They had two sons, Wayne and Gerald. They lived in Minot until 1932 when they moved to Bismarck where George worked for Interstate Transportation Co. In 1941, they bought a small farm in Apple Creek Township. George passed away in 1968 and Vera continued to live on the farm until 1994 when she moved into Bismarck. She was assessor for Apple Creek Township for 24 years and served as clerk for Apple Creek School Board. She was also a volunteer at the Burleigh County Senior Center for many years. Justin King
TUTTLE -- Justin Jay King, 25, Tuttle, died Aug. 28, 2001, from injuries sustained in a truck accident. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at English Lutheran Church, Tuttle, with the Rev. Justin worked for several farmers in the Tuttle area, and also worked for several construction companies in the area. In 1994 he left to pursue his dream, going to Alaska to join his Uncle Alan, eventually going to work for Custom Landscapes in Alaska. That fall he returned to North Dakota and for a time worked for A-1 Tree Service in Bismarck. The spring of 1995 found Justin and a friend returning to Alaska, once again, working for Custom Landscaping. He returned to North Dakota that fall, saying there was too much crime in Anchorage for him. He then worked for several different construction companies in the Bismarck and Tuttle areas. After the death of his older brother, Ryan, in August of 1999, Justin decided to go back to Alaska, where he transported and worked with heavy equipment on "the slope" near the North Pole. He returned to Tuttle in June of 2001. He was currently working for his uncle, Tim Johnson, for New Horizons Construction out of Tuttle. He was one of those young people struggling to find his place in life. He always had a story, a way with words, and a smile and a hug for Mom. He was friendly to everyone and would stop to talk with anyone. Justin was always able to cheer you up if you were down. He loved to hunt and fish, and he and his dog, "Yeller" were inseparable. Yeller was with him at the time of the accident. Justin is survived by his mother, Barbara King, Bismarck; his father, James King, Tuttle; his sister, Nicole King, Bismarck; his grandfather, Vernon L. Johnson, Tuttle; his grandmother, Ruby Driscoll, Tuttle; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ryan; his grandfather, Gerald Driscoll; his grandmother, Evelyn Johnson; and a friend, Jason Sorenson.
