William Boyce
RHAME -- William F. Boyce, 72, Rhame, died March 20, 2001, in a Hettinger medical center. Services will be held at 9 a.m. MST Friday at First Lutheran Church, Rhame. Burial will be in Tuttle Cemetery, Rhame.
He is survived by his wife, Peg; three sons, Scott Boyce, Bowman, Jeff Boyce, Beulah, and Todd Susag, Fargo; two daughters, Pam Maher, Fargo, and Pam Susag, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one sister, Rolene Taylor, Bowman; two half-sisters, Sharon Rutherford, Rapid City, S.D., and Carolyn Sonderal, McFarland, Wisc.; one half-brother, Myron Nelson, Rapid City, S.D.; and seven grandchildren. Martha Brandner
Martha Brandner, 89, Mandan, formerly of Wishek, died March 20, 2001, in a Mandan care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Wishek. Further arrangements are pending with Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek.
Helen Crowley
GLEN ULLIN -- Helen Crowley, 76, Glen Ullin, died March 21, 2001, in Glen Ullin. A memorial service with military rites by American Legion Post No. 100 of Hebron will be held at 10:30 a.m. MST Saturday at St. John United Church of Christ, Hebron, with the Rev. Thomas A. Zuhlke officiating.
Helen was born March 29, 1924, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Jesse King DuBois and Mattie Edna Carr. She was raised and educated in Ohio. Helen entered the U.S. Maries July 24, 1944, and served in Oahu and Washington, D.C. She was discharged April 11, 1946.
Following her discharge, Helen attended, and in 1949 graduated from, Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. Helen moved to Miami, Fla., in 1950 and taught junior high physical education in the public school system. She married Jim Crowley Dec. 23, 1954, in Miami. In 1958 they relocated to a ranch north of Hebron. Helen worked for the Census Bureau during the 1970 census.
Helen and Jim enjoyed spending the winters in the south, many of them in their winter home in Sierra Vista, Ariz. Helen entered Marion Manor Healthcare Center in Glen Ullin in August 1999, where she has resided since.
Helen enjoyed baking, canning, reading, playing the piano and photography. She also enjoyed playing cards, games and backgammon with family and friends. Helen also spent many hours in handiwork, embroidering and quilting. She crocheted many teddy bears which she gave away.
Helen was a member of St. John United Church of Christ and Happy Homemakers Club of Hebron.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorrie and Jeff Narloch, Grafton, and Bonnie and Reed Danuser, Fargo; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Miles, Valley City, and Dan and Lesa, Bismarck; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Dorothy Davidson and Edna Lenz.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the American Diabetes Association.
Gotthielf Daschendorf
ASHLEY -- Gotthielf Daschendorf, 91, Ashley, died March 20, 2001, in an Ashley medical center. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church Chapel, Ashley. Further arrangements are pending with Carlsen Funeral Home, Ashley.
Ardys Fryslie
Ardys B. Fryslie, 79, Bismarck, died March 21, 2001, at her home. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Bismarck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Duane Wacker officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Ardys (Merrick) Fryslie was born May 27, 1921, in Agar, S.D., to Edna (Tomfohrde) and Leslie Merrick. She attended grade school in Agar. In 1934 she moved with her family to Ellendale, where her parents opened a Ben Franklin store. Ardys graduated in 1939 from EHS and that fall enrolled at the NI where she earned her commercial certificate. In the summer of 1941 she found employment as a secretary in Portland, Ore.
On April 29, 1942, Ardys married Arthur Fryslie in Ellendale. In October 1942 Arthur joined the Navy and served in the South Pacific. On his return to the states he was stationed at Alameda Naval Station and Ardys was employed by the Port of Embarkation in San Francisco, Calif.
After her husband's discharge in 1945 Ardys and Arthur returned to Ellendale and continued their education. In 1948 they moved to California, where Art taught school in Oakland for five years. In 1952 they moved back to the Dakotas and were employed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs in the Department of Education on the Pine Ridge and Cheyenne Eagle Butte reservations.
In 1964 Ardys and Arthur returned to Ellendale and purchased the Ben Franklin store (Village Variety) which they operated until 1985 when it was sold. They continued to reside in Ellendale until 1998 when they moved to Bismarck.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur; two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Judy, Center, and Steven and Karen, Mandan; four daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and Curt Neumann, Detroit Lakes, Minn., Marcia and Nick Kootsikas, Rosemount, Minn., Jami and James Juelke, Sauk Centre, Minn., and Susan and Buzz Cope, Amsterdam, Mont.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Mabel Merrick, Ishpeming, Mich., and Warren and Katherine Merrick, Marquette, Mich.; and one sister, Lois Nordstrom, Minneapolis, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Charles.

NEW ROCKFORD -- Arthur Gedrose, 75, New Rockford, was found dead March 20, 2001, at his farm home of natural causes. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, New Rockford. Further arrangements are pending with Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.

DRISCOLL -- Harold Hall, 78, Driscoll, died March 21, 2001, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, Driscoll. Further arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.
Emma Hoyt
BEULAH -- Emma Hoyt, 90, Beulah, died March 21, 2001, in a Beulah care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MST Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, with the Rev. Kris Nyman officiating. Burial will be in the city cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. MST today at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.
Emma was born March 21, 1911, in Beulah, a daughter of Karl and Rosina (Geiszler) Heihn. She was raised and attended school in the Beulah area. At age 19 Emma left for Chicago where she worked for Plumb Tool Company for 27 years.
In September 1969 Emma married Earl Hoyt of Chicago and they returned to Bismarck to retire. Earl died in 1995. In 1997 Emma moved to the School House Apartments in Beulah, where she immensely enjoyed her new surroundings and special friend, Katherine Helm.
Emma enjoyed crocheting, quilting, reading and working on puzzles with her friends at the School House Apartments. She will be remembered always for her excellent homemade noodles and her chicken eilaf soup.
Recently Emma became a resident of Knife River Care Center in Beulah. She died peacefully in her sleep on her 90th birthday.
She is survived by one stepson and his wife, Ron and Noreen Hoyt, Chicago; two sisters, Pauline Rueb and Alvin McLaughlin, both of Beulah; two sisters-in-law, Martha Heihn, Beulah, and Freida Heihn, Bismarck; many nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Renae Bourdeaux, Grand Forks, and Denise, Ron and Doug Roethlisberger, all of Mandan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; her parents; four brothers, Fred, Ted, Otto and Herb Heihn; and three sisters, Hilda Lippert, Freda Andres and Tillie Schwede.
Jerald Huber
BISMARCK -- Jerald J. Huber, 58, Bismarck, formerly of Memphis, Tenn., died March 20, 2001, in Bismarck. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church, Linton. Burial will be in the city cemetery.
He is survived by three sons, Jamie, St. Michael, Minn., and Jon and Jason, both of Bismarck; one daughter, Julie Goldade, Bismarck; four grandchildren; his mother, Alvina Huber, Linton; two brothers, Don, Tremont, Ill., and Jim, Mandan; and two sisters, JoAnn Gunia, New Hope, Minn., and Maureen Jacobson, Brooklyn Center, Minn. Carol Kralicek
Carol Kralicek, 66, Bismarck, died March 20, 2001, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Zastoupil officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation will be held from noon to 7 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the church.
Carol was born Dec. 7, 1934, in Richardton, the daughter of Julius and Regina Pfeifer. She attended St. Mary's Grade School in Richardton and St. Mary's High School in New Englad before attending St. Catherine's College in St. Paul, Minn. She also attended Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisc. Carol then graduated through Dickinson State University with a degree in elementary education.
Carol married Dr. Eugene Kralicek Aug. 19, 1955, in Dickinson. They lived in Milwaukee where she taught in the school system. They also lived in England where she taught in the military school system. Their family moved to San Francisco, Calif., before returning to North Dakota in 1974.
Carol loved music, the arts, cooking and traveling. And through all these things and more Carol found a joy a joy in life that should be experienced and shared with outers. She played cello in the symphony and was an accomplished artist, expressing herself through music and painting.
Carol was a compassionate person who shared her time with the Bismarck Emergency Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels. Carol enjoyed people, especially participating in various church activities. Throughout her involvement in community interests, Carol was most devoted to her husband and children.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Eugene Kralicek; her daughter, JoLynn Sinental, Chapel Hill, N.C.; her sons, Michael Kralicek and his wife JoEllen, Bismarck, and Thomas Kralicek, Vail, Colo.; her grandchildren, George Sinental and triplets Reed, Cole and Logan Kralicek; and her mother, Regina Pfeifer, Bismarck.

Alice Lund
Alice L. Lund, 57, Missoula, Mont., died March 17, 2001, in Missoula. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Williston. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. April 2 at Presbyterian Church, Missoula. Further arrangements are pending with Everson Funeral Home, Williston.
