DICKINSON --ÝFaye Olson, 55, Dickinson, died March 6, 2001, in a Dickinson care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Saturday at Evangelical Bible Church, Dickinson, with burial in Sunnyslope Cemetery, Mott.
She is survived by two sons, Robbie, Dickinson, and Ricky, Amarillo, Texas; her parents, Harold and Minnie Huether, Dickinson; two sisters, MaDonna Bernhardt, Taylor, and Deb Reisenauer, Dickinson. (Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson)
Della Reddogg
PORCUPINE -- Della J. Reddogg, 23, Porcupine, died March 6, 2001, in Porcupine. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Gabriel's Church, Breien, with the Rev. John Floberg officiating. Burial will be in Red Cedar Cemetery, Solen.
Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan. A wake will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday at Porcupine Community Center.
Della was born Sept. 25, 1977, at Fort Yates, to Antoine and Anna Janelle (Loans Arrow) Reddogg. She was raised and educated in Standing Rock and graduated from Fort Yates Public High School in 1996.
She loved and enjoyed caring for children. Della had worked at Prairie Knights Casino, Head Start Program in Porcupine, and as a child caregiver at United Tribes. Della enjoyed spending time and playing games with her daughter Bilisha, playing pool, spending time with her friends and relatives, and taking care of her nieces and nephews and other children. She loved listening to oldies music and classic rock.
She is survived by a daughter, Bilisha Harrison; her mother and stepfather, Anna and Robert Plenty Chief, Solen; five sisters, Leta White Lightning, Cannon Ball, Pamela Brave Bull, Cannon Ball, Antoinette Lester, Bismarck, Agnes Reddogg and Roberta Plenty Chief, both of Solen; two brothers, Corey, Cannon Ball, and Antoine Jr., Solen; a special friend, Bill Harrison; and many aunts and uncles.
Della was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her father, Antoine.
Kathrena Reiner
HAZEN -- Kathrena Reiner, 97, Hazen, died March 7, 2001, in the New Salem care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Saturday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Hazen, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Elmer, Bismarck; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Christine Hilz, Hazen. (Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen)
Alfred Schafer
Alfred Schafer, 62, Mandan, died March 7, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Albert Leary officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday and 1-9 p.m. Sunday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, where a parish vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday. There will be no visitation at the church.
Alfred was born July 7, 1938, in Bison, S.D., the son of Mike C. and Irene (Wingenbach) Schafer. The Schafers relocated to a farmstead near Flasher where Alfred was raised and educated.
Alfred served in the U.S. Army from March 1962 to March 1964. He then started working for Loehrke Brothers Construction. He married Peggy Lundstrom on Aug. 6, 1966. They had three children, Candice, Melissa and Kent. He continued to work for Loehrke's when he switched to his lifelong passion of truck driving. He drove semi for Belohlavek Trucking and Hartman Trucking, where he hauled trees for the interstate and dirt for the construction of Froehlich Dam near Selfridge. He switched professions to work at the Husky Truck Stop in Bismarck.
Alfred most enjoyed Christmases with his grandchildren. He used to tape the presents so tight so that they could only be ripped apart. He would have enjoyed fishing and hunting if he had been able to go. He still collected fishing rods and tackle.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Peggy; three children, Candice and Randy Stein, and their three children, Kendra, Tarshae and Jaedyn; Melissa and Tom Rebenitsch, and their children, Amanda, Joshua and Bailee; and Kent and his son, Dylan, and Dylan's mother, Kari, all of Mandan; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl and Joann, Bismarck, Sam and Ruby, Hazen, and Norbert and Robyn, Bismarck; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Eleanor and Christ Schaff, Leona and Dick Beckerdite, all of Mandan, Phyllis and Bob Schuh, Arizona, Edna and Elmer Keller, Linton, and Cecelia Schafer, Indiana; and his mother-in-law, Katie Lundstrom, Mandan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Delores; three infant brothers; one infant sister; and his father-in-law, Ernest Lundstrom.
Hazel Snippen
MINOT --ÝHazel Snippen, 87, Minot, died March 7, 2001, in her home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot, with burial at 1 p.m. Saturday in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
Visitation will be from noon to 8:30 p.m. today at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Hazel was born July 7, 1913, in Hanley Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Martha Halquist. At a young age she moved with her parents to Garrison. She ws reared and educated there and graduated from Garrison High School in 1931. After graduation she worked in the Garrison area for a few years before moving to Minot where she worked for Kresge's.
She married Lawrence Snippen on Sept. 20, 1939, in Sidney, Mont. They lived in Ryder for two years before moving to the Snippen Farm near Roseglen. During the winter months they traveled to various places, but from 1960 to 1978, they spent their winters in Minot where Hazel was employed with Ellison's Department Store. In 1978 they moved to Minot having sold their farm in Roseglen. Lawrence died on Sept. 5, 1991, in Minot.
Hazel was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Roseglen, the Ladies Aid, and later was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Minot.
She is survived by one sister, Opal Ronning, Bismarck; one brother, Arnold Halquist, Garrison; two nieces, Yvonne Erb and Sheryl Heidt, both of Bismarck; and one nephew, Robert Ronning, Mandan.

She is survived by her parents, Erling and Lillian Barmoen, Battleview; one daughter, Kristy Knudson, Tioga; two brothers, Erling Barmoen II, Tioga, and Myron Barmoen, Battleview; two sisters, Linda Rystedt, rural Battleview, and Judy Trones, Williston; and four grandchildren. Denise Metz
Denise Metz, 42, Bismarck, died May 10, 2000 in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Eastgate Funeral Chapel, Bismarck, with the Rev. Dr. Bradley R. Stoltenow officiating. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue prior to the funeral services on Saturday. Denise Renee Metz was born Aug. 17, 1957 in Bismarck, the daughter of Louis and Bernetta (Simon) Metz. Denise was raised and educated in Bismarck, graduating from Bismarck High School in 1976 and from Bismarck State College with an Associate Degree in Psychology. Denise worked at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center and was an active volunteer at the Old Governor's Mansion and various Humane Society organizations. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Bismarck. She loved her nieces and nephews and enjoyed making crafts for her family and friends. Denise is survived by her father, Louis, Bismarck; three sisters, Theresa "Terry" Metz and Nancy Friesz, both of Bismarck, and Ellen Metz, Killeen, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Nancy Metz, Dickinson; and numerous nieces and nephews. FARGO -- Loretta Sayler, 91, Fargo, and formerly of rural Washburn, died May 9, 2000 in a Fargo nursing home. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, at United Methodist Church, Washburn, with burial in Riverview Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Royann Archer, Fargo; two sons, James, Zimmerman, Minn., and Terry, Brookings, Ore.; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Alice Janzen, Madison, Wis. Richard Schmitz
Richard "Ric" Schmitz, 42, Bismarck, died May 9, 2000 near Moffit, as a result of a car accident. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Zastoupil officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. Public visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today, at Boelter Funeral Home, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. He was born June 18, 1957 in Milwaukee, Wis., the son of Marvin and Jeanette (Theisen) Schmitz. Ric was raised and educated in Wisconsin, and graduated from high school in Racine, Wis. He attended Wahpeton State School of Science and in 1979 he graduated from the University of Mary. He married Gail Deschamp on Dec. 15, 1979 in Westhope. Ric worked at 3M, OMF and Fronteer Directory. Since 1994, he worked at United Blood Services as the Director of Community Relations. Ric's passion in life was being with his family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, refereeing and playing amateur basketball and watching his boys play sports. He touched many lives. Ric is survived by his wife, Gail; two sons, Andrew and Adam, Bismarck; his mother, Jeanette Schmitz, Racine, Wis.; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Jim and Sandy, and Bill, Racine, and Mike, Crown Point, Ind.; and nine nieces and nephews.
