of Norway.
Visitation: 5 to 7 PM, Monday at Hanson-Runsvold, Fargo.
Funeral: 1 PM, Wednesday at Ellis Funeral Home, Hastings, MN.
Burial: Maple Lawn cemetery, Faribault, MN.
Clifford V. L. Johnson
Clifford V. L. Johnson, 85, Fargo, died Wednesday, April 17th at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Clifford, son of Henry and Anna (Danielson) Johnson, was born on February 21, 1917 at Wolverton, MN. He grew up and was educated in West Fargo and Fargo. He worked as a bellhop and bartender at the Ford Hotel in Fargo and also worked as bartender at the Nestor. In January of 1942, he entered the US Navy and served with the North Atlantic fleet. He was honorably discharged in January of 1946. He tended bar at the Smoke Shop in Fargo. On January 20, 1947, he was united in marriage with Helen Dahl in Moorhead, MN. He bartended and then managed the V.F.W. Club for twenty years. He worked as bar manager at the Elks Club and then managed the Sons of Norway, before retiring at age 62. He volunteered many hours at the Veterans Hospital and the Sons of Norway. Helen died on September 19, 1994.
He is survived by: Three Sisters, Mildred Werner of Buffalo Lake, MN, Ruth Ann Finley of Minneapolis, MN, and Phyllis Moritz (Ken) of Buffalo Lake, MN. Two Sisters-in-law, Alice Anderson and Norma Jackson of Fargo. Two Brothers-in-law, Millard Dahl (Betty) of Leonard and Ernest Dahl (Jean) of Fargo. Many Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by: His parents, a sister, Elizabeth, four brothers, Woody, Loren, Oscar and Ed.
Visitation: 4 to 7 PM, Monday, April 22nd at Hanson-Runsvold and for one hour before services at the church.
Funeral: 1 PM, Tuesday, April 23rd at Messiah Lutheran Church, Fargo.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
Cleo Johnson
Cleo Johnson, 79, of Fargo, died Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo.
Cleo was born on January 2, 1923 in Forreston, MN, the daughter of Sigurd and Martha (Olson) Olsen. She attended school and graduated from Foreman High School. Prior to her marriage, she worked at the Post Office in Foreman and also worked at the IRS in Fargo. On August 3, 1947 she married
Walter E. Johnson in Fargo, ND. She then helped Walter open their first pharmacy in Enderlin, ND where they lived until 1956 when they moved to Fargo and opened Johnson Drug. Walter died on October 13, 1987.
Cleo was a member of Peace Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and was a part of the Circle Group, the Elk’s, and the Lion’s Club.
Cleo enjoyed participating in bowling leagues with her husband, music, and dancing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; and five brothers, Maynard, Lloyd, Wayne, Lyle, and Carl Olsen.
Cleo is survived by two sons, Guy Johnson of Moorhead, MN and Joel Johnson (Rocky Buranen) of Champlin, MN; two daughters, Pam Bragg (Joseph) of Beach, ND and Becky Hoschouer (Ron) of Eagan, MN; one brother, Reo Olsen (Gen) of Moorhead, MN; two sisters, Doris Wanberg of Fargo, ND and Margie Ray (Paul) of Grand Forks, ND; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL: Saturday at 10:00 AM in Peace Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND.
VISITATION: Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM in Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND
