MCCLUSKY -- Emma Rund, 98, McClusky and formerly of Goodrich, died May 21, 2000 in the Turtle Lake hospital. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, at First Baptist Church, Goodrich, with burial in Goodrich City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky. Emma was born on Feb. 20, 1902 near Goodrich. She was the daughter of John and Magdalena (Krein) Felchle. She grew up and attended school near Goodrich. She married Jacob Rund on Oct. 21, 1926 in Goodrich. They lived and farmed in the Goodrich area. They moved into Goodrich in 1946. He died on Sept. 23, 1960. She entered the Sheridan Memorial Home in 1992. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Goodrich. Her hobbies included sewing and gardening. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, P.J. and Darlene Rund, Ada, Minn.; one daughter and son-in-law, Hazel and David Dorn, Clarksville, Mich.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lydia; seven brothers, August, John, Fred, Jake, Ed, Jonathan and Ted. Memorials are preferred to the First Baptist Church of Goodrich or the Goodrich City Cemetery.

Mildred Wittmayer
MINOT -- Mildred Wittmayer, 87, Minot, and formerly of Parshall, died May 20, 2000 in a Minot nursing home. Arrangements are pending with Johnson Funeral Home, Parshall.

Tony American Horse
The Rev. Tony American Horse Sr., 65, Cannon Ball, was called home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2000, after sharing his last message in Devils Lake. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Temple of Praise Church, Cannon Ball, with the Revs. Melda Lambert and Winston Bird officiating. Burial will be in the American Horse Family Cemetery, Cannon Ball. A full gospel revival service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Visitation will be held at the church one hour before services. Tony was born Nov. 26, 1934, at Cannon Ball, to George and Lucy (Hawk Bear) American Horse. He was raised and educated in the Cannon Ball area. On Jan. 17, 1957, he married Darlene Hunt, who was very special to him. In 1959 Tony was called into the ministry. Along with his wife, they traveled throughout the United States and Canada, sharing the gospel to the surrounding reservations. He held many tent revivals and camp meetings during the summer months. He was a self-employed rancher and also worked with Viking Homes, Buckingham, Wachter Cattle Company, and contracted with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. He became proficient in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, bricklaying and ductwork. He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Ione and Evans Elk, Lovetta and Daniel Martin, Cheryl and Cyrus Black Elk, and Mona and Royce Follet, all of Cannon Ball; five sons and daughters-in-law, Marlon and Rita Hunt, Tony Jr. and Verdelia American Horse, Matt and Julie American Horse, Dusty and Nathalie American Horse, all of Cannon Ball, and Weyland and Myra American Horse, Fort Yates; two adopted daughters, The Rev. J. Lockwood, New Town, and Lillian Zahn, Solen; four adopted sons, Wayne Shorting, Terry Miller, Alan Follows the Road, and Orrin Cottonwood; one sister, Gloria American Horse, Cannon Ball; one brother, George American Horse; one adopted sister, Martha Fox, New Town; six adopted brothers, Winston, Gary, Rex, Henry and Wilfred Bird, and Roger Bissonnette; 31 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and all of his colleagues in the ministry and ranching business. Tony was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Matthew and Lucas; four sisters, Mildred Tikanye, Wilma Summers, Gloria and Charlotte American Horse; two granddaughters, Jurnee Jo Black Elk and Darlene American Horse; and one grandson, Craig Bates. Jacob Ehli
Jacob Ehli, 85, Bismarck, died May 22, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending with Bismarck Funeral Home.

Judy K. Grabar
Judy K. Grabar, 48, Bismarck, died May 22, 2000, in her home after a one-year battle with cancer. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at at Church of Corpus Christi, with the Rev. Steve Zastoupil officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home, where a rosary and prayer service will begin at 7 tonight. Judy was born May 1, 1952, in Bismarck, the daughter of Bernard and Elizabeth (Eisele) Morris. She attended school in Bismarck, graduating from St. Mary's Central High School. In 1974 she graduated from University of Mary. Judy married John Grabar on June 15, 1974 in Bismarck. She worked at the UND Family Practice Center. She enjoyed sailing, skiing and shopping. She is survived by her husband, John; one son, Michael; one daughter, Lisa; her mother, Elizabeth Morris; two brothers, Jim Morris and Bernard Morris Jr., all of Bismarck; one sister, Michelle Otto, Kansas City, Mo.; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Loretta Grabar, Bismarck; five sisters-in-law, Ardyth, Denise, Pam, Susan and Patty; and two brothers-in-law, Steve and Mark Grabar. She was preceded in death by her father; three aunts, Christine, Molly and Regina. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorials to the Bismarck Area Catholic Education Foundation.

GARRISON -- Evangeline C. Hansen, 94, Oconomowoc, died May 22, 2000, in Oconomowoc. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Garrison. She is survived by her husband, Leonard; one son, Raymond, Jackson, Minn.; one daughter, Diane Mautz, Hartland, Wis.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Charlotte Reuter, Fort Collins, Colo., Irene Buseck and Elizabeth Sweanington, both of Bismarck, Mary DeHaven, Garrison, and Theresa Teed, Bremerton, Wash.; and two brothers, Robert Walsh, Parshall, and Thomas Walsh, Vancouver, Wash. LEMMON, S.D. -- Bessie Haugen, 98, Lemmon, died May 17, 2000, in the Lemmon nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MDT Saturday at Rosebud Lutheran Church, with burial in Thorsen Cemetery, rural Shadehill. Joseph R. Hutmacher
KILLDEER -- Joseph R. Hutmacher, 79, Killdeer, died May 22, 2000, in the Killdeer care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Killdeer, with burial in Killdeer cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Angie; three daughters, Judy Roshau, Killdeer, Sydney Nupen, Killdeer, and Ruth Stroh, St. Cloud, Minn.; one son, Joe Jr., Pine City, Minn.; two stepdaughters, Sherry Hatfield, Gillette, Wyo., and Jackie Powers, Lemmon, S.D.; 10 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Barbara Stroh, Dickinson, and Katie Huck, Sturgis, S.D. W. C. Jordan
W. C. (Bill) Jordan, died May 21, 2000, at his home in Fargo. Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church, Fargo. Visitation will be held at the church one hour before services. Bill Jordan was born March 6, 1916, in Luverne, and graduated from Luverne High School in 1932. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1935 until he enrolled at Moorhead State University. He graduated in 1941 earning national honors in debate. Bill served four years in the U.S. Navy during World War II, specializing in communications and achieved the rank of Lt. (Jg). He saw action in the Caribbean, Atlantic, Mediterranean and Hawaii. Bill married Alice Eggert on January 13, 1945, in Billings, Montana. They moved to Fargo in 1946, where he was employed at Acme Welding Supply. He retired as President in 1979. Bill's community activities included being Cubmaster, Scoutmaster, Chairman of the Mayor's Committee on the Handicapped, Chairman of the 46th District Republican Party, Director of the National Welding Supply Association, President of the Melissa-Sallie Lake Association, and President of the Scottsdale Golfview Association. He was also a member of the MSU Foundation, NDSU Teammakers, and Elks. He was the Charter President of the Fargo-Moorhead Sertoma Club in 1957, and helped organize clubs in other North Dakota cities, including Bismarck. Bill also enjoyed speaking and entertaining at local and national events. Bill is survived by his wife, Alice, Fargo; one brother, Richard, Billings, MT; one sister, Ruth, Helena, Mont.; one daughter and son-in-law, Cynthy and Dave Clausnitzer, Bismarck; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Noel Jordan and his friend, Carol, La Crosse, Wis., Bill, Jr. and Diane Jordan, Detroit Lakes, Minn., and Mark and Brenda Jordan, Fargo; and twelve grandchildren, Todd, Christopher, Katie and Robert Jordan, La Crosse, Tami Jordan, Columbus, Ind., Jill and her husband, Duane Kembel, Portland, Ore., Suzy Clausnitzer, Bismarck, Billy, Torie and Libby Jordan, Detroit Lakes, and Lindsay and Seth Jordan, Fargo. Erna Kautz
NEW LEIPZIG -- Erna Kautz, 85, New Leipzig, died May 22, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MDT Friday at Immanual Lutheran Church, New Leipzig, with burial in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural New Leipzig. She is survived by her husband, Sam; three sons, Corwin, New Leipzig, LeRoy, Jamestown, and Howard, Cavalier; two daughters, Florence Seidler, New Leipzig, and Priscilla Wiederhold, Littleton, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Arthur S. Kraft
FLASHER -- Arthur S. Kraft, 80, 218 Fourth Ave. E., Flasher, died May 21, 2000, at his residence. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. MDT Thursday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Flasher, with the Rev. Kuriakose Nediakala officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at 1 p.m. MDT with a military committal service by the American Legion Schafer Boye Lange Post No. 69. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan. Visitation will continue at 4 p.m. MDT at St. Lawrence Church in Flasher, followed by a parish rosary at 7:30 p.m. MDT. Arthur was born on Jan. 15, 1920, in Shields, the son of Frank and Christina (Weist) Kraft. He was raised and educated in Shields. In 1941, he entered the U.S. Army, which was the beginning of his highly decorated and dedicated four-year military service to his country. He was in the 164th Infantry serving in the South Pacific. While there, he was wounded in action in 1945 at Luzon, South Pacific, and as a result, had a lifelong disability. Arthur was awarded a number of medals, among them, the Purple Heart, three Bronze Stars and other citations. His dedication to his country and the military continued as an active member of the American Legion Boye Schafer Post No. 69 in Flasher. While in the military he was on the U.S. Army Boxing Team. His family was his pride and joy, especially his grandchildren, spending many hours with them teaching boxing techniques, fixing bikes and old cars. His love for the outdoors and nature were a source of enjoyment, in particular planting trees. Whenever he planted a tree, it would grow. These memories and his dedication will be cherished by his community and most of all his family. He is survived by his wife, Frances; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Terry and Dale, Flasher, Gene and Jolene, Clarkston, Mich., John, Moorhead, Minn., and Adrian, Bismarck; one daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Robert Young, Columbia, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one foster grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Joe, Benjamin, Martin and John; four sisters, Katie Bonogofsky, Apolonia Dressler, Margaret Schlosser, and Ann Kraft. The family prefers memorials to the Disabled American Veterans.

Darrell Kueffler
GRENORA -- Darrell Kueffler, 63, Grenora, died May 22, 2000, in the Williston hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Bonifice Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Further arrangements are pending at Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

Vera Lloyd
FESSENDEN -- Vera Lloyd, 100, Fessenden, died May 22, 2000, in the Harvey nursing home. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden, with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Fessenden. Arrangements are pending at Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden.

Alyce Maxwell
FESSENDEN -- Alyce Maxwell, 85, Fessenden, died May 21, 2000, in the New Rockford nursing home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Church of the Nazarene, Fessenden, with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Fessenden. He is survived by one son, William, Fessenden; one daughter, Kathryn Will, Plattville, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Pauline Selseth, New Jersey, Tillie Gillstrip and Caroline Kiser, both of Sacramento, Calif., and Irene Miles, Grand Rapids, Mich. HARVEY -- Alvina Roemmich, 72, Harvey, died May 21, 2000, in the New Rockford nursing home. She is survived by three sons, Jacob, Devils Lake, Timothy, Holdrege, Neb., and Paul Allen, Berline; four daughters, Sheila Strand, Holdrege, Leslie Unger, Loomis, Neb., Lori Stroup, Holdrege, and Sylvia Roemmich, Fessenden; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five brothers, LeRoy Wagner, Spokane, Wash., Arley Wagner, Carrington, Alvin Wagner, Sulpher Springs, Texas, William Wagner, Wimbledon, and Douglas Wagner, Wahpeton; and three sisters, Leona Kindt, Kearney, Neb., Alice Willey, Carrington, and Terri Gressett, Holdrege. Olka Maria Seibel
Olka Maria Seibel, 86, Bismarck, died May 23, 2000, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, Driscoll, with the Rev. Jo Olson officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Sterling Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-9 tonight, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday at Boelter Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour before services. Olka was born Dec. 15, 1913, in a sod house two miles from the North Dakota state line in Campbell County, S.D., the daughter of Alexander and Mathilda (Woehlhoff) Seibel. In 1915 she moved with her family from South Dakota to rural McClusky where she attended school. In 1935 she moved to the Sterling area, where she lived until moving to Wing in 1972. She worked domestic work in Bismarck and farm labor until her retirement in 1972. Olka moved to Bismarck in 1993, and entered the Bismarck Baptist Home in 1996. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting and gardening. She is survived by two sisters, Tillie Reinhart and Martha Seibel, both of Bismarck; one brother, Floyd, Sterling; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers, Reinhold "Ray," Gotthilf, Alex, Alfred and Hilbert "Tex."

Mildred Wittmayer
PARSHALL -- Mildred Wittmayer, 87, Minot, died May 20, 2000, in a Minot nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, Parshall, with burial in Parshall Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Gary, Whitefish Bay, Wis., and Curt, Parshall; one brother, Norman Joern, Upham; two sisters, Sally Nordquist, Parshall, and Myrtle Miller, Minot; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. JAMESTOWN -- Elvina Guthmiller Wong, 81, Jamestown, died May 22, 2000 in the Jamestown Hospital. Norma Gussiaas
CARRINGTON -- Norma E. Gussiaas, 75, Carrington, died Aug. 30, 2001, in a Fargo hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Kvernes Lutheran Church, rural Carrington. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by two brothers, Henry and LuVerne Gussiaas, both of Carrington; and three sisters, Thelma Landon and Judy Swanson, both of Carrington, and Mabel Bittner, Cathay. Mary B. Held, 86, Bismarck, formerly of Selz, died Aug. 30, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Selz. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by three sons, Marvin, Hankinson, Duane, Wahpeton, and Allen, Des Plaines, Ill.; four daughters, Bernice Tracy, Woodinville, Wash., Kathy Kelly Black, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Zita Keller Dietz and Barb Held, both of Bismarck; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Katie Richter, Minneapolis.
