WATFORD CITY -- Clyde Holman, 72, Watford City, died Jan. 20, 2000, in Glendale, Ariz. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, Watford City, with burial in Schafer Cemetery, Watford City. He is survived by one sister, Helen Hensley, Lakewood, Wash. Helen Klein
Helen Klein, 88, a resident of Bismarck since 1933, died Jan. 29, 2000, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church. Helen was born in Tereck region of the North Caucas Russia, on March 29, 1911, to Phillip and Emilia Seibel. She immigrated with her parents to Berlin, Germany, in 1918, then to the United States when she was eight years old. The family moved to Winner, S.D., in 1921, and to Regan in 1927, where she met her husband, William Klein. William passed away on July 28, 1978. Helen's hobbies were gardening, crocheting and baking. Helen is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Bertha and Jack Case, Sun City, Ariz., and Alvina and Arthur Laib, and Beverly and Paul Boehm, all of Bismarck; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Constance Klein, Duluth, Minn.; one brother, Adolph Seibel, Boise, Idaho; two sisters, Viola Adkins, Sweet Home, Ore., and Anna Williams, Boise; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Mary Hayes. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Jay Chapman Sr.
Jay W. Chapman, Sr., 70, 107 12th St. N.W., Mandan, died Dec. 31, 1999 at his home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Calvary Free Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Arthur K. Wetzel officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.
Visitation begins today from 1-9 p.m. and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Jay Wilbur Chapman Sr. was born Nov. 28, 1929 at Valley City to Jay W. and Freada (Kapaun) Chapman. He was raised and educated in Bismarck, Foley, Minn., Lake City, Minn., and Buffalo, ND. Jay graduated from Buffalo High School, received his BA from Jamestown College and his Masters Degree from the University of North Dakota. Jay served in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict reaching the rank of Corporal from Sept. 5, 1951 to Sept. 4, 1953. He married Elinor V. Berntson on Aug. 25, 1957 at Hastings, ND. Jay had taught school at LaMoure, Cavalier, Mandan Jr. High, the University of Mary, and Shiloh Christian School.
He is survived by his wife, Elinor Chapman; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Stan Kenny, Sterling, Kan., Renee and David Schelkoph, Mason City, Iowa; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jay and Lynelle Chapman Jr., Mandan, and Dave Chapman, Minot; two sisters, Etla Bayley, Buhl, Minn., Louise Decker, Mustang, Okla.; 10 grandchildren, Kristen, Jay IV, Sarah and Jennifer Chapman, Erin, Jared and Ryan Kenny, Daniel, Kate and Mark Schelkoph.
Jay was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Alexius Hospice, Gideon Society or similar charity. (Perry Funeral Home, Mandan)
