NEW ROCKFORD -- George J. Hitz, 97, New Rockford, died April 25, 2001, in a New Rockford care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church, New Rockford. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by three children, Barbara Lies and Louis Hitz, both of New Rockford, and Helen Soroka, Los Angeles, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Margaret Settelmeyer, New Rockford. Caitlin Belle Holder, 10, Clarksville, Tenn., died April 27, 2001, in a Nashville, Tenn., medical center. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave and Larson Chapel, Clarksville, Tenn., with the Revs. Tony Miller and Raynell Dyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until services Sunday at the chapel. Caitlin was born April 27, 1990, in Texas, the daughter of Randall and Susan (Potter) Holder. She was attending the fifth grade at Burt Elementary school. She is survived by her parents, Randall and Susan Holder, Clarksville, Tenn.; three brothers, Samuel Nicolson, Clarksville, Tenn., Mathew Holder, Bismarck, and Brian Holder, Alexandria, Va.; one sister, Christy Nicolson, Bismarck; and her grandmother, Joyce Potter, Mandan.

BEULAH -- Matthew Warren Forsyth, 18, Beulah, died accidentally at his home on April 3, 2001. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah. Further arrangements are pending at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.
Marjorie Langford
Marjorie L. Langford, 80, Bismarck, died April 3, 2001, in her home after a long illness. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn, with the Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at the funeral home, and will continue one hour before services.
Marjorie Lenore Sheldon was born Dec. 29, 1920, at Washburn, to Henry and Theoline (Tweeten) Sheldon. She graduated from Washburn High School. She attended business college at Bismarck, and worked as a secretary for the county agent in Washburn. In 1941 she married James A. Poe at San Diego, Calif., where they made their home.
During World War II she moved back to Washburn, and then after the war, moved back to San Diego to join her husband. Her husband died in 1948, at which time she moved to Bismarck with her children. She was employed as a secretary for Standard Oil Co. and Medcenter One.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Elkettes, American Legion Auxiliary and Desk and Derrick Club.
In 1959 she married Dale E. Langford at Bismarck where they made their home. They were both active in the Democratic Party and she accompanied her husband who was a delegate to the 1960 national Democratic Convention. He died in 1964.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Nedra and William Cook, Baltimore, Md.; one son, Charles Poe, Denver; four grandchildren, Joseph Mihalik, Baltimore, Jennie and her husband, Jack Crivello, San Diego, Gretta and Daren Jensen, Denver, and Zackary A. Poe, Denver; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Eleanor Sheldon, and Orlen and Eleanor Sheldon, all of Washburn; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and one baby daughter.
The family prefers memorials to HMR Hospice.
Maxine Larson
HAZEN -- Maxine Larson, 85, Hazen, died April 3, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Friday at English Lutheran Church, Hazen, with the Rev. Bill Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Wilton.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen.
Maxine was born Dec. 27, 1915, at Wilton, to Carl and Mimi (Tosseth) Johnson. She was raised and educated in Wilton, graduating from Wilton High School in 1933. On Nov. 16, 1936, she married Elmer Larson at Bismarck. They lived in Wilton until moving to the Dakota Star Mine, north of Hazen in 1946. In 1970, they moved into Hazen. Elmer died in 1981. Maxine became a resident of Senior Suites in Hazen on Aug. 12, 1997.
She was a member of English Lutheran Church, Hazen, and the Homemakers Club. She loved crocheting, sewing, reading, fishing and camping in earlier years.
Maxine is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Donnell and Phyllis Larson, Sterling, Colo.; three grandchildren, Darren and Julie Larson, Highlands, Colo., Craig and Karen Larson, Omaha, Neb., and Tanya Larson, Denver; five great-grandchildren, Makenna, Mitchell, Carter Larson, Tyler and Grant Nieland; one sister, Lucille Anderson, Bismarck; and three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Willis Johnson, McClusky, Jack and Gen Johnson, Mandan, and Marvin and Helen Johnson, Wilton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; and one brother, James.

Pius Mastel, 77, Bismarck, died April 4, 2001, in his home. Arrangements are pending at Bismarck Funeral Home.
Evelyn McMonagle
Evelyn K. McMonagle, 79, died April 1, 2001, in a Pryor, Okla. hospital from cancer. The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. April 14 at Peace Lutheran Church, Lincoln.
Evelyn was born March 14, 1922, to John and Freida (Weishaar) Aldinger in Coleharbor. Evelyn married Dean McMonagle on Oct. 26, 1947, in Bismarck. She lived in Bismarck until 1964 when she moved to Carrington. She returned to Bismarck in 1978.
Surviving Evelyn are her sons, Steve McMonagle and his wife, Lynne, Valley City, and Mike McMonagle and his wife Marla, Lincoln; her daughters, Dian Berger and her husband, Don, Pryor, and Neta McDonald and her husband, Terry, Lincoln; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jake Aldinger, Garrison, and Lawrence Aldinger, Bismarck; and two sisters, Elsie Mankin, Lakewood, Colo., and Helen Landenberger, Lakewood.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Dean; her parents, John and Freida; three brothers, Alec, Fred and Otto; and her sister, Irene.
