Martin Osborne
Martin VanBuren Osborne, 90, 1503 Second Ave. N.W., Mandan, died July 30, 2001, in a Mandan care center. Private family services will be held Thursday with the Rev. Cyprian Meier officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan. Martin VanBuren Osborne was born May 30, 1911, in Wilton, Ark. He was the son of Freeman and Mary Belle (Hill) Osborne. Martin was raised and educated in Wilton, Ark. On Jan. 4, 1936, he married Katherine Bullinger in Bismarck. He entered the U.S. Army in 1930 and was honorably discharged in 1939. He also served with the Fifth Cavalry, stationed at Fort Lincoln. From 1939 until 1943 he worked for the U.S. Government including Works Project Administration. Martin worked for Northern Pacific Railroad as a car man for 27 years, retiring in 1969. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening, playing the guitar, carpentry and taking long walks. He had a great love for his family, and enjoyed the many hours he shared with them. He is survived by his wife, Katherine; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence L. and Geri, Missouri, and Kenneth, Brazil; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Dolores and Mike Wiley, Merced, Calif., Katherine and Robert Stallwood, Kennewick, Wash., Jaunita Osborne, New Britain, Conn., Loretta Osborne, Billings, Mont., and Mary E. and LaMar Kruckenberg, Mandan; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and one twin brother, Joseph, Lawton, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William and Russell Osborne; one sister, Anna Mae Crawford; and one grandson, Michael Scott Wiley.

Norma Perlingieri, 80, Newport, R.I., died July 26, 2001, in Newport. Anton Wald
Anton Wald, 84, Bismarck, died July 30, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Edwin Wehner officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a rosary and vigil will begin at 7 tonight. Anton was born Jan. 13, 1917, on the family farm near Venturia, to Sebastian and Magdalena (Welder) Wald. He attended rural school near Venturia. On Dec. 5, 1939, he married Rose Senger at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hague. They made their home on a farm near Zeeland. They retired in 1994 and moved to Bismarck. He served as a church trustee at St. Andrew's Catholic Church and was a member of Hague Knights of Columbus. Grateful to have shared his life are his wife, Rose; one daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Bob Word, Kadoka, S.D.; four sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney and Marcella, Crystal, Minn., Robert and Rena, St. Cloud, Minn., Leon and Carol, Billings, Mont., and Ken and Bobi, Rochester, Minn.; one sister, Barbara Ziegler, Bismarck; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parent; three brothers, George, Ben and Sebastian; and four sisters, Rose Aberle, Lizzie Weigel, Phyllis Welder and Mary Wald.

Raymond Johnson
WILTON -- Raymond E. Johnson, 64, Wilton, died July 31, 2001, in his home in Wilton. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunne Lutheran Church, rural Wilton, with the Rev. Muriel Lippert-Schauer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn. Raymond Engvald Johnson was born Oct. 19, l936, at Ghylin Township, rural Burleigh County, the son of Ole and Louise (Lund) Johnson. He attended rural school in Ghylin Township. He farmed his parents' homestead and worked as a hired man for neighboring farmers. Ray moved to Wilton in the fall of 1983 and managed the Wilton Laundromat for a number of years. Ray enjoyed visiting with family and friends. He is survived by four sisters, Annie Grenz and Olga Johnson, both of Mandan, Alma Gooding, Arlington, Texas, and Arlene Richter and her husband, Anton, Wing; one brother, Ralph and his wife, Lois, Seattle; 11 nieces and nephews, Virgil Grenz, Darrell Grenz, Bernice Grenz-Cook, Crystal Stoltz, Wayne Traver, Elizabeth Gooding, Betsy Zarr, Julia Luther, and Curtis and David Richter; and many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Terry L. Keller, 47, Tampa, Fla., formerly of Bismarck, surrounded to cancer, July 31, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bismarck Funeral Home where friends and family are invited to celebrate Terry's life by remembering him with memories and stories. There will be no reviewal, however, a registry book will be available to sign 48 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at Almont Cemetery. Terry is survived by his parents, Leo and Jean Keller, Bismarck; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Laurie and Mark Kadrmas, Bismarck, Jody Keller, Minneapolis; one brother and sister-in-law, Lynn and Marcy Keller, Mandan; nieces, Shelby and Shayne Keller; and nephew, Dylan Kadrmas. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ross; and his grandparents.

A.C. A. McClure, 72, Marysville, Wash., died July 26, 2001. He was born June 15, 1929, in Bismarck, to Clarence "Mac" McClure and Margaret Galloway McClure Harrison. Both parents and his step-father, Charles H. Harrison, preceded him in death, as did a brother, Charles H. Harrison Jr. A veteran of the Army Transport Service, the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force, McClure served in Japan and England. He is survived by his sons, Michael McClure, Kennewick, Wash., and Patrick McClure, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; daughters, Sharon Hagemann, Sandpoint, Idaho, Rosemary Barnes, Spokane, Wash., Maureen Smith, Post Falls, Idaho, Marjorie Robinson, Acworth, Ga., and Sylvia McClure, Spokane, Wash.; his brothers, W.N.
