GOODRICH -- Glen Sauter, 53, Goodrich, died July 21, 2001, in the Harvey hospital from injuries suffered while working on his car in Goodrich. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church, Goodrich. Further arrangements are pending with Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky.

Ervin Ueckert
BEACH -- Ervin E.H. Ueckert, 88, Beach, died July 20, 2001, in a Wibaux, Mont., care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Beach. Further arrangements are pending with Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home, Beach.

Ismey Upgren
Ismey L. Upgren, 89, Bismarck, died July 21, 2001, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Revs. Jeff Tengesdal and Laurie Natwick officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck. Ismey was born Feb. 12, 1912, in Windom, Minn., the daughter of Eunice Lily (Noffsinger) and Ole Jensen. She graduated from high school as class valedictorian from Storden, Minn. She played center on the girls basketball team, was a cheerleader and sang in the Glee Club. She graduated from Eitel Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, after which she began general duty nursing. Ismey married Harold T. Upgren Sr. at Webster, S.D., in 1934. They moved to Bismarck, where Harold drove for Northland Greyhound Lines. In 1947 they moved to Carrington to run the Honker Bus Lines. They returned to Bismarck in 1952, where Ismey took on night duty nursing at Bismarck Hospital. She later became the health officer for Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing, where she remained until 1971. Ismey retired with Harold to their lake home on Cotton Lake near Detroit Lakes, Minn. In 1986 the couple returned to Bismarck. Harold passed away in 1991 and a few years later Ismey became a resident of Missouri Slope apartments and then Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center. Ismey was a member of the North Dakota Nurses Association for many years. She was also a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She loved her family, her lake home, the look of a well-baled hay field and good books. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Earl Petersen, Bismarck, and Kirsten and Tom Anderson, Barnesville, Minn.; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Loretta Upgren and Ted and Kaye Upgren, all of Bismarck; 10 grandchildren, Marc Petersen, Randall Upgren, Mary Law, Robert Upgren, James Upgren, Michael Upgren, Melissa Anderson, Charles Upgren, Daniel Upgren and Paul Anderson; and five great-grandchildren, Jennica Petersen, Joshua Upgren, Jordan Upgren, Karsen Law and Kerstin Law. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eunice and Ole Jensen; and two brothers, Gerald and Charles. The family prefers memorials to Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center C.N.A. Education Endowment or the donor's choice.

John Wolf
John A. Wolf, 87, Sun City, Calif., formerly of Bismarck and Strasburg, died July 21, 2001, in Sun City. Services and burial will be held July 30 in Sun City. He is survived by his wife, Lillian; two sons, Timothy, Upland, Calif., and Terry, Sunnyvale, Calif.; one daughter, Tonia Wolf, Boise, Idaho; one grandchild; three brothers, Ignatius, Seattle, Wash., Mike, Strasburg, and Albert, Bismarck; and one sister, Christine Wolf, Bismarck.

Joseph Wolf
Joseph E. Wolf, 76, Spokane, Wash., formerly of Bismarck and Strasburg, died July 19, 2001, in Spokane. A memorial service was held July 22 at St. Pascal Catholic Church, Spokane. Burial will be held at 10 a.m. PDT today in St. Joseph Cemetery, Spokane. He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter Jolene, Everett, Wash.; sons James, Jerry, Todd and Kevin, all of Spokane; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ignatius, Seattle, Wash., John, Sun City, Calif., Mike, Strasburg, and Albert, Bismarck; and one sister, Christine Wolf, Bismarck.

Eleanor Zimmerman
Eleanor Zimmerman, 82, Bismarck, died July 22, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Walter Dockter
WING -- Walter Dockter, 84, Wing, died Aug. 5, 2001, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Wing, with the Rev. Muriel Lippert-Schauer officiating. Burial will be in Wing Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and will continue for one hour prior to services at the church. Walter was born July 11, 1917, at Drake, the son of John and Katherine (Gerring) Dockter. He grew up on the family farm in Hurdsfield. In the 1930s he worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps in the Black Hills of South Dakota. He lived for a brief time in Montana before returning to the family farm. In 1941, Walter married Bertha Vollmer at Steele. They farmed in Hurdsfield and during the summers he would shear sheep until the fall of 1946, when they moved to Wing. He worked for various farmers in the Wing area. He also drove a bulk fuel truck for Farmers Union Oil Company for 20 years. Walter enjoyed fishing, traveling, gardening, dancing and lawn work. He is survived by his wife, Bertha; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Ted DeWall, Bismarck, and Gloria and Don Ely, Springtown, Texas; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Joan Dockter and Randy and Renea Dockter, all of Bismarck, and Marvin and Carlene Dockter, Baldwin; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ida Shelton, Seattle, Wash., Ella and Albert Weippert, Pueblo, Colo., and Viola and Bill Grauman, Yakima, Wash.; and one brother and sister-in-law, Rueben and Dixie Dockter, Pueblo, Colo. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Art Dockter; and two sisters, Bertha Hoff and Frieda Mahe.

Raymond Ehley
MINOT -- Raymond L. Ehley, 72, Minot, died Aug. 4, 2001, in a Minot care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Ashley. Burial will be in the city cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Alice; three daughters, Bonita Tranby, Eagan, Minn., Michelle Rowell, George, Iowa, and Julie Chmelik, Faribault, Minn.; two stepdaughters, Vicky Bemman, Dickinson, and Pamela Sculley, Abercrombie; one stepson, Rick Kerzman, Omaha, Neb.; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandson; three brothers, Alvin Ehley and Walter Ehley, both of Ashley, and Marvin Ehley, Aberdeen, S.D.; and two sisters, Clara Lautt, San Diego, Calif., and Luella Modahl, Minneapolis, Minn. Ella Helm
MCCLUSKY -- Ella Helm, 80, McClusky, died Aug. 4, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, McClusky. Burial will be in the city cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky. Ella was born June 20, 1921, at Lincoln Valley, to Jacob and Margaret (Dockter) Schielke. She grew up in the Lincoln Valley and McClusky areas. She married Fred C. Helm Jr. on Aug. 24, 1942, at McClusky. They lived and farmed in the Denhoff area. In 1966 they moved to a farm south of McClusky. They retired and moved to Kief in 1980. They moved into McClusky in 1984 and in 1985 they moved to the Prairieview Nursing Home in Underwood. Fred died June 6, 1988. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She is survived by nine sons, Delaino, Ron and Darvis, all of Bismarck, Duane, Mercer, Richard and Arvin, both of Kief, Bernell, Chicago, Ill., Darrell, Underwood, and Arlan, Wilton; four daughters, Paulette Sommer, West Fargo, Linda Parsons, McClusky, Connie Yi, North Las Vegas, Nev., and Darla Logue, Springfield, Ore.; 22 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one son, Arlo, in 1997.

Donald Horab
WILLISTON -- Donald Horab, 70, Williston, died Aug. 4, 2001, in the Williston medical center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, Williston. Further arrangements are pending with Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

Ella Huwe
WILLISTON -- Ella Huwe, 96, Williston, died Aug. 4, 2001, in the Williston medical center. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Williston. Further arrangements are pending with Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

Dorothy Kapsch
ELGIN -- Dorothy Kapsch, 84, Elgin, died Aug. 3, 2001, in the Elgin hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MDT Wednesday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elgin. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She is survived by one son, Dietrich Kapsch, Bismarck; three daughters, Helena Roth, Elgin, LaVern Zimmerman, Post Falls, Idaho, and Marcella Hochhalter, New Leipzig; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Stanley Linderman
CARRINGTON -- Stanley Linderman, 90, Carrington, died Aug. 4, 2001, in a Carrington care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington. Burial will be in the city cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Irma; two daughters, Sharon Halverson, Rochester, Minn., and Marleen Miller, Winona, Minn.; four grandsons; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lawrence Linderman, Carrington. Lola Martin
JAMESTOWN -- Lola D. Martin, 94, Jamestown, died Aug. 5, 2001, in a Jamestown care center. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Gem Cemetery, Woodworth. She is survived by a cousin, Goldie Rae, Billings, Mont., and many other cousins. (Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown)

Shirley Prigge
JAMESTOWN -- Shirley Prigge, 65, Jamestown, died Aug. 5, 2001, in a Jamestown care center after a battle with cancer. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Langola Cemetery, Rice, Minn. She is survived by three sons, Scott Prigge, Modesto, Calif., Brad Prigge, Butte, Mont., and Wayne Prigge, Jamestown; four daughters, Deb Bertsch, Hawley, Minn., Sue Rainey, Maple Grove, Minn., and Terri Getz and Becky Trautman, both of Jamestown; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and one sister, Clara Anderson, Elk River, Minn. Leo Ray
Leo Ray, 75, Bismarck, formerly of Medora, died Aug. 4, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Wednesday at Medora Community Center. Burial will be in Medora Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Leah; one son, Donny Ray, White, S.D.; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Arlene McCutchan, Maple Valley, Wash., and Mary Wright, St. Paul, Minn. NEW ROCKFORD -- Martin L. Severson, also known as Dick Chapman, 76, New Rockford, died Aug. 4, 2001, in a New Rockford care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford. Further arrangements are pending.

Curtis Sims
WASHBURN -- Curtis L. Sims, 63, Washburn, died peacefully Aug. 4, 2001, at his home in Washburn from complications of cancer. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Washburn, with the Rev. Gary Geiman officiating. Curtis L. Sims was born Aug. 21, 1937, at Underwood, to William and Vivian (Hoyer) Sims. He attended school in Underwood and Washburn. Curt worked as a carpenter and was active with the I.B.E.W. Local No. 714 for over 20 years. He was employed as a special deputy for McLean County for 21 years and worked part-time for many area farmers. Curt enjoyed deer hunting, spending time on his land near the Missouri River and visiting with his family and friends. Curt will be greatly missed by his loving family. He is survived by his mother, Vivian Sims, Washburn; two brothers, Dennis Sims (Dee), Bismarck, and Billy Sims, Washburn; three sisters, Marlys Thompson (Tom), Reed Point, Mont., Deb Sims-Stelter, Bismarck, and DeAnn Yunker (Douglas), Washburn; many nieces and nephews; and a special great-nephew and great-niece, Cody and Mariah Thompson. NEW TOWN -- Meredith G. Baker, 59, New Town, died Aug. 4, 2001, at his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Mandaree High School. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Mandaree. He is survived by three children, Boyce Dean, Minneapolis, Minn., and Inez Baker and Charlie Yellow Wolf, both of Mandaree; one brother, Frank Sherwood Jr., Denver, Colo.; and seven sisters, Arvella White and Ione Finley, both of Mandaree, Rose Wicker and Mary Ellen Knight, both of New Town, Nora Mae Kills Spotted, Rapid City, S.D., Mamie Sherwood-Landreaux, Bismarck, and Anita Deane, Parshall. Georgia Dilger
Georgia Mae Dilger, 45, Bismarck, died Aug. 8, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital after a lengthy illness. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Eastgate Funeral Chapel, Bismarck, with the Rev. Don Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Georgia was born in Bismarck on Feb. 22, 1956, the daughter of Alexander and Lorraine (Reinhardt) Dilger of Napoleon. The family later moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where Georgia attended schools. She moved back to North Dakota in the late 1980s to be closer to her family. She is survived by her father, Alexander Dilger, Zap; two sisters, Vickie Pappas and her husband Greg, Corbett, Ore., and Debbie McIntosh, Zap; three nieces, Davina Van Dusen and Shawn, Ontario, Calif., Kimberly Columbel, Cypress, Calif., and Jamie Herrera, Bismarck; two great-nephews, Jake and Wyatt Van Dusen; several aunts and uncles; and a special childhood friend, Maria. She was preceded in death by her mother; an infant sister; her grandparents; and one nephew

Ralph Ehlers
CARRINGTON -- Ralph Ehlers, 97, Carrington, died Aug. 8, 2001, in a Carrington care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown. Burial will be in Edmunds Cemetery, Edmunds. He is survived by one sister, LaVerne Oliver, Carrington.

Cheryl Farstveet
BEACH -- Cheryl Ann Farstveet, 38, Beach, died at her home on Aug. 5, 2001. Services will be held at 3 p.m. MDT Sunday at First Lutheran Church, Beach, with the Rev. Roger Dieterle and assistant pastor Diane Melbye officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, Beach. Cheryl was born Aug. 14, 1962, in Beach, the daughter of Keith and Myrna Orstad Farstveet. She was raised and received her education in Golva. Cheryl graduated from Golva High School in the class of 1980. After high school Cheryl attended Dickinson State University where she got a degree as a medical secretary. Cheryl moved to Norman, Okla., where she lived for three years. She returned to Beach in 1989 where she has since resided. Cheryl worked at the Wibaux County Nursing Home for the past twelve years as a CNA. She loved working with her patients and fellow employees. Cheryl loved doing different crafts including crocheting, knitting and Norwegian hardanger. Her greatest joy was doing things for her nieces and nephews. She always remembered their birthdays, Christmas and other special days. Cheryl was a member of First Lutheran Church in Beach. She is survived by her parents, Keith and Myrna Farstveet, Beach; two brothers, Ryan Farstveet and his wife Mary, Bismarck, and Rory Farstveet and his wife Stephanie, Dickinson; two sisters, Lori Steger and Renee Forney and her husband Jim, all of Norman, Okla.; five nephews; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. (Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home, Beach)
